Randy stood in line for the Peanuts Show. They were the first in line. He spoke to his children. "Now, you mind daddy and Uncle Dean. Mizzie and I will meet you at the petting zoo. Here is twenty dollars each, for souvenirs. That's all you get. I love you monkeys." Randy hugged and kissed each child as he gave them their money.
"Thank you, dad!" All four chorused. "We love you." They again chorused as Randy and Mike walked away, hand in hand.
"Kids, let me hold on to that for you. You don't want it to get lost." Dean held out his hand.
James laid his twenty dollars in Dean's hand. "He's right, guys. Jan lost all her money in Saint Louis once, remember?"
"Yeah, I remember. I couldn't buy anything fun." Janice quickly handed Dean her money.
Dean soon had the eighty dollars tucked deeply in the front pocket of his jeans with his own wallet. "Very good. All you have to do is ask and it's yours."
Adam shook his head. "You are very lucky children. I had to pick up dirty dishes in a restaurant to earn my money."
James looked at his daddy. "We are lucky, daddy. Not about money. We are lucky we have a dad that loves us. So many of our friends with busted up parents don't have that."
"You are a very wise little lion, James. Oh, the doors are about to open." Dean noted as costumed characters from the Peanuts comic strip opened the doors to the theater. They happily waved for the line of people to enter.
Shane McMahon sat in his car at the last stop light before home. His phone alerted to a text message. He quickly opened the message and read it.
When the light turned green, Shane turned the corner, turned the car around and headed back in the direction he'd just come from. He hoped he could get there in time, fuck going home.
Back at Worlds of Fun, Randy and Mike spoke to Ted and Cody. The couple had happened to be going to the same ride as their boss and his lover. Of course, it wasn't really by chance, they only wanted it to appear that way.
"Any sign of anything?" Randy asked as the foursome casually walked to the part of the park where their chosen ride was located.
Ted spoke low. "Nothing. We lost them for a few minutes, but, we've got eyes on our two again. They are headed over to get ice cream." He nodded in the direction Bálor and Barrett had gone.
"Good. Make sure Brett knows his only concern is the children. I have a feeling in my bones. The problem is, McMahon's bastards know we can't use any weapons, or make a scene. I hope I am wrong. Just be ready for anything. Mike, I want to head to the petting zoo. I want plenty of time to check it out. Ted, tell AJ and JoMo to head there as well, but stay out of sight. If one hair on my children's head is harmed, it will be the last thing McShit ever does." Randy spoke softly, but the authority in his tone of voice boomed like thunder.
Cody nodded. "Will do, boss. Don't worry, they wouldn't dare do anything so stupid. We'll head over there after you." For all his outward, childlike behavior, Cody was actually one of the most deadly lieutenants. He could even give Brett DiBiase a run for his money at the gun range.
Ted nodded in agreement with Cody's words. "I will message Brett. Relax, Randy. Let us do the worrying. The kids will pick up on it from you. James and Janice especially."
Randy sighed and rolled his neck. "Yes, you're right about that. Sometimes I swear James is twenty seven not seven. Come on Mike, let's go." He took hold of Mike's hand. Instead of following Ted and Cody, they went down the path that led to the part of the park where the petting zoo was.
Wade Barrett and Finn Bálor sat on a bench, under a tree, close to but not to near the petting zoo area. They had trailed Randy and Mike. They were surprised the four brats weren't with them.
"Maybe they are at a show or something. I'm sure the brats will show up. Randal Orton is not the petting zoo type." Wade spoke with a shrug.
Finn looked at Wade. "You're probably right. Wade, are you alright? Do you need some water or something?" He thought Wade looked a bit pale.
Wade sighed. "I am alright. Okay, I know what I am in our world, but, I have...feelings. I miss him Finn, even more so since I found out about her. I...I'm scared, Finn. I don't want to be alone and pregnant. I'm sorry if that makes you think I am weak. As I said, I may be...a killer, but I am still a human."
