Mikey, Raph and Ming stood outside a vent shaft that would lead into police HQ. Raph seemed to need to take a moment to gather his courage, before climbing in, followed by Ming and Mikey.

Once in, Ming watched as Vern actually made himself useful and distracted some of the officers. April and Casey moved in, wearing caps and carrying a fake ID for April. Mikey was downloading it into the system, since the group didn't include their usual technical genius.

"Hurry, Mikey." Raph pressured.

"I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying." Mikey snapped back.

Successfully, the fake ID downloaded into the system, and April and Casey made it through. From there, as April and Casey made their way upstairs to the highest level of the building, where the mutagen was being held.

Ming had a nagging feeling things were going to go wrong. Something felt wrong.

Her suspicions were confirmed when a couple Foot soldiers appeared holding the ooze canister.

"Damn..."

"Great." Raph growled. "We gotta head them off."

As the three scrambled through the vents and down the elevator shaft to cut the Foot off before the exit, Mikey got on the phone with Donnie. All Ming really comprehended was Donnie saying over the speaker phone that they were on their way.

They stopped just above the lobby, as they could see the Foot use some sort of sound device that hurt Ming's ears. There was an open vent. Raph moved towards it.

Ming couldn't hear what her brothers were saying, because of the sound. It didn't seem to affect them.

Before she could react, Raph had jumped out of the vents, Mikey right behind him.

"NO!" They had just jumped in front of cops and exposed themselves, making themselves vulnerable.

The high-pitched sound the Foot's device had been making was now gone, but Ming's ears rang nevertheless. She pulled her balaclava up a bit higher and leapt down after them.

This was going to be very, very bad.

Raph and Mikey ran towards the retreating ninjas, just as Donnie and Leo crashed through the window, knocking the ninjas down. One slid to Raph, the one holding the canister. Raph grabbed the canister and grinned.

"Raph, what are you doing?!" Leo gasped.

"FREEZE!"

Oh. No.

The cops had recovered from the shrieking device and had their guns out. "Freeze! Get down on the ground!"

Ming shuddered, slowly sinking to her knees as Mikey and Raph did the same. She bit back tears. This was it. Any second now, the cops would grab her, pull off her mask, and then drag her away from her brothers- her family- forever, either locking her up in jail for some felony that had to do with breaking into police HQ, or they would send her to a foster home. Even worse, she could only imagine what horrible, twisted experiments they would perform on the turtles-

"Don't shoot!"

Ming snapped from her worries, as April and Casey blocked the cops, hands raised in surrender. "Don't shoot! Please, don't shoot!"

April turned to the turtles and Ming. "Go! Go now!"

Ever so grateful for the news reporter that Ming once hated the guts of, the turtles made their getaway, hurrying across rooftops and into the sewers in hopes of shaking the cops off their trail, which they succeeded in doing.

Sort of...

Damien snarled in frustration. This was agonizing!

The stupid crystal had led him downtown, and then had ceased glowing again.

"What?! What do you want from me?! Do you want me to say please?! Show me where my sister is, you stupid piece of-"

"Damien?" Tweet cut him off. "Yelling won't help-"

"I KNOW!" Damien snapped, then sighed. "I... I know... I just..." He sank to his knees. This wild goose chase only left him more confused, lost and alone every hour it stretched. He just wanted to find Amingethia, his sister, his best friend who understood him and-

"Are... Are you... crying?" Rex asked. Rex was a vampire sharpshooter. Damien had recruited him to try and help. Vampires usually had excellent tracking skills.

"No!" Damien snarled. Why hadn't he just gotten Ted to help? At least the werewolf was too scared of him to ask stupid questions.

Rex perked up his head. "Hey, listen! You hear that?"

"Hear what?" Tweet asked.

"Shut up and listen."

Damien heard it. "That's just a police scanner. It's coming from the cop car over there."

"No! Listen! It said something about tracking... large turtles?" Rex grinned maliciously. "Now that sounds like fun."

"We have a job to do!" Damien hissed. "We don't have time to chase around giant mutant turtles, little mortals with gifts, guys with spiky armor, or giant alien spacecrafts in the sky!"

"Didn't have to get sarcastic..." Rex grumbled.

"Or make it personal." Tweet replied indignantly. "I could've killed that mortal back there, but noooo. His majesty wouldn't allow it."

Damien growled. "Are you testing me?" He asked dangerously.

Tweet bristled. "I'm not scared of you, Damien."

"Guys! Come on! We don't have time for this! Let's just go. Maybe there's some other way we can maximize the homing spell on the crystal." Rex pushed between the other two.

As much as he wanted to fry the insolent ghoul, Damien knew Rex was right. They didn't have time for this. "Fine." He started walking in the direction the crystal had last indicated, towards police HQ. Maybe there were some clues there...
