Chapter 5: Hospital

Author's Note: The plot will take place around season 4 where they'll meet Eri. Just wanted to point that out before anyone gets confused.

(Deku's P.O.V.)

"Are they okay? What happened to them?" Aizawa asks the paramedics as Sero is laying on the stretcher looking lifeless.

"It appears that they've been ambushed sir. Witnesses say that all three of them were shot unexpectedly with what appears to be a drug laced dart" the police in charge explains as he pulls out a plastic bag holding the evidence "Another witness says that a motorcyclist abducted the girl by grabbing her with his quirk and throwing her inside a black van"

"A Black Van? Uraraka and I saw a van following us earlier, they even went as far as to drive on the sidewalk. I had suggested us to go inside a building so we can lose them" I explained as I step forward as I see Tomiko receiving air by another paramedic with a small mask.

"What made them run outside in the first place? Did something happen?" All Might ask concerned.

"Well…" we all turn to look at Kacchan at the same time.

"Do we really want to know what you-" Aizawa was cut off abruptly.

"HE CALLED HER FAT!" Everyone shouts at the same time while pointing accusingly at Kacchan, which makes everyone gasp.

"What's the big deal?! So what if I called her Fat?" After saying that, we were all shocked when Tani slapped him in the same spot Emma had punch him.

"You insensitive jerk! You never call a girl Fat! Everyone knows that" she exclaims as she crosses her arms and turns away from him "And here I thought you were a cool guy, but I guess I was wrong"

Before Kacchan can retort, Sero starts to violently shake and then sits up suddenly. He rips off the mask and turns to throw up to the side.

"We need to get him to the hospital fast!" one of the paramedic's shouts as he pushes Sero back down as he weakly tried to fight them off.

"The van had a bird on the side! It was silver!" Sero manages to shout before being sedated.

"What just happened?!" Aizawa asks as All Might joins them to go to the hospital.

"By the looks of it, he got shot by the kind of drug that makes you especially sick on an empty stomach. It's a new drug that Gangs and Yakuza use to torture their victims; however, since they just used it for a kidnapping, I'm guessing that they had an intended target. They probably didn't know that the victims had an empty stomach…" the cop says as he takes down notes "A silver bird… That's a new one"

"But why would they want Emma?" Denki asked worried.

"Can it be that they know that she's attending UA?" Kirishima adds.

"We'll try to investigate, but it might take a while. If it is a Yakuza or gang related activity… There's a good chance that she might not make it" he explains.

"What? You mean they'll kill her?! There must be something you can do! Please!" I begged, but Aizawa gave me a stern look.

"We'll see what we can do…" Uraraka says under her breath without the adults hearing.

"G-Guys…" we hear a weak voice say. When we turn our heads, we see that Tomiko is weakly sitting up as the paramedic wraps him in a small blanket "… We need to go back to the dorm and…" he coughs weakly "Once I get better, bring me to her dorm. I know what we can use to find… Her…"

"YOU CAN TALK?!" We all shout at the same time as he passes out again.

"Wait… Wouldn't that be in…" Mina begins but trails off.

"We really don't have a choice… We have to either have to wait for them to find her or trust Tomiko… Otherwise, she'll kill us if we dare go in her dorm" I say after taking a big gulp.

(Emma's P.O.V.)

"Ugh…" I moan in pain as I hold my stomach. But before I knew it, I sat up covering my mouth while trying to stop myself from vomiting.

"Here, use this" I hear a gentle voice say as he places his hand on my back and places an empty bucket before me as I threw up in it. Once I had finished, I feel super weak as he helps me lay back down.

"W-Who are you? Where am I?" my head hurt badly as I feel him place a cool wet towel on my forehead while my eyes are still closed.

"Sh, you're still not well…" he says gently as he places a straw in a cup of what appears to be water and gives it to me as I drink some "Do you think you can stomach down some porridge? It appears that you haven't eaten at all"

"I don't know… I feel so tired" I pant softly as I try to keep myself awake as I try to remember what happened.

"I'll go make you some, just get some rest and if you don't feel well…" he hands me a remote with a button "Just click this and I'll come running, okay?"

I see, he's a doctor. Wow, he looks so young to be a doctor. Must be really smart too… Maybe I'm at a hospital? I sigh softly as I nod in understanding.

"Good girl" he pats my head gently as he begins to walk out "It's okay to take a nap while you wait"

"Thank… You…" I relax as I drift off to sleep.

I don't know how long I've been asleep, but I awoke to the smell of something sweet and warm.

"Welcome back sleepyhead, I was beginning to get worried for a minute there" the doctor explains as I slowly open my eyes and yawn.

"Did I die or something?" I asked confused, which makes him laugh.

"No, your nap went over two hours" he explains as he comes next to me holding a bowl and begins to stir the delicious porridge.