Finn softened. "You are not weak, Wade. That is only a part of who you are. You loved Alberto and he loved you. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but I think you need to hear it. Alberto spoke to me a couple of days before...you know. He wanted to practice his proposal to you. He spoke of his love for you, and how he hoped the two of you could live a long and happy life. He was besotted with you. It really bothered him to be told to flirt with Adam, in front of you. Keep that in your heart, Wade."
Wade smiled at Finn. "Thank you for telling me. I wasn't ever sure if he had marriage on his mind. It means a lot to me. I wish he had...at least I would have had a ring to pass on to his daughter." He sighed again but did feel a bit better about things.
Finn smiled again. "I have it. I was eventually going to give it to you, but I wasn't sure the time was right. I will give you the ring when we get back. Alberto wanted to make sure you didn't find it by accident. He gave it to me to keep it safe. I can't tell you what it looks like. The box is in a sealed envelope. It wasn't my place to open it."
"Thanks, Finn. It would mean the world to me. Alberto said you were a good friend, and he was right. We'd better start to pay attention, the shows will be over soon." Wade quickly switched back into "killer" mode.
The Peanuts show ended. Adam and Dean beamed with pride. Jan had been chosen to go up on stage to be part of the last song and dance. She took a bow as "Charlie Brown" held up her arm in celebration.
When the curtain fell, Adam picked Jan up and carried her down from the stage. "I am so proud of you, honey. Did you have fun?" Adam kissed Jan's cheek.
"Yeah I did. Did you take a picture for dad?" Jan asked as Adam set her down.
"I sure did I also got it on video." Dean stated as he patted his phone in his pocket.
"Jan! You did great!" Jade happily hugged her sister.
"Yeah, you did." "Great job, sis." James and Jordan spoke at the same time.
"Dean, take Jade and the boys. We will join you in a minute." Adam nodded as the held Jan's hand to keep her with him.
"Yep. We will meet you out front." Dean took the other three and left Adam and Jan to talk.
When they were alone, Adam knelt down to speak to Jan. "I am glad you got chosen to be in the show. But honey, don't give dad and Mike a hard time for missing it. Dad had no way of knowing you would be picked to go up on stage. You can tell him about it, but don't make him feel bad. Do you understand what daddy is trying to say?" Adam looked at Jan. He hoped she comprehended his words.
Jan hugged Adam. "I understand, daddy. Besides, Uncle Dean got video. Come on, daddy, I want to see it." She grinned happily.
"That's my good girl. Yes, let's go." Adam stood, held Jan's hand and went to join the others.
It wasn't long before Dean showed Randy the footage of Jan in the show. Randy beamed with pride as his daughter danced with Snoopy and Charlie Brown. When it ended, he hugged Jan.
"You danced so pretty, honey. Now I'm sorry I missed it." Randy hugged and kissed his daughter.
Jan grinned. "It's okay, dad. You didn't know I was gonna get picked. I don't mind. Did you and Mizzie have fun?"
"Yes, we did. Dean, thanks for the video. Could you send me a copy, please?" Randy gave Dean a pat on the shoulder.
Dean nodded. "No problem, Randy. Now, let's feed some goats." He gave Randy a smile.
Drew McIntyre was in the pen with the animals in the petting zoo. He was the least known of McMahon's lieutenants and he had a look that made him easily blend in. He was like a needle in a haystack.
Randy paid two dollars for cups of feed for the animals. There werebaby llamas, rabbits, goats, donkeys and miniature horses. All of them loved to be petted and fussed over.
"Kids, stay together." Adam warned as Jordan wandered off to feed a baby donkey. James went over to his brother, a baby goat followed after him and tried to steal from the cup of food James carried.
Randy and Mike helped the girls feed some baby llamas. The girls loved the soft hair of the young animals.
Adam kept his eye on his boys as Dean went to buy more cups of food. It was the best fun for two dollars. The bad part was, the petting zoo was a bit crowded with kids and adults. It was also hard for parents to keep up as kids ran from animal to animal.
Randy and Mike were focused on the girls, Dean was waiting his turn to buy four more cups of feed. Adam was with James as they fed a baby goat. Adam saw Jordan feeding the baby donkey again over by the fence. James suddenly squealed in pain.
