Gray always hated dance parties like these because it always meant he had to dance and he usually spent such parties sulking in a corner with a drink. But in this disco celebration for the defeat of Zeref (the eighth one this week and it was only Tuesday) this time was different.

It was different now because Gray was a boyfriend and it was his boyfriend duty to ask his girlfriend to dance.

(Or Erza would have him brutally murdered for breaking Juvia's heart.)

Gray had been trying to work up the nerve to ask Juvia dance all evening. The fact that they were now officially a couple did not help him as he still had no clue to how to be an actual boyfriend having spent most of his life too busy moping or plotting revenge or fighting with Natsu to actually date a girl.

Surely it couldn't be that hard if Natsu could do it, right?

After all Natsu had demanded Lucy to dance with him as soon as the music started and Loke made an appearance in a shower of gold sparkles. The pair of them having been dancing ever since (much to Loke's disappointment…..not that it lasted long, he found some other girls to dance with within seconds).

It was this that finally spurred him to ask Juvia because there's no way Natsu can do something as easy as this and Gray couldn't.

Gathering all of his courage, and draining his definitely spiked punch, Gray approached Juvia who was standing on the edge of the dance floor watching everyone else have fun with a hopeful expression etched on her face.

"Juvia,"

"Gray-sama!" Juvia turned towards him and beamed radiantly. She looked utterly beautiful to him that Gray instantly forgot what he was supposed to say. "How can Juvia help you?"

"Erm…" Gray said gormlessly. "Would you…..that is to say…..would you like to…?"

"Bear your children?" Juvia interrupted. A dreamy look had taken over her face. "Juvia would be delighted to."

"No!" Gray cried out horrified. "Not that!" he shuddered at the thought. Right now he was barely navigating dating life, how the hell would he cope with fatherhood? "That was not what I was going to ask you!"

"Juvia is sorry," Juvia murmured. "Juvia got ahead of herself again, Juvia will keep working on that in order to not scare Gray-sama," she smiled sweetly, her eyes sparkling, "what is it that Gray-sama wished to ask?" she asked. Gray opened his mouth to reply but before he could Juvia immediately squealed over him. "For Juvia's hand in marriage? Juvia would be delighted to."

"No! Not that either!" Gray yelped. "I was going to ask you….em….you see….would you….like….erm…."

"Have hot wild rampaging sex with Gray-sama tonight?" Juvia filled in innocently (Gray wasn't fooled, he knew fake innocence when he sees it, he grew up with Natsu after all). "Juvia would very much like that. Just let Juvia finish her drink and Gray-sama could ravish Juvia on this very floor if he wished to."

"NO!" Gray's eyes bulged out at that. "No bearing children, no marriage, and definitely no hot wild rampaging sex!" his voice went embarrassingly high at that and he was certain his cheeks were actually as pink as Natsu's hair now. "I was going to ask you if you would like to dance with me," he mumbled embarrassedly.

"Oh," Juvia murmured abashed, "now Juvia just feels foolish."

"That's okay," Gray scratched the back of his head. "I wasn't being direct enough and that allowed your imagination run away with you. I notice you girls do that a lot," he smiled nervously down at her and was relieved to see that Juvia was returning the smile (because if he had said that to any of the other girls they would be wearing his balls for earrings by now) "So erm…." He mumbled. "Would you like to…."

"Bear your children?"

Gray decided it was best if he just dragged Juvia on the dance floor before she had them having grandchildren.
