"URGH!" Mirajane screamed as she tore at her long, white, hair, "WHY WON'T YOU JUST GET TOGETHER AND FUCK ALREADY!"
Several people flushed but they couldn't help but murmur in agreement. After a very complicated, convoluted, plan that involved a dark guild, a hoard of hungry tigers, and Lucy in grave danger, Mira's latest matchmaking scheme failed epically…..again.
Natsu and Lucy blinked, they then exchanged confused glances, before they turned their bewildered expressions to Mira's direction. "But we're already are together," Natsu said slowly. "We've been dating for years."
There was a moment of silence, somewhere in the distance you can hear a tiger roar and an innocent bystander scream, and then -
"WHAT?!"
Natsu and Lucy both jumped as the entire guild screamed this at them.
"When?" Mira demanded to know. "How? Who kissed who? Was it nice? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!"
"Erm…." Lucy sweat-dropped as she clung to Natsu's arm fearfully, "Mira-san…."
"Natsu…." Levy said slowly, "Lu-Chan does know you're dating, right? You're not doing this without asking her….right?" she pressed worriedly.
"Of course I know Levy-Chan1" Lucy rolled her eyes as she answered for Natsu. Natsu looked too indignant to make his own reply especially since Gray and Gajeel were now muttering rude comments about how a girl would never willingly date Natsu…..Lucy was now holding onto Natsu's arm for a whole different reason. "He wouldn't let me join Fairy Tail until I agreed to date him."
"Natsu!" Erza scolded. "How dare you exploit a fair maiden like that? You would withhold a girl's dream from her if she refused to sleep with you?! How truly cruel you are. I shall have to make you pay."
"What?!" Natsu squeaked fearfully. "No I'm not! I would have taken her anyway whether or not she wanted to be my girlfriend!"
"Really?" Erza said calmly, "and did you tell Lucy that?"
"….No."
Erza looked as if she was about to murder Natsu when Lucy decided it was time to quickly intervene. "It doesn't matter," she said hurriedly, "these last few years with Natsu have been the happiest of my life," she exchanged a loving look with Natsu who grinned like a great big goofy idiot, "Apart from when you decided to leave me with only a note," she added, "I don't think I have entirely forgiven you for that one."
The grin slid right off of Natsu's face. "But Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucy!" he whined. "That was over three years ago!"
The confusion of what Lucy and Natsu were confessing to have finally sunk in with several people, but Gray couldn't work it out. They had bene teammates since Lucy's arrival virtually and never, not once, had he seen anything that would suggest they were having a romance. "HOW COULD YOU HAVE BEEN A COUPLE ALL THIS TIME?!" he screamed, no longer coping with the lack of evidence. "YOU DON'T ACT LIKE ONE!"
"Are you kidding?!" Happy yelled incredulously. "All they do is lovey-dovey stuff. It's so annoying. They always hold hands, Natsu always laid on Lucy's lap when he had motion sickness, they always wear matching things, Virgo acknowledges Natsu as her Master through his relationship to Lucy and makes them matching outfits, and they're really, really, gross at home."
"But-but-but Lucy always has a go at Natsu when he sneaks into her apartment," Gray pointed out, a little flustered at Happy's suddenly assertive speech, "and she really screams at him when he sleeps in her bed, no normal girlfriend would be bothered by that!"
"I am a lady," Lucy stressed in a snooty tone, "I was raised to be proper and virtuous. I wait for marriage until I can allow those liberties on my person."
"She has this really weird need for personal space too," Natsu grumbled, "And I'm only allowed to touch certain things at certain times. Not fair!"
"BUT YOU NEVER KISS!"
This time it was Mira, who was still horrified that there had been a romance going on and she hadn't noticed. What sort of matchmaker did that make her?!
"Lucy's fault," Natsu said instantly, "she doesn't like….what did ya call it, PBA or something?"
"PDA," Lucy corrected, "I don't like people knowing my business."
"HAPPY!" Multiple people shrieked at this point. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US?!"
"I thought you knew," Happy shrugged, "after all, since when has Natsu ever been interested in a girl before that he would bring her home, make her part of his team, stalk her constantly, and obsessively protect her to the point he almost killed several people."
"…..You make a good point," Macao sweat-dropped.
"Also Lucy gives me a really tasty fish each time they kiss so I won't tell."
The girls all shot Lucy a deadly glare. They had been left out on this juicy gossip because she bribed a damn cat to keep his mouth shut?! Damnit! Why hadn't they made a bribe to double the fish for the truth all those years ago?!
"Is that all?" Lucy asked impatiently, "Can we go now…..before the authorities come and ask why there are tigers roaming the streets."
"No," Mirajane crossed her arms stubbornly, "I feel cheated. I'm not moving until I see one kiss."
Lucy looked like she was about to argue but Natsu, having grown up with these people and knew exactly how terrifying Mirajane could be when she wanted something and someone was refusing her to have it, didn't give her a chance as he grabbed her by the elbow, pulled her into him, and crashed his lips against hers.
Gray, Gajeel, and Laxus all wrinkled their nose in disgust as Lucy groaned into the kiss, entwined her fingers into Natsu's hair, and returned it with great gusto. "Disgusting," Gajeel muttered.
"Juvia doesn't care!" Juvia sparkled with happiness. "Love Rival can no longer be a Love Rival if she's dating Natsu-san!"
Her happiness disappeared to shock when Natsu suddenly ripped Lucy's shirt, and her bra went flying onto a dumbstruck Elfman's head. Gajeel was barely able to cover Wendy's eyes in time, and Macao was too busy staring at Lucy's breasts to do the same for Romeo so Erza stepped in as the sensible parent.
"Fucking hell!" Gajeel swore. "Whatever happened to being a lady? I thought they were waiting for marriage."
"Oh," Happy said dismissively, "they've been married for weeks now."
"WHAT?!"
The guild would have told Natsu and Lucy off for keeping secrets from them (whatever happened to that honest, open, bond they were all supposed to have?!) but Natsu's trousers disappeared and they all decided now was the best time to go.
That and the authorities had just found out it was Fairy Tail that let the tigers loose from their cage and it was definitely time to leave before they all got arrested.