"Baby, what happened?" Adam turned his full focus on James, who held his finger.
"He bit me. It was an accident. But, it hurted." James shook his finger.
Adam looked at his son's finger. "The skin isn't broken, neither is your finger. Guess the little rascal was hungry for little boy instead of corn." He ruffled Jame's long, dark hair.
Dean, Randy, Mike, Jade and Janice came over to Adam and James. Adam explained what had happened. Dean took a quick look at Jame's finger.
"No damage. I don't think you'll turn into a goat when the moon is full, but if you feel like butting heads or eating tin cans, let me know." Dean teased as he too ruffled James' hair.
Adam suddenly felt a cold chill go up his spine. He looked around. "Where is Jordan?" The baby donkey stood by the fence and ate corn from a dropped cup.
Adam went into panic mode. Randy was on full alert. Mike ran to the other side of the petting zoo. Dean held on to Adam. Jan, James and Jade all held hands and looked scared.
"I am sure he is here. He just wandered around to the other side." Randy spoke calmly, but the fear in his eyes was evident. Where in the hell was Brett, he was supposed to be watching out for his children. He needed to speak to his men, but how?
"Dean, take care of Adam, Jan, Jade and James. Mike and I will go check the bathrooms. Maybe he had to go. Stay here in case he comes back. If he's not in the bathroom, we will find Security. Adam, he can't have gone too far. We will find him. Dean, I am counting on you." Randy ran to Mike. They took off for the bathrooms.
Adam began to tremble. "I...just...two minutes...he was...right...there." He pointed to where Jordan had been. The baby donkey had wandered off, only the dropped cup remained.
The three remaining children clung to Adam. Adam clung to Dean. "It's alright, baby. Randy will find him. It isn't your fault. Come on, you need to sit down." Dean managed to get Adam to a bench in the shade. Jan, Jade and James sat with their daddy.
"Do not move. Daddy needs some water." Dean went to the little snack bar. He explained what had happened. The worker gave Dean a bottle of water and called Park Security.
Dean returned to the bench. He opened the water bottle. "Baby, drink Please."
Adam's hand shook, but he managed to sip some of the water. Dean spoke again. "The are calling Park Security. They will find him in no time."
"I...he...two...minutes...I...lost...my baby, my fault." Adam could barely speak he trembled so hard.
James put a hand on his daddy's leg. "They will find him, daddy. It isn't your fault, daddy. Sometimes we forget the rules. I'm sure Jor didn't mean to wander off. We love you, daddy."
Adam pulled his children in tight. Dean stood over them like a sentinel. All they could do was wait.
Brett DiBiase ran like the wind. The problem was, the man who had taken Jordan was fast and smart. He carried Jordan over his shoulder in a way that kept the boy from screaming. He stayed with crowds of people as they went deeper into the park. The one good thing, Brett was hot on the trail and he knew exactly who had Jordan.
Randy, Mike, Ted, Cody, Heath, Zack, Dolph, AJ and JoMo met behind a grove of trees in a quiet corner of the park.
"Where the fuck was Brett! How did McMahon get a hold of Jordan?" Randy wasn't just mad, he was like a raging bull on a billion milligrams of steroids.
Ted spoke on his brother's behalf. "He's got them in sight. He can't and couldn't show himself. You know that and you know why. Brett will not allow any real harm to come to Jordan, you know this Randy. They are trying to scare you. Don't let them win!" Ted defended his brother. Randy had been the one to order Brett to stay out of sight.
Randy took a deep breath. "I know, Ted. Brett is following orders. Adam can never see him, but Jordan...Adam blames himself..." Randy paused again, he was rambling. He had to center himself and think like the crime boss he was and not a frightened parent.
Randy closed his eyes, rolled his neck and shrugged his shoulders. With another deep breath, the crime boss was back. "Alright. McMahon is going to pay for this. I have to get back to Adam and the other kids. Mike, you take everyone and find my son. Ted, keep tracking Brett. I will be at the petting zoo. Find my son, or there will be hell to pay...for all of you."
