Dear Diary,
Everyone always loves racing here. I have no idea why. I mean sure, a mall is a good place to race, but it doesn't warrant racing in it five times in a row. It's like none of the other race courses exist, everyone keeps on picking this one over and over again! It's getting to the point where I don't even want to be picked by someone on wifi races... it's getting that ridiculous.
- A generally concerned, red robed Shy Guy
Yet again, as usual, the Coconut Mall was picked for an online race, this time being for Mario Kart Wii as ten racers gathered at the starting line, four of them baby Daisy on the Bullet Bike, three of them Funky Kong on the Flame Runner, two of them Daisy on the Mach Bike, and one lone heavyweight female Mii in the Honeycoupe as they all zipped, with the group of similar racers trying to pass each other as green and red Koopa shells, yellow banana peels, and Bloopers were unleashed onto the racing action, with the occasional Thunder Cloud and POW Block popping up on the scene.
"It's like even after overuse, people still love to race here," Birdo commented as she watched the racing action on the television set inside the newly built McDonald's alongside Toadette, munching on a chicken nugget she held in her right hand as she had the ten piece combo. "I guess the old saying is true."
"What's the old saying?" Toadette burped after munching on several hot french fries, having finished her Quarter Pounder hamburger as she then sipped some Diet Pepsi.
"Old habits die hard." Birdo stated as she munched down on several of her own french fries as the entire area briefly shook from the use of the POW Block, with everyone holding onto something as Birdo rolled her left hand around. "Even though people have other favorite courses, they just love to stick with this one."
"These people need help." Toadette stated innocently with a smile as she munched on more of her fries, belching loudly as she giggled, with Birdo rolling her eyes as she watched Toadette eat.
Coconut Mall was bustling with activity as shoppers where shopping, racers were racing, and beach goers were enjoying the sandy beach.
However, the race course had a bit of a predicament, as while there were several Miis and Shy Guys racing... there was another participant running on the track that wasn't a racer. It was Toadette, and she was being chased by a couple of angry black orb shaped Bullies.
"Ahhh!" Toadette screamed as she ran around in the outside garden, panicking as her eyes widened, taking glances behind her to see the three Bullies continuing to follow her. "Leave me alone! Please! I didn't do anything to you!"
"URGH!" The Bullies shouted as they pushed the Miis racers to the side, causing them to spin out of control as they chased Toadette into a flower shop, causing all the plants and flower pots to fall down.
The customers and employees gasped as Toadette jumped over the counter, hiding behind it as the Bullies came around the counter, attempting to tackle Toadette when they collided into each other. Toadette dashed away as fast as possible as she left the flower shop, going up the staircase leading to the rooftop.
"I just can't catch a break today!" Toadette exclaimed as she could hear the Bullies coming for her, deciding to run up the staircase as three Shy Guy racers zipped past her, trying not to run her over.
As expected, things were calm during the night, as there were no races occurring at the tropical mall. However, the Honey Queen Bee was buzzing on the sandy shore, humming merrily as she was enjoying the cool breeze.
"Ho hum!" Honey Queen buzzed as she giggled, swinging her arms from side to side. "Nothing beats buzzing on the beach at night!"
It was then that she was squashed by several pancakes, poking her head out of the pancakes as she looked around, wondering where the pancakes came from.
"Ooh! These seem so yummy!" Queen Bee exclaimed as she blinked, looking up at the dark, starry sky. "But where did these pancakes come from? And how come they have no syrup on them?"
It was then that maple syrup mysteriously poured down on Honey Queen, drowning her in the sweet substance as it suddenly began raining pancakes and maple syrup. Birdo and Dry Bowser watched from the inside of the Coconut Mall, turning to each other as they blinked.
"The author's running out of materiel, isn't he?" Birdo asked as she folded her arms together.
Dry Bowser nodded his head in agreement, his skeletal hands on his hips. "Yeah. When he decides to involve pancakes, that's when you know his mind is becoming mush."
And then both of the reptiles turned into pancakes, both of them sighing as they didn't bother to change anything.
