Summary: The Garou Knights are sent to retrieve the king's crown back from Natsu only to make a disturbing discovery about the fire dragon slayer.

When the Garou knights were asked to retrieve the crown jewels back from Natsu Dragneel, they almost fainted on the spot and refused their king, but then that would be disloyal and treasonous and rather cowardly, and those were the three things they definitely weren't. Therefore they chose to pull straws and the two with the shortest ones would go and do the job. Much to their despair it was Cosmos and Kama. Though Cosmos begged, wept, and pleaded with everyone to take her place….
Anyway! It was one dark, silent night, they slipped through the forest towards Natsu Dragneel's cottage. They snuck in with ease. After all there was no lock on the door or any other security measure like wards or anything.
"This moron managed to steal the crown?" Kama said disbelievingly.
It really shouldn't surprise him, Natsu Dragneel had proven to be one of the most fearsome criminals he had ever met but still! Surely this moron who had no clue about security should be able to break in.
"Urgh!" Cosmos shuddered as she eyed the filthy floor, mouldy walls, and dusty covered shelves in disgust. "This place is so ugly! Let's just get the crown and get out of here."
"Definitely," Kama agreed. He didn't want to stay here nay longer than he had to either. "The quicker the better," he murmured quietly, "we can't wake Natsu Dragneel up or we'll never get the crown back."
He then promptly tripped over a stray stone, fell onto the ground, landed on some pots and pans that had been strewn across the floor, and caused a huge banging noise. Honestly, it was as if someone up there hated him.
"Lucy!" Natsu Dragneel suddenly cried out as he sat up from his hammock excitedly. "You've come to take me back to your awesome be- hang on, you're not Lucy!" he said the last bit accusingly, as if it was the greatest crime in the world to not be Lucy Heartfilla.
"Really?" Cosmos said sarcastically. "What gave it away that we weren't your precious, and totally adorable, Lucy? And where is she? I would much rather deal with that pretty face than your ugly mug!"
If this wasn't a serious situation Kama would face palm and consider throttling Cosmos for being so shallow at such a dire time. Natsu stared at them darkly which caused the pair of them to gulp. He wasn't going to murder them, was he?! "Who the hell are you guys?!" Natsu suddenly blurted out.
Eh? Didn't he remember them?! At all?! Oh now that was just offensive! They remembered him! They still had nightmares about him!
"We're the Garou Knights," Kama said proudly, "the executioners of Fiore."
Natsu blinked dumbly. "The who?"
"The Garou Knights!" Cosmos shrieked. "We just met last month!"
Natsu blinked dumbly again and this time scratched the back of his head. "We did?"
"Yes," Kama said stiffly. "We fought a dangerous battle beneath the castle dungeons. How could you forget?!"
"Well you're not really that significant in my life," Natsu shrugged uncaringly. Both Kama and Cosmos sort of collapsed under the word 'insignificant'. How were they insignificant to this bastard?! He took up their entire life right now as they were trying to get over the trauma he and his friends inflicted on them! "So why are you here?"
"We've come back to get back what you've stolen."
"Which thing?" Natsu asked stupidly. "I've stolen a lot."
Kama felt his soul leave his body, how could someone be so uncaringly about their crimes?! "Criminal…" he murmured.
"You once stole something very precious," Cosmos explained impatiently. "We have come to take it back."
"Oh…" Natsu blinked again. "Well you can't have it."
"What?!" Cosmos and Kama both shrieked, horrified. They had been hoping to just steal it back, but failing that they were hoping to play this moron's stupidity against him and just talk him into giving it back.
They didn't want to fight!
"I said you can't have it," Natsu repeated slowly, as if he thought they were the stupid ones….how insulting. "It's mine."
"Then I have no choice but to take it by force."
Natsu's fist suddenly lit up in flames. Kama really didn't like the look in his eyes, it suggested that they should turn round and run away now. "Bring it on," Natsu smirked, "I'm all fired up."
After a very long, ferocious battle, where Natsu Dragneel had far too much energy and power having been asleep mere seconds ago, eventually they had no choice but to give up or that Dragneel bastard probably would have killed them. They had no doubt that he would kill them. He was that vile and secretly evil…..with a sinister smile.
"Okay, fine!" Kama yelled desperately. "We give up! We won't take it from you!"
"I don't believe you!" Natsu snarled back with an animal ferocity. "You're going to take it from me!"
"It didn't belong to you in the first place!" Cosmos protested.
"I don't care!" Natsu growled. "You're not having Lucy's maid dress!"
"You…WHAT?!"
"Or Lucy's underwear!"
"WHAT?!"
"Or Lucy's-"
"Look," Kama could feel an aneurysm coming on. Please come quicker, he pleaded, I'd rather die than deal with this idiot. "We're not here for anything that used to belong to Lucy." Why would they want something from the blonde celestial mage who, if you ask Kama, wasn't all that impressive, he didn't know but if it meant that Natsu wasn't going to kill them? He'll reassure him persistently that he can keep all of Lucy Heartfilla's things. "We're just here for the king's crown."
"Oh that," Natsu laughed, "I forgot I took that." How do you forget that you have stolen the crown jewels?! "It wasn't as awesome as that pumpkin mask. Lucy looked really cool in it." What was wrong with this guy? To think a pumpkin mask was better than a crown? "I think I threw it somewhere over there," he gestured to a very large pile of rubbish that included fish bones, dirty underwear, and some rubbish that Kama didn't want to think about. Cosmos screamed at the sight of it as her eyes bulged out of her head. Kama knew the feeling, he was rather certain his eyes were doing the same. "I needed room for Lucy's wedding veil."
Why is a woman's wedding veil more important than the crown jewels?!
Was something, Kama did not scream out loud. Along with 'you need therapy' and 'if Miss Heartfilla is married why are you being an obsessive creep over her?; something told him if he said any of those things, Natsu would fight them again.
"…Right." Was all he could say instead.
They took the crown, after they finally found it under Happy the cat who was complaining about Natsu's snoring making him hide in the rubbish for sleep, and ran for it before Natsu Dragneel could change his mind. Before they left Magnolia for good though they made an appearance at Lucy Heartfilla's front door. The blonde mage blinked at them blearily and when she realised exactly who they were, she screamed.
"I didn't commit a crime!"
"We know," they reassured her, "we just came by to offer some advice."
"Huh?"
"Do yourself a favour and get a restraining order on Natsu Dragneel."
"EH?!"
