Summary: Modern AU! In which Natsu is a big playboy and Lucy is his latest love interest…..right? Right?

Pairings: Natsu/Lucy, Gray/Lucy friendship (and romance in Juvia's mind), Natsu/Levy, Natsu/Erza, Natsu/Evergreen, Natsu/Laki, Natsu/Cana, Natsu/Mirajane, Natsu/Lisanna, Natsu/others (don't worry all these pairings are in Lucy's head), implied Natsu/Erza/Gray friendship, squint very hard to see Gajeel/Levy, mentions of Lucy/Cana if you squint the same with Juvia/Cana and Gray/Cana, and plenty of Gray/Juvia as well.

"Psst! Lucy!" Natsu hissed. Gray raised an amused eyebrow as his friend's eye twitched and she resolutely kept her eyes on the textbook before her. "Lucy!" Natsu persisted. "Lucy! Psst! Psst!" Lucy's eye twitched again and her grip on the book tightened so much that her knuckles were turning white. "LUCY!""

"What?!" Lucy snapped.

Natsu grinned stupidly and held up a sign. Gray didn't know whether to laugh or cringe on Lucy's behalf, it was a childish, glittery, mess with the big, blocky, words that could not be missed;

WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?

"For the last time Natsu," Lucy growled, "no! Now leave me alone, I'm trying to study. Some of us do that you know, so we can stay in University."

"But-"

"Go!"

Natsu pouted and waved his sign again which Lucy ignored. After trying to shove it under Lucy's nose only to have his hand slapped away, Natsu slipped away sulking.

"Why do you keep saying no to him?" Gray asked curiously. "I know you like him."

"I do not!"

"You so do," Gray argued, "you wouldn't blush so often if you didn't, and you wouldn't play with your hair whenever he talks to you, and you wouldn't keep giggling whenever he acts like a moron, or let him invade your home-"

"I don't let him invade my home!"

"Yeah you do," Gray said dismissively, "whenever I or anyone else try, you chuck us out immediately, whenever it is Natsu you give up within five minutes."

"I….well…..you…" Lucy stammered as her cheeks flushed pink. Gray couldn't help but chuckle at her, she was so obvious. "Shut up!" Lucy snapped.

"You haven't answered my question though," Gray whined, "why do you keep saying no to Natsu when you're possibly the only woman that actually likes him like that? God knows why, he's…..well Natsu," Gray grimaced.

"Because I'm not the only one that likes him like that," Lucy scowled, "and I'm obviously not the only one he likes like that either. He's a Playboy."

For a moment Gray sat there in silence as he tried to comprehend what Lucy just said….she was kidding, right? "Pfft," Gray snorted, "Natsu? A Playboy? Ha!"

"What?!" Lucy barked. "He is! I've seen him with a different girl every week. He was at Levy's apartment just the other day and he looked as if he had been….you know," she mumbled, her cheeks pink with embarrassment again, "and I've seen him out eating with Lisanna all the time, and he was in an embrace with Erza a few times, and Mirajane, and Cana has been all over him, and he was holding Laki's bags like he would for a girlfriend, and I caught him massaging Evergreen's feet in the Union, and I've seen him with various other girls as well." She shot Gray, who was still laughing because God Lucy was so stupid, a deadly look. "I bet he's gone out on dates with Juvia too."

Gray stopped laughing at that.

And not because he liked Juvia or anything but because Juvia now stood behind Lucy with murder in her eyes.

"Love Rival!"

"EEK!"

"Juvia knows what you are doing, Love Rival!" Juvia growled. "Love Rival is trying to make Gray-sama fall for her by making him laugh so much about Natsu-san. Love Rival is also trying to make Gray-sama think that Juvia is unfaithful to him. Well Juvia won't let that happen! Juvia will murder Love Rival before that happens!"

"Juvia," Gray sighed, "Lucy wasn't saying that at all." Juvia's eyes flickered at Gray when he said her name but the moment he tried to defend Lucy her eyes went straight back to shooting daggers at the blonde. "I know you would never be unfaithful to me," Gray said through gritted teeth.

The effect was instantaneous, Juvia beamed beautifully as she threw herself at Gray, choking him with her affection…..still at least she wasn't trying to kill Lucy anymore and get them all thrown out of the library.

