Summary: Inspired by a fanfic called Bets by Zonela (Seriously recommend this fanfic, its hilarious). Gray won the bet, so why does it feel like he lost?
Pairings: Gray/Juvia, implied one-sided Jet/Levy/Droy, implied Gray/Lucy friendship, implied Mira/Juvia friendship, and Gray/Mira friendship.
YouTube Prompt: Fairy Tail tribute to 'Utopia' by Within Temptation.
It was pretty much the average day in Fairy Tail as Mira watched her friends with great interest. As always Levy was reading while Jet and Droy drooled all over her, Natsu and Lucy were bickering over what job to do, Erza was eating cake, Laxus was scowling in a corner, and Juvia was all over Gray.
The unusual thing about the day had been the fact that Juvia was wearing a maid's costume….no, wait, scratch that, there's nothing unusual about one of the girls (or occasionally the boys) cosplaying especially as a maid.
It's just that it was usually Erza or Lucy, not Juvia.
"Gray-sama!" Juvia cried out ecstatically as she leaned over Gray. Her breasts bounced and wobbled underneath the tight, black, dress, made even tighter with her white apron acting like a corset. "Juvia has made Gray-sama his lunch right down to the very, last, detail of his request. Shall Juvia now feed Gray-sama?"
"No!" Gray barked, his cheeks bright red as his eyes darted anywhere but at Juvia. He caught Mira's indignant glare for Juvia's sake and gulped. "I mean," he coughed awkwardly, "no thank you, Juvia," he said primly, "I would very much like to enjoy the food you have painstakingly made for me on my own."
"Very well," Juvia placed the tray down in front of Gray, and Mira was impressed at the thirteen, small, tasteful dishes that was prepared there. Juvia had made a varied selection from cool cucumber soup to some sort of fruity sorbet to utter perfection. "Is there anything else Juvia can do for Gray-sama? Fetch him a drink? Do his laundry? Give him a massage?" at this Juvia fluttered her eyelashes. "Juvia would give Gray-sama's body all the attention it deserves to relax."
"NO!" Gray yelled as he leaped away as far as possible from Juvia. "My body doesn't need any attention to relax." Probably not true, even Mira, all the way from the bar, could see that Gray looked as if someone had shoved Max's broom up his arse, and was then then told he had to battle all of Zeref's demons and Erza at the same time as declaring his love for a women on stage for all to hear. He was that tense and nervous. "Could you please….erm….go and find my clothes! Yeah," he grinned easily, happy to find a solution to his problems, "find my clothes, then clean them all, even the ones in my bedroom, before you organise them in my cupboard, and then while you're at it you can clean my room."
"Gray-sama wants Juvia to touch his clothes!" Juvia clasped her chest as she looked like someone had told her all of her dreams were coming true…..which was probably happening right now minus the kissing and thirty odd children she kept mumbling about. "Gray-sama wants Juvia in his bedroom?!" Juvia swooned slightly. "Oh Juvia cannot wait to please Gray-sama!"
"DON'T SAY IT LIKE THAT!" Gray exploded, bright red with embarrassment, "PEOPLE WILL GET THE WRONG IDEA!"
Juvia seemed oblivious to Gray's embarrassed anger and happily curtsied, said something submissive that would definitely give people the wrong idea, and skipped out of the guild.
Mira waited two beats before she made her way to Gray, slid into the seat next him, and then smiled radiantly up at him. "Okay," Mira nudged Gray as she settled beside him, "Spill."
"Spill what?" Gray asked innocently as he bit into a sandwich Juvia had prepared for him. "My lunch? No thank you, Juvia's cooking is too good to waste."
"Well you know what they say," Mira said sweetly, "the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Gray choked slightly on his sandwich and Mira relished getting one over him as he spluttered and coughed up a large chunk of chewed up bread. "Now tell me the truth. You hate having someone being in your personal space and worshipping you like that, so why are you letting Juvia do it?"
"She lost the bet."
"Bet?" Mira tilted her head inquiringly.
"Yeah," Gray swallowed the rest of his sandwich, "a few days ago we made a bet that we could break our habits longer than the other," Gray explained, "she was to go a day without stalking me and I was to go a day without stripping. She lost when she heard I was going shopping with Lucy and ended up following us everywhere."
"….Are you sure you won?" Mira asked. "It doesn't look like you won. You look so miserable one would think you lost sorely."
"Of course I won!" Gray snapped. "Loser was to be a servant to the winner for an entire day. Already Juvia greeted me with breakfast in bed, cleaned my kitchen and bathroom, splashed Natsu whenever I have asked, made me this lunch, and is now doing my laundry. My laundry," Gray stressed, "do you know I have socks with mould growing in them because I accidentally threw them in a tree and left them there for three months?!"
"No, I didn't," Mira screwed up her nose in disgust, "and I could have easily lived my entire life never knowing that."
"Sorry," Gray said sheepishly, "the point is," he sighed, "I definitely won."
"But….?" Mira prodded.
"It doesn't feel like it," Gray admitted reluctantly, "I somehow feel like I'm the one that lost the bet. I don't know why. If it was Natsu or Loke or even Erza, I would totally be enjoying making them do my will but not Juvia. It just feels….like I lost."
"That's because," Mira smirked, "you did lose. If Juvia won she would get to touch you, make you do what she wishes, and let's face it, she only wishes to please you, if Juvia had lost, she would get to touch you and please you in whatever you wish. Either way, Juvia is the winner."
"….Damnit!" Gray's eyes bulged out of their sockets in realisation. "I've been fucking tricked!"
"Yep," Mira agreed cheerfully, "you took a sucker's bet, you sucker!"
