Chapter 4: A Spartan In Angel Island
Back at Angel Island, Tails was flying around with his two tails, trying to find Eggman and Knuckles.
Tails: Man. Where is Knuckles?
He came into a clearing with a lake and a nearby smoke.
Tails: I wonder what that is.
Suddenly, out of the lake came a giant light blue squid.
Tails: A King Squid!
The King Squid uses Flame Breath to shoot a fireball from it's mouth at the smoke, creating an explosion. Tails gasps in fright as he saw the King Squid grab him by it's tentacle and roars at him.
Tails: ARGH! SONIC! HELP ME!
Suddenly, out of the fire came an armored soldier, who survived the fall and blast. The soldier is wearing a green futuristic helmet with a yellow visor and green armor and carrying a two-bladed plasma sword. He uses his speed and sword to slash the King Squid's tentacle, allowing Tails to escape. The soldier lands in between Tails and the King Squid.
Soldier: Are you alright, kid?
Tails: Yeah. Thanks for saving me.
The King Squid fires another Flame Breath, but the soldier activates his Bubble Shield to deflect the attack back at the squid and it fell back into the lake. The soldier turns to Tails.
Soldier: I am Master Chief by the way. I'm a UNSC Spartan. What's your name?
Tails: My name is Tails. Nice to meet you, Master Chief.
Suddenly, the King Squid rises back up from the lake.
Master Chief: It's not over yet. We have to stop that thing.
Tails: Right! I'll call in the Tornado II!
Tails taps some buttons on the device on his wrist to summon a blue biplane called the Tornado II. It transforms to it's Walker Mode and Tails went on it. Master Chief uses his S2 AM Sniper Rifle to shoot at the King Squid, while Tails fires his Lock-On Lasers from his Tornado II. Both attacks did alot of damage to the King Squid. The squid then uses Multifists to rapidly slam it's tentacles on Master Chief and Tails, doing some damage to them. Master Chief uses his M41 Rocket Launcher to fire rockets at the King Squid, while Tails uses Missile Barrage to fire missiles from his Tornado II. Both attacks did alot more damage to the King Squid. The squid then uses Flame Breath on Master Chief and Tails, doing some more damage to them.
Tails: This squid is really powerful!
Master Chief: We should finish it off quick.
Master Chief uses his M6 Spartan Laser to fire a powerful laser beam at the King Squid, while Tails uses Power Laser to fire a powerful laser beam from his Tornado II. Both attacks did alot of damage to the King Squid, knocking it back to the lake.
Tails: We did it! We won!
Tails got off his Tornado II and it flew away. He then saw something glowing in the water.
Tails: I wonder what's over there.
He ran over to the water and saw a yellow Chaos Emerald.
Tails: The Chaos Emerald! Now that could be useful sometimes.
He picks up the emerald and turns to Master Chief, who was about to walk away. He pulls him back.
Tails: Wait! You can't leave!
Master Chief: Why?
Tails: My friend Knuckles is captured by Eggman!
Master Chief: Sorry kid. But I have more important things to do.
He was about to walk off again, but Tails grabs him again.
Tails: No! Come on!
He drags Master Chief by the back.
Master Chief: Well, can't blame the kid.
Master Chief finally agrees to help Tails find Knuckles. They made their way to the Mushroom Hill Zone, where there are giant mushrooms all over the place. They came across a wall and a strange door with an up arrow.
Tails: I wonder where that door will take us.
They went through the door to see that the scenery changes from spring to autumn and that the wall that was there is gone.
Master Chief: The wall is gone. That door must have something to do with it.
Suddenly, they got attacked by Eggman's Robots like the Motobugs, Flappers, and Egg Robos. Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Motobugs, while Master Chief uses his MA5C Assault Rifle to rapid fire at the Flappers and Egg Robos. They took out the robots and went through a door with a down arrow. When they got out, the scenery changes from autumn to spring and a huge pit appears.
Tails: Now when we went through that door, a huge pit appears.
Suddenly, some bird-like Heartless called Rapid Thrusters appeared. Master Chief uses his duo M7 Submachine Guns to rapid fire at the Rapid Thrusters, taking them out. Tails and Master Chief jumps down the hole, where Tails fires his Plasma Balls to take out some Flappers along the way. They went through another up arrow door and it takes them to a dark cave.
Tails: Why is it so dark in here? I can't see anything.
Master Chief: I'll activate my visor to search for something.
Master Chief activates his light visor and saw a Bomb Block.
Master Chief: I found something! If we destroy that block, maybe the whole cave will light up.
Tails: Let me take care of it.
Tails fires a Plasma Ball at the Bomb Block, making the whole cave light up. Tails and Master Chief then jump up some platforms that leads them out of the cave, where the scenery was back to autumn, but they also got attacked by some Egg Robos, Gold Kamerons, Crescendos, and Rapid Thrusters. The Rapid Thrusters pecked at Tails and Master Chief, but they easily dodged their attacks. Tails uses his Chu Bombs to summon mouse-like bombs to attack the Egg Robos and Gold Kamerons, while Master Chief uses his M90 Shotgun to fire at the Crescendos and Rapid Thrusters. They took out the enemies and went through another down arrow door, which changes the scenery to spring again. They also encountered more Rapid Thrusters and Hot Rods. Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Rapid Thrusters, while Master Chief threw his Type-1 Plasma Grenades at the Hot Rods, which sticks on the Heartless and explodes. After taking out the Heartless, Tails and Master Chief proceeds to the next area.
