Chapter 10

Life seemed as if it were the happiest time since Thanksgiving. Kathrine was slowly healing from Heather's cruel demeanor and their break-up, though, she was occasionally hooking up with Alastor and his girlfriend, Dorcus, but they were doing their best to not make a habit out of it, and to Sirius's disapproval, Kathrine was hanging around Severus Snape. Sirius had even questioned her on possibly sleeping with the boy, which had earned him a big red mark across his face.

To make Sirius's life a bit happier though, he was finally dating Aurelia, who was now constantly running interference between Kathrine and him. Mostly keeping Kathrine from kicking his butt and scolding Sirius for not thinking before he spoke.

And with a more positive note before the end of that year and summer beginning, Peter had started bringing a girl around named Annie, both were so adorable as they blushed at being near each other. But James was sadly simply making things more difficult for himself when it came to Lily.

August 1975

With summer there and soon to be gone, Aurelia had reluctantly shown them how to transform into Animagus, and while James and Sirius liked their forms, Peter was the least happy about it.

"Peter, think of it this way, the smaller you are, no one takes notice of you, meaning you can be a better lookout and slip in and out of more difficult places than any of us others can. Your form actually has more advantages than disadvantages, other than the lack of strength that the others have, but you can still train that, making the lack of strength your strength. You have teeth, even little nails, those can still do damage." Aurelia told him, trying to cheer the boy up.

Sighing, Peter huffed a big huff of annoyance. "What good is a rat? Absolutely nothing, other than being a coward and spying on people," he told her with irritation and disappointment.

Huffing, Aurelia picked up Remus's book beside her and tapped the pouting boy between the shoulder blades, "Peter Pettigrew, I cannot believe you!" she snapped, standing from her sitting place beside the apple tree in the back of James's family courtyard a stomped away.

"What in blazing's hell did I do!" Peter shouted with shock. He'd never seen her angry like that. At least not at him.

Blinking curiously at his friend, Sirius looked from Peter to his fleeing girlfriend then back to his friend, "You basically said you didn't appreciate her teaching us our animagus, which is actually illegal by the way," Sirius told the frightened and confused boy.

Stumbling over his words, Peter glanced between Aurelia now sitting off in the short distance from them, and back to Sirius and James before puffing out a defeated sigh and walking his way towards their upset female friend. "Relia?"

"Go away, I am still angry," she told him softly, feeling terrible for actually smacking the boy with Remus's Peter Pan book he adored so much. He'd let her borrow the book over the summer, no doubt he'd be irritated she smacked Peter with it and may never let her borrow another book again. Okay, that was dramatic of her to think, but she couldn't help it. She'd rather feel bad about something little and non-relevant to the situation rather than feeling bad for smacking Peter with a book when she could have gone about that 100% differently, and far better than she just had.

Both sighed and turned to face the other, "I'm sorry," the two said in unison. It had them pausing for a moment, wondering why the other was apologizing, then, before they knew it, Aurelia and Peter began to lightly laugh at the irony of them saying their apology at the same time.

"I shouldn't have used the book to smack you, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done it in the first place." Aurelia said softly, embarrassed she had reacted so immaturely.

"Yeah, well, I do have a bad level of confidence in myself. I guess you're right about those good things my form can be useful towards. But I have to ask, you've been on edge for the last few days. Is everything okay?" Peter asked her.

Aurelia sighed with tension as her mind turned towards the latest news she had been delt just a few days ago. It had been a private conversation between her, Albus, and Nicholas, and it had not been a pleasant one.

-Memory-

"My dear, I have some strange and rather disturbing news. It appears you have a Prophecy labeled with your name in the Hall of Prophecy. We must see this Prophecy as soon as possible. Please, come with us." Albus had told her.

