Summary: Nashi ends up in hospital and Ur pays her a visit.

Pairings: Nashi/Ur, Nashi/Ur/Gilly/Edward friendship, motherly Mira/Nashi, and implied parental Natsu/Nashi/Lucy.

Author's Note: For Fred and George Weasley Twins, who wanted Nashi/Ur fluff.

Ur never realised what a danger Nashi was to herself until it was almost too late.

It started with a mission, as it always does for them, with their parents gone on their own jobs (and it was beginning to look like none of them were coming back any time soon), and nothing fun to do at the guild, they agreed to go on a job together, just the four of them, Ur, Nashi, Edward, and Gilly, (no Stella for the first time in ages as Happy and Charle took her to visit the Exceeds) and so far it had been fairly easy.

And then the usual things happened, like they got recognised as their parents' children, and were instantly attacked.

It was a tragedy they had long gotten used to. Being a child of someone who helped vanquished Zeref always meant that you were targeted by psychos who wanted revenge.

This time was no different.

What was different though, was this wasn't some run of the mill cult guy. Instead they had been put up against a small gang of demons that had managed to escape their parents' wrath and kept hidden all these years.

As strong as Ur, Nashi, Edward, and Gilly were, and as weak as these demons were compared to the ones their parents must have fought, it was a struggle to win. Edward was currently down for the count, Ur was faltering, and Gilly was suddenly launched into the air….and that was when something snapped inside of Nashi.

Now, there was no denying that Nashi was a strong mage. She literally breathed and ate fire on a daily basis and was an excellent archer…..but Nashi had always been more than that, and everyone, including Ur, kept forgetting that.

Nashi was the daughter of Natsu and Lucy Dragneel.

She wasn't just trained in Dragon Slaying magic, she was trained in celestial magic, and by the zodiacs of all people.

She had more magic in her pinkie finger than the whole guild put together.

And so when she snapped, she snapped.

Instantly a wool bomb was released and caught Gilly in time, then a sand storm appeared, making it difficult for everyone to see, which Nashi used to her own advantage to dig a hole, tunnel under, and make a surprise attack on the demons with a fucking giant, flaming, axe, which she was using strength magic to wield. She knocked two of the demons out, and was down to the last one where she alternated between fire magic, arrows, and her various celestial powers.

Eventually, using the light magic she learnt from Uncle Loke, she defeated the last demon with a celestial arrow.

And then promptly collapsed.

"NASHI!"

"SHI-CHAN!"

Immediately, Ur, Edward, and Gilly ran towards their unconscious friend. Ur reached her first and turned her over only to be horrified at the sight, blood was smeared across her lower face, covering her lips, her cheeks, and droplets were still rolling down her chin and onto her neck.

Gilly's petite, pale, hand brushed Nashi's forehead, and a grim look shadowed the pretty's girl's face. "She's burning up!" she hissed. "We have to get her to a hospital, quickly!"

Everything then became a blur, Ur couldn't remember how they did it, but the three of them managed to get Nashi into a hospital quickly enough, and then, as if he had some sort of homing device on them (and Ur really wouldn't be surprised), Uncle Laxus appeared with Aunt Mira and Wendy-nee not far behind.

"Stupid brat," Uncle Laxus growled as he glowered into the hospital room Nashi was in, "she's been told over and over again to lay off on the celestial magic, and what does she do? Uses every damn bit and lands herself into hospital."

"Now, now, Laxus," Aunt Mira chided him gently, "I'm sure there's a good reason."

Ur was confused, as was Edward by the looks of it, but Gilly seemed to understand what was going on and when asked, gave a quick rundown. "I once heard Aunt Lucy and Mum talking," she whispered quickly, "all magic comes with a price. Sometimes silly things, like your Dad unable to keep his clothes on, sometimes bearable things, like being a bit too tired, but a lot of times, it's really big things. Like Dragon Slayers become Dragons, or Time Magic prematurely ages you."

"And celestial magic?" Edward asked worriedly.

"Drains you," Gilly said grimly, "burns you out. All of Aunt Lucy's ancestors, her mother, and her grandmother, and her mother, they all died young. And that's celestial magic with the keys. Nashi uses it without the medium and she used so much today, hence the nosebleed and the fever….."

Ur shuddered.

