Summary: What I wanted to see in the latest episode….Natsu warms Lucy up.

Pairings: Natsu/Lucy and some Happy/Mira friendship.

Lucy was freezing.

More than freezing, she felt like she will never be warm again, and no matter how hot Natsu made the fire, she could still feel the cold.

Shakenly, she held out her hands against the fire when Natsu's burning hot hand clasped round her wrist. "Lucy, you idiot," he scolded her. "Why aren't you wearing any gloves?"

"You're not wearing any gloves!" Lucy retorted.

She had such a bad day so far, what with being stuck in a blizzard, Happy's dramatics, the cave trying to kill them, and now they were lost without food or drink. Thank God they had Natsu or it would be so much worse now.

"Well yeah," Natsu looked at her as if she was stupid, "I'm a fire mage. I don't need gloves 'cause I can keep myself warm. You don't have that, weirdo, your hands must be freezing."

"I lost all feeling in them hours ago," Lucy admitted sheepishly.

"Idiot."

Lucy was annoyed by that. It wasn't like their first time in the mountains when she stupidly went up in just a mini-skirt and flimsy top thinking, quite rightly, that it was July and she shouldn't need them because it was hot. This time she had been sensible as she was wearing tights, four layers of clothing including a very thick and expensive coat (that did not match Natsu's hair, stop saying that Mira!), she shouldn't be called an idiot for forgetting about gloves.

Lucy had been about to say all this to Natsu when he had suddenly moved his hand from her wrist, dragging his fingers in a caressing manner along her skin, to her palms and clasped both her hands tightly before bringing them to his mouth. Lucy gasped when she felt hot air brush against her fingers.

"Oh!" she gasped.

Natsu shot her a very odd look, his eyes heavy-lidded, dark, and sexy. It made Lucy warm up from the inside and melt just a little bit. "Better?" he murmured in a husky voice that made her shiver for an entirely different reason. She nodded. "Liar!" Natsu accused her. "Come closer."

"Hmmm."

She leaned into his warmth that he radiated naturally, and Natsu happily wrapped an arm round her, while his other hand cupped her face. "Crap, Luce," he mumbled, "You're face is frozen stiff and your lips have turned blue."

"Can't be helped," Lucy said numbly, her cheeks burnt under Natsu's attention, "I'm not a fire mage like you."

"Well you got one to keep you warm, idiot!" Natsu retorted. "Here, let me…" he leaned in and Lucy's heart did a flip, her stomach fluttered, and everything burned as Natsu blew hot air against her lips gently.

"THAT'S NOT FAIR!" Happy yelled suddenly causing the two the break apart. Lucy clutched her chest as she thought she had died to heart failure right there and then. "I was cold and you set me on fire!" Happy accused Natsu, rightfully, as tears ran down his cheeks. "While Lucy is cold you just cuddle her! Favouritism!"

Natsu chose to ignore Happy entirely as Lucy began to tremble again due to their icy surroundings and instantly pulled her back into his embrace. "Shut up, Happy" he said lazily.

Happy spent the rest of the trip wailing and sobbing about how mean Natsu and Lucy were.

("There, there," Mira said comfortingly as she placed a plate of fish in front of Happy, "now tell more about Lucy stripping in front of Natsu.")