"Now I see why you were concerned…" I try to sit up, but he stops me as he fixes my pillows to have me up in a way that a sick child would sit while still laying down.

"You're still too weak…" he picks up the spoon and begins to feed me "… It's already warm so you don't have to worry about burning yourself"

I take a small bite… The taste was delicious.

"I included some honey to sweeten it, but it's also natures medicine" he explains as he gives me another spoonful of the yummy porridge.

"How's my friend?" I ask as he stirs the food, but then freezes.

"My priority is your health, I'll let you know when he's okay. Do you understand?" he explains warmly as he warmly smiles and then feeds me again.

"Okay, but are any of my classmates here?" I asked, but then my eyelids begin to feel heavy.

"I would have to check first… You ate a good amount, that's perfect. Before you know it, you'll feel better in no time" he explains as my eyes weakly close "Just rest I'll come check on you later"

Before I can say anything, a warm blanket is placed upon me by someone next to me who wasn't there before. My vision becomes blurry as I try to see who it is, only for sleep to take me.

(Sero's P.O.V.) (In his dream)

"Emma, wait!" I call out after I see her stop as she seems to hide something in her pockets as her breathing becomes shaky "Hey… Are you okay? What was that about?"

"Y-You wouldn't understand…" she removes the hairclip that I got her as her hair falls over her eye and the other eye that she refused to show.

"Hey…" I lightly touch her arm and gentry turn her around to face me "It's okay… I might not know what happened over there, but I know one thing… You… You didn't have a good life growing up… Did you?"

She look's away looking ashamed as she sniffled while trying to pull herself away from me, but I pull her close to me in a protective hold.

"You don't have to tell me, but just know one thing…" I place my hand on top of her head as I gently stroke it "I won't judge and… I'll always listen. Even if you think that you're alone, just know that you're not. I can't even begin to say that I completely understand what you've gone through, but I will say this… Whatever it is that's bothering you…" I pull away and slowly move her whole bangs to the side, revealing both her eyes and, just as I expected, she has one eye bandaged "… Just remember that your past won't hurt you anymore"

"Sero, I-" she trailed off as I see her expression change "Tomiko? Did I leave you behind?"

"Emma! Run-" Tomiko shouts but gets darted through the neck and passes out once he hits the ground making a small eep sound once he lands.

"Did he just speak?" I asked shocked as she run towards him.

"Tomiko! What's going on? What's happening?" She gently picks him up but he doesn't respond.

I barely take two steps before I feel something hit my shoulder as my body gets heavy and I drop onto the ground.

"Sero!" Emma shouts as she runs to my direction, only to see that she gets hit in the neck. I realize that we all were hit with a dart as I weakly drag my body towards her. She stumbles and falls hard onto the floor. Emma looks at my direction as she began to reach her hand out toward me.

I open my mouth to say something, but then I saw a motorcyclist speed his way towards our direction and I tried to use my quirk. Before I knew it, the motorcyclist hand and arm turned into the claw arms that you see at the arcade as they swiftly grab her around the waist. A black van with a silver-grey bird on the end side speeds up and opens the side of the door as Emma is thrown in.

"No…" I use my arms to try to lift myself up, only to fall back down as they drive off. Tears fill my eyes as I hear people scream as I hear someone call an ambulance.

(Out from Nightmare)

I sit up and gasp as I look around the bright white room… I was at the hospital.

"Sero…" I look at who spoke and see it's my classmates, Midoriya being the one who spoke.

"E-Emma, where is she? Did they find her?" I asked as I try to get off the bed, but they stop me.

"They didn't find her, but Tomiko said that there's a possible way to find her. Knowing the adults, they don't want us involved" he explains as Tomiko hops on his shoulder.

"That's right, you need to stall them by giving them your statement. I already gave them mine, so I'm free to go back in the dorm-" he cuts off because I gasp.

"So I was right! You really can talk!" I shout as Tomiko just sits there.

"Yes… And Emma will kill me later, but we need you to listen to the plan" he explains in a serious tone.

"I can't help at all? Why? I was there-" I was cut off by Midoriya.

"With this, we think we can find her…" he holds out what appears to be a worn-out scarf.

"That's it? Doesn't she have a sweater or a shirt that might've been better" before I can continue, everyone end up looking a little uncomfortable "Am… Am I missing something here? Why are you guys doing that?"

"Tomiko wouldn't let us in and…" Uraraka started as Bakugou walks in with a bandaged hand "… Bakugou tried to go in and got attacked for doing so"

"They're coming in, but don't worry… We'll find her" Midoriya says as Tomiko glares at Bakugou.

"Wait!" I shout as I see Emma's hairclip in the tray next to me "Take this… Just in case… Please save her…"

(Emma's P.O.V.)

"Oh, my head…" I say as I sit up alone in the room "Weird… Hospitals usually have windows… Now that I think about it… Doctors don't cook for patients either…"

"Good to see that you're awake, how are you feeling?" The "Doctor" asks I can tell that he's holding something inside his pocket.

