Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles and John Morrison sat at a table in their favorite restaurant. The owner was a good friend to the Orton faction, so they knew they would be safe from harm as they ate. The owner also felt safe, because Randal Orton made sure his restaurant was protected.
"I hope he gets home before the LSD kicks in. Can't have him driving under the influence." Cody was a bit concerned. The moral side of him worried that innocent people could get hurt.
Ted grinned. "I'm sure McMahon's place isn't that far. I have to say, JoMo, I expected Bálor to scream like an Irish Banshee."
John smirked. "Told you he wouldn't feel it. That is the beauty of it. It's a soft pellet, nothing like a BB. Dad invented it for a special government project. He just made one for me too." He took a bite of his food.
Ted raised his glass to JoMo. "Here's to you and your father." He grinned and wondered what was going on with Bálor.
Finn Bálor and Wade Barrett had returned to the McMahon's mansion. Stephanie wanted everyone to meet and report. They waited for Drake and Justin to arrive.
Finn pulled at his shirt collar. "It's hot in here. Is the air con not working?" He pulled at his shirt again.
Wade looked at Finn. "It's actually quite cool and comfortable. Are you alright, Finn? You are sweating a bit." Wade grew concerned. He'd found Finn to be a good friend and liked him very much.
Finn looked at Wade and saw the concern on the man's face. "Could you get me glass of ice water, please? There should be some ice on the bar."
"Sure." Wade stood and went to the bar in the room. The ice bucket was full. Wade filled a glass with ice, the pulled a bottle of water out of the mini fridge behind the bar. He filled the glass with water and took it to Finn.
Finn drake deeply and drained the glass. "You know, I don't...feel so good." He looked at the glass of ice, the cubes seemed to grow to double sized.
Wade looked at Finn. He could see the man's eyes had dilated a bit. "Why don't you lie down, put your head on my lap."
"Yeah." Finn did just that. He settled in and nestled his head on Wade's lap. Wade gently ran his fingers through Finn's hair, to help him relax.
At the Nelson-Atkins Museum, Adam, Dean, Seth, Roman, Drake and Justin walked to the parking lot. They stopped at Adam's Kia.
"We're parked further down. This has been fun. Maybe we can get together again sometime. Adam, I would really like to see your Degas. Maybe we could bring pizza." Justin didn't want to seem too forward, but they had to get the cameras in Adam's house.
Dean and Adam looked at each other. Adam spoke. "You can come tomorrow, around one? But the kids come home at six. It's enough time to eat a slice and look at the painting." Adam really didn't mind. Maybe he could find out from Justin if he'd made a connection with Drake.
"Ro, you and Seth could come too, if you want. Have a small pizza party." Dean made the invitation with a smile to his best friend.
Roman looked at Seth. Seth nodded. Roman replied. "Okay. I'll bring a pizza too, from Tony's. Thanks, it will be fun." Roman gave Dean a pat on the shoulder.
"Okay, then see you all at one." Adam hugged Seth and Roman. He shook hands with Drake and Justin. More hugs and handshakes were exchanged.
Dean soon pulled the Kia out of the parking lot and headed back to Adam's house. Roman rode shotgun, with Seth and Adam in the back.
"So do you want to show off the Degas or quiz Justin about Drake?" Dean asked as the waited at a stop light.
"Both!" Adam and Seth said at the same time. It made everyone laugh.
At the McMahon mansion, things had a taken a turn for the worse. Finn was in a terrible state.
"Get away from me!" Finn spoke in a tone of panic. He sat on the floor, and had backed into a corner of the room.
Wade was beside himself. None on of the others were there yet and he didn't know where Stephanie was. It was if Finn was on a drug trip, but he knew that was impossible, Finn didn't even drink alcohol. No way would he touch drugs.
"Finn, it's alright. It's me, Wade. Come on, lay down again." Wade went to help Finn up off the floor.
Finn put his head in his hands and tried to get further back into the corner. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Finn screamed his words.
Drake and Justin entered the McMahon mansion. They heard Finn scream. The couple looked at each other, then ran to the lounge room where the screams seem to emanate from.
