YouTube Prompt: A Natsu/Lucy video to 'Makes this Go On Forever' by Snow Patrol.
It was Lucy's choice for the next job and much to everyone's surprise she had chosen to battle a monster.
A group of sirens were tormenting a seaside village and the reward was very high. At first they were worried at how they would battle such a monster but Lucy smugly revealed, once again, her secret mine of knowledge when concerning ancient magic, and they were all (including Lucy's spirits) prepared with candle wax ear plugs to block out the bewitching call of the siren.
They had almost beaten them all thanks to Loke's blinding power, Erza's fearsome swordsmanship, Gray's sneaky attacks, Wendy's breath attacks and of course Natsu's fire power. Natsu was certainly enjoying this (as was Erza and Gray, the three of them were sadistic when it comes to battles…..but then Lucy could hardly talk she was inwardly singing about her rent money as she kicked each siren into one of her team mate's attacks) and unfortunately got a bit too fired up as a strange, thick, liquid started to leak out of his ear.
Lucy looked on horrified as Natsu's wax ear plugs melted out of his ears instantly. Now he was susceptible to the Siren's magic!
He gazed at the Siren who began to sing, she assumed so, it was hard to hear with a load of candle wax in your ear (which was kind of the point), and then, obviously, transformed into whatever it was Natsu desired the most.
(Which was probably a sixty course meal made entirely of meat but still it was a trap that was going to get the moron killed!)
"Natsu!" Lucy cried out desperately. "Don't fall for it! Whatever she is, isn't rea-"
To her surprise Natsu just punched the siren with a flaming fist, and therefore successfully knocking out the last one. Erza swopped in and gagged the creature before she could awaken, and the others cheerfully took out the wax from their ears.
(Urgh. It felt terrible. Lucy was definitely going to be washing her ears out thoroughly tonight.)
"Of course I knew she wasn't real," Natsu laughed as if they were the stupid ones, "she might be able to turn into Lucy but she couldn't really be Lucy."
"Wait," Lucy blushed, "what?"
"Lucy could never be that pretty in real life."
"What was that?!"
"After all, look at Lucy now," Natsu waved an arm at Lucy, "she's a bit spotty, bloated, and her hair is a little greasy but come on! That Siren could never be Lucy. She smelt like rotten fish for a start while my Lucy-"
Lucy hadn't really be listening after she head 'spotty, bloated, and her hair is a little greasy' after all it as that time of the month and she was rather sensitive about her appearance (as she was any other time of the month. There was some truth when Happy called her vain). So when Natsu insulted her, she couldn't help but valiantly hold back tears of rage as she swiftly kicked from behind into the sky.
"LUCY KICK!"
"What the hell?!" Gray yelped. "the guy just practically admitted you're the one thing he desires more than anything, and that he thinks you're prettier, even at your worst, than a the most supernaturally, glamorised, beauty in the world…..and you kick him?"
"He called me spotty, bloated, and greasy!" Lucy snapped in her defence.
"I agree with Lucy," Erza said as she tied the sirens up together, "no one should call a fair lady any of those words."
"Women," Gray threw his hands up in the air derisively. "They have about as much sense as a grain of-"
Unfortunately Gray never got to finish his thought as Erza swiftly punched him in the mouth. She had, in fact, punched him so hard that he flew across the village and hit his head against a barn before collapsing into unconsciousness.
Lucy, however, flushed as Gray's words sank in. Natsu thought she was prettier than any stunning fake image the siren conjured, and trust her sirens were good at making beautiful hallucinations, and….and he desired her. Her cheeks burned as she struggled to deal with this realisation. "Tee hee," Happy giggled in her ear, "he liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes you!" he teased.
"LUCY KICK!"
It is needless to say that the girls had to drag the boys' unconscious forms back to the guild building. Charle, especially, was incredibly unimpressed with the additional weight and burden this caused.
