Report: Soren El Sawada

The Mountain Farms...

Farming terraces were carved into the mountains.

The terraces wasn't visible to the empire as they hid the farms where it won't be seen...behind the mountains away from sight.

Soren created a large cottage with her sheer will alone. As did everything necessary for a cozy home. As for bedding? Well, animal-type demihumans don't sleep on beds, they feel far more comfortable in hay!

As for food?

The demihumans control a large farm of ma-nuga. The largest, and also hidden farm in the world. Soren has never seen so many ma-nuga in her whole life in this hidden valley.

'S-so much?!' Soren's jaws dropped as demihumans no matter what race, are managing all the bovines.

'This is Italica's hidden food reserve.' said the dwarf. 'Incase stuff happens, nobody's gonna starve.' he said with a grin.

'I see...well, I guess if shit happens, Italica's very OK. I guess I should create a hidden farm here for Rondel too.' Soren mused thoughtfully. 'War is inevitable anyway.'

That statement got them worried.

'Inevitable? What makes you say that?' the draconian asked her as this got them anxious and worried.

'The moronic empire,' Soren drawled with an armfold. 'Opened a Gate to MY home world. Japan.' six jaws dropped. 'My homeland is extremely advanced. Medicine, agriculture, food-processing and preservation, architecture, travel and most of all, warfare. How I found out? I was traveling around for undiscovered species of medicine and the local Fairy Elves taught me their know-how in their forest near Alnus Hill...and I saw a military camp from afar. In the huge cages, are adults of my countrymen. I freed them all as they can go home, unlike me. I don't know how much time passed by since I got marooned here and time in different worlds flows differently. A gate opened in my town without warning and suddenly closed...are my family alive or dead, I wouldn't know...so I gave up on going back.' she said in a defeatist manner. 'At least those adults have a home and family to go back to while the Gate is still open, that time on the other side is the same.'

'H-how scary is Japan?' the bunny asked her with a gulp.

'We're polite and mild-mannered as well as hospitable unless provoked...and we can kill you from afar. We don't use swords.' Soren said with a rueful smile, conjuring illusions of people using firearms and tanks, and airplane bombers enough to wipe out a city in minutes against each other and the sight horrified her assigned servants. 'The military will come here and charge the Empire for their kidnap and murder of our citizens. They will investigate who instigated the attack in Ginza District of Tokyo City so everyone else will be left alone, so House Formal has nothing to worry about as long as they don't impede investigation efforts.'

That got the demihumans relieved.

'For now, Japan will conquer to control the Gate, set up a base, before exploring this world before they can investigate who attacked them. Its best to save up goods for the city before the storm does come. About...three months to prepare for a household to store food that lasts a long time. I couldn't talk earlier, there were Empire Soldier bodyguards around.'

'I'll inform Head Maid on the sly so Princess won't hear a thing.' the draconian offered. 'This way House Formal in the city can prepare.'

'We're counting on you Wiekor!' the leonoid called out as Wiekor flew away at high speed.

After dinnertime, Wiekor spoke from afar, confident he'll be overheard by Delilah and Mamina as the windows of their manor are always open because the Beastmen are on Night Shift for security while human maids do day shift. That, and Aurea, a young medusa can pick up his thoughts.

He informed them about what Soren told them and to pass it to their lady when Princess Pina is out of earshot as Soren was no fan of the empire. War will be inevitable so its best to prepare while things are calm, so when shit happens, Italica can close up their walls calmly as they have a good stock of needed goods while waiting the storm to pass by.

That night...

Head Maid Kaine and little Myui looked deeply troubled indeed, through the horrifying near-future Soren told them through Wiekor. Who ELSE knows that Soren is an otherworlder?!

Three months later...the farms...

'Whoa! A large gray monster that made an 'eeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg' sound went by!'

'Is that the air-o-pleyn Mistress Soren spoke of, a flying machine?!'

'It's so loud my ears hurt dammit!'

For now, the medicinal herb farms are still small, but growing well. Because the progress was sped up with Soren's magic, increasing life energy just so they'd grow at three times the speed.

'Phew, the plants are growing well...before winter they should be good for use.' she smiled in satisfaction.

Life in the farms is very quaint! Its a very simple Slow Life!

A colorful homey hidden farm village. Colorful errr people. Everyone here's friendly and nice! Basically, a perfect world where everyone gets along as long as nobody starts trouble.

Until...ruts happen.

'...what in tarnation...?' Soren sweatdropped as the beastmen are having sex all over the place when they went out to work at the farms and saw so many pairs going at it no matter the place, not even caring if children are nearby. And she cannot say a word to refute them because this is in their culture and animal instinct. 'Talas, Cabal, Findrei and Gilra didn't come home last night because of this?' Talas the bunny, Cabal the werecat, Findrei the Volralden and Gilra the leonoid cheetah did not come home last night after leaving after dinner.

