Dean decided to wait to tell Adam about the plan till after Dave came back with the video of the little lions. He felt it would help Adam relax and better able to understand the plan.

"Hey future husband and Baby Ambrose. You look good. How are you feeling?" Dean greeted Adam with a love filled kiss, and gentle rub to Adam's abdomen.

Adam grinned. He sat up in bed. His neck brace was gone and in its place, wore an adjustable back brace that buckled in front. It was much more comfortable. The color was also back in his cheeks.

"My hips are killing me, but the two fusions are fine. My neck doesn't feel as compressed. At least I won't have to do this again...I hope. Doctor Dave said it should help my migraines too. It just bugs me I can't bend or lift…" Adam's happy mood quickly faded as did his words, his eyes filled with tears.

"Dean, I want my babies. How are they? Is James alright? Jade? Are Jan and Jor alright?" He hadn't let the tears fall, but they were in his voice.

Dean sat on the edge of the bed. He very gently embraced his fiance. "I know, baby. James is doing very well. You know his CAT Scan was clear. He is alert and eating. Jade is also doing well. She is eating, but not a lot at a time. You know that is normal. Jan and Jordan are doing great. Justin takes them to the playroom. James and Jade will move in with them soon. Tell you what, if you're a good boy and eat, I will take you to see the little lions tomorrow. But you need to eat, not pick." Dean spoke with love, but had that annoying doctor's tone mixed in. Dean had read Adam's chart. His baby had barely eaten anything and that was not good.

Adam sighed. "I just haven't been hungry. Dean, my children almost... and the truck driver did die. It's my fault." He picked at the hem of the sheet that covered him.

"Honey, it's not your fault. You know the driver of the semi had a heart attack. You know...the brakes were tampered with..." Dean was halted when Dave Batista stuck his head into the room.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I have something for you." Dave held out Dean's cell phone.

Dean got up and went get his phone from his fellow doctor. "Thanks, Dave. He really needs this. I appreciate it. Maybe someone will eat now." He gave Dave a wink and a knowing look.

Dave smiled. "My pleasure. They are charming. I hope so, he needs to eat." He returned Dean's wink, then went back to his work.

Dean sat back down on the bed. "Here, baby. This might cheer you up. But, you have to promise to eat." Dean found the video Dave had taken. He handed the phone to Adam.

Adam's face lit up like the sun as he watched the video. James was first. He looked like he'd been in a train wreck, but he smiled and waved. "Love you, daddy." James' voice was weak, but his smile was bright.

Jade was next. "I love you, daddy. Uncle Dean patched up my liver. But my nerve is broken because I miss you." She too smiled and curved her hands into a heart shape.

Janice and Jordan blew kisses and smiled. They also showed off their casts and pointed to the pictures Randy had drawn. "We love you, daddy. Feel better soon." They spoke in unison. Like Jade, brother and sister made a heart shape together, with their cast free hands.

Adam watched the video four times. He finally gave the phone back to Dean. "Thank you, babe. They really are going to be alright. I love so you fuckin' much." He indicated for Dean to kiss him.

Dean kissed Adam with all the love he felt. "I love you, my beautiful nymph. Hey, how about you make a video for the little lions? It would make them smile."

Adam smiled even brighter. "I'd love that, but brush my hair first? I don't want to scare them." He looked at Dean with hope.

Dean found a comb in the drawer of the bedside table. It took a bit of work as Adam's hair was badly tangled. Dean wanted to avoid pulling. After twenty minutes, Adam's hair was its normal, blond silk. Next, Dean gave Adam a warm bed bath. Lastly, Dean carefully trimmed Adam's beard. When Dean finished, Adam felt like a new man.

Adam checked himself in the small mirror Dean had borrowed from a nurse. "That feels better. You'd make an excellent nurse, Doctor. Thanks, Dean, I do feel better. Now, let me say hello to my babies."

Dean chuckled. "You look pretty handsome. I was happy to do it. Okay, here we go." Dean picked up his phone. He stood at the foot of the bed. He filmed Adam's message to his children.

"Hello my darlings. Daddy loves you very much. I am feeling fine. Daddy has to be careful not to bend. It helped my broken nerve now I won't get so many bad headaches. You all take care of each other. Daddy will come see you soon. I love you my dear, darling little lions. See you soon." Adam ended with his hands in a heart shape and blew kisses. He gave a final wave and smile.