Wade stood back from Finn. He wasn't sure what to do. Wade only knew Finn needed help. Not only was Finn in a panic, the sweat poured off him. Every once in a while, Finn rubbed his chest, like he had pain there.
Drake and Justin came into the room. "What's going on?" Drake asked Wade with confusion on his face.
"It's Finn. Look at him!" Wade pointed to the distressed man in the corner.
Justin clicked into Doctor mode. "He is strung out on drugs. Looks like maybe LSD. Drake, help me. We need to get him on a bed. Wade, stay back. He could lash out and that would be bad in your condition." He pushed Wade back gently. He and Drake went to help Finn.
"Stay calm and talk softly." Justin instructed Drake. Staying calm was important.
Drake nodded. "Come on, buddy. Let's go lay down. You will be alright." He spoke softly and knelt down to Finn's level.
Finn whimpered like a small child. Both Justin and Drake slowly reached out for Finn and helped him up. Though he didn't struggle, they had a difficult time getting Finn up to one of the guest rooms they sometimes used.
They managed to get Finn on the bed. Wade stood at the door and looked on with great concern. Finn had come to mean a lot to him as a good friend.
"Let's get his pants off. I want to check for something. Wade, go tell the Butler to give you my doctor's bag. Tell him the sun sets on the Serengeti. Yeah, I know, but it's what Stephanie said to do." Justin spoke in a quiet voice.
"I will be right back. Fuck, do you think it's like Drew?" Wade asked in an anger filled voice as he thought about what could have happened.
Justin put a hand on Wade's shoulder. "There is a good chance. Tell the Butler that we also need Miss Stephanie. Hurry now, but stay calm."
Wade nodded firmly. "If it is, Orton is a dead man." He left to go find the Butler of the mansion, who was also a loyal faction member.
Justin pulled Drake aside. "I am going to remove his pants. He may try to fight me. Hold his arms down, but be as gentle as possible. If it is LSD, he could have super strength, but he could also be as weak as a kitten. I will say it again, the calmer we are, the better."
Drake looked at Justin. "Let's do it. I will be careful, but I won't let you get punched either." He moved to the bed, ready to hold Finn down if it came to that.
Justin was so good, Finn barely knew what happened. He curled up on the bed like a baby. Justin carefully examined Finn's exposed upper thigh.
"I was right. See that, a very small bruise, just like Drew. Somehow, Orton's men hit him with LSD, not a virus. This is bad. First a virus, now LSD? Who's to say next time it won't be a deadly poison?" Justin gave Drake a hard glare.
"How did this happen?" Stephanie asked as she stepped into the room. Wade came in behind her with Justin's medical bag.
Justin took the bag. "I have no idea. We were down in the museum shop, distracting, like we were told to do." He opened the bag and took out a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.
Wade spoke. "We were trailing Rhodes and DiBiase. I waited for a chance to get close enough to cut. I turned to do it, and they were gone. It's like they went up in smoke. We went to leave, to plan to try again. The only thing I can think of is, some how they hid and got Finn. He didn't feel it hit him, or he would have said something. Ma'am, I just don't know. What I do know is, Rhodes and DiBiase are as good as dead."
"In time, Wade. How the fuck do Orton's two most brainless idiots always manage to get one up on us? Someone has to be betraying us. Some one close to the top. No one knew about our plans except the seven of you. So either one of you is a fucking rat, or we have bugs in the house. I want a complete sweep of the conference room. But, take care of Finn first." Stephanie was angry, but she kept it calm for Finn's sake.
"Yes, ma'am. I just…no, none of us would even think of betraying you or your father, ever. Somehow, Orton must have gotten a bug into the house. That has to be it." Wade spoke in defense of himself and his brethren.
Stephanie looked at Wade. "I'm sure you're right, Wade. You don't need this stress. Finn is in excellent hands. Let's go downstairs and wait."
Justin looked at Stephanie and Wade. "She's right, Wade. All we can do is wait for him to ride it out. Drake and I will keep him from hurting himself. This isn't my first time dealing with someone on an acid trip. Go with Miss Stephanie, and try to keep yourself calm. You are in the most delicate stage right now. You don't want to lose the baby." He gave Wade the look of a concerned physician.
