Chapter 6

7:45 AM

It was officially day two for the mascots.

The night guard left before everyone else arrived. Currently, the mascots were alone, but not for long.

Freddy got up, yawning as he did. He rubbed his eyes and looked around.

"Morning?" He whispered.

"Hey guys, wake up," Freddy said as he gently shook Bonnie's shoulder. He then tapped on Chica's arm.

Bonnie got up eventually, as well as Chica.

"Is anyone here yet?" Chica asked.

"I don't think so," Freddy answered.

They all got up and stretched. Freddy walked off stage and looked through a window. Then, he saw a car.

To get a closer look at who was driving, Freddy squinted his eyes.

He then saw Amelia's brunette hair and work outfit.

"Amelia's here!" Freddy announced. "Get ready!"

"Alright!" Bonnie said.

Shortly after Freddy rushed back to the stage, Foxy slowly rose.

Because he spent his night exploring, he was deprived of his sleep, making him very tired. His eyes were half open, and his back was in a slumped position.

"Foxy? Are you alright?" Bonnie said, approaching him. Freddy and Chica looked back as he did.

"I don't think...I got enough sleep," Foxy admitted.

"Well, that's kind of irresponsible if you ask me," Bonnie bluntly said.

"I know."

"Well, try to get a few more hours of sleep. People usually show up later," Chica advised.

"Great idea," Foxy said sluggishly as he went back into his cove.

Eventually, Amelia opened the door.

"Hey everyone! How was your first day?" Amelia asked.

"Great!" Freddy answered.

"Well, except for Foxy," Bonnie added.

"What? Why?"

"He said he didn't get enough sleep," Chica answered.

"That's unfortunate. Well, at least you all are ready for the day," Amelia said.

She looked at her watch, and looked back up at the mascots.

"This place is gonna open in a few minutes. Everyone else should show up right now."

"Alright," Freddy said.

Amelia walked away and went outside of the building to go wait for Jim and David to arrive.

"Oh man, yesterday was so fun!" Bonnie told Freddy.

"Yeah...it was," Freddy replied.

"One of the little girls told me that my feathers were pretty," Chica said, looking at her feathered arms. Her feathers were bright yellow, almost golden.

"Aww."

"Y'know," Freddy started, "I love being here so much that...well...it feels familiar to me..."

"Really?" Bonnie asked.

"...Yeah..."

"Hmm."

"Maybe we were the only ones meant for this job," Chica hypothesized.

"You're right," Bonnie agreed.

"Let's keep it that way," Freddy smiled. "Show the world how great we can be."

Eventually, the rest of the staff members arrived. As the eight hour of the morning came, everything was ready for the second day.

Amelia then walked back inside the building with Jim and David. They barely left their cars in the parking lot. Right behind them were two waitresses who got there earlier than the rest of the employees.

"Good morning, everyone!" Freddy announced with a great smile.

Only one of the waitresses responded, waving as they smiled. Jim and David, however, didn't really acknowledge Freddy.

Freddy's hand dropped and his smile faded slightly.

Chica noticed Freddy's disappointment, so she tried to aid him as well as she could.

"Don't worry about it, Freddy. Remember, we're something completely out of this world for them," she reminded.

"Yeah, you're right," Freddy sighed.

"They'll all like us someday," Bonnie added.

Hopefully, he thought to himself.

Just like the previous day, it was very quiet. The amount of customers increased as time went on. More people got to see the live mascots for their first time.

Now, it was 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica supported the show for the first few hours as Foxy slept in. After introducing themselves once more, they all decided to talk about several things. For instance, they would tell jokes, ask questions, and talk about their favorite things.

"Well," Bonnie said, "I think that's all we can say about ourselves."

"Do any of you kids wanna ask us anything while we're here?" Freddy asked, pointing his microphone into the crowd. He gave a great smile as he did.

Many kids raised their hands as if they were at school.

"Hmm, so many questions to choose from," Chica remarked. "I say we take turns choosing."

"I'll go first!" Bonnie said.

Bonnie looked into the crowd and pointed.

"You with the green shirt!" He said.

The kid stood up.

"Where did you get your guitar?"

Bonnie looked back at the red, V-shaped guitar.

"Actually, I don't know. It was already there. Who knows? Maybe it was bought at the dollar store."

Freddy turned his head towards Bonnie after he heard his bizarre statement.

"A dollar store???" Freddy asked.

Some of the kids laughed.

"Bonnie, guitars aren't sold at dollar stores," Chica explained, chuckling.

"Whaaat? Aren't guitars like five dollars or something?"

Freddy then smiled, realizing he was joking.

"Now you're just being silly," Chica commented.

"Alright, I'm next!" Freddy announced. "You with the striped shirt!"

The child stood up. He was a little older than the previous kid, but still young.

"Can I give you some math questions?" The boy asked.

Although he was a little confused, Freddy gave in.

"Math problems? Alright, give me your best."

"Um, it's like a math problem, but...let me show you," the child explained. "Think of any number and don't tell me."

Freddy thought of the number 7.

"Okay..." He smiled.

"Now multiply by three..."

21.