However, as soon as she had taken the Orb into her hands, Aurelia had seen everything. The fear, the pain, the hope, and the love, the loss of that love, the pain of losing a sister, a friend, family. Everything. She saw the faces of those she had lost in previous lives, those she had loved, given birth to, all of it. But the words echoed through her mind as if the creature was whispering it into her ears right there in that very room with her; "Fear not child, for I have not come for you tonight. But, your soul does not belong here and those around so chose to love you, guard you and protect you, to give you a place. And a place you shall have, but your life must cycle thrice before a final path can be granted. A life of Thrice. For three lives you shall live, and three deaths you shall suffer. Whether by happiness or tragedy, you shall see them again. Do not fear me upon me coming to gather your soul next I see you. Now, awaken, my child of three souls."

Its words were strangely familiar to her, words she had heard in her sleep. And her nightmares had come flooding back all at once. Of being in a field of green in the dark of night and a flash of green and pain flooding her body, the pain her lungs suffered trying to breathe. The thick and sickly taste of her blood in her mouth mixed with something nasty, finally the cloaked figure. Death. The way it had gently touched her cheek, to soothe her pain, the pain it too felt in itself watching her dying so slowly and full of nothing but pain. The way it had taken her pain away and the dark skies turning green before it all went dark. Then a burning bright light and a baby's cries, that child's life moved forward then it was ended far too soon, "Mellie!" the cries of a girls' screams startled her, and then it was as of that terrible dream had never happened when another baby's cries echoed with the sound of a mother's soft humming voice filled her with joy and warmth. And then, the sound of sudden bickering between a little girl to her sister.

"Mummy, can I name her!"

"No, I get to name her! Mummy and Daddy named you and me!"

"Alright then, come on up Petunia, Lily, you too da'ling." The mother told them both calmly and sweetly.

Her body was shifted between the mother's warm arms to little arms, the soft intake of a happy breath as the girl holding her looked down at her, it was then she finally managed to open her eyes to try to look at the girl holding her. Wondering why she was so little, then confused as to why she had thought that, then lost entirely and suddenly happy to be seeing the dark brunette girl's smiling face.

"Emma," Petunia whispered down to the baby.

Emma did her best to smile, but had yawned instead and did that cute, newborn baby lazy smile.

"Rosie, I like Rosie," Lily said, crawling up beside her sister.

"Fine, Emma Rosie," Petunia said with an annoyed huff.

Both parents had softly laughed at their two daughter's excitement, and the name had been set, though, they had both settled on Rose, rather than Rosie and had chosen that as a nickname.

Aurelia had gasped awake from the visions the orb had given her, it had been as if she had been sucked into the orb and given the chance to live those moments. While one was cold, terrifying, and confusing, the other had been warm, hopeful, loving, and confusing.

Coming back to the moment of Peter waiting for her to answer him, Aurelia smiled sadly and shrugged a little. "Just being a girl Pete, don't worry about it. I'll be okay. Promise," she told him with a smile.

Nodding to her, Peter gave in, knowing he'd never get it from her. "Okay," He told her with a smile, taking her hand into his and playfully kissing her knuckles. He'd smiled knowing it had gotten a smile out of her and that was all that mattered to him. Seeing her smile. She was so cheerful almost all the time that it hurt to see her unhappy. And if she was unhappy, then Sirius was unhappy. And Peter did not like that.

However, while she had not told Peter, she had told Kathrine. Because she needed someone her age, as well as a female, to understand what to think of this.

November 1975

Their next year started as it always did. Laughter, sorting, food, more laughter. Then it was off to bed and classes the next morning. But as the days moved forward there was nothing special about anything happening, other than the everyday drama of a teenager Witch/Wizard's life. However, today was different. Heather was currently in a heated argument with Aurelia.

"He's a second-year, Heather! He's learning for Merlin's sake! Hexing the boy to teach him a lesson is of no necessity to you! He's annoying, yes, but he isn't hurting anyone. And you're a student as well, his behavior does not give you the right to magically teach the boy the way you just did! If it's becoming that serious, then you should have been speaking to the professors about his improper use of his magic here at school! Not tampering with the boy's memories!"

"What's going on?" the sandy-haired boy asked curiously. "Where am I? Oh, hello," The boy said looking at the two arguing girls. "Who-who are you? Can you tell me what's going on please?" he asked curiously and very confused. He was close to becoming scared. One girl looked cross as she turned her eyes towards him, and the boy had shrunk behind the redhead, who thankfully coved him with an arm behind her back.