Dean stopped the camera. "They will love that. I will show it to them later. John left a note on their charts that I can visit for a few minutes any time. He feels that my being around keeps them calm. They are doing alright. Randy comes every day at least three sometimes four times. Mike is always here. Tomorrow, I'll take you to see them before..." He let his voice fade. Dean still wasn't sure how to say it.

Adam laid back with a half smile, half grimace. He let out a groan of pain. "Sorry, my hips really hurt from the bone grafts..." he paused to take a sip of the water Dean had poured for him.

Adam smiled at Dean and spoke again. "I'm glad to know you, Randy and Mike are there for the kids. I promise, I will eat. I feel better, despite the pain Dean, I'm not stupid, before what? I can see you have something on your mind, and I know it's not about the kids. You would tell me if it was. Spit it out, please." Adam could already read Dean like a book.

Dean gave a scoff. "Oops, my baby can read the book of Ambrose. Okay… I will tell you, but please listen, let me finish, then react. Please, also remember Baby Ambrose." He placed his hand on Adam's abdomen and gave a loving caress.

"Okay, babe. I guess it has to do with the...other side of Randy?" Adam put his hand over Dean's and prepared himself for...anything.

Dean let out a sigh. "You're going to go into hiding, in the safe room at the house. You and the children are… going to vanish. Now, let me tell you why. One of McMahon's men, Finn Bálor tampered with your brakes. In order to protect you, someone from McMahon's faction came up with the idea to pretend to kill you, but the plan changed. He is going to help you vanish, to the safe room. Seth will be there to look after all of you, and of course, I will be there too. Adam, McMahon wants to kill you to get to Randy. The McMahon's informant doesn't want anything to happen to you or the little lions. So, he will help get you out of here, in secret. McMahon won't know what happened. They may think it was Randy. It may cause something to happen so that the McMahon's and Randy will be exposed, so Hunter can arrest them. You and the children will be safe and out of their way. By the way, Seth and Roman read the notebook today. Hunter and Chief Hart felt they needed to know. They took it fairly well, but were of course, shocked to find out about Randy. Baby, can you deal with this? I am worried about the stress on you." Dean explained it as best he could.

Adam just laid there and closed his eyes. "This is a bad dream, right? Somehow, I am having a bad dream about a bad movie plot. I don't want to do it, Dean. The children need the hospital. I am not afraid of anything happening here." He thought the whole thing was just… so stupid.

"Baby, they have already…look...if someone hadn't interfered you would be dead now. They want to get to Randy, through you. Adam...Justin is the one...that wants to save you." Dean had leaned over to barely whisper in Adam's ear.

Adam's eyes flew open at Dean's words. "He...is...part of it?" He too spoke in a low voice.

Dean nodded. "Yes, he is. But, he is working against McMahon. Adam, that is not to leave this room. If it wasn't for him, you might already be dead. Baby, I know this is a living nightmare, but it will save your life and get criminals behind bars. I want you, Baby Ambrose and the little lions safe. Don't you want to help put criminals in jail?" He caressed Adam's brow with one hand and his abdomen with the other.

Adam sighed. "I want them in jail, but why all this...intrigue? Justin...guess ma was right..." He went on to explain about how Judy had warned him of danger, involving Justin.

"...I heard her tell me twice Justin was danger, but now, he's helping Hunter and Bret? Dean… I'll do it, but I need to know our babies will be alright. It is going to devastate them when the truth about Randy comes out. I just...Dean, take us away from all this." Adam looked at Dean in desperation.

Dean leaned down and gave Adam a soft kiss. "We will go to Vegas, get married, then I will take you to Blue Eye for a wonderful camping trip. I promise, we will get the little lions through it. So, can I tell Hunter and Chief Hart that you will do it?" He arched his brow at Adam, with a soft smile.

Adam let out a small chuckle. "Camping in late November, early December? No, too cold for the kids. I'd be alright, Canadian blood, but not the kids. In the spring, when it warms up. Dean, will the babies be safe? Jade and James?" He wanted an answer to the question. This time his brow arched at Dean.