"Look, Lucy," Gray shifted Juvia onto his lap so he could talk to the blonde, "Natsu is so not a Playboy. If you have seen him embracing Erza it's because she's hugging him for being a good friend. She does that. Strangle us out of love." He shuddered at the horrible memories of almost being murdered or knocked unconscious during Erza's more loving moments. "If he's been massaging Evergreen's feet or helping Laki shop it's because they made him do it. Like they make all of us do whenever they're being particularly bossy. Cana is all over everyone. She's a drunkard that likes to sexually harass people."

"Juvia would be jealous about another Love Rival," Juvia agreed, "if it wasn't for the fact Cana-san has done the same to Juvia when it is Juvia's turn to take her home. And Love Rival has also been molested by Cana-san so she knows this to be true."

"Juvia!" Lucy squeaked, now bright red.

Gray took a deep breath and tried, with all his power, to not think about Lucy and Cana, and die of a nosebleed in the middle of the library of all places.

"See!" he said instead. "You're jumping to conclusions. I mean, if Natsu came out of Levy's apartment looking like he'd been shagging her then I can safely say he was in her apartment wrestling with Gajeel. The only reason he'd ever be in Levy's apartment is to see him. Natsu and Levy aren't really close at all. You should know that. Mirajane is definitely not interested in Natsu, in fact no girl you named has ever been interested…..well apart from Lisanna but thankfully she grew up and realised what a mistake that was. I hope you do one day as well."

"Love Rival," Juvia growled.

"Not because of that!" Gray yelped. "Stop jumping to conclusions! You and Lucy are as bad as each other."

"Oi!"

"Natsu is not a Playboy," Gray pressed on, ignoring the angry looks Lucy and Juvia were giving him, "if you want an example of a real Playboy look at Loke. He actually does flirt and date anything in a skirt. Natsu won't know what to do when he finally gets a girlfriend. In fact before you came into our lives we all thought Natsu was either gay or asexual because he expressed absolutely no interest in girls like that. Pfft!" he snorted again. "Natsu, a Playboy, ha! I'm more of a Playboy than him and I haven't been on a date since I met Juvia."

"Oh Gray-sama!"

Gray did not point out that that was because Juvia scared of any potential love interest with her stalking, glaring, and muttered death threats…..he really didn't have to, it was obvious.

"Oh God!" Lucy cried out. "I've been an utter idiot, haven't I?"

"Yes," Gray and Juvia said in unison.

"I've got to find Natsu!"

She didn't have to go far, like Juvia, Natsu had apparently decided to skulk around the library and keep a watchful eye on Gray and Lucy (urgh, stupid, possessive, fire breath, why was Gray friends with this idiot?), and as soon as Lucy started to run for the door calling Natsu's name, he had appeared out of thin air.

"What's up, Luce?"

"Natsu!" Lucy said in a disgustingly breathless voice. "Ask me out again."

"Will you say yes?"

"I won't if you won't ask me out."

"Well I won't ask you out until I know you will say yes."

Gray face palmed, Juvia moaned, and Lucy stamped her foot in frustration. "Natsu!" she growled. "Just ask me out, Damnit!"

Natsu grinned stupidly again. "You only had to ask, Lucy," he teased, his grin then faded into a more solemn expression as he tucked a strand of Lucy's hair behind her ear, "will you go out with me Lucy?"

"Yes."

"Awesome!" Natsu grabbed Lucy's hand. "Let's go and play laser tag first!"

Gray rolled his eyes as Lucy was dragged away for a stupid game of a date (which was actually kinda awesome but don't tell Ash Brain he said that). God, he snorted to himself, he still couldn't believe that Lucy thought that moron had the charm, knowledge, and sophistication to be a Playboy.

"Ara!" Juvia gasped delightedly. "Now Gray-sama has finished studying with Love Rival, he can take Juvia on a date too!"

Damnit! Gray hadn't thought of that. He should have waited until after he finished studying before he told Lucy that Natsu wasn't a Playboy. Now he had no choice but to go on a date with Juvia as he had no other excuse!

Was it too late to tell Lucy that he was wrong and Natsu was in fact a regular Casanova….?