Tails: Finally! We're outta the maze!
In the next area, they got attacked by spiky rock-like Heartless called Earth Cores. The Earth Cores spin their bodies into Tails and Master Chief, but they easily dodged their attacks. Master Chief uses his Type-1 Plasma Sword to slash the Earth Cores, taking them out. Tails and Master Chief went through another up arrow door and the scenery changes from spring to autumn again.
Tails: Well, the scenery has changed again, but there is nothing here.
Master Chief: Maybe we should keep looking around.
They went inside the cave, where they got ambushed by some Motobugs and Gold Kamerons. Tails uses Rapid Tails Attack on the Motobugs, while Master Chief uses his M6 Spartan Laser on the Gold Kamerons. They took out the robots and a Bomb Block appears, which Master Chief destroys with his Plasma Sword, making a rumble.
Tails: What was that sound?
Master Chief: I don't know. We should go back and find out.
Tails and Master Chief went out of the cave and went through the down arrow door, changing the scenery back to spring again. They went back to the cave and saw a new tunnel up the ceiling. Tails flew up the tunnel and saw a button which he pressed. He lands back down to Master Chief and they went out of the cave. They saw a door by the ledge and jump up to it. They entered the door and it takes them to another cave with an up arrow door. They went through the door and saw a sleeping Hot Rod.
Tails: Hey, that enemy is sleeping.
Master Chief: We should take it out quietly and proceed.
Tails uses a Chu Bomb on the Hot Rod, taking it out. He and Master Chief went through another door and it takes them on a raft on the river.
Tails: Whoa! Now we're on a raft?
Master Chief: Maybe this raft will take us somewhere.
As they ride the raft through the river, they got attacked by more of Eggman's Robots. The first group were some Motobugs and Flappers. Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Motobugs, while Master Chief fires his MA5C Assault Rifle at the Flappers. After the Motobugs and Flappers were taken out, the Egg Robos were next. Master Chief fires his M90 Shotgun to take them out. After the Egg Robos were taken out, the Buzzbombers attack next. Tails fires his Plasma Balls to take them out. After the Buzzbombers were taken out, a Gold Kameron appears. Master Chief fires his M41 Rocket Launcher to take it out. Tails and Master Chief took a safe ride through the rest of the river until it reaches the end.
Tails: Finally! We can get off the raft now.
Master Chief: My sensors indicated Eggman nearby. Let's hurry.
They made their way through the Mushroom Hill Zone, fighting more Motobugs, Egg Pawns, Flappers, and Egg Robos along the way. Tails uses Rapid Tails Attack on the Motobugs and Egg Pawns, while Master Chief fires his duo M7 Submachine Guns at the Flappers and Egg Robos. They took out the robots and made their way to the Barrel Cannon.
Master Chief: Why is that barrel floating in the air?
Tails: No time to ask questions. Just jump into it.
They jumped inside the barrel and it fired them to the other side of the forest, where they found Eggman.
Master Chief: Stop right there, Eggman!
Tails: You'll pay for what you've done to Knuckles!
Tails uses the Chaos Emerald to increase his powers. Eggman fires his Vulcan Cannon from his Egg Walker at Tails and Master Chief, but they easily dodged his attack. Tails uses Rapid Tails Attack on Eggman, while Master Chief fires his S2 AM Sniper Rifle. Both attacks did alot of damage to Eggman. Eggman then fires his Lock-On Lasers from his Egg Walker at the duo, but they still dodged his attacks. Tails uses a Chu Bomb on Eggman, while Master Chief threw his Plasma Grenade. Both attacks did alot more damage to Eggman. Eggman then uses Missile Barrage to fire missiles from his Egg Walker at the duo, but they easily dodged his attack. Tails fires his Plasma Ball at Eggman, while Master Chief fires his M41 Rocket Launcher. Both attacks did alot of damage to Eggman, turning him into a trophy. Tails ran up to the trophy.
Tails: This is for Knuckles! Take that!
He kicks it. Suddenly, the trophy breaks into purple liquid and disappears.
Tails: What?
Master Chief: It's a fake!
Master Chief then saw something.
Master Chief: Tails, watch out!
A black arrow came out of nowhere, but Master Chief and Tails dodges. Eggman emerges from the tree.
Eggman: You don't really think you've beaten me already, did you? That was bait for fox boy here.
He fires another arrow, but Master Chief and Tails jumps out of the way.
Tails: Why you...
Master Chief grabs Tails.
Master Chief: There's no time! Let's get outta here!
They leapt from the cliff and disappeared into the woods.
Eggman:(Chuckles)The hunt begins.
?: You can continue on your hunt later.
Eggman picks up his communicator.
Eggman: Sephiroth, you never let me have any fun.
Sephiroth: I have located Amy Rose. Turn her into a trophy and then use the Shadow Bugs to clone her and use her against Sonic. Then you must locate where Dracula took Tifa Lockhart and get her too. Then you can play with the fox and the Spartan later.
Eggman: What about Cloud? If Sonic and Cloud join forces, things could get messy.
Sephiroth: The Heartless will deal with him. Now get to work!
Eggman: OK, OK, Sephiroth. I'm on it.
He flew away from Angel Island and starts hunting for Amy.
