Day 16- Convenience Store AU: Rex + Ahsoka

The store wasn't particularly busy that day, so as soon as the door opened Rex looked up from the register to see some people walk in. It was a teenage girl, and two men. The girl made a beeline for the restroom, and the two men chuckled and headed to find the men's restroom.

"Don't get lost, Snips!" The dark-haired man called after the girl.

She gave no response as she aggressively pushed the bathroom door open, but Rex was sure he could feel her rolling her eyes.

Rex waited patiently for them to come back, hoping the girl would come out first. He wanted to make sure that everything was okay. The interaction seemed to be more of a sibling one (and he knew a thing or two about those), but better safe than sorry.

His wait was just a few minutes and the girl was out before the men. She didn't leave the shop, but wandered aimlessly looking around.

"Is there anything you need, miss?" Rex asked as she scanned over the various candy bars.

"Nah," she said shaking her head. "Just killing time. How about you?"

"Do I need anything?" Rex chuckled. "Just for the shift to be finally over. This conversation is the most exciting thing that's happened all day."

The girl nodded and hummed. "Ironically enough, this conversation is the least exciting thing to have happened all day for me. Funny how that works."

"Yeah, I suppose so," Rex sighed. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah," she said with a shrug. "Car trips with my dad and brother can just be…interesting."

His guess had been right. He nodded. "I get it. Family, as much as you love them, also tend to be the ones who get on your nerves most."

"Exactly!" she said throwing her hands in the air. "Tease you to the ends of the earth and back. Can't catch a break."

"Luckily, they still love you."

"Yeah, but you'd think they could at least just let you have a bathroom break the first time you ask, and not when they finally need to go."

Rex pursed his lips, trying not to laugh. He knew it wouldn't help. "How much longer is your trip?"

"3 hours," she said scrunching up her face.

"That's still a bit more to go," Rex sympathized. "Sure there's I nothing I can do for you?"

"I'll be fine," she shrugged. "I've done it before."

"I get it, though," Rex said. "My brothers are, or at least used to be, the same way. I think it's just how siblings are."

"Probably," she sighed. "Anyway, I should probably get going."

"You sure you don't want to buy anything?" Rex smiled.

"I'm good, I promise," she insisted.

"I think you do want to buy something," Rex said with a smirk.

She sighed and finally smiled. "Fine," she laughed. "I'll get a chocolate bar."

"Good," Rex said. "It'll make you happier."
