Summary: Has anyone else noticed the affect Lucy has on people in general? My theory behind that.

Pairings: Makarov/Bob friendship, parental Makarov/all Fairy Tail members, implied Team Natsu friendship, implied Natsu/Lucy, and implied many other friendship feels.

YouTube Prompt: Fairy Tail couples tribute to 'The Way I Loved You' by Taylor Swift.

"You have a Celestial Mage now?"

Makarov had just finished showing off his newest, cutest (after Mirajane of course), member of his guild to his fellow guild masters. This was immediately after he had shown off the photos of his current members, Obaba always complained that the regional meetings dragged out way too long because Makarov kept acting like a proud papa bear as he shoved photos and criminal records in their faces.

What can he say? They were his children, of course he was going to brag even if he wanted to throttle most of them for the damage bills they cause.

He had just tucked Lucy's photo into his pocket with all the others when Bob approached him and asked that. Instantly, Makarov's spine stiffened. "Don't speak in that tone, Bob," Makarov said sternly, "not all Celestial Mages are like Karin."

As the guild master who took in Leo, Makarov knew everything about Karin. Loke might want to keep it all a secret and refuses to do anything to help himself from what he thinks is his rightful punishment, but Makarov was going to be there and he was going to do his damn best to help the boy.

"That's where you are wrong," Bob shook his head, "All Celestial Mages are like one another – not their behaviour!" Bob added hastily as Makarov shot him a furious glare. "I am not saying your new girl is as…."

"Nasty?" Makarov suggested, "Cold? Selfish? Abusive maybe?"

"Any of those things," Bob mumbled, "I'm not saying she is anything like that but she's a Celestial Mage, and they have the same charisma and that's what is so dangerous about them."

"The same charisma?"

"Their magic is entirely dependent on the spirits they have contracts with," Bob said flatly, "they need to be charming and enchanting and lovable for these spirits to agree to be in contracts with them."

"Yes," Makarov agreed, he could see why charisma would be important when your magic relied on someone else doing your bidding, "but I don't see-"

"Makarov," Bob interrupted, the sadness in his eyes was disturbing. Bob was ever sad. Bob was never-endingly cheerful despite the horrors they have been through. "It isn't something they can turn off. And it's not just spirits that fall under their spell. Karin had all the boys wrapped round her little finger in the guild."

"Yes, the boys," Makarov stressed, "I don't know if you noticed this but your Karin was a hot piece-"

"Don't talk about the dead like that!" Bob snapped, "It wasn't just the boys. The girls had the right despise her, she took all the attention away, she did none of the work for the Host Club, and Hibiki especially was smitten with her, and yet they all loved her. She could make any of them do whatever she wanted because they were just as desperate for her attention and love as the boys were."

"Children are-"

"Makarov," Bob looked bleak, "I was just as taken in. I saw the abuse her spirits had to put up with, I saw, and all I did was chide her and nothing else. Because she would look at me with those sweet eyes of hers and what she had to say just made sense. I'm warning you Makarov, a Celestial Mage is dangerous. She could tear your whole guild apart if she wanted to."

"If she wanted to," Makarov repeated heatedly, "if she wanted to. Lucy isn't Karin, I don't think she'll bring disaster and calamity on our heads."

"Just be careful," Bob said, "there is something unnatural about that charisma and one day it could cause you and your children a world of trouble."

"Nothing we can't handle," Makarov said stubbornly, "after all we're Fairy Tail."

"Don't say I didn't warn you."

Makarov left that meeting feeling uneasy because of that. Oh, there were other reasons to, after all Natsu, Erza, and Gray destroyed the meeting house, infuriated all the other guild masters and the Magic Council, and there were obviously something going on for Lullaby to have been stolen so easily, but Bob's words got to him.

After all Natsu, Erza, and Gray would make a lethal team….if they could stop arguing with each other, and while he hoped to one day see them working together on a good cause he never thought he would see it out of his dreams and into reality.

But now he can.

Because they worked well together, they argued less, and it was all because of Lucy Heartfilla.

Lucy was the glue holding this dangerous combination together and that was mildly unnerving after Bob's warnings.

And then he started to see it.

Natsu, who didn't spend time with anyone other than Happy, was all over her and kept invading her space. Erza and Gray, who actually had manners, were now breaking into her apartment. They all wanted to spend time with Lucy and they weren't so keen on sharing her.

Mira smiled more, Elfman boasted, Levy came out of her shell, and Cana started to drink less, all because they wanted to know Lucy Heartfilla and impress her.

Phantom Lord fought them over her.

Oh, he knows it was more than that. That it was something that would have happened sooner or later with the competition between the two guilds and Jose's impossible jealousy and ambition, but still.

She had been the catalyst.

And then her kidnapper wanted to be her best friend, despite calling her a Love Rival, and her abuser wanted her as his back-up dancer.

Cana, who said nothing even to him (though he knew the truth), opened up about everything to Lucy.

Little girls who hated her, as they had previously been the enemy, suddenly saw her as a princess, one of her spirits actually called her a princess, everyone in Magnolia loved her, the boatman called out for her, the children delighted in seeing her, the shop owners cooed over her, and her Landlady, the demon of Strawberry Street who has thrown people out of her apartment for less than Lucy had ever done, has constantly allowed Lucy to be late on rent payment, to allow Natsu's damages, to keep hold of the empty apartment for seven whole years for a girl that might never come back….

And then there were the criminals and the people like Flare, who hurt her and then suddenly go back, make amends to her, try and redeem themselves…..for her.

He dis-banded the guild to protect all his children and they, those stubborn, broken, children, the people who would never talk to one another due to their damn pride, all got back together…..because of Lucy Heartfilla.

And he then realised that Bob had been right. She was dangerous. Her charisma made her dangerous and a threat.

Because one bad word from her could break them all.