"This is getting interesting," Freddy murmured into the mic. Some kids in the crowd could be heard giggling

"...Add six..."

27.

Freddy nodded.

"...Divide it by 3.."

9.

"Here's the last step," the boy indicated. "Subtract your current number with the number the number you thought of."

My number is nine so far...so what was my first number again...it was seven, wasn't it? Yeah...subtract that...that's two.

"Alright! I got it," Freddy said.

"Your answer is two!" The boy announced.

Freddy was amazed. Even though the math trick wasn't very complicated, he had no knowledge on it.

"Freddy, what was your number???" Bonnie asked.

"T-Two...my answer was two!"

"Woah!" Chica exclaimed.

The boy's face grew a smile. He realized that his trick his older sibling told him about actually worked.

"How did you do that?" Freddy asked, leaning in.

"I can't tell you," the boy replied, smiling.

"Awww, why not?"

"Cause that'll ruin the trick!" The boy answered, grinning.

"Oh alright," Freddy said. "You got me."

"Now I get to choose!" Chica exclaimed.

A few hours back, Foxy laid back on some boxes with various items, such as fabric, clothes, and accessories. Although it wasn't the most comfortable spot to sleep, it didn't matter to him. His eyes dropped almost immediately. The voices of his friends got quieter, and quieter, and quieter.

They soon disappeared, along with the time ahead of him.

Inside Foxy's head was just a void. Nothing was in this so called void. Was it a dream? No, dreams must include something.

That soon happened.

In his thoughts, Foxy saw himself. The void soon turned into a dark environment, still filled with nothing. He could feel himself walking and looking around. It was like he was in another world.

"Hello?" He called out in his imagination.

Soon, a white light emerged from the darkness.

"Hello, Foxy," it said, glowing as it spoke. The voice was soft, similar to a child's.

"H-How did you know my name?"

"I know many things," the voice continued. "I know everything about you and your friends."

"Who are you?"

"I cannot reveal myself yet, child. I can assure you that the time will come someday."

Foxy looked down at himself, patting his chest with his own hands.

"Child?" He questioned.

"Oh, you still have little knowledge on everything."

"What is the meaning of this conversation...?"

"I will only tell you two things, Foxy."

Foxy made sure to listen closely to the unusual, talking light.

"Do not think that your existence is pointless, for that is wrong. You and your friends do have a specific reason to why you were created."

Foxy was silent.

"You will have more of these so called dreams in the future. They will not happen everyday, but when they do, pay attention."

He nodded slowly.

"The more you dream, the more knowledge I will give."

Suddenly, sounds of a crowd clapping could be heard. Light from another side could also be seen. Both the light and the sounds were increasing.

"Go," the voice concluded. "Everyone's waiting for you..."

Foxy suddenly awoke, gasping as he did. As he jumped from his resting spot, one of the boxes he was resting on fell on the wooden floor. It made a loud thump as it did. Standing inside his cove, he took some quick breaths.

He looked down at the floor, noticing that he was no longer dreaming.

Outside of the cove, Freddy and his friends all stopped to look at the purple curtains.

Wiping off some sweat on his forehead, Foxy looked at the small crack in between the curtains. Squinting his eyes, he could see the dining room filled with kids and their parents.

"Well," Freddy's voice spoke, "I believe that's Foxy!"

Foxy blinked. He remembered he slept in for a few more hours. What time was it? How long did he sleep?

"Come on out, sleepy head!" Bonnie joked. "Everyone's waiting for you!"

Everyone is waiting for you. Who was that voice? How much does it know?

Foxy shook his head, changed his face, and stepped out as he pushed a curtain aside.

"Ahoy, everyone!"

9:00 PM

Hours passed. The restraunt closed, as usual. Everyone was tired. Staff members started to leave to prepare for the next day.

"Phew!" Bonnie exclaimed. "It's fun doing what we do, but I never knew it was so...exhausting!"

"Tell me about it," Chica remarked.

"Yeah, I'm tired too," sighed Freddy.

Foxy was sitting on a chair placed at the edge of one of the long tables. Elbows resting on the top, he couldn't stop thinking about his dream.

Who spoke to him? Was it the same voice he heard last night?

"Hey."

Foxy's ears perked up. He turned towards the stage and saw Bonnie looking at him.

"You were awake during the night, weren't you?" He asked.

Foxy's eyes looked down.

"Yeah..."

"What were you doing?"

"...Exploring."

"Exploring what?"

Should he tell Bonnie about his dream?

No. Not yet. There could be more information given to him in the future.

"Y'know, you're acting kind of strange lately, Foxy," Bonnie spoke.

"Enough, Bonnie," Freddy demanded. "Let's just forget about it and get our sleep this time."

Bonnie looked back.

"Yeah."

Foxy looked back at his hands.

Gray hands. Compared to his red fur all over him, his hands and feet were just gray.

He moved his fingers, studying them. Then, he disregarded his hands and took off his eyepatch.

Foxy then placed his hand on his left eye and tried to inspect the environment with his right eye.

His vision was blurry. Everything looked as if he was trying to look through a window during a foggy morning. Squinting his eye did nothing. He could not identify one object.

He lowered his hand and sighed.

