Kaneki hadn't seen Kuri in several days when Yoshimura directed him to visit her. Was she sick?

But the address given to him wasn't where he had stayed after his surgery. Did she move?

Kaneki knocked on the door. There was a snarl, and a young woman about their age answered. "We can't entertain guests n—"

Kuri pushed past her. "Is that from Yoshimura?" She grabbed the package and jumped back inside.

"Kuri? What's…" Kaneki entered and was shocked at the sight of Nishio, still injured from before, being fussed over by Kuri and another human girl.

"Kaneki, this is Kimi." Kuri said before he could question her. "She's Nishio's girl. Thanks for the grub."

She unwrapped the flesh and Kaneki backed away a bit.

So this is what Yoshimura meant when he said Kuri was in charge of Ghoul-Human Relations?! But what drove a human, a priestess, to do such a thing?!

He sat down, stunned.

"Kaneki can you ge—" Kuri took one look at him and instead turned to Kimi. "Kimi, can you go down and get some coffee?"

"Sure thing," Kimi said, with a glance askance at Kaneki.

"Wass wrong…" Nishio slurred. "You feelin bad about doin this to me?"

"Hush Nishio." Kuri said firmly. "Conserve your strength. Eat. I know it isn't much, but until I can hunt for—"

"You HUNT?!" Kaneki said in shock.

"It's nothing so morbid." Kuri assured him. "I can usually sense a fatal injury or car crash. I can't save anyone, so this way I can at least save a ghoul or two."

Kaneki shook his head. "Your actually more into the Ghoul world than even I am."

"Yeah well. You're new."

There was a shriek downstairs.

"Did you lock the door?"

Kaneki's eyes widened.

This time it was Nishio who snarled, "DID YOU LOCK THE DOOR?!"
