Chapter 5

"Get away from her." Remus Lupin growled.

Harry stared at him, emotions swirling in himself. The last time he talked with Remus was at Grimmauld Place, and it didn't end nicely either. He remembered his world's Remus lying in the Great Hall next to Tonks, their hands still untwined and their expressions looked so peaceful he could have mistaken they were sleeping.

He felt the tears threatening to come and resumed his hourly mantra. 'Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry.'

"Dad!"

Harry jumped and his jaw dropped. Dad? Did the girl just call Remus dad?

"Millie, come here!" Remus called, his wand still pointed threateningly on Harry.

A man stepped out of the bush behind him and trained his wand on Harry, a man with long curly hair and a very handsome yet intimidating face that knocked the wind out of him by just looking: Sirius Black.

A woman with short brunette hair and ocean blue eyes walked out from behind a tree, her wand was also pointed at him. Harry recognised her from the photo Sirius had given him: Marlene McKinnon.

Another man jumped down from a tree with his wand, ready to attack. Harry felt his heart clench painfully. He had a strong jaw, chestnut brown eyes, glasses and the familiar mop of dark hair that stuck up in the back: James Potter.

A new woman stepped out from behind James, her emerald eyes shining in determination and her flaming red hair flying in the wind. Harry felt a single tear escape his eye. Lily Potter.

Another familiar woman came from his right, nearly making him gasp in shock. She had snow-white hair and a pale, tear-streaked face: Narcissa Malfoy.

"Dad, don't!" Millie exclaimed, stepping in front of Harry. He was surprised but didn't say anything.

"He saved me!"

"Wait, what?" Remus asked, astonished. His expression softened a bit but he didn't lower his wand.

"He saved me, and was about to take me back to you." Millie explained.

Remus blinked then slowly, yet suspiciously, lowered his wand. The others surrounding them did the same. Millie was about to run to her father when Harry suddenly stopped her.

"Ask him something only you two would know."

"What?" Father and daughter exclaimed.

"Just do it." Harry said to Millie, who looked doubtful for a second but obliged.

"What did you give me before I left for my first year at Hogwarts?"

"The moon necklace, so it will always remind you of me." Remus said, cracking a smile.

"Is that enough for you?"

Harry shrugged.

Remus ran to her and flung her arms protectively around her. "God, I thought I lost you…"

"M' fine." Millie's voice was muffled from being pressed to her dad's chest. "M' okay."

"Forgot about me already?" Said Narcissa, grinning cheekily.

Harry blinked. This Narcissa sounded so different from her counterpart. Millie, however, gave a small laugh (that sounded a lot like her dad's) and hugged her.

"You scared me to hell, hon," Narcissa murmured.

Mille laughed again. "I told you, mum, I'm fiiiine!"

Harry was trying hard not to faint. Remus and Narcissa? Narcissa Malfoy? The git called Draco Malfoy's mother? The Bastard - Lucias Malfoy's bloody wife? He reminded himself that he was in an alternate universe, but the thought of Remus and Draco Malfoy's mother together was nauseating and difficult to understand.

'This world's mental.' He thought to himself.

The others who surrounded Harry approached the united family and gave small hugs and reassurances. Harry stood there silently, but kept his sole focus on his parents. His dad was looking tired, with small bags under his eyes but still very handsome. Harry felt proud to have inherited his looks. His mum was checking Millie's arms and face for injuries, but found none, so she hugged her. Her shiny green eyes glistened in the moonlight.

Harry tried to stop the tears coming. His parents were here, but they didn't know him. A small part of himself was jealous of the attention they were giving Millie, but another part reminded them that it wasn't his own parents. He felt his face suddenly wet and brushed them off his mask before they could notice.

"Aunt Lily, I told you, I'm not hurt." Millie said in exasperation.

'Aunt Lily…' Harry thought dreamily. Millie then said something that snapped him out of his trance.

"If anyone's hurt, it's him."

The adults all turned to look at him. Harry felt his cheeks burning and felt glad that he had a mask. Then to his enormous shock, Narcissa ran over and hugged him.

"Thank you," she mumbled. "Thank you for bringing her back to us."

Harry stood stiff, feeling awkward from the sudden contact. He felt relieved when she let go of him.

"Why do you wear that mask?" Sirius asked, studying him.

Harry swallowed the lump in his throat. This Sirius sounded a lot like his, and he didn't trust himself to speak.

"I prefer to keep myself disguised." He said in a strangled voice. A part of him was screaming to hug his godfather but he pushed the temptation away.

"Who are you?" Marlene asked.

"I told you, I prefer being unknown."

"Unknown, disguised, whatever- where are you hurt?"

"I'm fine." Harry said, a bit taken aback by the kindness the once cold, evil Narcissa Malfoy was showing.

"Like hell he is, he got hit by a cruciatus curse." Millie grumbled.

The adults gasped, Harry hated the look of sympathy and pity in their eyes.

"I told you, I'm fine." He insisted.

"You got hit by a torture curse by saving my daughter," said Remus, frowning as Harry looked away. He had been the best at sensing emotions, but this boy seemed to be masking his pretty well. "this is the least we can do to repay you."

"But-"

"Please," said Lily. He looked up to her, their nearly identical eyes connecting. After undergoing his animagus transformations, his eyes have been brighter and seemed to glow.

Even though they weren't the same, Lily felt a tingling sensation as she looked into his eyes and a sudden need to protect him. She blinked rapidly at the sudden eerie glow emitted from them.

Harry heard the desperation in his mother's tone and swallowed.

"I-"

"Am going to get checked up." Narcissa cut in. "I'm a professional healer, I'll do it for you without expense."

Harry blinked at the news of Narcissa belting a healer. The same person was a death eater in his dimension, it's very strange how universes go. Plus, he was very tired, hungry and his entire body was throbbing. Also, a regular appointment would cost a few galleons, and Harry didn't have any. A little check up won't hurt, right?

He sighed as he finally gave in and nodded. Narcissa smiled brightly.

"The wards ended a little back there," said James, nodding behind him. "No worries though, ready to go?"

James held out his hand. Harry stared at it, panicking a bit. Should he? He already agreed, and if he changed his mind Narcissa might throw a fit. He swallowed, grabbed his supposingly father's hand and disapperated.