"I'm not going to wear glasses," he mumbled. He put his eyepatch back on.

Amelia walked up to the mascots with a smile on her face.

"Hi everyone!" She greeted. "How was it today?"

"Great!" Chica answered.

"Tiring," Bonnie replied.

"Yep, that's how it's gonna be around here sometimes," Amelia described. "Well, I gotta go back to my apartment a little earlier than usual."

She turned, still facing the mascots, and raised her hand.

"Bye! See you again tomorrow!"

"Bye, Amelia!" Freddy waved.

"Bye!" Everyone else said.

Foxy got up and pushed his chair back in the table. Hands in his pockets, he walked back to the Pirate's Cove.

Freddy saw Foxy as he walked. He got up and quickly caught up to him.

"Foxy," he called quietly.

Foxy looked back as Fredy placed his hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry about...Bonnie's behavior. Just try to get enough rest. He likes everything to be perfect."

"Got it," Foxy replied.

Freddy let go and started walking back.

"Good night."

"You too."

Driving on the highway at night was always interesting for Amelia. Seeing cars as they pass by with their bright headlights was something she always notice.

Those headlights, along with street lights and glowing buildings, illuminated the night sky.

Of course, she always had to pay attention to the road. Amelia had been driving for almost five years now, but she knows that driving without knowing what's ahead of her is no joke.

Amelia parked her car on the driveway of her house. She shut off the vehicle, closed the door, and locked it. She opened her apartment door and closed it, locking it.

Amelia placed her purse down on the couch and opened it. She pulled out her phone, which had some notifications from her aunt.

"Guess I'd better call her," she said to herself.

She pressed on her aunt's contact and pressed the phone button. The phone rang three times before someone picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Amelia dear! How was your day at that pizza place?"

"It was great, Aunt Holly. Did you call me earlier?"

"Oh yes I did! I was wondering if you could watch your cousins for me because I am going to be very busy tomorrow. I don't want them to be all lonely in my house all day, you know."

Amelia thought about her schedule, and about her mascot friends.

"...Yeah. I can do that!"

"Thank you, dear. No one was able to take care of them, so that helps out a lot. I'll drop of the kids at six, alright?"

"Okay."

"Good night, Amelia!"

"Good night, Aunt Holly!"

She put down her phone and she sighed. She felt slightly nervous about letting her two younger cousins finding out about Freddy and his friends.

Everyone will find out soon though, right?

Even though it was only day two for them, they will get media attention soon. They might even end up on the news.

They'll find out anyway, so I might as well take them over there at twelve, Amelia thought.

I'm going to have to ask for the first half of the day off, though...

Amelia kept having thoughts as she walked into the restroom. After brushing her teeth, she took off her work outfit and wore some sleeping clothes. Afterwards, she hopped on her bed.

She soon fell asleep.

12:00 AM

Everyone left the restraunt before eleven. The night guard returned for his second day; he was still uneasy, but not as much as before.

Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy were sleeping on the stage once again. However, Foxy was still awake.

He was sitting inside his cove thinking about what happened today.

Why did I get that dream? Is anyone else going to get a dream similar to mine? What information did that voice want to tell me?

Why me?

He did not know.

Now, he was just staring into the floor. All he could do was wonder.

Then, Foxy heard a door open and close.

He's here, he thought.

The night guard was back.

He was thinking about greeting him again later in the night, but he decided not to. Bonnie won't like the fact that he was up too late.

Besides, I don't need to bother him anymore, he concluded.

Foxy laid back on the boxes and closed his eyes.

He tried clearing his mind, breathing quieter, and calming down to fall asleep faster.

His eyes opened.

Something was bothering him.

What was it?

It was about the night guard...

Foxy soon knew.

He sat up. Foxy decided to wait at least fifteen minutes before talking to the night guard again.

Thirty minutes passed.

Foxy peeked out of his cove, trying to get a closer view of the stage.

Everyone's asleep.

Then, he looked at one of the walls of the building that had a clock hanging.

12:30???

Time flew away for no reason. Foxy just let go of that and sighed.

He quietly stepped out and walked into the hallway.

"I shouldn't be doing this," he spoke under his breath.

Foxy walked up to the office window. He noticed that both of the doors were open. Then, he looked inside, seeing the night guard.

The night guard soon saw Foxy and shook in surprise.

"Jeez, you scared me!"

"Sorry," Foxy said. "I just wanted to ask one thing before I go back."

"What's that?"

"What's your name? I forgot to ask you yesterday."

The night guard looked around before answering.

"Paul. I'm Paul."

Foxy just stood there, thinking about his answer.

He turned around and started to walk away.

"Good night, Paul."

Paul looked out of the doorway.

"Y-You too...?" He replied nervously.

Foxy smiled as he continued back to his cove.

As he stepped back inside, he laid back on the same pile of boxes he slept on previously. For some odd reason, those boxes were uncomfortable, yet tolerable.

Foxy just stared at the roof on top of him. It was the only thing he looked at before he closed his eyes.

He quickly fell asleep.

From the corner of the building, the black entity inspected the mascots. Its head turned both ways before turning towards the corner.

"Good night, everyone," it said before dissolving into thin air.
