Day 9- Arranged Marriage, But Not Who You Want AU: Codywan

Obi-Wan smoothed out his collar and looked at himself in the mirror. His tie was straight, and his belt was in all the belt loops of the pants. His shirt was tucked in, but not so much that he looked overly stiff. His jacket fit exactly right, and even buttoned, it still looked well, wrapping around his waist nicely.

Obi sighed. He looked at the time then towards his door. It wouldn't do to keep his future bride waiting.

A knock on his door signaled he was more than right.

"Come in!" Obi called.

The man who stepped in was Cody, looking as good as ever in the staff uniform.

Obi smiled. "Time for me to go?" He tried as best he could to keep the sadness out of his voice.

"Yes sir," Cody responded, his tone calm and voice level. But, the lack of sparkle in his eyes, and dark circles underneath told another story.

Obi walked towards the door. "I'll see you tonight, love," he whispered, gently resting his hand on Cody's cheek.

Cody nodded slowly. "Yes, sir. If you think that's best."

"We won't do anything, just see each other," Obi explained. "One last time."

Cody leaned into the touch and Obi felt the hot tears hit his hand.

"One last time," Cody whispered.

So certainly, Obi-Wan looked nice. But he didn't want to be looking nice for the bride.
