A short based on my second favorite Fire Emblem game and one of my favorite couples. Hope you all enjoy.

Warning: Ephriam x Myrrh

Castle Renais…

2 hours. That's how long it had been.

It had been two hours, since Ephriam started waiting outside the medical room. It had been two hours, since he was asked to wait outside while Seth, his sister Eirika, and the nurses of the castle had carried his wife into the room.

It had been two hours. Since Myrrh went into labor.

After the war, Myrrh returned to Darkling Woods. Knowing she couldn't stay in Renais. But Ephriam didn't want her to leave. So he frequently visited her in Darkling Woods.

Ephriam could remember the day he proposed to Myrrh. He could remember every second of it. Myrrh didn't know if it was safe for her to marry Ephriam. Thinking that Renais couldn't have a dragon as it's queen. But after thinking, she took his hand.

Myrrh's thinking was suddenly changed after marriage. The people of Renais supported both the king and queen through everything. Even if the queen was a Manakete.

And then, and after the wedding. She told him.

She told him she was pregnant.

Ephriam really wanted to feel happy. But all he felt was stress. He was worried that Myrrh would die from bearing a child, let alone giving birth.

Until it was found out how Manakete are born. When the mother gives birth to the child, the child is smaller than a normal baby. But then grows to the size of one after birth.

But it still worried Ephriam. Not just for Myrrh, but also for him becoming a father. It took a long time before Ephriam decided to take the throne before the war. And now he had to become a father for his child.

And staying as the husband of a 1200 year old manakete.

"Gods. Why must I wait so long? Is Myrrh alright?!" Ephriam asked.

That is when one of the nights walked to him. Ephriam's friend, Kyle.

"Lor-I mean King Ephriam. What is troubling you?" Kyle asked.

"Ah, Kyle. It's been two hours. I can't wait any longer!" Ephriam stated. "I need to know if Myrrh is okay, and if my child is alright."

"It's not just that." Forde, another one of Ephriam's knights stated as he walked into the hall. "King Ephriam, are you worried about becoming a father?"

"Well…I…yes. I am. But because I don't think I'll be a good father." Ephriam explained. I can't rule a kingdom and care for my child at once! I'll be terrible!"

"Your majesty. You will be fine." Kyle stated. "Your father was the king, and he raised both you and Eirika. You can do the same. You have Eirika and Seth as well."

Ephriam looked down at the floor. "I suppose you're right. Do you think my father would be proud of me?"

Forde nodded. "Of course. He'd always be proud of you and Eirika."

Ephriam smiled. "Right. Thank you both."

"Yeah, and hey. It didn't end up like another Ewan and Marisa." Forde chuckled. As Kyle and Ephriam looked at him.

"That's not exactly funny Forde." Ephriam told him.

That's when the door opens as our came Eirika, her husband Seth, and the nurses.

Ephriam turned as he ran to Eirika.

"Eirika! Please tell me Myrrh is alright! What happened? Is the child okay?" Ephriam asked multiple questions.

Eirika just gave her brother a simple smile. "Go inside." She then walked away as Seth followed his wife.

Seth turned to his wife. "Our son will have a playmate soon."

Ephriam bolted into the room. As he saw Myrrh in the hospital bed. Holding something in her arms.

"Myrrh!! Are you okay? What happened?" Ephriam asked as he stopped by her bedside.

"Ephriam." Myrrh smiled. As she showed him the bundle in her arms. "It's a girl."

"Oh.." Ephriam smiled as the king let out a sigh of relief. He sat down next to her bed in a chair that was placed there. "She's beautiful Myrrh."

"I know. She's really small." Myrrh nodded as she handed the sleeping child to Ephriam. Who cradled it in his arms.

"She's got your horns, and my hair." Ephriam chuckled as he rocked his new baby girl.

"I know. She's going to be….an amazing princess." Myrrh smiled as she lied back down. "I…I need rest."

"Of course Myrrh." Ephriam nodded. Looking down at his wife and then at his child got Ephriam thinking.

"Gods. What would my father say?" He laughed.

I am not sorry for writing this. Have a good day.
