Summary: Since Lucy had made another comment about Natsu abandoning her, I sense a reoccurring theme in future chapters, and judging by Natsu's facial expression I wouldn't be surprised if he snapped and a confrontation scene happened. This is one way it could happen….in my head at least….

Pairings: Natsu/Lucy

YouTube Prompt: A Erza/Jellal video or Gray/Juvia or Natsu/Lucy or Gajeel/Levy (or even Laxus/Fairy Tail in general) to 'The Reason' by Hoobastank

"What?!" Natsu cried out. "What do you mean you're sceptical?! That you think it's better to stay here?!"

Natsu was beginning to get really fed up with this. First Wendy didn't want to come back, then Juvia, less said about that bastard Gray the better, and let's not go on about the insanity that was persuading Gajeel and Levy, and Erza, to all return, and now all three Strauss siblings weren't eager to come home either!

What the fuck is wrong with the world these days?!

Jeeze, you go away for one year, and everyone no longer wants to go home with you. Speaking of which, just on time….

"Well," Lucy said snarkily, "you can hardly blame them. After all you left us all first."

Mira, Elfman, and Lisanna's eyes all popped out at that, they were obviously shocked that Lucy, sweet, kind, ever-forgiving, Lucy had said that, but Natsu wasn't so surprised anymore. Each and every single time Natsu gets upset about the lack of trust from his guild members in the idea of Fairy Tail, or in him, or their friendship, and suddenly Lucy's mouth opened and a bitter comment left her lips.

It was fucking pissing him off!

Lucy was supposed to be Lucy. Sweet, warm, nice…..not this….this… blonde version of Aquarius! Yes that's it! She was being like her sea hag, rude, and mean, and a little hurtful.

He wanted Lucy back, his Lucy, and he would get her back even if it means he had to shake her back.

"THAT'S IT!" Natsu roared furiously as fire shot out of his mouth. ("Natsu! Watch my curtains!" Mira shrieked, though was immediately ignored, and it was up to Juvia to put the fire out). "What the hell is your problem, Lucy?!"

"Excuse me?!" Lucy retorted.

"You heard me!" Natsu bellowed. "What the hell is your problem?" he repeated with a glower. "Ever since I came back you keep making these nasty comments, like you're….like you're….bitter or something."

"Oh!" Lucy rolled her eyes. "I wonder why?" she asked sarcastically.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"

"You know exactly what it means!" Lucy spat out. "You know exactly why I'm a bitter, you left me. What was is supposed to do, jump for joy?"

"Yes! No! I don't know!" Natsu pulled at his hair and gritted his teeth. "Why are you making it so difficult? I'm back. I was always going to come back. I didn't really leave you."

"I didn't know that," Lucy whispered, "How was I supposed to know that? All I got was a letter saying goodbye. A letter," she repeated as if that was the most disgusting curse word in the history of languages. "You're just like him. He wrote me a letter and now I can never see him again."

Natsu blinked. "What?!" he cried out, completely bewildered. It was official, Lucy had lost it and wasn't making any sense anymore. She was completely, utterly, a weirdo.

Lucy glared at him so fiercely that he took a step back, he then tried to step forward when he realised she was also crying. She punched him in the chest. Not very well but she then punched him again, and again, and again, as she began to sob. "I thought you were different!" she wailed as she punched his chest. "I thought you were never going to leave me. I thought I could trust you. I believed in you. But instead you're just like everyone else. They all left me! Mama, Father, Aquarius, everyone in this guild! What happened to us being a family? What happened to us sticking together no matter what? No one seemed to care at all as they all fucking walked away and I was the only one left standing. But you! You!" she gasped and she seemed to be choking for air. "You walked away first! Did it ever occur to you to just talk to me?!"

"Lucy," Natsu couldn't think, not with Lucy's fists pounding away on his chest, and words pouring out of her mouth like a never-ending stream of hurt, "Lucy," he repeated as he tried to grab her hands, Lucy managed to avoid his and smacked his shoulder instead, "LUCY!"

Having lost all patience, he pushed her to the table, grabbed her hands and pinned them to her side, and pressed his legs against hers to keep her from kicking him.

She blinked up at him, momentarily losing her anger to shock, but her fury simmered back and the tears were still running loose on her cheeks.

"I would have come with you," she croaked eventually, "if you had asked."

"I know," Natsu replied quietly, "that's why I didn't. You would have distracted me."

She had distracted him while not even being there, she had that much of a hold on him, and he was beginning to think it was the most unfair, evil, and yet wonderful things in the world.

"I hate you. I hate you all."

"No you don't."

"No, I don't," Lucy admitted almost immediately, "which is why I hate you even more."

"Weirdo."

Lucy snorted and let out a strange hiccup-y laugh. She seemed almost to her old self and Natsu was ready to let her go, and then accept her apologies before saying sorry himself, and then they could hopefully move past this though he was still buzzing with questions (what did she mean by Aquarius left her too? Did he really remind her of her father? Would she ever be able to get over this? Does she know that they all loved her and they never meant to hurt her, it was just that they all needed to do their own thing to sort themselves out? Surely, she knew that she was never really on her own?).

Natsu opened his mouth again to say this, any of it, but at the same time Lucy also opened her mouth, and then-

"If you two are going to christen my kitchen table," Mira called out softly from the kitchen door, "then I would prefer you take my favourite table cloth off first."

Natsu's eyes bugged out as his cheeks burned. He suddenly realised that Lucy was flat out against the table, her golden hair sprayed against the red check cloth of Mira's table cloth, and her hands were pinned down either side of her face….she looked ready to be ravished….

Lucy's cheeks immediately turned red as she jumped up, accidentally head-butted Natsu, and squealed shrilly as she ran off.

"Tee-hee!" Happy snickered. "They liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike each other."
