Erza was relaxing after a very successful, long, week on a job. Her body was sore, her eyes heavy with sleep, and there was a heavy laziness that made her slump into her chair and put her feet up.

Who knew managing a fund raising bake sale was such hard work?

It might not have been the most impressive of missions, there might not have been hordes of terrifying monsters, or fearsome bandits, or horrible demons, or even pirates, like there was for most of her S-Class missions, but there was something incredibly satisfying by ensuring that the bake sale was a big hit and the school got the money they needed.

Also Erza's payment had been in the some of the best cake she had ever eaten.

It had horrified her when she turned up and discovered that these mothers, some of the best bakers in Fiore (and that was not an exaggeration, one of them went to the best school for cake making), were only pulling in five hundred jewels a bake sale.

That crossed a line and Erza immediately rolled up her sleeves, donned on her cooking armour, and took over the abysmal organisation of the bakery. She pushed these mothers like they had never been pushed before and it had been a success. Ensuring the quality, working on the selling skills of each mother, and optimising the position of each cake to make them all the more alluring, led to the school raking in close to twenty thousand jewels.

It was incredibly satisfying.

And did she mention the amazing cake she got as a reward? The softest sponge, the creamiest buttercream middle with strawberry jam, and the most perfect icing….

Life was awesome.

"Erza," Mirajane frowned, "I just got a Lacrima call from the school. Did you make one of the mother's do fifty push-ups with one hand because her cupcakes came out a little dry?"

"Yes," Erza said, "she had to learn."

"You made her cry," Mira said disapprovingly, "in fact you made them all cry."

"They needed to learn some hard truths," Erza shrugged, "they were wasting their potential and it had to be pointed out to them. They may not have realised it but they were crying out for my leadership."

"You were hired as security," Mira said flatly, "you know, to prevent schoolboys from stealing the cakes."

Erza ignored her. "They were all amazing," she said dreamily, "once they got it together and put their very best effort in it they really pulled through and I am in awe what a woman is capable of doing."

Mira rolled her eyes at that. "You're a female Fairy Tail mage," she pointed out, "you're capable of everything and more."

"Yes," Erza agreed, "and therefore I am needed to lead them. You know it has occurred to me that half the world's population is female," she said thoughtfully, "if I could harness their power we could easily enslave the male race."

Gray and Natsu, who had been silently squabbling and slapping one another, heard this and froze in horror, ever so slowly they turned to look at Erza with wide, terrified, eyes.

"Oh sweetie," Cana smirked, unashamed about the fact she was obviously eavesdropping the entire time, "what makes you think we don't already?"

Behind them, Gray and Natsu whimpered.