Wade nodded. "Alright. I don't want to lose the baby. I also don't want to lose Finn. He's a good friend. He gave me the ring...just…take care of him." Wade replied with his own worried look.
"He will be alright. It will be four to six hours for it run it's course. Trust me, please. I am a doctor, Wade." Justin gave Wade a soft smile.
Wade gave Justin a nod, then went downstairs with Stephanie. All they could do was wait.
Shane McMahon had heard everything, only this time, with his own ears. He'd been in the hallway, on his way downstairs. He heard it all from behind the door he'd hid behind.
Shane knew this was his one chance. He had to remove the listening device from the conference room, while people were distracted, especially his sister.
Twenty minutes later, Shane was back in his bedroom. He'd managed to retrieve the listening device. Shane hid it in the safe, behind his high school diploma on the wall.
Shane sat at his desk and wrote what he'd over heard in his little notebook. Shane knew what he had to do. He carefully wrapped the notebook in a sheet of paper with a note written on it. Shane stuck the note wrapped book into a padded envelope. He addressed the envelope to Detective Hunter H. Helmsley. He put Hunter's home address on the packet. Shane didn't want to take a risk that it would get lost in the Police Precinct mail room, or fall into the hands of anyone other than Detective Helmsley.
Shane hid the envelope under his shirt and went downstairs. He stuck his head into the lounge room where Stephanie sat with Wade Barrett.
"I'm going over to Kofi's for a while. We may go play some basketball with Xavier." Shane gave his excuse. He would go to his friends house, after a trip to FedEx, same day delivery. Stephanie barely acknowledged her brother with a slight nod. She could care less where Shane went.
Finn actually managed to sleep, off and on, due to Justin's quiet, tender care. When Finn slept again, Justin whispered to Drake.
"Go down and tell Stephanie about tomorrow. Adam's house will be wired. Maybe that will calm her down. I don't know why she thinks any of us would betray the faction. Anyway, go, but hurry back. He will wake again soon." Justin gave Drake a pat on the shoulder.
Drake gave Justin a smile, and went downstairs. Stephanie was behind the bar. She filled an ice loaded glass with tea. Wade dozed on the couch, his hands rested on his abdomen, as if to protect the baby while he slept.
Drake sat at the bar. "Finn is sleeping, but I only have a few minutes. I do have some good news." He fixed his own glass of iced tea as he spoke, at Stephanie's invitation.
"So tell me. We need some good news in this house. My father will not be pleased to hear about another faction failure." Stephanie glared at Drake, anger in her tone.
Drake nodded. "Justin and I have been invited to Adam's house for a few hours tomorrow. It will be our chance to wire his house. When Orton sees that we are watching his ex-bitch and their brats, he will bend to our will." He tried not to smirk as he spoke.
Stephanie actually managed a slight smile. "Excellent work, Mister Younger. I'll get the supplies ready for you. Adam doesn't invite just anyone into his house." She took a sip of her tea.
Drake chuckled softly. "Justin wants to see the Degas, Orton gave Adam. Dean actually encouraged it. There is one slight hitch. Adam also invited Seth and Roman Reigns. But, we will manage it. I promise." He gave Stephanie a firm nod of confidence.
Stephanie twisted her mouth in thought. "That could be good. Justin can distract while you wire the house. They are just simple microchip sized cameras. They stick and go. Just be careful in the brat's rooms. They can be curious little creatures. Better get back up to Finn and Justin. I'll tell Wade that Finn is holding on. Good work, Drake." Drake knew it was good when Stephanie used his first name and not Mister.
When Drake got back up to Justin and Finn he couldn't help but chuckle again. Finn was awake and spoke with a drug laced slur.
"Dats so purdy. Look at all da colors. So purdy." Finn fingered the the quilt that was on the bed.
Justin looked at Drake. "I'm trying to keep him positive, so this doesn't turn into a bad trip..." Justin paused as Finn flopped back down and fell asleep again. "What did she say?" He looked at Drake as he covered Bálor with the "purdy" quilt.
