Adams had informed Simmons that she had until tomorrow to read Johnson's files, and that until further notice she would be assigned a bunk and office in the basement, and she couldn't contact anyone, Adams had even taken her phone. Then she had been given a keycard and shown her new office and bunk, which were actually really nice, considering where she was, she was then left alone.
By the next morning Simmons didn't feel too well, she had read every word of every file, so she hadn't slept, not that she thought she could.
"Good morning, Agent Simmons, how far have you reached in your reading?" Adams asked when Simmons entered the kitchen in the basement.
Simmons jumped, not having seen the older woman, swallowing as she turned to the woman.
"Good morning, I am done, ma'am." Simmons said.
"That was fast, there was a lot of information in those files," Adams said looking at Simmons.
"uh, yes, um, I read fast," Simmons answered, causing Adams to give Simmons another look over.
"Okay, well shall we see if young Daisy is awake yet?" Adams said with a smirk.
Simmons nodded, she knew she had to play along, so she pulled on all that Bobbi and May had taught her. She knew she had to make it seem like all that what she had read and what she knew was about to happen wasn't affecting her.
Adams picked a bucket of water up from the table, and Simmons saw an empty bag of ice, so that she knew that water must be very cold, but she wasn't sure what Adams was going to be doing with the bucket of ice water.
Simmons followed Adams anyway, they stopped in front of the door to the room Daisy was in.
"Are you ready to wake Daisy up?" Adams said with a smirk and a glint in her eye that Simmons didn't like, but swallowing, Simmons nodded.
"Yes, I am ready," Simmons said.
"Good," Adams said. Putting the bucket down, Adams unlocked the door, picked the bucket up, slammed the door open, marching in with Simmons on her heel, and right over to where Daisy was trying to get up to a sitting position, looking like she was in pain, and that the bang from the door hitting the wall woke her up.
"Wake up," Adams barked at Daisy and dumped the cold water over Daisy, who flinched at the cold water but didn't make a sound.
Daisy got in a sitting position, but she was looking at Adams' boot. Adams kneeled in front of Daisy, using her hand to make Daisy look at her.
"Look me in the eyes," Adams ordered coldly, Daisy did as she was told, Adams sighed unhappily, shaking her head.
"You have disappointed me and Whitehall, we have just gotten your head on straight not that long ago," Adams said, pushing Daisy's head away from her hand, standing up looking down at Daisy who was looking down again.
"Lucky for you, we have one more person who will help you to stay in line, but first, you killing Bakshi will be punished, you knew he was useful to Whitehall," Adams said, she then looked over at Simmons who had been quietly observing.
"Agent Simmons, come here, I have something for you," Adams said, and now the smirk was back. Simmons walked slowly over to them and Adams then handed her a remote. Simmons saw in the corner of her eye that Daisy had looked up, and when she saw the remote, she tensed.
"You have read about the chip we have in Daisy, this remote controls it, I want you to give Daisy a little shock, so she will know she answers to you, just like myself and Whitehall have one, and it's only the three of us," Adams said looking at her expectantly.
Simmons looked down at the remote, then up at Adams, then Daisy, then with shaking hands set the remote on low, and pressed the button. Daisy tensed, and Simmons could see that it was hurting her.
Simmons then pressed the button to stop the shock waves, and Daisy's shoulder dropped, and she took a deep breath. Simmons looked away, Adams gave her a clap on the shoulder.
"That was a good start, but you need to be harder on her, or else she won't be obedient to you. It will take time, it took myself and Whitehall a few years, and a lot of different techniques, as you read in the files, but I know you will get there." Adams said.
"Now, Daisy, get up and follow," Adams ordered, she also gestured Simmons to follow.
They walked down a few hallways, Daisy was still only in her underwear. Adams walked in the front, with Daisy behind her, still only looking at the ground, and Simmons was walking behind Daisy. She could see the scars on her back, she knew it was from a whip, she also knew when and why she had them. Every scar had been documented, Hydra seemed to have documented everything about Daisy's body ever since they had gotten their hands on her eleven years ago. She couldn't imagine how scared eight-year-old Daisy must have been, she also knew that the girl didn't have any family, since they took her from an orphanage.
They stopped in front of a closed door, Adams opened it, she looked at Daisy, and the look on Adams face had Daisy take a small step back. At that action, Adams narrowed her eyes, stepped closer to Daisy, and drew her arm back, and before Simmons could even understand what was going on, Adams had slapped Daisy hard across her face.
"You know not to draw away from me," Adams snarled at Daisy. Daisy gave Adams a small nod, which seemed to please her.
"Sit down," Adams ordered, moving aside so Daisy could move into the room, Adams followed right behind her, and Simmons went into the room after them.
In the middle of the room was a metal chair that Daisy went over to, she stopped before sitting down.
"Daisy!" Adams barked from a table with a helmet and wires by the wall to the left, Daisy shook her head before sitting dawn.
Adams walked over to Daisy with the helmet and wires, she put it on Daisy, then she locked the restraints that were attached to the chair around Daisy's wrists and ankles. She then stood up and walked over to Daisy's right side, to where a panel was situated behind a glass wall, which showed a small room with a door to the room they were in right now, and a door on the opposed side, that Simmons assumed was to the hallway
"Oh Simmons would you please close the door and come over here," Adams said, and even if it sounded as a question, Simmons knew it was an order, so she just gave Adams a nod and closed the door and walked into the small room that Adams had kept open, once she was inside Adams closed the door.
"You have read in Daisy's files that Hydra's normal way of making people comply doesn't work on her, this is the machine I have created, and it does work, but it seems that it's starting to wear off. She has just been through a session, but that was only a short one, this one will be a longer, and I want you to take notes, so you can do this when I'm not here," Adams said, and went over to the panel, where a notebook and a pen were, which she gave to Simmons, and began to explain what the panel did.