"I'm okay, I guess… This isn't really a hospital, isn't it?" I ask as I lean away when he gets closer.

"In a way, it isn't… But I came to speak to you about this…" He pulls out my lighter and my packet of cigarettes from his pockets.

"So what? They're mine. Why am I even here?" I spat out as I slowly remembered what had happened "Someone hired you, didn't they?"

"I am only here as a doctor, so I-" I jump off the bed as I grab a scalpel from the counter.

"You better tell me what's going on before this gets very ugly" I say as I realize that I'm wearing some kind of nightgown instead of a hospital gown "My friends were hurt and I was the only one targeted… Why is that?"

"E-Easy there Emma, put the scalpel down and you will know in due time" with each step he takes, I grip the blade tighter. However, once he reaches me, he tries to take the blade away and I twist his arm behind his back as I hold the blade to his neck.

"How the hell do you know my name? It's pretty funny that anyone that tries to help me are usually the ones that have a dark agenda. Now talk! Who's in charge here?!" I inch the tip under his chin in a downward angle pointing at his throat.

"Me…" I hear a door open as the person slowly walks in "Put it down Emma"

"Akihito…" I growl in annoyance "A little surprised that you're behind this. I don't know what you want, but I suggest that you let me go and pretend that this never happened"

"What happened to you Em? You used to be so happy and perky, let's not forget a little vulnerable-" he's cut off when I kick the doctor towards him and used my quirk to perfectly pin his shoulder part of his shirt to the wall.

"I'm not the same weak girl that everyone made fun of, especially the kind that you were attracted to" I say as I use my quirk to levitate the bed "You'd be surprised what living in the streets could do to a girl like me"

"You lived in the streets?!" he seemed to sound genuinely concerned "I was told that you were given up for adoption"

"Ha! Seems like you still believe in your daddy's lies. Can't say that I'm surprised. I mean… He was the reason why I ended up like this in the first place. The only people who actually gave a damn about me are gone because of that bastard" I growl in anger as I see the doctor pull out his phone only for Akihito to stop him.

"I didn't bring you here to fight you, I just wanted to talk and- Ack!" He dodges the bed that I threw at him.

"Oh yeah, nothing says "I just wanna talk" like kidnapping a girl who was having a moment with a friend!" I run and jump over him as I bolt down the hallways.

"No! Stop her!" this time he allows the doctor to make the call.

I see men trying to block my way, but I either use my quirk or find ways to dodge them. One manages to pull my hair, but I grab a broken vase piece as I stab it into his leg and it works as I continue running. When I see what appears to be an exit, I run even faster.

"Not so fast" I hear a voice say calmly as I feel someone elbow my back making me feel immense pain and this person grabs me in a chokehold.

"Ugh!" I try to kick and attack whoever got me, but he just seemed unbothered by what I did "Let me go!"

"Not a very nice thing you did there, you're lucky that the boss ordered us not to kill you because you'd be dead" he said huskily in my ear.

"Go to hell…" I say as I bite his arm hard in which he retaliates by tightening his grip.

"That's enough, Asahi. Let her go" Akihito commands as he reaches us while the doctor helps the other members that were hurt by me.

"Do you really that's a wise idea sir? What if she tries to get away again?" I start gasping for air as I claw his arm which seems ineffective against him.

"She can't breathe! Let her go!" Akihito pulls me from his grip and I start gasping for air as he holds me close once I fall onto my knees "Sh, you're okay… You're okay"

I weakly push him away as he buries his face in my shoulder and then whispers sorry repeatedly under his breath. My body weakened from using my quirk as his long dark blackish red hair covers my face while he strokes my back.

"Why?" I ask weakly as I feel tears fill my eyes and it was until I felt them flowing out that I realized that they had unbandaged my eye "You left me to die… Why do you care of all a sudden? How is it when I'm about to finally be happy…"

"I know… I know about your other foster parents…" my eyes widen when he said that "I know that you use those cigarettes for more than just smoking… Am I right?"

"Like you care…" I say and I feel him pick me up bridal style "Put me down"

"You're weak, you've overused that quirk of yours… I didn't even think you had a quirk" he states as he carries me down a dark hallway "It's super late, it's better that we talk tomorrow"

"We have nothing to talk about! Why can't you understand that? Why can't you just let me go?" I demand as he opens a different door and he walks inside "Are you even listening to me?"

The room was beautifully decorated with a red velvety bed, it almost looked like those royal bedrooms that you would see in movies or children's book. He sat me down gently and kneeled before me as he pushes up my sleeves and begins to trace my scars with both his hands. I turn away from him and pull my hands away from him. Akihito then uses his knuckle to wipe away my tears in which he gripped my chin to keep me in place to do so.

"You have no idea… How much I've missed you…" he says as he places his head on my chest.