"Oh please! The perverted brat deserved it! And you mothering the little beast isn't helping any!" Heather screamed. She was red in the face with rage and all she wanted to do right now was hex, Aurelia! But she couldn't. She knew the consequences of doing that would be worse than being expelled. And those consequences happened to have a long list of names. Especially the Gryffindor delinquents the redhead hung out with, plus Kathrine, Lily, and Marlene McKinnon. 'I think I'd rather be expelled,' It was really the only thing keeping her hand from raising her wand. To the fact that Heather thought so little of Aurelia to think that the others were the first threat. Heather was soon to realize the truth and the opposite reality of her thinking.

"Gilderoy? We've already been through this, your name is Gilderoy Lockhart, and you're a second-year student at Hogwarts. You're twelves -years old,"

Gilderoy chuckled at the name the girl had called him, he couldn't help it, he thought it was a very funny name. "Gilderoy? Well, that's a funny name," Gilderoy said with laughing amusement at the name, "Wait, is… Is that my name?" he asked. Blinking a few times he suddenly smiled at the redhead that was once again suddenly before him in a blink of an eye. The shining wonder in his eyes quickly turned to an expression of fear as his mind suddenly blanked. No memory could come to him, no recollection of his time before this, no childhood memories, not his family even, or Hogwarts even. "Um, um, miss?" he said to her with fear, his eyes watering as he held his hands close to him with fear at his surroundings as he looked around them curiously to the blues and silvers of the large room they were in then back to the older girl. It was a lovely room he was in, however, he had no recollection as to how he got there, nothing at all! Not even himself. Not his name, not his age, his favorite things, the things he disliked. None of it was stored in his mind. "Do you know who I am?" he asked her.

Feeling a shot of fear for the boy jolt through her like electricity, Aurelia looked to Heather, who she found grinning and softly chuckling under her hand at the boy's fear. "What the hell have you done to him?" she asked the girl. A girl who had been her friend for a time, a nice and caring girl. She had no idea what had happened to Heather, and truthfully she wish she did know. If only to help the girl get away from whatever was causing this. Horrified at the fact Heather continued to find this completely hilarious, Aurelia gently took Gilderoy's hand and began to walk the boy out of the Ravenclaw Common room, "Come on, I think I know someone who can help you," she told the boy with a smile.

They'd made it down the stairs and through the halls, heading towards Dumbledore's office. Unfortunately, Heather had begun to follow them, ranting and raving for a moment, then began to mutter little insults under her breath as they walked on.

Gilderoy was beginning to grate Aurelia's patience with his constant forgetfulness and the massive amount of questions the boy would suddenly burst out to her, however, she could not and would not be angry at him. It was Heather she was about to turn around and strangle. "Heather, if you are not going to help the situation that you have caused a helpless and innocent boy then please, go find someone else to torture, would you!" Aurelia snapped over her shoulder.

With Aurelia currently rushing through the halls and trying her best to ignore the boy's questions and Heather behind them pestering her to a new level Aurelia never knew she had, she had never noticed she'd brought along the attention of a certain number of people. That being a few members of the Black family, the Malfoy family, who were only there to see how the school was fairing under Albus Dumbledore and for the newly married Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. It didn't happen often, however, a few families would visit the school and decide if they wanted their child to attend that school or a secondary school. That being the one in Paris, though they all knew the Malfoy's would stay strickly with Hogwarts. The secondary group with the adults happened to be James Potter and Sirius Black.

Sirius's parents were simply there because Sirius had gotten in so much trouble that the parents had been forced to be contacted to a different level. The boy was being blamed for setting a fire in the school, though they all knew he hadn't done it. It was why James was with Sirius now. Trying to talk reason into the boy's parents. However, the sudden attack that Heather had dealt to Aurelia's back had sent the girl flying forward, taking poor Gilderoy with her and skidding across the stone floors in shock and small amounts of pain.