Dean gently squeezed Adam's hand. "I promise, the little lions will be alright. Seth and I will be right there. If James or Jade need it, I can sneak them to Mercy. Adam, I want you and Baby Ambrose safe." He gave Adam another love filled kiss, to seal his words.

Adam looked at Dean. He saw the honesty in his future husband's eyes. "Alright, I will stick by what I said. I will do it. I still can't believe all this...fucking shit. Go, show the babies their daddy is alright. I love you, Dean. Not many would put up with someone with all these… issues." Adam pursed his lips to indicate he wanted another kiss from Dean.

Dean gladly gave Adam a kiss. "I love you, Adam. I told you, back when we first went out, I would be there for you and the quads. I meant it then and I mean it now. I will never abandon you or the kids. You five are my world...well, you six now." He gave Adam's tummy a rub, then continued.

"I'll go to the little lions. James and Jade will be in with Jan and Jor by now. It's better for all of them to be together. I'll be back later. I love you so fucking much, my beautiful nymph." Dean gave Adam a more passion filled kiss.

When the kiss broke, Adam smiled. He reached up and caressed Dean's face. "I love you, so fucking much, babe. I also promise to eat every bite of my food. See you later. Dean, thank you. You're a great father and will be a wonderful husband." Adam blew Dean a kiss as the physician left the room.

Adam laid back and closed his eyes. He couldn't believe all the damage in his life...caused by Randal Keith Orton.

Dean went to room 151 on the children's ward. Just as he went to open the door, Justin opened it. He smiled at Dean.

"Oh, hello Doctor Ambrose. Just got James and Jade settled in. Jan and Jordan are fussing over them like mother hens." Justin gave Dean a polite nod as he spoke.

Dean held up his phone. "This will make them happy. Video from Adam. I won't stay too long." He returned the nod.

Justin grinned. "They will love that. Take your time, Doctor. Is Adam doing alright?"

Dean gave another nod. "Better, after he saw a video from the children. I also helped him clean up a bit. Hopefully he will fell like eating more now. Well, I'd better get in there. Thank you, Justin." The look he gave the nurse said what words could not.

Justin understood. "You're welcome. Glad Adam is better. Have fun." His look also said more. They were two men who shared a life saving secret. Justin left to tend to his other patients.

Dean took a breath and entered the private room. He smiled. Jade and James were in a double bed that had been pushed up against the double bed Jan and Jordan shared. It made a huge, nearly double king bed. Jan and Jordan sat with their siblings.

"Hello, my little lions." Dean spoke with a grin as the quadruplets looked at him.

"Uncle Dean!" Jade called out. Her voice still held a harshness, but her smile was like the sun.

Dean went and sat on the bed, after all, there was plenty of room. "How are my little lions? Glad to be together?" He gave each child a gentle caress on the cheek.

"Much better. Did daddy like our video?" Jan responded. She held Jade's hand.

Dean grinned. "Yes, he did. Your silly daddy watched it four times. Guess what. He made a video for you. Anyone want to watch it?" He held up his phone.

"Yes! Please! Yeah! Woo!" All four children spoke at the same time.

"James, you can hold it. Now, don't crowd." Dean gave the phone to James. James held it with a firm grip as Jordan and Jan moved so they could see the phone.

Dean stood and looked out the windows as Adam's voice filled the room. He prayed everything would work out. Dean knew the threat on Adam's life was real. The sooner he and the children were in the safe room, the better.

The door of room 151 opened. No one noticed Randy enter. The children were busy with the video and Dean stared out of the window.

Randy went to Dean. The physician gave a start when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Sorry, Dean. Didn't mean to startle you." Randy spoke in a soft voice with a smile.

Dean chuckled. "No problem, Randy. Lost in thought. Video from Adam." He nodded toward the bed. The video played for a third time.

Randy gave his own chuckle. "No wonder they didn't notice me. Thanks, I am sure it will help them to see Adam. I will visit him later, now that he can have company. Good to see Jade and James in here. That too will help. You holding up?"

Dean gave a nod. "Adam will be happy to see you. Yes, John Cena agreed with me. Those four need each other. I'm sure Jade and James will recover faster. I am holding up. Randy, what about you? Is there anything I can do for you?" Dean was struck by the amount of stress on Randy's face. For the moment, Randy was just a scared parent, not a major underworld crime boss.

