Summary: Based on one of my biggest theories and who I think Rogue might have named as Frosch's killer. Because it must have been someone Natsu knew for his reaction to be like that.

Pairings: Rogue/Frosch friendship, Rogue/Sting friendship, Lucy/Levy friendship, Lucy/Sting friendship, a little Sting/Lector friendship, and implied Natsu/Lucy.

Author's Note: Warning this is probably the first dark chapter I have written for this fic. Character deaths. Multiple. Mentioned and actually happening.

The worst day of his life happened among the many terrible, miserable, and dark days of his life.

It had been a year since that nightmare day with the Eclipse. A whole year since he witnessed all of his guild, all of his fellow mages, all the local people, be slaughtered by the dragons. It had been a year since he saw the most terrifying thing in the world. The thing that sent the dragons into retreat….

It hadn't been a Dragon Slayer, and that made it worse.

Six Dragon Slayers and none of them were able to kill a single one but she…..ten turned to dust and they all retreated in fear. He wished he could too but he couldn't, because she was right there with them.

They stuck together like glue now. Wherever Sting and Rogue went, so did Levy McGarden and Lucy Heartfilla. They seemed to be the only humans that survived Crocus. Lector and Frosh survived too, just by the skin of their teeth, but it really didn't seem worth it with everyone dead and the dragons ruling the world with an iron tyranny.

They made an attempt of a home everywhere. In forests, abandoned caves, ruins of towns, villages, and cities that the dragons had already destroyed…..for him nothing can beat the home he had made with Sting, and Frosch, and Lector….and for the girls nothing could be home other than Fairy Tail.

They were all fucking miserable and nothing can change that.

Then it all really went to hell.

They were discovered by a hoard of dragons who all decided they would make a nice meal especially Rogue and Sting. They had it in for the Dragon Slayers, not that they could blame them for that, but it made surviving all the more difficult.

They tried running for it but it was futile, there dragons were starving.

That's what happened when you kill your entire food supply to the point there was nothing left but dragons, the earth, and the four humans and their two Exceeds.

They ended up cornered and that was when Sting took the desperate measure that will one day get him killed.

(And trust him, he did kill Sting for this, and then absorbed him into him in order to make himself unbeatable.)

"Lucy-nee!" String grabbed hold of the blonde's shoulders. They had grown somewhat close since that day with the Eclipse. Sting learnt to love her, and with all her warmth beneath the sadness, her thoughtfulness, and kindness, Rogue had wanted to love her too….but he still remembered that day and it terrified him. "We need you to do that thing again!"

Lucy blinked up at him, scared, confused, and in near tears. "What thing?!" she cried out.

She still didn't remember. She only had a handful memories of that day, in some ways she was blessed. She didn't remember the massacre but in others she was cursed, and they were doomed because what were they going to do now?!

"If you don't do it we're all going to die!" Sting screamed. "We're all going to die like Natsu-san, is that what you want, Lucy-nee?"

They were like magic words.

Rogue could see it on her face. She was remembering it all. Probably not just Natsu Dragneel, whom any idiot, even a blind idiot, knew she had been in love with. It was probably everyone. She could probably see her guild members' dead bodies littering Crocus all over again. Gajeel-kun looking small and vulnerable for the first time in his life, Juvia Lockser and Gray Fullbuster almost touching hands, the Strauss siblings sprawled out not too far from one another, Wendy Marvel impaled, her innocent eyes void of anything, that baby girl in the arms of her parents, and for Lucy, only to Lucy, the very worst of it all….Natsu Dragneel's arm flopping as all life left him.

Lucy screamed.

A complex, multi-layered, gold, magic circle sprawled out from beneath her feat, her eyes flashed gold and her whole aura shimmered radiantly like the sun.

Rogue trembled fearfully. It was just like that day.

Her magic shot up into the air and disintegrated the first dragon. And then another, and then another, and then, just when they thought they were safe, the worst happened.

She lost control again.

They had been warned. Sting and Rogue. Just before she disappeared into nothingness, Mavis had warned them all that Lucy's powers were too destructive, too out of control, and now Fairy Tail was gone, there was virtually no one that will be able to reign her in.

"Lu-Chan!" Levy cried out desperately. "Lu-Chan! Stop it! You got to stop it before-"

Lucy's magic whiplashed and they were all hit by hit. Sting was dazed but had caught Lector in time before he smacked into something hard, and Rogue himself could feel a concussion forming as he banged his head against the forest floor. Levy was thrown into a tree, she would suffer broken bones, but she lived. Frosch, however…

His tiny furry body never looked so fragile before.

"No….no…." he had failed to protect his best friend, his constant companion, the only family he had in such a long time. "Frosch….Frosch….."

You failed, the shadows whispered sinisterly to him, how weak, how pathetic you are when faced against the light. She'll never stop now. She'll keep killing just like she killed Frosch….

He felt the shadows taking over but he no longer cared like he used to. What was the point? What the hell was the point anymore? Everything was dead. Everything he loved was gone. What world was this when only the monsters like the dragons and her roamed free?

Lucy was still screaming, her magic lashing out everywhere, destroying trees, and disintegrating rocks to dust.

He had to stop her and the shadows told him one good shock would do it.

He lashed out furiously, she killed Frosch! And his shadow sharpened, like a sword, and sliced into her flesh.

The screaming and magic stopped abruptly instantly.

The arm of Lucy Heartfilla hit the ground first….and then Lucy did too.

"It's all over," Sting whispered, "thank God…"

But it wasn't all over. It was only the beginning. The very next day Lucy would leave, she lost her memories of that event, and didn't understand….she left to make it more bearable for them, and he never saw her again though by God he wanted to just to strangle the life out of her for Frosch.

He turns soon on Sting, Lector and Levy escaped, to where he would never know, but Sting died for his hand in Frosch's death, and then Rogue moved on to ensure that the events that led to Frosch's death would never happen.

He went back in time with many plans but only one true goal burning in his heart.

To kill Lucy Heartfilla.

He just didn't expect his version of Lucy and Natsu Dragneel to get in the way.

"In one year's time Lucy Heartfilla will kill Frosch."

The look on Natsu Dragneel's face was disbelief and then it hardened into one of anger. You're lying, he seemed to be telling Rogue silently, Lucy would never do that.

Rogue didn't blame him. He would think the same thing if the killer of the future version of his love told him that she will kill their best friend. He didn't expect Natsu Dragneel to believe him or trust him but he had to warn him.

He tried to warn him. He was so tired now, his body so weak and weary, he so desperately wished to go to sleep and never wake up again, but he held on tightly. He had to warn Natsu. Only Natsu could stop it. Only he could control her. If Natsu died that would be it.

He wanted to tell him what that ghost told him. He still didn't understand it. Seven years since that horrible, fateful, day and he still didn't completely understand the story. Either Lucy had some sort of deity inside her or she was a deity bound into human form, it didn't make sense, but what did was knowing she was dangerous.

His body was disappearing and he could see the same gold light that had consumed Lucy. It terrified him.

Lucy Heartfilla isn't who you think she is, he tried to say but the look on Natsu's face suggested that he couldn't hear Rogue's words, she is….Lumen….Historie….

And then the darkness consumed him and he was finally at peace.

His warning unheard.