Drake joined Justin as they sat on the seat of the bay window of the bedroom. "She is very pleased. She's going to get the bugs for us. She wants you to distract, so I can plant the microchips. Wade was asleep. It was kind of adorable actually. He was holding his abdomen." He smiled at the memory of Wade, then deeply frowned.
Justin saw the change in his friend's expression. "Drake, what? You worried about tomorrow? Don't be, you will do just fine." He gave Drake a pat on the knee.
"No, it's not about that. I was thinking of Wade. It must be hard, now that Alberto is gone. Being alone and pregnant must be scary." Drake sighed.
Justin looked over at Finn. The man had let out a whimper, but remained asleep. "You may not have to worry about that. I think Finn and Wade have eyes for each other. They just need to admit they are more than friends."
"You mean...like this?" Drake leaned over and captured Justin's lips with his. Drake had realized that his feelings for Justin were deeper than friendship.
Justin grinned with a slight flush, when Drake broke the sweet, but intention filled kiss. "Um...yeah...just like that. Drake, do you mean it? Because I feel the same?" This time he kissed Drake.
"I mean it, Justin. I truly do. It makes me very happy to know you feel the same. So will you be mine?" Drake asked in a soft voice over Justin's lips.
Justin smiled, it caused his lips to brush against Drake's. "Only if you will be mine, too. Um…I hope you like to switch, because I love both."
Drake beamed. "I love it too. I was always the bottom to Ambrose. I could never be who I really was. Oh Justin, you've made me very happy." He pulled Justin in for another kiss. This time, he put all his hopes and feelings into it.
Justin responded with the same hope and feelings. As they kissed, sometimes Drake dominated, sometimes Justin. It felt right to both of them.
At Adam's house Dean held a naked Adam in his arms. They both tried to remember how to breathe. Dean had bent Adam over the edge of the bed and fucked him hard, rough and deep.
Adam nuzzled into Dean's neck. "Dean...you can do that anytime...incredible." Adam tried to speak as he came back to reality.
Dean pulled Adam closer. "Okay, but not when the little lions are here. All those loud moans and whimpers would scare them. You were the incredible one, my dearest." Dean kissed the top of Adam's blond head and somehow, managed to pull Adam even closer.
Adam let out a very unmanly giggle. "Yeah, I did get kind of loud. I don't care though. Dean, I am hungry, take me to Tony." He giggled again when his tummy rumbled.
Dean let out a growl. "Don't wanna move. But, if my baby wants Tony, I will take you. We need to shower first. Come on, before I change my mind." Dean moved swiftly. He scooped Adam up and carried him to the bathroom. They managed to behave as they took a shower together.
An hour later, they walked into Tony's small restaurant. Dean and Adam laughed, Seth and Roman were there. They joined their friends at their table.
Seth looked at Adam. "Best place for after sex food in all of Kansas City." He could read both Adam and Dean like books.
Adam flushed. Dean and Roman smirked at one another. "Seth, your mouth filter needs to be cleaned out again. But, yeah it is." Adam gave Seth a wink and a smirk of his own.
Dean ordered Veal Parmesan for Adam and beef ravioli for himself. They soon enjoyed the delicious food and good conversation with friends.
At Randal Orton's mansion, Randy met with AJ, JoMo, Ted and Cody at the poolside. Mike kept Janice, Jordan, Jade and James occupied with games in the pool.
Randy and his four men spoke in low whispers. "So, AJ and JoMo, you made the hit?" Randy waited for a full report of what had happened at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.
AJ spoke for the four and explained the day events in great detail. "...so, when Ted and Cody vanished, McMahon's bastards turned to leave. JoMo whacked Bálor in the thigh. The idiot never felt anything but a tiny itch. He scratched, they left. I am sure they are trying to keep Bálor from flying to the moon about now." He ended with a low chuckle.
Randy beamed at his lieutenants. "Excellent work, gentlemen. Now that we have hit them twice. They will think twice before being so stupid again. We have hopefully, put enough fear in them to think that next time, it could be poison…" His attention was diverted when Jade called out to him.