Randy's entire body seemed to droop. "I'm...scared, Dean. My dear family was nearly… I will never be able to thank you enough for operating on Jade. Dean, take care of my family. I am honestly happy for you and Adam. He deserves to be loved. I loved him so much, but we… it's better this way, for everyone. Dean, if… something ever happens to me… love them like they were your own..." Randy's voice faded as the quads called out to him.

"Look dad! Daddy sent us a video!" James called out. His voice was strong this time as he spoke.

As Randy started to move, Dean held him back. "I will, Randy. I swear it." Dean gave Randy a hard glare that told Randy he meant what he said.

Randy returned the look. "Thank you." He then turned to his children. Dean left the room so Randy could be alone with the children.

Dean went to the nurse's station. Justin was there with an older nurse with short, black hair. The older nurse gave Justin a hard time.

"...I need that key. I am perfectly capable of filling medicine trays." The woman was rather irate.

Justin took a deep breath. "I am sure you are. I am the charge nurse. As such, I am the one in charge of the med room. It is hospital policy."

"You're just saying that. What? Do you think I am stupid? You just want to make me look bad so I won't get promoted over you." The older nurse spoke in a very annoyed tone of voice.

"Ma'am, I used to be the head physician of this department. Trust me, it is the policy of Saint Luke's that only the charge nurse has access to the medicine room." Dean spoke firmly. He didn't like the older nurse's attitude toward Justin.

"Thank you, Doctor Ambrose. Nurse Guerrero meet Doctor Dean Ambrose. Doctor Ambrose, this is Nurse Vickie Guerrero." Justin made the polite introduction.

Vickie looked shame faced. "Pleased to meet you, Doctor Ambrose. Now I understand the hospital policy. I am sorry, Justin. I will go make my rounds now. Nice to meet you, Doctor." She hurried off towards her hallway of patients.

"Thank you, Dean. She is an excellent nurse, but, she feels… demoted to work under me. Thanks for making it clear about the policy." Justin gave Dean a look of great relief.

Dean let out a bit of a laugh. "Happy to help. I've dealt with her kind before. Listen, I am going back to Adam's room. I left my phone with the kids. Make sure I get it back, please."

"I will. Nice of you to let Mister Orton be with his kids. I have to say, he is a great father. Don't worry, your phone will be safe. Sorry, gotta go." Justin hurried off to answer a patient call.

A few minutes later, Dean entered Adam's room. The blond's eyes were closed as he had a pained expression on his face. Dean knew Adam's hips hurt from the bone grafts. He wished he could help, but sometimes meds only did so much.

Dean quietly sat in the chair next to the bed. He took Adam's hand in his. It was so quiet, Dean closed his own eyes. As long as he was with Adam, Dean's soul was at peace.

Randal Orton couldn't stop the smile that took over his lips. Dean had fallen asleep, his head on Adam's abdomen. Adam also slept, his hand rested on top of Dean's head. It was the most peaceful he'd ever seen Adam. He was glad his ex-husband had someone like Dean in his life.

Adam's eyes fluttered as the sleep began to leave his body. He smiled when he saw Randy at the door. Adam wagged his finger to indicate for Randy to come in.

Adam couldn't stop the yelp of pain when he moved to sit up more. Dean snapped awake immediately. He began to massage Adam's hips.

"That's wonderful." Adam gave a sigh. The massage immediately began to help the pain in his hips.

Randy smiled at the couple. "Sorry to intrude. I brought Dean's phone. I'll come back later." Randy laid the phone on the bedside table and turned to leave.

"No, Randy. Stay. You are not intruding. My hips hurt from the bone grafts. How are the babies?" Adam took Randy's hand in his to stop him from going.

"They are much better. Seeing your video helped. Jade and James are happy to be with Jan and Jordan. Justin made them a huge bed. I am sorry about your hips. How are you otherwise? I have to say, you look beautiful." Randy spoke with affection. He did care deeply for Adam.

Adam smiled. "Thanks, Ran. Dean helped me wash up. I didn't want to scare the babies. Actually, aside from my hips, I feel good. Doctor said the fusions will almost stop my migraines. My neck does feel less compressed. I am glad the babies are together. I can see them tomorrow. Dean, don't stop."

