Chapter 10
Saturday, July 4
It was the final day of the Fazbear crew's stay at their current restaurant. After several discussions, William planned the trip for the mascots and staff members. The temporary location is 250 miles away, which meant that the road trip will take several hours. However, the trip should be complete before the day ends.
Amelia organized a celebration for the entire restaurant. It was the Fourth of July, the day of independence for the United States. Even though she usually isn't excited for Independence Day, Amelia wanted to make the day special for her mascot friends.
Fireworks, outdoor activities, and food. She could imagine it all now.
"Amelia?"
She was staring out in the distance as she stood next to some decorations with the colors of the U.S. flag. She snapped out of her dream and turned to see Foxy calling her.
"Yes, Foxy?"
"I appreciate all of this...party stuff...but did you mention going outside?"
"Um...yeah. Why?"
Foxy remembered the day he blocked Jim from leaving the restaurant. The sun was in the middle of rising, but it was enough for him to feel everything.
Foxy remembered feeling the sunlight strike his back, as if it directly attacked him. When he had looked back, he remembered seeing some strands of his own fur burn in the sunlight. They were reduced to dust that later scattered on the floor.
It terrified him. Foxy theorized that he was the only one who knew about the sunlight dilemma. His only question was why. Why is the sunlight causing harm towards him? Would it have the same effect on his friends?
"Amelia, I have something to tell you."
"I see..."
Amelia could not believe what Foxy had told her.
"But...if the sunlight hurts you, how are you and your friends going to leave this place?"
"I don't know," Foxy replied.
In his own thoughts, Foxy pleaded the mysterious form in his dreams to help him with dealing with the sunlight.
There has to be something to counter this effect...
"It might be risky, but maybe you all will be safe to come out during the night," Amelia suggested.
"You're right," Foxy replied. "During the night, I feel so much more active for some reason."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah. It's weird, but I can just fall asleep whenever I want to."
"Okay," Amelia said as she stood up,"tell everyone about the sunlight. Stay inside for now. I'll call everyone when it's time for the outdoor events."
"Alright."
Foxy stood up and smiled.
"Thank you."
He started walking back to his friends.
Amelia looked at him as he got farther away. She could only ponder about them.
It's strange, she thought. They are so pure, so nice to people that they don't even know. I sense no danger in them...
They're perfect.
"Heard y'all had an interesting day yesterday," a familiar voice remarked.
Amelia jumped and looked back. It was Jim and David.
"Ah, you scared me! Where were you two yesterday?"
"Uhh, about that," David started, "we were busy at a meeting about moving to the new location. Mr. Afton really supports this idea, doesn't he?"
"He does," Jim replied.
"What did he mention to you two?" Amelia asked.
"Nothing new. We just have to move a bunch of things to trailers and all that."
"We plan to leave in the morning. The building will be left alone until further notice."
"I see."
"Sunlight? But...why?"
"Who knows."
Foxy finished his explanation about sunlight harming his body.
"Be careful. Don't expose your bodies to the sun no matter what. Unless we find something to block that effect, we should avoid standing near windows and glass doors," the fox informed.
Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica looked up to the entrance. It was bright, just like every other day.
It was currently 2 PM. The mascots already finished their final show on stage. All that was left for them were the outdoor activities.
"So...what about going outside?" Bonnie asked.
"I heard Amelia had something secret for all of us to see," Freddy added.
"Yeah," Chica said.
"We will only step out when the moon shows," Foxy planned. "I hope this effect only happens during the day. If something went wrong during the later hours, then it will be hard for us to have any interaction outside these walls."
Foxy had his thoughts set on his dreams. He had to sleep tonight. He just had to. A dream can be really useful.
"Well, let's not worry about the sun. Today is a day to have fun, is it not?" Freddy asked.
"Right!" Chica cheered.
Foxy smiled. "Yeah."
"I have an idea," Bonnie began. "Let's all greet the kids here!"
"Sounds fun!" Chica and Freddy said together.
Soon, the four got up from their stools and spread out in the dining area. They all went around to meet their young audience.
Map Layout
The remodeling of the restaurant planned to expand the size of the building by adding more rooms, exhibits, and essentials that would help the business grow.
The original restaurant is rectangular shaped. The two glass windows at the front of the building are located on the wall's left. There is nothing else on the front wall. On the left vertical wall, there are two windows that face away from the sunrise and sunset. The Pirate's Cove is located on that wall, distant from the tables in the middle of the building. It sits next to the two windows. The right vertical wall has two sets of restrooms, as well as a kitchen, and a storage room. On the wall parallel to the front wall, otherwise known as the back wall, the stage is placed in the center. There are two exits placed on both sides of the main stage. On the left of the stage behind red curtains, there is a storage room specifically made for the animatronic mascots. The room also keeps miscellaneous items used for special events, like birthday parties. The room also gives access to the restraunt's electrical panel, but it requires a key that is only given to technicians and higher ranked staff members. In the middle of the restaurant, twelve long tables are placed. Each table has eight chairs, which allows up to 96 customers at a time. Behind the dining area, there are two hallways that lead to the night guard's office. The office has a desk, chair, two monitors, a computer, a fan, posters, and two large doors that close by pressing a button. Two large, bulletproof windows are placed next to the metal doors.