Sirius and James had been so shocked by what had suddenly happened that they'd stepped forward to run for Aurelia and a panicking Gilderoy, who was acting rather strange when the boy began to cry, freaking out and asking what that had been and asking the one who'd done the attacking why. They'd been stopped by the other adults and Sirius's brother.

"Little girls shouldn't mettle in magic when they don't understand the definition of defense, Aurelia," Heather growled as she stalked towards the girl while the redhead she had once been friends with lifted herself up from the stone floor onto her hands and knees. Heather was so angry when she sent another attack toward the two then grew even angrier when Aurelia shoved Gilderoy away from her. Aurelia was hit with another attack that sent her flying further.

She screamed with pain at the blast that sent her once again flying across the stone floors. This was the moment Aurelia knew for sure that something wasn't right. This wasn't the Heather she had become friends with. This was someone else.

"Relia!" James and Sirius shouted rushing out to her from Walburga's and Regulus's grasp, rushing past their Headmaster who was about to intervene. Both mother and son had tried to stop the boys, however, that had been a failed attempt their second time around.

Fearful as to how this situation may escalate, the adults protected the other children nearby them, that only being Regulus Black and a panicking and crying Ravenclaw who appeared to not understand what the heck was going on. Narcissa had eased the confused and terrified boy further away from this insanity and began to question him, checking him over for any injuries.

Checking the boy over for themselves, Walburga Black looked to the Headmaster, "Albus, the boy's memory has been messed with, he has no memory of Hogwarts, nothing. When did this boy come here?" she questioned, her tone was a level of demand.

"His name is Gilderoy Lockhart, he's a second-year Ravenclaw. Heather, did you do this?" Albus asked her with demand, standing between the three students behind him and her.

Huffing, Heather lowered her wand with annoyance, "Hello Professor, how nice of you to join us," Heather growled, "Why don't you all move and let the two of us girl's just fight this out, get it out of our system. Yeah?" she said with anxious nerves.

Curious and worried about what was going on to cause this strange behavior from this particular girl, Albus retained his stance, "I'm sorry Heather, but I can't do that. I take your avoidance of my question as a yes then?" he asked. He was stunned when he deflected a sudden attack from the blonde, the madness gleaming in her eyes worried the Headmaster further. Albus was so struck by the shock that one of his students was attacking him. Though with her being less experienced than he was, Albus was able to deflect her attack without issue. However, the curses she was now using towards him directly were mind-bending to the confusion as to where she had learned these particular curses.

The worst thing about Heather being the one losing her mind was the fact that the girl was one of their best students when it came to dueling, as well as Defense Against the Dark Arts and the lead for their Dueling club. All in all, Heather was one wicked dueler, even for a fifth year.

Hanging onto James's arms, both boys tried to keep them all behind their Headmaster and Aurelia behind them. "Professor!" Aurelia shouted with panic as Sirius and James helped her up, James wrapped his arms around her in a brother manner and moved them behind Sirius who took a defensive stance in front of them while Albus deflected Heather's attacks. Seeing Sirius move around Albus and begin his own attacks toward the blonde, Aurelia felt her heart stop with fear as a gust of wind blew past Sirius and Albus, blowing James and Aurelia's hair back, "Sirius! Don't!"

Fearful for his friend, but knowing he had to get them both out of the way of this fight, James wrapped his arms further around Aurelia and lifted her up onto her feet, "Come on!"

Sirius and Albus blinked with shock at Heather suddenly Disapperted. That was not good. "Sirius!" Albus called for the boy, grabbing his shirt and pulling the boy behind him as they turned to look around the area. But she was gone. They glanced around hoping to find her and thankful James was moving himself and Aurelia out of the area. Albus was in shock, more shock than he thought he could have possibly been in. This couldn't be happening!

Hearing Aurelia's sharp intake of breath from his hand pressing into her back, James cursed and moved to lift her up into his arms, only to be blasted in the back by a painful and searing hot curse that ripped a painful shout from him and sent him skidding forwards, past Sirius and Albus and the now empty spot Heather had stood. Heather had been there one moment, then she had vanished. But the worst part of this moment was the fact that he had dropped Aurelia. She was now in the direct line of fire.