Dean had stopped the massage to let Randy and Adam talk privately. He gave a laugh and returned to the massage on Adam's hips, when the blond gave him a gigantic pout. He didn't speak, Dean didn't want to interrupt.

"Adam, you should have said please to Dean. You are such a diva sometimes." Randy gave a laugh as he teased his ex-husband.

Adam chuckled. "You're right. Sorry, Dean. Please, don't stop. It really helps. I did warn Dean about my diva behavior. How are you, Ran? You look so stressed. You need to relax, we are going to be alright. You tell Mike I will kick his ass if he doesn't take care of you." Adam went from mirth to serious as he spoke.

Randy nodded. "It is stressful to see the most important people in your life in pain. I feel better now that I know you will all be okay with time. Mike does look after me. You know, he hasn't gone home since the accident. He looks in on the kids when I have to go to the office. Sometimes, being the boss fucking sucks. At least the man from Japan understood. He is having a great time with Dolph and Heath. Oh Dean, I hope you don't mind, but the kids made Adam another video." He pointed to the cell phone he'd sat down earlier.

Dean grinned. "I don't mind at all. Oh and don't worry, I already know he can be a huge diva. Luckily, that I don't mind...usually." He gave Randy a wink and then gave one to Adam.

Adam rolled his eyes. "Okay. Thanks, Dean. It is hurting a bit now. Can I watch my kids, please?" He gave Dean a very boyish look.

Dean stopped the massage. "Yes, you can." He reached over and handed Adam the cell phone.

Adam, Dean and Randy all watched the video. It made Adam's smile even brighter when he saw how happy his children were to be together in one room. Jade and James both sounded and even looked stronger than in the earlier video.

When the video ended, Dean gently thumbed away the tear that ran down Adam's cheek. "I promise. First thing tomorrow, I will take you to them. I won't even make you eat." He gave Adam a soft kiss and wiped a last tear.

Randy wore a soft smile. "I am going to head out. Take Mike out for a nice dinner. My turn to spoil him a bit. I'll see you tomorrow, Addy. You are in the best possible hands. Look...I'll say it one more time. I am pleased for both of you. You are going to have a fantastic marriage. My children couldn't have wished for a better step-father. Maybe it's time for...trying again myself. I do love Mike..." He let his words fade in thought.

"I want an invitation to the wedding. Do it, Randy. If you love Mike that much, marry him. You deserve to be as happy as I am. Ran, it means a lot that you approve of Dean and I. It is important that the children know it. I love you, Ran. See you tomorrow." Adam pulled Randy down to give him a kiss on the cheek.

Randy kissed Adam on the forehead. "Love you too, Addy. I am glad you approve of Mike. Our children are lucky to have good parents and good step-parents. See you tomorrow. Dean, my family is yours. See you and thank you." He held out his hand for Dean to shake.

Dean firmly shook Randy's hand. "Thank you. Don't worry. I will take care of them. See you and best wishes to you and Mike." Dean and Adam watched with smiles as Randy left.

"You know...in moments like that, it's hard to believe he has another side. Now you see why I never had a clue about who Randy really is. Dean...could...they be wrong about Randy? I just… has he really killed people?" Adam had doubt in his voice and on his face. Maybe Randy was just an innocent businessman.

Dean sat down in the chair. He took Adam's hand in his. "I do know what you mean. I can see why you never knew. Baby, there is too much proof. You know he has the other side. I know it must be very difficult for you. After all, you love him, were married to him, had his children. I honestly can't believe how well you are handling it. I am very, very proud of you." He kissed the back of Adam's hand.

Adam dipped his head, a bit of a flush on his face. "Thanks. I keep the Randy that was just here in my head...the only Randy I knew and know. Also, knowing Justin and notebook man are in danger if I don't, is motivation as well. Also, knowing the children and you could be harmed...I wish ma would have warned me about Randy...unless he was good enough too fool an angel too. Dean, would you do something for me?" He looked at his future husband with child-like eyes.

"Sonic or McDonald's?" Dean asked with a chuckle.

Adam laughed. "You already know me too well. Sonic, please. I don't eat much fast food but I love their chili cheese dogs. Thanks, my love. If I am going to eat, I might as well enjoy it."