She was not embarrassed one bit as she grew up in a world where sex and being raped are common occurrences and she wasn't taught the Earth Way, and grew up in this world's culture. Rather, she sees the sight before her as utterly baffling if only because her neighbors lost control with themselves.

'Get used to this.' Wiekor told her dryly. 'Dwarves, Medusae and Draconians don't deal with ruts. Its like having a live show around here.' he said with a shrug.

'But what about the maids in the city...?' Soren croaked out. 'There's nobody to pair up with there!'

'Well, they take on other identities and ahem, offer to give men a good time going by as prostitutes to get by.' said Birika. 'Its all cool. They pray to the fertility goddess Miritta beforehand to be on the safe side.'

'Haaa, and how long is this gonna last...?'

'Two weeks, so the rest of us are gonna be overworked and overtiming for a bit.'

'Uggghhh...'

A week after that...

For the 3rd Recon Team, life took an interesting turn, when they found a 'King Ghidora' terrorizing a nearby forest...only to learn the part burned was in fact, an elf village.

They talked about it to the Mayor of Coda who looked horrified, people panicked and began packing to leave for safety, and they ended up being unable to leave the poor folk...they acted as a bodyguard group...and its a disaster as King Ghidora came back for more food...

It wasn't easy scaring it away and they nearly became the first-ever casualty of the JSDF.

Upon going home to Alnus, it was then that they remember that two of the Coda Survivors are mages.

Thus Kurokawa asked them about Soren, showing a picture of her and indeed, they know her.

Not far from them, Rory Mercury, a girl the JSDF is still skeptical about being a priestess who is 'much-much-MUCH older' than how she looks, was listening.

'We were the first people she talked to about the Gate leading to Japan, but she doubted its HER Japan, so she gave up on the idea with utter pessimism, and told us about Alternate Realities and Parallel Worlds theory which was why she gave up on the idea.' said Cato, speaking slowly of local dialect for immersion. The two theories he mentioned got Rory interested now. 'There's nothing for her there, while she is accomplished over here and well-respected, and has a stable livelihood. Its logical on what she'd choose, as life in your world is clearly harder for orphans with no support as the Gate basically orphaned her here years ago.'

'Accomplished? At fourteen?' Itami blurted out incredulously. At that age, most Japanese are screwing around, being teenagers in having fun, hanging out and exploring puberty after leaving the 'eww, boys have cooties' and 'girls are weird' phase. They start liking fashion, and being more adventurous with their ideas of fun such as going to places alone and such.

'Yes. She is a Master-Class Mage at only ten years old.' said Cato, making Rory whistle, impressed. 'We have a couple mage ranks. Apprentice, Graduate, Master, Expert and Archmage. Few ranks, but very, VERY hard to gain. It takes a person to graduate in five years minimum and that's me being NICE about it, but she did in only one, after spending three years learning about this world from Mimoza La Mer, my colleague who took her, Lelei and her sister in.'

'Then when she was nine, she learned the basics in one year, a feat unheard of, even by geniuses who mastered basics in three years and that's already considered prodigious, as the basics require an average of seven years to learn and master. Thus graduated at age ten and after that, pursued a magic thesis that made her a Master after ten months of graduating...when it took even me eight years to solidify my own thesis to make it presentable to the Archmagus Council for my promotion!' he said, shuddering at what's clearly, past memories.

Several jaws dropped. 'Thesis! At age ten?!' they all howled. When College students they used to be suffered immense stress even as a group working on the same thesis, yet she did it alone at age ten at just ten months after graduating?! The natives supposed Japan has thesis too that even they understand how hard that is...

'Then she left home to pursue undiscovered medicinal herbs to advance our apparently, worse-than-shit medical techniques as compared to your world, we're cavemen.' Cato chuckled ruefully. 'When in your world, you can simply buy a few pills or tonics for a minor illness and be alright in a week. It seems she will moonlight as a Researcher from now on, in pursuit of Chemistry and Pharmacy to make medicine for poisoning, minor and moderate illnesses that can be treated with medicine, while major illnesses would require surgery or amputation, stuff that makes her queasy. She only bothered being a mage, so she can fend for herself against beasts and monsters while traveling on her own.'

'We only met her again three months ago, succeeding in discovering new species, took their seeds, before heading to Italica, a known Trading and Agricultural Town to ask permission from Countess Myui Formal to rent a few plots of land to start cultivating medicinal herbs. She succeeded with the talks and has several plots of land for 10 sinku coins a year of annual rent and she can easily afford that. 10 sinku, she compared to 22,950,000 yen, your world's money.' the natives thought these Japanese people are totally horrified by the heinous rent money... 'That oughta be your next stop.'

