When Hawks is banished by his family, his younger sister runs away from her duty right into a young Deku's arms. Deku and Bakugo embrace their first chance to be heroes and protect Kuri and Reiko from the horrors of family honor. But when they realize that the duty the girl is trying desperately to avoid is the very thing holding villains in check, will they be able to stop them?

14. Bus Ride

Kuri hefted her giant backpack on her back

Todoroki leaned over. "Let me help you."

"No way!" Kuri denied. "Everything is training shoko!"

"She's got a point Icyhot." Bakugo shot back.

"You got it Kuri?" Deku smiled at her.

Kuri laughed, then looked at Deku. "Ooh! Zu Cmere!" She du into her bag.

"What's up?" Deku turned to her.

Kuri handed him some gloves. "These will temporarily repair the nerves in your arms and hands, until I can do it myself. Prolonged use will heal them completely. So you can SMASH!"

"Oh! Thanks!" Deku grinned at her and took them.

"Sheesh you need to be more careful."

"I try!" Deku pouted.

"You always do!" Kuri admitted.

"Please take care of yourself ok?" Kuri looked up at him.

"You do the same." Deku said firmly.

Bakugo leaned over next to Reiko. "Reiko. You prepared for this?"

"Yep! As ready as I'll ever be!" Reiko beamed at him.

"I'm gonna kick ass!" Baku pumped his fist. "You got any hot Cheetos for me?"

Reiko handed him a bag. "I got one for myself too!"

Bakugo munched happily. "Damn! That's good."

Reiko laughed. "You like spicy stuff!"

Bakugo grinned. "I love 'em!"

Reiko giggled a bit.

Bakugo pet her, and she nuzzled him.

Kuri settled in her seat next to Todoroki, peeking at Deku.

Deku smiled at her.

Kuri waved, but Todoroki grabbed her arm.

"You need to be careful." Todoroki cautioned. "If rumors spread about you and midoriya he could be hurt."

"I get it." Kuri sighed. "We're just friends. I won't go further. I promise. And I won't…I won't let her hurt you either shoko."

"You still need to be careful. I can handle myself…." Todoroki replied.

Kuri touched his cheek. "Be strong. Everything will end once I achieve shikon. When I finally earn it, she will be powerless. I just have to prove myself as a miko. This sort of thing…avoiding one's true desires and such…that's holy right?"

"That's her version of holy….it shouldn't be yours."

Kuri smiled sadly. "But she must be a very sad old woman then, ne?"

The bus stopped and they got off.

Kuri flew out real fast. "I hate being caged like that!" She buzzed around like crazyl

Bakugo waved his hands around his head, annoyed. "Oi bird bitch! Calm the fuck down!"

"Sis calm yourself please!" Reiko attempted.

"Kuri come down here!" Deku called.

"Kaaaay." Kuri came down.