Ted nodded. "I've got him..." He held up his cell phone. A blue dot moved over a map of Worlds of Fun. Brett had give Ted the tracking device as a way to keep in touch.
Randy looked at the phone. The blue dot was in the middle of the park and still moving. "I have to say, he was smart to have that. They won't take him out of the park. Ted, you're right, it's a scare tactic. Okay, I'm going." Randy took off at a run, he had to get back to Adam.
John Morrison took over the plan. "I've got something that will knock McMahon's man like a rock. It won't kill him, but he'll wish he was dead. He will be sick for days. As soon as he is clear from Jordan, I'll hit him with it. Ted, lead the way." He spoke in a deadly tone and patted the pocket of his Polo shirt.
Ted gave a nod. He looked at the tracking dot. "This way, hurry. But don't draw attention." The group of men split up and took off with one goal in mind...find Jordan Michael Orton.
Finn, Wade, Sheamus and Cesaro also followed Drew. Their goal was to keep him safe once he dumped Orton's brat in the middle of nowhere in the park. They moved quickly but not enough to draw unwanted attention. They looked like a group of friends having a fun day at the amusement park.
Finn spoke in a low growl. "Why aren't Drake and Justin here? Why aren't they helping us? Why aren't they out here in this fucking heat chasing after a pack of fucking Orton brats?"
Wade spoke as they walked. "You know why, Finn. They work with Orton's ex-bitch and the doctor. They can't afford to be seen with us. I don't like it either, but that's the way it is."
Finn glanced over at Wade. "Yeah, you're right. Sorry, I'm just...tired of doing all the work while they get all the glory. Just because their father's are higher in rank. My father busted his ass to get control of Northern Ireland. He even beat Sinn Féin into submission." He growled again.
"I know, Finn. You have to let it go. We answer to McMahon now. Come on, we have a job to do. We do this right and Madame Stephanie will make it up to us. She always has." Wade laid a hand on Finn's shoulder to calm the Irishman.
Finn smiled at Wade. "Thanks, mate. You have a very calming manner. No wonder Alberto loved you. You kept his Latin temper in check." They continued to walk and focused on the job at hand.
Randy returned to his anxious family and Dean Ambrose. He was impressed with the way Dean stood over Adam, Jade, James and Jan, like a protective angry lion. Adam still trembled and his babies looked scared to death.
"Mike went with Security. They said it was best for us to wait here. In case Jordan comes back on his own. They assured me, they always find lost children. He is wearing his ID bracelet, so when they find him, we will know." Randy lied, but he was calm, so the lie didn't show.
Adm looked at his ex-husband. "They told us...the same. Why…aren't you looking? He's…your son!" Adam was an emotional wreck. He was frantic, scared, worried and angry.
Randy sat down on the bench next to Adam after he placed Jade in his lap. "Security said they didn't need an angry, worried parent in their way. I um...kind of blew up at them...I let my IED take over for a moment. Honey, they will find him. I am glad that I had those bracelets made. You know how Jordan clams up when he is scared." He held Jade close as he spoke to Adam.
"Dad, Jordan didn't mean to break your nerve." Jade spoke with a sniff, a tear rolled down her little cheek.
Randy kissed the top of Jade's blond head. "I know, baby. My nerve isn't broken, just cracked a bit. It will be alright. I also know Jor didn't mean it. But, this is why daddy and I always say to stay together and don't wander off."
Dean had gone back to the refreshment stand to get more water. The worker gladly gave it to Dean for free. It was their job to take care of things like this. Dean returned with several bottles of water.
"Here, you little lions need some water. James, how is the finger?" Dean had knelt down to give the kids water. He was glad when they all drank a bit. Adam and Randy also drank some water. It was a hot and humid day.
James looked at his finger. "I forgot about it." He spoke with sadness. He looked at Dean and spoke again. "It's my fault, Uncle Dean. Daddy got...my finger...it's my fault Jor is gone." He sniffed deeply and tears also ran down his cheeks.
Dean put his hands on Jame's knees. "No, son. It isn't your fault at all. So don't even think that. James, you are the one your brother and sisters look to for leadership. You have to be the strong lion now. Daddy needs that help. So, be strong, be brave, be fierce, be a lion." Dean spoke with soft encouragement.
