"I always knew Laxus was a good guy!"

It was bright and early in the morning after what had been the most exhausting, testing, and difficult battle of everyone's lives so far (Lucy really wouldn't be surprised if there were more battles like this). Everyone was either still asleep or blearily getting ready for the day, Natsu was apparently too wired up to sleep properly and that meant Lucy couldn't sleep either.

Instead they chose to sit away from the others and talk (it was that or Lucy would kick Natsu for being a pain in the arse) about yesterday's events. This included the surprise entrance of Laxus and his even more surprising gesture of trust in Natsu by lending his magic to him.

"Oh?" Lucy raised an eyebrow, considering Natsu spent two weeks straight ranting about what a prick Laxus is, she was very sceptical that he always believed Laxus to be good. "What makes you say that?"

"Because he's blonde!"

"…..might want to explain your logic there, Natsu."

"Well Laxus' father is a really evil, evil, arsehole," Natsu explained, "Master vaguely told us that he did some really bad things and was banished from the guild and ever since he's been trying to destroy Fairy Tail."

"Not trying hard enough," Lucy muttered, "as this is the first time I heard about it." She shook her head as Natsu grinned proudly at his nonsensical explanation. "That still doesn't explain why Laxus is good because of his blonde hair," she pointed out.

"Well Laxus' Dad's hair was black."

"And?!"

"Master and Laxus are both blonde!" Natsu said triumphantly.

"How the hell do you know Master is blonde?!" Lucy yelped. "His hair is grey!"

"We all seen the pictures!" Natsu argued. "He was blonde, and so was his Dad, who apparently helped build this guild. Another good guy! So obviously blonde people are good and dark haired people are evil, and since Laxus is blonde he is therefore a good guy!"

"That's…..really faulty logic, Natsu," Lucy sweat-dropped, "you can't base people's goodness on their hair colour especially with only just one example."

"Your hair is blonde!" Natsu said stubbornly. "And you're the most good, and nice, and kind person I have ever known." Lucy flushed under Natsu's suddenly intensive stare and tried not to look at the ground out of shyness. They were just friends, he was just being nice, there is nothing weird going on, she desperately thought to herself…..strangely enough it wasn't working. "And they!" Natsu suddenly pointed wildly to the side. "Have dark hair and are great, big, evil pricks!"

Lucy glanced to the side and caught sight of Gajeel sleeping in a tree with Lily curled up in his leg looking uncharacteristically sweet and Gray sprawled out on the floor with his head nestled against Juvia's breasts, looking just as sweet and innocent as a new-born baby.

A insect could look more evil than these two right now.

"Yeah Natsu," she drawled out sarcastically, "they're the pinnacle of all that is evil in the world."

"Yay!" Natsu cheered. "See!" he smirked proudly. "I can be intelligent and logical too!"

Lucy opened her mouth to argue only to immediately close it and sighed instead (there would just be no point at all in arguing this). "Of course you are," she said as she patted him on the head, "You're the most logical guy I know."

Natsu beamed and Lucy tried to convince herself that her heart did not skip a beat, she was just suffering some bad heartburn from Natsu's cooking last night.

(Meanwhile Laxus wondered if it was too late to run away and avoid such ridiculous, soppy, stupidity…..unfortunately his so called friends had decided to make it very difficult for him to run away by sleeping on parts of his body.)
