Day 24- Blind Date AU: Blyla

Bly double checked himself in the mirror, making sure he was presentable. He decided it best to wear his nice jeans with a dark gray t-shirt, complete with his nice cream colored jacket with green and yellow strips on the sleeves. He then thanked his lucky stars that his hair was cut close; couldn't be messed up.

Behind him, Cody laughed.

"You look great!" Cody said. "Don't worry. You look fine, the date will be fine. Obi-Wan has assured you time and time again that Aayla is perfect for you."

"Yeah, I know," Bly sighed. "And Obi's a fairly good judge of character…"

"And he's known Aayla for years," Cody offered.

"But what if it goes wrong?" Bly asked.

"Are you actually worried about that?"

Bly shrugged and turned to look at Cody. "I think only as much as anyone would be."

"So don't worry! Problem solved," Cody smirked.

Bly rolled his eyes. "That's the cure-all…"

"Better be," Cody said leaning an arm on Bly's shoulder. "Obi's pulling up with her."

"Can we change the deal? This will be so awkward…" Bly half-grimaced.

Cody shook his head. "Nope. Same deal. We go out now, she gets out, I go with Obi, you two meet each other and go out. We're not introducing you. Ruins the idea of "blind date". Come on."

With a sigh, Bly followed Cody out the door. Obi hadn't bothered to pull into the driveway and was parked on the street. Cody waved to them, and waving back, Aayla got out.

Cody mouthed "you've got this" before jogging to Obi's car and getting in. Bly was left standing in front of the house, with a girl he'd never met.

"Hey!" he called waving to her. "Aayla, is that right?"

She smiled and nodded, her two pigtails bouncing along. "That's right. And you must be Bly. Obi and Cody both speak well of you."

Bly scratched his head and smiled. "Thanks, I can say the same for you. Um, if you come with me, we can take my car to get…coffee? That sound good?"

Aayla shrugged. "Sure! A good coffee is nice for a chat to get to know someone. You have a place in mind?"

"Yeah, I do," Bly replied as he walked her to the car. "My second favorite place."

He opened her door, and she sat down with a "thank you". Jogging around to his side, he got in.

"Why second favorite?" Aayla laughed.

"Well," Bly said with a breath as he backed up the car. "Because Obi and Cody are going to my favorite spot. They did it on purpose, I know they did."

"Trying to make you think outside the box," Aayla smiled. "They're clever, I'll give them that."

"A deadly duo, and sometimes my downfall," Bly sighed.

"Me too," Aayla said. "Though, if it's of any comfort, Cody has the unfortunate luck of being on the receiving end of mine and Obi's shenanigans. It's an issue, having known Obi for quite some time."

Bly chuckled. "Yeah, that's where Obi gets the short stick with Cody and I…it's hard being the one whose hasn't been there as long."

"Yeah…I'd imagine so…but perhaps sometime we can get them?"

"I'd like that," Bly laughed. "Also, do you want to stay inside the coffee place and drink or go somewhere else?"

"If it's an actual café, I'd like to stay. I enjoy the café ambiance."

"Alright! Maybe, depending on the time, we can stop by somewhere else?"

"We'll see," Aayla shrugged. "But I probably wouldn't object."

"Okay!" Bly smiled.

"So far so good." he thought.
