A/N: New bio update

Raven Branwen has been known by many names throughout her long life on the planet of Remnant: Bandit Queen of Mistral, Leader of the Branwen Tribe, ex-wife of Taiyang Xiao Long, and even the Spring Maiden to a select few individuals. One thing that nobody dared to call her was a coward, mainly due to the immediate death that followed those that was brave enough to do so. Raven Branwen was no coward for Raven Branwen felt no fear and the one thing Raven Branwen does not do is to run from a fight.

But if you were to ask how she felt about that philosophy now, then it would be a lie if Raven said that the feeling of fear hadn't crept into the woman's mind. Especially when she saw the giant in front of her swing the massive sword in its hands towards where she was currently standing. Snapping herself out of whatever trance she was in, Raven leapt to the air, her eyes burning behind her mask.

Growling, she gathered thunder clouds above her head once more, sparks of lightning gathering in her hand before blasting the ten-foot tall enemy in front of her with volley after volley of attacks. The red giant, however, took everything without even flinching before turning its attention towards the Spring Maiden once again as it swung its massive arms in retaliation.

Clicking her tongue in frustration, Raven swiftly dodged the oncoming attacks with relative ease as she flew away from the giant's reach.

"Doesn't seem like it's fast enough to hit me. Doesn't matter if none of my attacks are doing anything" Raven cursed before she noticed the woman she faced moments before, standing in front of the giant and glaring straight at her. Realizing that the giant was mimicking the woman's moves, a smug smirk formed on the Raven's face.

Gathering the leaves from the nearby forests, Raven threw every single one of them towards her opponent in the hopes to disrupt her vision. Almost immediately, the giant started to flail its arms around, mimicking the woman in front of it. Not willing to let the chance slip through, Raven sped through the air and towards her opponent, sword drawn and wreathed in fire and lightning.

With a heavy cry, the Spring Maiden slashed down towards her opponent to end the fight once and for all. A look of shock formed on the Maiden's face a moment later, however, when the giant in front of her suddenly disappeared as her attack was met with resistance in the form of twin blades.

"Nice try" came the woman's voice before she proceeded to deliver a flurry of devastating slashes towards Raven, taking a chunk of her aura with her.

Struggling to keep up with the woman, it took everything in her to block and parry her opponent's attacks. It was when the woman's attacks sliced her Grimm mask in two that Raven had to reassess her strategy. Eventually, the Spring Maiden jumped back to gain some distance unless she wanted to meet her untimely end that day.

"Hmm… So that's what you look like under that mask of yours" the woman quipped as a triumphant look formed on her face "You're pretty good in a fight, too. Unfortunately for you, I've faced better. Much better. Even with how I am now, I could take you"

"Huh?!" Raven uttered, as her grip on Omen tightened. Being looked down on by this woman whom she just met from out of nowhere lit a new fire in her heart and suddenly, all feelings of fear inside the Spring Maiden were swiftly extinguished. Entering a fighting stance, the fires around her eyes burned once more as her weapon glowed an icy blue "I'm going to make you regret ever meeting me"

"Hehe" the woman said, entering into a stance of her own, twin blades at the ready as an excited smile formed on her face "Those are certainly fighting words"

A second of tense silence passed before both women charged at each other.

"This lady's pretty good" Musashi thought to herself as she dodged an incoming wall of ice that came out of the red-eyed woman's sword "Red eyes? Huh, reminds me of Qrow"

Dodging the elemental attack, Musashi swung her blades only for her to hit nothing but air, surprised at the sudden disappearance of her opponent. The shift in the air behind her immediately took Musashi out of her daze as she ducked under her enemy's swing. Rolling forward and immediately turning around, the samurai was able to swiftly block the woman's attacks.

Not fazed by Musashi blocking her attacks, the black-haired woman only increased the intensity of her assault as her weapon now became covered in flames. A confused expression appeared on Musashi's face as her opponent jumped back to gain some distance before realization dawned on the young samurai. The woman drew her sword back before swinging it towards Musashi, releasing a torrent of flame towards her at the same time.

Unfazed, Musashi simply sheathed her swords before she drew one of them and cut the flames in half, all in one swift motion, surprising her opponent. Not relenting on her assault, Musashi leapt at her opponent, sword drawn as the samurai aimed for the woman's head. Unfortunately for Musashi, the woman was able to bring her sword up just in time to block what would have been a devastating attack.

Growling, the red-eyed woman glared at Musashi as her arms suddenly shot up and grabbed the samurai by the neck. Before Musashi could react, the woman sent a large jolt of electricity through her body, effectively paralyzing her for a few seconds. Not willing to let the chance slip her by, her opponent then proceeded to deliver a devastating assault that sent Musashi flying and crashing to the ground.

Down but not out, the samurai quickly jumped back to her feet to dodge an incoming attack from the woman, all signs of joy mirth having left Musashi's face as a scowl now took its place.