Randy looked over at James. "Uncle Dean is right, James. It wasn't your fault. Be strong for daddy. You are a brave lion. Remember when you had to hide from the bad man? Who was the one who kept Jade quiet? Who was the one that held Jan? Who was the one who kept Jordan calm? It was you, James. You are the one daddy and I count on to keep your sisters and brother in check. See son, it wasn't your fault."
"It isn't your fault, James. Daddy never once thought that. Security will find your brother. Remember when Jan got lost in the grocery store? We found her. We will always find you." Adam was finally able to speak without hesitation. He'd realized his children needed him to be strong.
James sat up straighter. He took hold of Jan's hand as she sat in Adam's lap. "They are right. Jordan will be found. We will go to Tim's party tomorrow and have a good time. Jor isn't about to miss a chance to go to Chucky Cheese now is he?"
Jan sniffed. "No, Jor loves Chucky Cheese. Why did he wander off? He knows better, James."
"Knowing Jor, he probably saw something pink and went to look at it. I bet I know! That guy selling balloons. If he had pink ones, Jor would have wanted to get one. He probably didn't even think about wandering off." James began to think logically about his brother.
Adam sat up, but held tight to Jan. "James, you are so smart. Dean, please go talk to the balloon seller. See if Jordan was there. Please?"
Dean looked at Adam. "I'll be right back. James, come with me." He held his hand out for James to take.
"Go with him, son. The balloon seller might remember Jor faster." Randy spoke to his son. It was a good front to support. He knew that wasn't what happened, but no one else needed to know that.
"Yes, go James. You will be safe with Uncle Dean. Dad, your sisters and I will be right here, I promise." Adam gave James a kiss on the cheek and sent him off with Dean.
Deep in the amusement park, Drew stopped running. He was deep in the park. A street show was taking place. A huge crowd had gathered to watch. In one swift movement, he sat Jordan down and took off before the boy even realized what had just happened.
Jordan shook himself and took a few deep breaths. The way the man had carried him had nearly made him pass out. He had to think. He needed to find a security man. He was scared.
Drew never felt the small pellet that hit him in the thigh as he ran. John Morrison laughed. He looked over at AJ Styles.
"Got him. He will be as sick as a dog in thirty minutes. He will regret what he did." John Morrison spoke with a smirk on his lips.
Brett DiBiase trailed after McIntyre. He wanted to find out exactly which of McMahon's men were involved. Brett knew Jordan would be found, Randy's men were all around him, even if they couldn't show themselves.
Randy gave a start when his cell phone alerted to a text message. He put Jade on the bench. He pulled out his cell phone to read the text.
"See how easy that was, Randal. Next time, it won't be where you can find him. Trust me, Orton, next time, one of your little brats or your ex-bitch will never be found. You will do as you are told now, won't you?"
Even though the message was unsigned, Randy knew exactly who it was from. He had to fight himself not to show any kind of emotion at reading the text message. He was brought back by Adam's voice.
"Randy! Was it about Jordan?" Adam asked in a frantic tone of voice
Randy reached over and caressed Adam's bearded chin. "No, honey. It was work related from Japan. The ID bracelet has your number, remember? Their bracelets with my number are at my house. We did that to avoid confusion remember?" He looked at Adam in earnest.
"Oh yeah, I remember. Randy, where is our baby? Maybe I should call Hunter." Adam looked at his ex with extreme worry in his hazel eyes.
Randy gave Adam another caress and a smile. "They will find him. Honey, what could Hunter do that park security can't? Most of them are off duty policemen anyway. Besides, it would worry Shawn and Megan. We don't want that." He gave Adam another smile.
Adam held Jan close. "Yes, you're right. Oh, here come James and Dean." He looked to the pair headed back their way.
James sat on the bench and put his head in his hands. Dean spoke. "Balloon man didn't see Jordan. He doesn't have any pink balloons today. James, kiddo, don't be down on yourself. It was a good thought, it just didn't work out. Hey, you were the only one that had an idea like that. It shows how smart you are. None of us thought about it." Dean ruffled Jame's hair. The boy was upset about the balloon man not seeing Jordan. He'd been so sure of it.