In a rage at being deflected, her mind shut down as she screamed with fury as the once calm and loveable Ravenclaw blonde went into a frenzy, she disapperated then reappeared after a few moments of keeping Sirius and Albus on their toes, confusing them with her continued absences before she appeared behind James Potter and sent the Gryffindor boy flying, for kind him to drop Aurelia back to the stone floor. "I'll cut your heart out!" Heather screamed. She was not expected to be sent flying herself by Aurelia attacking her with such force from her own spell, nor had she expected to be grabbed by the invisible forces of a spell and tossed towards the open hall and the stone railing. With the pain of being slammed back into the stone railing, Heather shouted in pain and collapsed to the stone floor. Glaring up towards the now wobbly redhead trying to stand. Heather grunted as she forced herself to stand, but the crude and cold hand that wrapped around her throat, another cold and crud hand had taken hold of her wrist, stopping her from attacking any further.

Glaring over her shoulder at who the hell was dumb enough to come up behind her, she froze, wide-eyed and all with terror at the person underneath the black cloak, their hood was pulled over to hide their identity, but she knew exactly who this was. "Sean-" choking on the man's name when he squeezed. Heather grabbed his wrists at the lack of air she was getting and the pain that began to come around. She couldn't breathe. With tears in her eyes, Heather wheezed in and out to try to get what air she could.

Sean sighed as he stopped Heather, looking towards the gathering before him, two boys crowding around Aurelia and the Headmaster standing close to the three-fifth years and the other adults having their wands drawn towards him, "Ladies and Gentlemen." He rasped, then his eyes fell upon the girl, "Hello, sister. How nice to see you after so long." He said, his voice was rough and crackly-scratchy, almost like he'd gargled nails. "Heather, dear, time to go. Sage, it was good seeing you again." And with that, the cloaked man was gone.

Confused as they disappeared, Aurelia collapsed to the stone floor. She sucked in a breath as two sets of hands grabbed her. When she focused her watering eyes on Sirius and James, she began to cry uncontrollably. No one knew what the hell had just happened. And the Malfoy's were certainly not pleased. Albus had taken to his office for days discussing the situation with the Malfoy's and other families as well as the Ministry of Magic.

A student had attacked him and others in the presence of other families as well as used a strong memory charm on a student as well. He could not save Heather after this, hell, he wasn't sure if he could save his job as headmaster after this. However, his surprise came in the form of the Black family's head Family member, Narcissa's father, Cygnus Black the third had come to his defense. "I can vouch for Headmaster Dumbledore. He protected us all, even if my nephew and his friend were both reckless, they too did their parts as wizards. Heather McMartin has resigned herself to her own actions, and I for one do believe that Professor Dumbledore should not be punished for his student's behavior as dark as her intentions were. I have to admit it makes me wonder if Mss. McMartin's actions are truly her own with her strange behavior after a privet conversation with the young woman she had targeted." Cygnus explained in his cold and aristocratic tone. "If I may, Minister, I'd suggest looking into the McMartin family."

March 2029

He snuck through the halls late that night, his cloak drawn over him and his wand drawn. He'd followed Sean to the machine a few nights ago and watched the man go through the bright burning blue light of the machine. The trembling figure beside him clung to his arm, her hand linked in through his own. He knew, that even if he had been abusive to the girl, he had not been as abusive as others. She was showing clear signs of Stockholm syndrome towards him. He had only struck her that one time when he'd used her as a link to Aurora. To punish her for leaving him. But he'd felt a slight connection through the blonde holding onto him, like a sibling relationship. One he'd never had with his other siblings. He'd kept her close since he'd saved her from being killed or used to produce children. He was not a fan of his father's ways. And forceful childbirth or the conception of a child was something he did disagree with to a very large degree. He supposed it had something to do with his own mother. A forced bride who was forced to bear Bane after the act to create him. She had always told him she loved him, but he'd never felt such love emotionally towards anyone.

His father and other siblings had been the only ones to have hurt him. It was why he loved pain so much. He'd associated pain with his mother's voice, "I love you, my little Prince." She used to tell him. The first time he had ever felt his heart jolt to life in his chest had been when he'd interacted with Aurora when she was a child. It was why he was so entranced by her.