The floor is checkered with white and black squares. The walls have a beige color and a stripe design on the lower part. The stripe has the same checkered pattern as the floor that is accompanied by thin red stripes placed on the outer pattern.
The redesign plans to multiply the size of the building by two. On both sides of the buildings facing east and west, two areas will be built. On the east side, there will be an arcade area, as well as a prize corner. A small, decorative carousel is placed in the middle of the arcade area.
On the west side, another dining area is added for customers who want to eat in a quieter place. It also gives access to the restrooms and the kitchen.
In the main dining area, more space is added. There will be more tables, more surface area added to the stages, and TVs planted on one of the walls.
The CEO of Fazbear Entertainment, William Afton, plans to earn a profit by depending on his very special mascots. By earning fame, recognition, and money, Afton hopes to make his company grow to a point it has never reached before.
Maybe this will make everyone forget about his legal issues.
9:00 PM
"Guys! Come outside!" Amelia announced as she opened the left exit.
Freddy and the rest, still at the same spot as they were hours earlier, turned to look at the exit. Foxy got up quickly and stopped before the doorway.
Amelia then erased her smile and grew concerned.
What if they still can't go outside? She thought to herself
Foxy peeked out of the doorway. The green grass and the slight breeze persuaded him to experience the night.
He took a deep breath, closing his eyes. His friends eyed him, looking rather scared about what could happen.
Foxy opened his eyes and exhaled. He took the first step.
Amelia moved out of the way to allow the red fox to march out of the building. Foxy closed his eyes shut as he felt the grass touch his feet. He came to a stop.
Aside from everyone still in the building, everyone went silent.
Foxy opened his eyes.
The wind tickled his body in a friendly way. The moonlight reflected off the edges of his red fur. His feet could feel the soft grass that had the resemblance of a thick, cozy carpet.
He raised his arm to his face, turning his hands as he did. He looked below at the grass dancing with the breeze.
He looked ahead to look at the distant hills. He looked up at the stars.
Foxy's eyes were filled with wonder. He looked at himself once more. Touching his chest, he knew he was alright.
Foxy's face lit up with a smile. He knew he absolutely loved being with nature.
He turned around to face his friends.
"Come on!"
Foxy laughed joyously as he joyously sprinted out in the grassy field. Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica's faces lit up as soon as they knew it was safe.
Amelia wiped a sweat drop off of her forehead as the three mascots left the building.
"Oh, it's magical!" Freddy exclaimed.
"You got that right, captain," Foxy chuckled.
"Kinda cold, isn't it?" Chica asked, holding her arms. She enjoyed being outside, but as a bird, she was more sensitive to the temperature.
"Is it really?" Bonnie replied. "I didn't even notice..."
Now that Foxy knew what it was like to be away from a building, he remembered what those kids told him about exploring.
This is my first part of the journey, huh, he thought to himself. I gladly accept it.
I will explore this world no matter what!
Bonnie jumped up high in the air and landed back on the soft grass.
"Woah! Hey guys, look what I can do!"
He jumped again, but higher than the last.
"Wow!" Freddy exclaimed.
"After all, I am a rabbit," Bonnie said. "Maybe it's obvious that I can jump high."
"Hmm...what about me?" Chica asked herself.
She looked up to Freddy, who was observing the trees sitting in front of a hilly area.
"Hey Freddy?"
"Hmm?"
"Can you lift me up on your shoulders?"
Freddy was skeptical.
"Huh???"
"I...want to try something real quick."
"What sort of something?" Freddy asked.
"You'll see."
Freddy was worried, but he still agreed to whatever Chica was thinking.
Soon, Freddy lifted the bird onto his shoulders. He was strong, but it was still difficult to balance Chica on top of him.
"Are you...sure you want to do this, Chica?"
"Yes, Freddy! Ready?"
Freddy was still a little confused.
"Let go!"
Freddy released his grip on Chicas feet. She leaped off of his shoulders and extended her wings. Freddy, Bonnie, and Foxy all watched as her bright, yellow feathers spread out. Then, her wings started to flap back and forth. This made Chica slowly glide down to ground with grace. Her control was on point. Within seconds of takeoff, she landed safely on the ground.