Dean stood. "I will be back soon. Sonic is just down the block. Love you." He gave Adam a kiss.

"Love you." Adam waved as Dean left.

In the private waiting room, Finn Bálor once again paced the floor. He was alone. Drake had to meet with some parents in his office. The Irishman tried to figure out how to tell Wade how he felt. Love was a million times harder than a murder plot.

Finn stopped pacing when Justin Gabriel came into the room. "Hey, Finn. The doctors said you can visit Wade in half an hour. You can have fifteen minutes. They felt your visit helped Wade's morale. You'll still have to wear an isolation suit." Justin then turned serious and stepped up to Finn. He leaned in to speak in a low whisper.

"Don't be here tomorrow night. That way, you can't be suspected by Orton. I will make sure the job is done and no one will be the wiser." Justin spoke firmly. He had to have Finn out of the way in order to get Adam out safely.

Finn nodded. "If that's what the boss lady wants. Thanks for getting me in to see Wade. He knows about losing the baby." He gave a sad sigh.

"Drake told me. I am sorry, Finn. You would have made a good step-dad. Look, just tell him how you feel. It is written all over your face. And yes, that is what Madame wants." Justin gave Finn a brotherly pat on the back.

Finn nodded. "Yeah, I will. Drake said the worst that could happen is Wade s says no. If he does, we can still be friends...I hope. Our business isn't...friends don't come along often." He sounded more like a teenager in love than a killer.

Justin smiled. "Friendship is a good foundation. I'll meet you at Wade's room. The boss arranged it. See you in a bit." He quickly left the room. He didn't want Finn to have a chance to ask questions about the plan.

Finn went back to pacing. One thing kept him sane. Adam would be dead, and Orton would be theirs. Finn wondered if the could torture Orton before they killed him. Finn was an expert in torture...and extracting information.

Adam beamed as he bit into his foot long, fully loaded chili cheese dog. "Fank fou, Fean." He spoke with a mouthful of food.

Dean had to be careful not to choke on his double cheeseburger. He swallowed, then spoke. "You're welcome, baby. Good choice, I saw the food trays on the way back. Mushy meatloaf and hard potatoes. I just don't get why they can't deliver good meals. The cafeteria here is very good." He took another bite.

"Not the kitchen's fault. It's the hot boxes. They dry out the food too much. It always tastes better than it looks. I just wanted this." Adam gave Dean a sly wink, and took another bite of his own food.

Dean rolled his eyes. "You are a very naughty boy. You tricked me. I hope the menu for breakfast is liver and onions. I wish I could have gotten food for the little lions. At least they get good food in a private pay room."

"True..." Adam stopped eating. He pushed away his half eaten meal.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Dean saw the sudden change in Adam. It worried him.

Adam looked at Dean. "The plan. I'm not worried about myself, but for the children. How in the hell is Justin going to pull it off? If he gets caught, the children could be hurt."

Dean put down his food. He took Adam's hands in his. "Don't forget, Hunter, Bret and Jason are part of it. Do you think Hunter will let anything happen? I have faith in all of them. Trust me, you weren't in the room when it was discussed like I was. If I wasn't absolutely convinced it was the right thing to do, I wouldn't have allowed it. Seth put Hunter and Bret through the wringer. It will be alright. I promise. I am not saying I'm not worried, because I am. But, I can be worried and still have faith. Also, Jason has a contact with the FBI that is helping. It's going to be alright." He sealed his words with a kiss to Adam's hands.

Adam gave a slight laugh. "If Seth and you grilled Hunter, Bret and Jason, I know it will be alright. You're right, Hunter won't let anything happen or Shawn will kill him. Dean...do you fully trust Justin? He could just… it's not normal criminals, it is the mafia." He was worried all over again.

"Yes, I do. I don't know why, but I do. I have a feeling there is a reason he is doing this. Maybe one day, we will know that reason. Now, finish your food. You promised to eat." Dean spoke with true confidence. He picked up his burger and took a huge bite.

Adam chuckled. "Chipmunk. Okay, babe. I will be brave. I will eat." He picked up his own food and ate. The engaged couple chatted as they ate; about everything but the plan.

Around Kansas City, the plan was being discussed. After all, the details are in the plan.