"That's a nice expression you have there" the woman taunted, a smirk on her face as flames covered her eyes and sword "Ready to admit defeat, yet? Do so and I might just let you leave with all your limbs attached"

"Don't be so sure of yourself" Musashi replied before the two women resumed their battle. It didn't take long for her opponent to realize that she was unmatched when it came to sword skills as the woman decided to escape the samurai's reach by taking to the skies. Not willing to relent her assault just yet, Musashi focused all her strength on her legs before she jumped towards her opponent.

Eyes widening in shock, it was all the red-eyed woman could do as Musashi suddenly found herself floating above her opponent before the samurai delivered a devastating blow that sent her crashing to the ground below. Staggering to her feet, the black-haired woman glared at Musashi as the samurai dropped down in front of her.

Not wanting to waste any more time, Musashi leapt towards the woman, her swords raised high before delivering a crushing attack that was blocked by her opponent's own sword. The attack not only sent the woman crashing to a tree but it also completely destroyed her weapon. As the dust settled, Musashi saw the woman desperately trying to get to her feet as she clung to the tree she had crashed into.

"I win" Musashi exclaimed as she rushed her opponent. The samurai's eyes then widened in surprise as her opponent suddenly leapt into a shimmering red portal that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere next to her. Not willing to let her escape, Musashi quickly delivered a devastating attack that severed the woman's left arm before the portal disappeared a moment later.

Breathing heavily, Musashi then took a few seconds to compose herself before she made her way towards the direction the woman's tribe was, a small frown having formed on her face.

Taiyang Xiao-Long was a simple man. Having retired from active duty as a Huntsman, he enjoyed the simple things in life, with those things ranging from tending to his modest flower garden, watching the evening news as he slowly drank coffee, teaching the next generation of Huntsman in Signal and most importantly, taking care of his two daughters.

Which was why the experienced Huntsman was caught by surprise as a shimmering red portal suddenly appeared above his kitchen table before his ex-wife, whom he hasn't seen for the better part of two decades, crashed and subsequently ruined his lunch, not to mention his kitchen table and floor.

"Wha-?! Raven?! What-?!" Whatever negative emotion that was about to form inside the single father of two died immediately as he noticed that the woman's left arm had been had been cut in half and that blood had started to pool on his kitchen floor. Forcing the woman to lay on her back, the man was about to inspect his ex-wife's condition before being interrupted by the arrival of his daughters.

"Dad, we're home!" came the voice of his eldest from the front of the house "Is lunch ready yet?"

Looking between the bleeding form of his ex-wife and the entrance to his kitchen, the man could only say one word in response, "Crap"

It was official. Remnant was officially the worst world Musashi had been in. For some reason, ever since she stepped foot into this world, she had a feeling that her overall strength had gone down. Not only that, she had a strong suspicion that she just couldn't use some of her skills and techniques for some reason. That battle before made it clear to her: Whatever happened to her between her departure from Shimousa and her arrival in Remnant, something caused her to not be at a hundred percent.

"Ugh… I hate this stupid world" Musashi grumbled to herself as she trekked through the woods, meeting minimal resistance along the way except for the local flora. Finally, after a few more minutes of walking, she came upon what looked to be a makeshift campsite. A wooden gate surrounded by a wall made of wooden spikes on both sides appeared before the samurai with two men standing in front of it, both of them holding a bladed weapon in one hand.

"Hey, who the-?!"

"I'm going to stop you right there" Musashi said, cutting the man off with a tired glare "I've just come out of a very annoying battle with a woman who can apparently control the weather and fly around and I am not in the mood to talk much so I'm just going to get straight to the point"

"Oh, yeah? And what's that?" one of the men asked, weapon raised.

"I have good intel that you have kidnapped villagers in that tribe of yours that you're going to put up for ransom" Musashi stated, glare not letting up "I'm really not in the mood for a negotiation so I'm only going to give you one chance: Let them go. Now"

The two men exchanged an amused look with each other before one of them sneered at Musashi, "Or what?"

Nobody had ever accused Jaune Arc of being the smartest person in any room he was in nor did he ever claim to be one. Based on his current situation, it doesn't seem like that's going to change anytime soon. The boy sighed for what felt like the hundredth time that day as he gripped the bars of the cage he was currently in.

"I can just imagine the look on dad's face now" the young blonde mumbled to himself, looking up to the sky as if looking for a miracle "That is, if I ever get out of here"

"Cheer up, kid. We'll be out of here soon enough" a voice called out as Jaune felt a tap on his shoulder. Looking back, Jaune saw that it was an old man who had decided to talk to him.