Randy spoke up. "Uncle Dean is right, James. It was a very good idea. It could have gone the other way you know. At least you tried. You only fail when you don't try. Remember that, son."
"Yes, dad. I was just so sure of it." James gave a sigh and sipped from his bottle of water.
Brett DiBiase laughed silently when Drew McIntyre threw up for the third time in a park trash can. He knew Morrison must have hit McMahon's man with the "virus" pellet he'd shown him. Morrison had said they were handy for giving a warning. He made his way back to where Jordan had been left. He needed to make sure park security found the boy.
Jordan looked around. He kind of knew where he was from previous visits. He wasn't quite sure which way the petting zoo was. Jordan saw a nice looking lady with a shirt that said: SECURITY. She reminded him a bit of daddy. The lady had long, dirty blond colored hair.
Jordan swallowed hard. "Ma'am? Can you help...me?" He was almost unable to talk. He was too scared.
The lady smiled. "Is your name Jordan Orton, by chance? I know some people who are very worried about you. Are you Jordan?"
Jordan held up his left wrist. "Yes, ma'am. I...want...daddy..." He didn't cry but the tears were in his voice.
The lady hugged Jordan. "You have a smart daddy to give you that. Come on, I will take you to..." She was halted by a voice that called out.
"Jordan!" Mike Mizanin ran over to where Jordan stood with a park security guard.
"Mizzie! Take me to daddy!" Jordan clung to Mike like a mad lobster.
Mike picked Jordan up and settled him on his hip. "Daddy is waiting for you. Ma'am come with us, please." He didn't put it past McMahon's men to try something else.
"Yes, of course. One moment." The lady picked up her radio and spoke into it. "Cancel the Amber Alert for Jordan Orton. I have him, with a family member. We are on our way to deliver him to the parents. Rodgers, out." She ended the call and walked Jordan and Mike back to the petting zoo.
Adam couldn't be still. He set Janice down on the bench and began to pace. He chewed on his fingers as he paced back and forth.
Dean went and stood in front of Adam. He pulled Adam's fingers from his mouth. "Calm down, baby. They will find him. This isn't helping to keep those three calm. If you don't have confidence Jordan will be found, they won't either. Tell you what, when he is back, we will go home, shut ourselves in the den and play Candy Land till we vomit. We can stop on the way home and get KFC." Dean knew Adam had a secret passion for KFC.
Adam wrapped himself around his boyfriend. "Oh Dean, I am so scared. What if...someone took him? They do terrible things to children." He spoke in Dean's ear in a barely there whisper.
Dean held Adam close. "Baby, don't. Please, just don't. They will find him. I promise. Have I lied to you yet?" He too spoke in a soft whisper.
"No, never. It's just...my baby." Adam leaned into Dean.
Dean looked over Adam's shoulder, he smiled. "Is right there." He turned Adam around. Miz carried Jordan as a security guard walked with them.
"Jordan!" Adam yelled so loud the baby animals in the petting zoo scampered in fright.
Everyone ran over to Jordan, Mike and the security guard. It was rather chaotic as they all tried to talk at once. Adam held Jordan in his arms and Randy hugged them both.
"You should be proud. He asked me for help, then showed me his bracelet. Then Mister Mizanin came over. Your son said some man grabbed him, then left him in front of the street show. He couldn't describe the man. He'd held Jordan in a way he couldn't see or scream. He's safe, that's all that really matters." The security guard explained as everyone listened.
After a lot of thanks to the guard, Randy spoke. "Let's get out of here. I think we've had enough Worlds of Fun."
Jordan was safe. Drew McIntyre was sick as a dog, his brethren helped him to the car. Randy Orton's men headed back to Randy's mansion. Brett DiBiase followed Adam, Dean and the children. Randy and Mike also headed back to the mansion.
There were plans to be made. War had just been declared. Who would win? Who would lose? And how many would be harmed in the process?