"Watch, dad! We are going to dive!" Jade waved to her dad, then dove, like Dean had taught her. Mike was right there in the deep end to make sure the children were safe after their dives.
Randy was truly proud as each child made near perfect dives. He and his four men applauded and cheered loudly.
"Very good, my monkeys. You have fifteen more minutes, then it will be time to get ready for dinner." Randy spoke with parental authority.
"Okay, dad." James called out as the spokes-kid.
Mike kept the kids attention so Randy could finish his meeting with Ted, Cody, AJ and JoMo.
"Now all we have to do is wait and see what McMahon has to say. One thing does worry me. The old man is in Chicago. I am sure he will meet with the general council. The good thing, I have more friends in Chicago than he does. Are you sure Adam saw nothing?" Randy asked, brow arched.
"Not a thing. He was with two of McMahon's men. A nurse and the child advocate. As far as Adam is concerned, they are work friends. Don't worry, Brett had eyes on them the whole time. They were probably there to divert attention from Bálor and Barrett. But of course, they never got a chance to do whatever they were supposed to do." Ted spoke with confidence. He knew Adam had been under no threat with Brett on the job.
Randy nodded. "I don't think Younger and Gabriel would dare do anything. They can't risk anything that would reveal who they really are. They think they will get more information from Adam unknowingly. Adam doesn't know anything to let slip. Just make sure Brett has eyes on them whenever they are with Adam." Randy gave his orders then looked at his watch.
"Okay you monkeys, time to get out. You need baths and hair washing." Randy waved for his children to get out of the pool.
Randy was soon involved with his children. It was when the crime boss was truly at his happiest. Mike loved it when Randy laughed and smiled so much.
At the McMahon mansion, things with Finn had taken a turn; for the worse. When he'd woken up from his latest nap, Finn went into a complete panic.
"Get away from me you demons! Leave me alone!" Finn tried to claw at Justin, but Drake had a firm hold of Finn. He wasn't about to let Finn hurt his Justin.
Stephanie stood in the bedroom doorway. Her face was etched with deep concern. "Justin, can't you sedate him?" She was afraid for both Finn and Wade. Wade didn't need to see Finn in such a state. She'd managed to keep him downstairs.
Justin took a step back as Finn tried to claw at him again. "Only as an extreme, last resort. I don't know what else was in that pellet. It might cause him to have a reaction...and it could even be fatal. We will do our best to ride it out with him. Ma'am, I appreciate that you are concerned, but Wade actually needs you more right now. Please?" He gave Stephanie a look of desperation.
Stephanie give Justin a nod. "Alright, you're the Doctor. Call if you need help. I'll take Wade out to the garden. The waterfall is very calming." She left and went downstairs.
Wade sat on the edge of the couch. He started a bit when Stephanie came into the room.
"How is he, ma'am?" Wade stood and looked at Stephanie like a frightened child.
Stephanie gave Wade a soft look. "He is holding his own, Wade. Justin is an extremely good Doctor. They are handling him gently. I promise. Come with me. Let's go sit in the garden. The fountain is lovely and relaxing. Especially with the lights on. Wade, I promised Justin I would take care of you. Please, Wade?" She spoke more like a close friend, and not his crime boss.
"Alright, ma'am. Thank you for your kindness." Wade sighed and followed Stephanie outside to the beautiful backyard paradise.
"Wade, please. My name is Stephanie. This isn't a formal meeting. I am your friend too. Now sit, I will call for some hot tea." Stephanie pushed a button on an intercom on the table. She requested hot tea and tea sandwiches.
The Butler brought a tray with hot, Earl Gray tea. The maid carried a tray with small tea sandwiches. Wade smiled.
"I haven't had a good English tea in a long, long time. Thank you, ma… Stephanie." Wade raised his cup in thanks, with a smile.
The crime boss returned the gesture. "You just relax and enjoy it. Wade, I don't say this to make you sad, but Alberto would want you and the baby to be safe. I know Finn wants that for you too." She sipped her tea like a true English lady. It made Wade smile.