'T-that much money for farmland rent?!' Kurata moaned ala Johnny Bravo. 'I could be living in my own house and lot with that kinda money and I still live in a cheap, cramped apartment for a single bachelor!' he shrieked in a high-pitched voice at the unfairness of it all. His words got his just-as-single teammates gloomy while the only married one in their team, Sergeant-Major Kuwahara can only sigh. Serving at the same rank for three decades got him increased pay but still...

'Thank you for updating us on where she is.' said Itami gratefully. 'After that,' he said, signaling for Tomita to give the old man a drink. 'Can you tell us about her life here since day one so we can tell her parents? Its not an alternate reality as she feared. Fifteen years went by since she wound up here in our world that time here in yours is slower than ours.' he said much to the locals' interest. 'She should be 21 years old in our world's records but here, she is chronologically and physically 14...'

'That would be for Lelei to talk about.' said Cato, after thanking Tomita for the drink. She is two years older than Soren. They grew up together with Lelei's older sister Arpeggio.'

'This is the report we got of Sawada-chan from the natives. Two of the refugees were mages with ties to Sawada-chan.' said Itami, giving the papers to Major Higaki, his superior as Tomita submitted the Dragon Attack Incident for him while the rest interviewed the refugees. 'Well, her parents should be happy she was doing well here somehow if she's rich in her own way...and we also got an understanding of Rondel City where she lived for five years before going off on her own.' another wad of paper was given.

Itami compared the mages here to that of Typemoon's version of Magi. But unlike that, Rondel Magi are very high in morals and extremely-secretive of their developments due to well-justified fears that they willingly seal away much of their work in fear of being indirect genocidal murderers should the empire exploit their knowledge for warfare gains and Lelei elaborated on that, thus Soren is frustrated that living standards is stagnated because of a war-freak country who won't hesitate. She also understands grave consequences as living standards here are stuck in ancient primitivity, infancy away to Industrial Revolution out of necessity as a result for everyone else's safety. To prevent war advancements by the top local superpower!

Actually when the thirteen captives described their captors, cue research into Ancient Greek Culture's Wartime Activities to gain an understanding by historians. Sooo yeah, Itami can understand how the magic city feels. Frustrated that they can't unleash their full potential as intellectuals and magicians. Even Researchers are also just as bummed out. Thus they have no loyalty to anyone who wasn't the twin gods who founded their city, evident by their adopted middle names. And they have to be careful with WHO they take in as students. As even little kids can be raised as spies since birth! Brrr...

'Hmmm, we'll have a look at this first.' said Major Higaki, pushing up his thick glasses on his oily nose. 'Yeah, we'd be happy to know how one of our own is doing here. Sawada-chan got lucky a good person found her. Well, those refugees are YOUR responsibility at any rate since YOU took them here, being oh-so-generous...' he drawled sarcastically with an armfold, making Itami laugh sheepishly.

Major Higaki made a softcopy of information regarding Sawada Soren's time in this world, after thoroughly reading the two reports and edited it to make it one whole report, before printing a hard copy to send to the Sawada Family.

It was a looooooong thing to work on, and he wasn't even done yet with his current paperwork, dammit, but this has to be done first. Citizens' safety is top priority!

But still, what's in this was shocking, to say the least.

The Sawadas lost a family jewel. Their eldest daughter is a beautiful genius, a child most families would kill to have and be the pride of their family. It helps that she was enhanced by divine blessings worshipping the Twin God Founders of Rondel, when Soren worshipped Elange, the god of Knowledge and yes, in this world, gods ACTUALLY exist and bless their worshippers. Lelei La Lalena spoke of mage culture and how hard it is to advance, comparable to scientists in even Modern Japan that even she, a genius took until she was thirteen to be a Master-Class Mage.

But should she go home, surely catching up on years of school she missed should be easy-peasy...

Another point of interest is money.

There are four units. Solda, Denari, Sinku and Suwani.

1 suwani should be 2295000 yen based on the rent money a frigging 14 year old is chill about shelling out...and yes they'll charge the Empire by the nose for damages they caused...to make a suwani, 5 sinku is needed.

1 sinku is 459000 yen. To make a sinku, 17 denari is needed. 1 sinku alone is like, the salary of a Lieutenant-Colonel!

And Lelei said that 1 denari lasts a person five whole days in terms of meals, but when Soren did the price comparison, it's 5400 yen a day's worth of eating out in an above-average restaurant. Salaries are in Denari for everyone in this world. Minimum salary for a native is 10 denari. Just enough for food and cheap clothes thus everyone in the family MUST work and marriage age is very young as a result: 14. 1 sinku a month is ideal salary to be able to save up for miscellaneous expenses AND annual taxes. Those who can't pay taxes are chucked to slave labor till they pay the equivalent in full! Thus 1 denari is equivalent to 27000 yen.

As for Solda, it would be about less than 1800 yen as a result...or something. Whatever.

Leave it to the Math-savvies to figure Solda out.