He remembered there were times, after Nashi used celestial magic that Aunt Lucy wouldn't let Nashi out to play but he had always thought it was because she was grounded, not because she was ill.

He felt rather guilty about his taunting now.

Hours ticked past, in a ridiculously slow manner, and eventually they were allowed to go in and see Nashi ("But only one person at a time," Wendy-nee warned gently, "I don't want anyone over-exciting her." "Why are you all looking at me?!" Ur cried out. "Probably because you have a remarkable ability to wind her up just by looking at her," Edward dead-panned.), and typically, Ur was the last one to see her, and she had fallen asleep just before he visited her.

Typical. She did these things on purpose. Just to annoy him. He knows she does.

The sight of Nashi asleep in the hospital bed made Ur squirm.

He was used to seeing Nashi alive, vibrant, constantly on the move, even when she was reading she would tap a foot impatiently, or drum her fingers against the table, too eager to get to the good parts to be able to sit through the filler. Nashi in the bed was dead. Not literally but she might as well be, she wasn't moving at all, her face was still far too pale despite the pink flush on her cheeks, and her chest was barely moving to signify that she was breathing.

Suddenly he found his shirt feeling very irritable against his skin, and was way too hot and bothered all of a sudden, it was something he noticed more and more these days, and now wondered if that's what Gilly meant about the price of magic, after all he used the same magic as his Dad, and his Dad could never keep his clothes on.

Ur glanced around the unbearably bleak and sad room. It matched the lifelessness of Nashi right now, and seriously needed cheering up.

There was little he could do for her, especially now, but he could give her something to wake up to.

"Ice Make," he murmured, "Roses."

It was the most difficult of spells that his father had taught him. Even his Dad couldn't get it right all the time, but for this moment, this one, precious, moment, it had worked, and Ur created a small, beautifully detailed, bouquet of roses.

He moved to put them in the empty, plastic, vase by Nashi's bedside.

"Wazthat?" Nashi mumbled.

He jumped and almost had a heart attack when he realised she was watching him with sleepy eyes. Her dark brown eyes seemed darker than usual and he suddenly felt incredibly naked under her stare.

"What do you think they are, you bimbo?" he retorted. "They're flowers."

Nashi sat up slightly and winced. "They're made of ice," she frowned.

"Well done," Ur said sarcastically, "now what colour is the sky?"

"You fucking moron!" Nashi snapped. "And a cheapskate to boot! Ice melts, puddle brain, you're giving me a vase of water!"

"You ungrateful brat! I made you flowers and all you can do is insult me?!"

"Sure especially when you're being a miser. Come back when you actually buy me flowers!"

"Fine! I will!" Ur shouted. "I'll go and won't come back until I find you such an expensive bouquet of real flowers that will wilt and die and be just as useless as the 'vase of water' you just called my hard work!"

"Good!" Nashi crossed her arms.

"Good!"

"See you then."

"Fine!"

"Fine!"

Angrily, Ur hauled the door open to find Aunt Mira standing on the other side with Nashi's bag, one of those cheesy Get Well teddy bears, and balloons, and some bags of other things, and a very big, bemused, yet slightly evil, smile on her face.

"Ara! Ara!" Aunt Mira cried out gleefully. "Ur-kun is buying you flowers, Nashi-Chan? How romantic!"

"NO IT'S NOT!"

Aunt Mira didn't seem at all bothered at both Nashi and Ur shouting at her. Instead she glided into the hospital room and began to arrange things while admiring the roses Ur had made (declaring them romantic which of course caused Ur and Nashi to scream and shout again, not that Aunt Mira ever paid them any attention). "Best not let Natsu see this," Aunt Mira tapped the vase, "he'll get ever so over-protective."

"You told them?!" Nashi cried out horrified. "Why?!"

"Nashi," Aunt Mira said softly, "they're you're parents. They would want to take care of you when you're sick."

"Yeah," Nashi grumbled as Aunt Mira began to tuck her back into bed as if she was five and not fifteen. "But Mum's gonna lecture me about my magic again and then lock me in my room for all eternity until she's sure I'm better, and Dad will hover round like some guard dragon for a princess. They'll be suffocating."

"Don't worry," Aunt Mira stroked Nashi's hair, "I'm sure your prince will rescue you, won't you, Ur?"

Ur's cheeks suddenly burned as he deeply wished he had the magic power of digging a hole so he could curl up and die.