"Yeah?" Jaune asked, a spark of hope filling the boy's eyes

"Oh, yeah. The Branwens do this all the time. They raid, they kidnap, then they sell you for ransom" the old man shrugged, completely unfazed by his current situation "Heck, a buddy of mine's been ransomed off three times this past month alone. Pretty sure he's friends with these jackasses now"

"What happens to all the items these bandits take?" Jaune asked as his eyes strayed towards his family's sword and sheath. It's not like he ever learned how to use them but Jaune would very much like to not lose them so soon into his journey

"Fat chance we're ever gonna get anything back" the old man replied with a shrug before changing the subject "So, you from around here?"

"Mistral? No. I'm from Orleans, a small settlement that's south of Vale" Jaune replied.

"Yeah? If you're from Vale then what are you doing in the ass end of Mistral?" the old man asked.

"Well… It's a bit of a funny story…" Jaune said as he rubbed the back of his head "I wanted to join Beacon so I got on this boat that I was told would be a shortcut to Vale. Anyway, this boat then suddenly came face-to-face with a freak storm and before I knew it, I found myself waking up on a beach"

"I thought you said you were from the south of Vale?" someone from further in the cage asked "What were you doing on a boat?"

"In my defense, I had never stepped foot outside of Orleans before on my own" Jaune argued "So, when the guy said he knew a shortcut to take me to Beacon, I took it. He looked trustworthy enough so I thought, what's the harm?"

Most of the people there gave the young blonde a knowing look at his question as Jaune let out a nervous chuckle.

"Obviously, hindsight is twenty-twenty" Jaune said "Anyway, a few weeks later, I found myself arriving at your village not long after that. A few days after that, these bandits showed up which brings me to my present situation"

"Tough luck, kid" someone said, a woman this time as Jaune could only sigh in agreement "How old are you, anyway?"

"I just turned sixteen a few weeks ago"

"Sixteen? I thought you had to be seventeen to enter an Academy?"

"Well yeah but I'm not… exactly an expert with the sword and shield so I thought to maybe travel to Beacon and get better with it before applying to Beacon next year" Jaune said in his defense.

"Not an expert? How good are you with those things?"

Before the young boy could answer, an explosion from the front of the camp they were in stole all their attention. A few moments later, screams and gunfire could be heard as every bandit in the camp charged towards the source of the explosion.

"What's going on?" Jaune asked as he looked outside his cage as more and more bandits started to charge towards the intruder.

"Your guess is as good as mine, kid" someone answered "It's probably the Grim"

"G-Grim?" Jaune asked, worry on his face as his attention immediately turned towards Crocea Mors.

"Nah, couldn't be. Grim don't usually cause explosions like that"

"You sure about-?"

"We have a Huntress!" a bandit shouted as he ran past their cage, a loaded rifle in his hands "Everyone, wake up! A huntress just tore down our gate!"

"Where's the boss?!" another bandit asked, a machete in his hand.

"Fuck if I know!"

"Well, there you have it. Today's your lucky day, kid. A Huntress is here to save us" an old man behind Jaune said with a pat on his shoulder as the screams outside seemed to intensify in the last few seconds.

"Yeah but with our village destroyed, it's not like we have anywhere else to go" someone else added "Might as well throw ourselves to the Grim"

"There's always Argus. I hear they've got places for refugees like us" someone suggested.

"Wait, do you guys hear that?" Jaune asked, interrupting the conversation.

"No, why?"

"Exactly. What happened to all the screaming bandits?" Jaune asked but before anyone could speak their thoughts, a voice from outside their cage caught all their attention.

"Hello, villagers! My name is Miyamoto Musashi and I have come to set you free!" a voice exclaimed that immediately grabbed everyone's attention

"I guess this Musashi lady is the Huntress that's saving us" one of the villagers said as their savior stepped towards them, with her hands and parts of her face covered in blood. At least, Jaune assumed it was blood.

Qrow scowled as his scroll vibrated in his pocket as he and an unconscious Fall Maiden trekked through the wilds of Mistral. Quickly putting the woman on his back down and leaning against a tree, the veteran Huntsman answered the call.

"Ozpin? What is it? Look, now's not a good-" Qrow said only to be cut off.

"…"

"No, Amber's still alive. I'm headed to Argus right now" Qrow said

"…"

"Raven?" Qrow asked with a sigh "What's she done now?"

"…"

"She what?!" Qrow shouted into his scroll, eyes wide in shock at the news he just received.

[Chapter END]

A/N: And that's Chapter 4. Really hope you guys like this one. I had a hard time trying to write Raven vs Musashi Round 2 but in the end, I'm satisfied with how it turned out. Also, I'm going to just assume that the Amber incident took place around eight to ten months before Beacon starts.

And now we have Jaune entering the story. I have some fun (maybe a bit cliché) ideas on where to take him in this story so I hope you guys and gals stay tuned. Anyway, that's Chapter 4.

As always, fave, follows, and reviews are always appreciated