Upstairs, Finn's trip was still on the bad side. Things appeared to move. Finn swore the walls breathed. Justin and Drake had to take turns holding Finn, to keep him from not only hurting them, but himself. Finn had managed to claw his own face once, before Drake could stop him. Justin would tend to the scratches later.
"Stop! Oh God! Make it stop!" Finn screamed as the table moved toward him. The drawers opened and closed like gnashing teeth.
It took both Justin and Drake to hold Finn in place on the bed. The two were exhausted and every muscle in their bodies ached, but the were determined to stick with it and see Finn through till the end. Hopefully soon, the worst would be over.
Stephanie did her best to distract Wade from the muffled screams that came from the second floor bedroom. Wade also tried not to hear them. He had faith that Justin and Drake would get Finn through it.
Later, Dean and Adam were curled up on the couch in the family den. They watched Pretty Woman. Adam had loved it when Dean said it was one of his favorite movies.
"I hope Seth feels better tomorrow. I told him the baby would object to a dozen profiteroles. Thank goodness you had your medical bag with medicine for his tummy." Adam snickered as Vivian tried to buy a cocktail dress in the snobby store.
Dean guffawed. "He will be fine. Some people have to learn the hard way. You well know, Seth is one of those people."
"Yeah, he is. I hope Drake and Justin don't stay too long tomorrow. I shouldn't have been so spontaneous. I don't mind, but I like being alone with you when the kids come home. Maybe we can hurry them along. Make it up to them later." Adam spoke with a sigh.
Dean kissed Adam's cheek. "I can call and cancel. Tell them you have a headache."
Adam shook his head. "No, it will be alright. Seth can help ease them out around five. I can't be rude." He snuggled more against Dean.
"It's up to you. At least you'll get it done and over with. Justin I like, but I still have a hard time with Drake. I guess he is trying but, I will never trust him again. At least not like I once did." Dean spoke with a shrug in his voice. It was what it was.
Adam nodded. "True. Okay, I will shush now. This is where the movie gets good." Adam loved it when Vivian stepped off the elevator in the red dress.
At the Orton mansion, Randy, Mike and the kids played video games. It was their thing with Randy, like Adam and Candy Land. There were no thoughts of the McMahon faction. Sometimes, even Randy Orton just loved to play and laugh with his children.
At the McMahon mansion, Drew and Sheamus had come to help Justin and Drake. Finn was still high, but the visions of breathing walls and man eating tables had lessened.
"I think he will finally crash soon. He will feel like hell in the morning, but that I can treat, safely." Justin declared as he sat and rested on the window seat. He and Drake sipped on cups of hot coffee.
"Why don't you go down and talk to Wade. Maybe it will ease his mind a bit." Drake suggested quietly with a sip of coffee.
"...so he will crash soon. I will be able to help him in the morning. You can relax, Wade. He is through the worst of it." Justin spoke honestly to Wade and Stephanie. They were back in the lounge room.
Wade let out a sigh. "Thanks, Justin. Thank Drake for me too. It's hard to see your friend suffering and be unable to do anything to help." He leaned back against the couch.
"It's okay, Wade. I understand. I've watched friends and family suffer with loved ones that are true addicts. That won't happen to Finn." Justin spoke firmly.
"That's terrible, Justin. I'm also glad you and Drake were here for Finn. Complete your mission tomorrow and you will both be looking at a hefty bonus." Stephanie smiled at Justin.
"Thank you, ma'am. I'd better get back upstairs. Wade, I'll call when you can come up." Justin gave Wade a pat on the shoulder, then went back up to Finn.
Shane McMahon left the FedEx Office. He had sent his package. It would be delivered first thing on Sunday morning. He'd missed the cut off time for same day delivery.
Shane prayed this would be one package that wouldn't get lost. At least he could track the delivery on a cheap disposable cell phone.
The young law student wasn't sure what would happen. All he knew was his father and sister had to be stopped before any more lives were put in danger, or even worse, lost.
Shane McMahon held no guilt in his heart. He knew it had been the right thing to do. Even if it sent his father, sister and Randy Orton to jail. He knew he could never take the lawyers oath if he just ignored it and let it go. Shane McMahon, if nothing else, was a man of integrity.