"That was amazing, Chica!" Bonnie said as he approached her.
"Hehe, thank you!"
Chica only wanted to test her wings. She blushed from hearing an impressed Bonnie.
"Chica, I had no idea you had that amount of skill!" Foxy added.
"Me either," she chuckled.
As the three continued talking, Freddy went on ahead. He noticed a bright light shining in the distance, but it wasn't the moon. His blue eyes lit up upon viewing the horizon.
"You guys...look!"
"What is it Freddy?"
Soon, all three were silent.
From a distance, several bright buildings could be seen. The city lights illuminated the entire region in the darkness of the night.
"What is that place...?" Bonnie asked.
"No clue," Freddy replied.
They were all in awe. They'd never seen anything like it.
"Do you think we could...go there?" Foxy asked.
"No way!" Bonnie denied. "We can't just go out in public..."
"You're right. Stupid question," Foxy muttered.
"Though...I wish we could," Bonnie continued. "It looks exciting over there."
"How many people are there over there?" Freddy wondered.
"Who knows?" Chica said. "A hundred?"
"No, a thousand!"
"Ten thousand!
"Twenty thousand at most..."
"A million!!!"
"Too much."
Then, the mascots all laughed.
Amelia walked up to the mascots. They all heard the young employee walking up to them.
"You guys are like children," She laughed. "Come on, the party's over here."
And soon, they all approached the outdoor party. Most of the kids that were inside started walking to the field. They were surprised to see the mascots standing outside of the building.
They all waved to the children, inviting them to join the party.
There were activities, food, and fireworks. Just like Amelia described. Not only that, everyone got to meet each mascot up close and personal. Hands were shaken, conversations were made, stories were told, and memories were made.
Towards the end of the party, everyone gathered to view the fireworks. Once they were lit, several of the rockets shot up into the sky and exploded with vivid colors. There were red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, and white explosions that all sparkled in the sky. It was an amazing sight to see.
The mascots loved the party.
Once it was over, they all prepared to sleep for the moving day.
"I'm gonna miss this place," Bonnie said, touching the walls.
"We will come back," Freddy assured, "and this place will be bigger and better!"
"Yes, but...don't you like the simplicity of this place?"
Freddy thought about the rabbit's question long and hard.
"I do. But, it's also good to try new things, isn't it?"
"I guess you're right. I can't wait!"
"Wait!" Chica interrupted. How are we going to get there safely? We could get hurt from the sunlight!"
"Amelia told me that we had two options," Foxy began. "We could either all wear cloaks to block the sunlight from our bodies, or we could choose to ride in a trailer with no windows."
"What's the trailer like?" Bonnie asked.
"I don't know."
"You don't know??? What if it's just a big metal box with dust on the floor???"
"I don't think the trailer would be very comfortable," Chica said.
"If we were to wear cloaks, we would have to be very cautious. We would have make sure EVERY part of our bodies are covered at all times."
"It sounds difficult to keep a cloak on. It's also the middle of the summer, so it's going to be a hot day tomorrow."
"We could ask to turn on the air conditioner in the vehicle we're riding in," Freddy suggested.
Foxy looked up at the clock.
"It's nearly one o'clock. Let's get some shut eye. We have to wake up early tomorrow."
"Yeah, guys let's all sleep now," Freddy repeated.
Thirty minutes passed. Foxy dozed off a few minutes after suggesting to sleep.
His mind was clear. He had nothing going on in his head.
Yet.
Before he knew it, Foxy slipped into another dream. He was back in the black void once more.
"You again?"
"Yes. Me again..."
The white orb appeared out of thin air.
"I hear you and your friends will be staying at another location."
"That's right," Foxy confirmed.
"Foxy, now's the time I tell you something about yourself."
His eyes widened upon hearing those words.
"I'm listening..."
"Like I've said before, each and every one of you have a purpose. However, you, Foxy. You are the most significant one that I chose."
"...What?"
"It is not favoritism, and it is not my choice. It is simply based off of observation."
"Foxy..."
It was silent for a moment. Foxy waited for the orb to reveal a great secret to him.
"I...created your physical forms."
"You...created us...?"
"Only your bodies. Let me tell you another thing: your souls later manifested the bodies I created. Your own soul determines your mind: your thought process, your logic, your emotion, and your desires."
"Even I am a soul. I just do not manifest a physical body. I can enter reality as a ghost, however. If I were to manifest a body, it would have to resemble me in any way possible. I cannot create my own body, but I can create other bodies based on other souls."
Foxy was amazed, but at the same time, a little overwhelmed.
"I...I don't know what to say."
"I bet it is a lot to take in."
It was silent again before Foxy broke it with a question.
"What...what do I call you?"
"Hmm..."
"Call me..."
"Charlie."