Wrapping an arm around Nesrin holding onto him, Bane looked around the corner of the large room containing the machine. No one was in the room to their luck. "Come," he said, his tone was its usual coldness as he walked them into the room and towards the dial pad that looked like an ancient typewriter. Flicking his wand towards the door, he grinned when it slammed closed and locked, flicking his wand again the two of them watched as a clear shield raised against the doors. "No one will be getting in here for some time."

"A-are you sure? They-they can't hurt me anymore?" Nesrin asked timidly and filled with fear.

Looking at her, Bane saw her wide eyes filled with fear, the black hood covered her head a little, but it wasn't enough that he couldn't see her big eyes that made him think of a scared puppy, her blonde hair hung loosely around her and over the front of her shoulders. The silver-blue dress of silk she wore was light to her skin, she looked like a fairy tail elf she appeared so fair to any who saw her. Resting a hand on the top of her head over the black hood, Bane looked at her as she looked up at him. "And I will never harm you again either. Let's get you back to your sister." He told her. Punching in a date he tried to smile, though he knew his smiles always turned into sadistic grins. Nesrin had admitted very timidly that his smiles were more like promises of death. When he'd heard word Sean was to take Nesrin and himself to the past he knew it was not a two-way trip. It was not his father's way of saying, 'Go get your girl and bring the woman home.' No, he knew his father much better than Voldemort ever knew himself. Bane had rushed Nesrin into his mother's room that very night and hid them both in her secret room she had hidden from his father in her closet. His mother had watched for hours for them. "Take her, now, hurry. Sean has gone. But I do not know where or when he has left to. Hurry Bane." Even if his mother could be cruel to others, she had always been warm to him, and the daughter she had lost. A daughter his father had murdered before his own eyes when he was ten. Bane knew he was nothing like his father wanted for a long time, but he knew it was official when he'd released Aurora whilst he'd tormented Nesrin. He'd regrated hurting the girl as much as he had. She'd flinched from him for quite some time, he was honestly surprised she hadn't flinched when he'd placed his hand atop her head just now. Hearing the machine starting up with a humming roar, Bane looked over to the dial numbers showing the date he had entered. There were a few bad things about this machine, one was that it never gave you history dates previously used. So, he had to guess as to when Sean likely went to.

"Break the damn thing down! Who is in there!" Voldemort shouted in outrage.

"We do not know my Lord," a timid woman answered.

Petrified, Nesrin began to panic, latching onto Bane's muscled arm she sucked in a choaked breath as the doors began to be attacked. Just like the Haven. "Bane, th-they are coming," she whimpered.

Looking over his shoulder, he smirked as he looked at the door banging against the shield inside the room with them, "Yeah? I suppose they are. Come on, Estrella." Taking hold of her hand he walked up onto the platform to walk them into the swirling blue and white lights of the time-turners magic being directed onto the platform.

Feeling her eyes water with hot tears at the name he'd been calling her for the last several months, Nesrin pulled their linked hands back towards her, a gentle tug to tell him she was not going to go up there with him. "I won't help you hurt her. She's all I have left…." She said to him, looking behind him at the bright blue and white. The only way she had to Aurelia.

Seeing her fears and the obvious doubts she was displaying, Bane looked over her head to the doors, the collective spells that continued to slam against the doors, and the doors that continued to slam back into the shield and looked back to her big eyes full of fear and tears, "Estrella, we have to go."

Her bottom lip trembled as she suddenly started to weep at the name. It wasn't her name. She missed her name being said. It was like he'd replaced her with someone else. "You keep calling me that, why?" she asked him.

He stared at her for a moment. "She was my sister,"

Swallowing her fear and the bile that suddenly moved up from her stomach, Nesrin feared to even ask. "Was?"

"My father killed her,"

"And you are responsible for killing my brother." She reminded him.

Feeling her pain now, remembering the pain he had felt when his baby sister had been murdered by their father, simply because she was scared and was crying. "I am sorry I am incapable of feeling emotions. But I do know what regret and self-degradation feels like. And I feel it every day I am alive… Aside from when I had Aurora with me, and you… You look like what I'd imagine Estrella would look like today. Same eyes, same blonde hair." He said softly. "But I will take Aurora if I have to, hid forever if I have to. But I cannot do that if I do not stop Sean from killing her. So, are you going to help me, or are you going to try to be the death of us?" he asked her.

Swallowing what saliva was in her mouth, Nesrin breathed in a deep breath as she thought about what he said. Did she want to try to help him save Aurora? Or allow a different psychopath to kill her. Biting her bottom lip, Nesrin stepped up onto the platform, "I won't let you have her," she told him as the light engulfed them.

"I never expected you to let me have her, little-star,"

Light engulfed them as he grinned his last grin to the blonde staring at him, in a blink of everyone's eyes as they entered the Time-Machin's room they were gone. And the last sound Bane heard from his home, his time, was his father's angry scream.

December 1975

Weeks came as if nothing had changed, but Kathrine had still refused to believe James and Sirius about Heather, she even refused to believe Aurelia. But this particular night Kathrine had snuck out from the Christmas party the 28 noble Witch and Wizarding families had all gathered to celebrate Yule and that of the mortal Christmas spirits.

She'd gotten a message from Heather, asking her to come out the back to meet her, that she wanted to talk and explain everything. Kathrine had wanted to believe the girl's innocent so much she had excused herself with a lie to her friends and family. The message had said they didn't have to hide anymore, that they had a place they could go, to be together, away from their family's judgment and disdain. But the sight she saw this night had Kathrine in a panic. Several cloaked figures with silver masks waited for her outside. A few unmasked visitors in party clothes as well, Bellatrix was present, as well as her husband, Lestrange, and his brother. "H-Heather? What's the meaning of this?" she asked, the chilled December night weather chilled goosebumps over her flesh, the strapped sleeves of her silver gown, and the heart neckline of her dress that dipped just a little to give a mature form to her youthful figure, the inset corset of her gown smoothed and defined her curves more and her hair had been let loose with a silver snowflake on the left side of her head.

"I will explain everything later, but we must leave, now. Hurry." Heather said to her with a big fake smile. A smile that normally would have reached her eyes, but hadn't.

Sadly, Kathrine saw the false emotion behind it all. Heather hadn't been happy to see her out here at all. Feeling Heather's warm hands grab hold of her wrists harshly and begin to pull her towards the death eaters, Kathrine felt a bubble of fear rise inside of her and attempted to ease herself away from the girl, her best friend, her lover, her first love. "You're lying to me… I can see it… What… Heather, what had you done?" Kathrine asked the blonde, her bright green eyes misting with tears as she watched the amber-brown eyes of Heather McMartin darken with anger towards her.

Letting out a slow and angry-filled sigh, Heather released Kathrine's wrists and backed away from the girl, "You are foolishly stupid, you know that."

The back doors to the Manor open, and a soft voice called out towards them with concern and confusion, "Kathrine? There you are what are earth are you-"

Her ears were deaf to everything as she heard Margaret walk out towards her, glancing towards the gathering of dark Witches and Wizards. Her peach dress of silk blew with the hard December wind, her long hair blowing with the night air's chill as she stopped in fright and stared at the group with panic and fear. The flash of green that went past Kathrine's head and struck the girl dead had Kathrine's heart stopping in a beat as the girl dropped to the cold snow that she hadn't even realized she was the one screaming.

*** Note: I realize this is not exactly an end, okay, no it is not an ending. However, the detail of this night shall be released in the next part of this adventure, "When It's All Over". Thank you for reading my insanity and putting up with me :) you're all amazing! Have a wonderful summer!

*** Thanks for reading! I know a lot of people are probably confused, but I decided to do something really crazy with this life of thrice idea. I have planted a few breadcrumbs for the Marauder's fox 1 and 2 stories in the previous fiction work leading to this story. So, in order, it is now From the Beginning, The Marauder's Fox 1 and 2, One Way, and the last one will be called "When it's All Over". So, keep your eyes open for it :) and wish me luck.
