My New Life in Equestria.
Chapter 6:
"Hello guardian" A voice spoke to me.
"Hello?" I respond to nothing but a tree.
"I wasn't planning on interfering in your life anymore, however, recent developments have arisen." The voice said.
"Who are you? Where am I?" I reply.
"Who do you think I am guardian? We have spoken before." The voice said.
I think for a moment, remembering I have seen this tree before. On IO.
"Wait," I say, taking a step toward the tree.
"Are you, The Traveler?" I ask.
"Indeed, I sent you here after your death to begin anew, however, I did not foresee Pholmo's essence bonding with you" The Traveler replies.
"Is that why she keeps trying to assault my mind?" I ask.
"Oh yes, if you do not purge her from your mind and body, she will be there forever."
"How do I purge her? I don't have The Light anymore!" I say.
"Guardian. When you were risen by your ghost, The Light permanently bonded with your very soul. You will always have The Light with you."
"But how do I call upon it? I can't feel it anymore."
"The Light manifests itself differently in Equestria, consider it more of a booster to the magic of the land."
"What does that mean?!" I say frustrated.
The Traveler chuckles before replying.
"You will discover that in time, but for now, to deal with Pholmo, you will need the magic of friendship. Seek out the Elements of Harmony, they are your key." The Traveler said before beginning to fade.
"But what do I do with them?! How do I use them to get rid of Pholmo?! Please, Traveler! Why can't you just tell me how-"
I was interrupted by a flash of light and finding myself back in my hospital bed.
"To beat her..." I finish.
"What was that darling?" Rarity said.
"I just spoke to The Traveler!" I said in excitement.
"What?!" Said everypony in the room.
"How?" Twilight asked while approaching my bed.
"I have no idea, but The Traveler told me how I can permanently defeat Pholmo and get her out of my mind," I said.
"That's great news sugar cube! How do we do that?" Applejack said.
"We? You would all help me?" I asked confused.
"Of course sweetie! Did you think you would have to do it alone?" Rarity said.
"Honestly? Yes. But I appreciate your help, all of you." I said with a smile.
Everypony nodded and smiled.
"But when it comes to Pholmo, I need to finish what I started and end that fiend myself," I say with a serious tone.
"And if she ends up taking control of my body, do not hesitate to-" I stop talking, knowing they understood what I meant.
"Hesitate to do what?" Apple Bloom said.
"It's not going to come to that Mex" Rainbow Dash said.
"What are you guys talking about?" Scootaloo said with confusion.
"Please, Pholmo cannot roam free in this world. If you have the chance, and it comes to it." I said solemnly.
"It won't come to that! We'll make sure of it!" Twilight said with a firm tone.
"Come to what?! Why is no pony explaining anything?" Sweetie Belle said.
I turn to the girls and say.
"I'm saying, that-" I am cut off by Twilight.
"No! You are a young colt! There is always another way!"
I nod my head.
"I sure hope so," I think to myself.
"The Traveler gave me a mission, a clue to how to beat her, I need to seek out something called "The Elements of Harmony" and somehow use them to beat her," I say.
"The Elements of Harmony?!" Everypony exclaimed.
"Have you heard of them?" I ask.
"Heard of them? We represent them darling!" Rarity said.
I look at all of them confused, waiting for an explanation.
"Ah-hem, I guess that's my cue. Honesty, Kindness, Loyalty, Generosity, Laughter and Magic; these are the Elements of Harmony." Twilight said while pointing a hoof to each pony respective to each element.
"The Elements are connected to us, that's how we've been able to protect Equestria." She finished.
That's when it clicked, I truly am going to need my friends to help me beat Pholmo once and for all. But how?
"I'm so confused! How are the elements going to help me? I need to start looking into this right now." I say as I start getting up.
"Oh, no young colt! You need to stay here and rest." Twilight said.
"I can't! I have no idea when Pholmo is going to try again, I need to end this as soon as possible." I say while sitting on the side of my bed.
I stand up from my bed slightly wobbly but stable enough.
"You can't leave until the doctors say it's safe for you to leave," Fluttershy said while putting a hoof on my shoulder.
"Quite right, what do you think you're doing young colt?! Back to bed this instant!" Nurse Redheart said entering the room.
"Please everypony, I feel fine now. The Light restored me when I spoke with The Traveler, I need this." I said with pleading eyes.
The doctor walked back over to my bed.
"The only issue with you was that you were exhausted, I suppose you can return home early under a promise that you will return the moment anything happens." The doctor said.
"Yes! I promise! Let's go everypo-" I say.
"Hold on my boy." The doctor said before turning to Applejack.
"If you suspect there may be an issue, he is to return without delay."
He turns to The Crusaders.
"I would like you three to also keep an eye on Mex, just in case he tries hiding anything from Applejack." He says with a chuckle and a wink.
"We promise Doctor!" The Crusaders say in unison.
I cross my hooves and, in a joking tone say.
"Aw come on! Do you really think I would hide something like that?"
The response was everypony turning to look at me with a raised eyebrow before we all burst out in laughter.
It was just starting to get into the evening when I walked out of the hospital with my friends.
"Twilight? Do you have any books I can read about the Elements of Harmony?" I ask.
"Do I?! I sure do Mex! Come along!" Twilight replies.
I turn to the Crusaders.
"I'll catch you later girls, you go on and crusade without me, if anything happens, I'll let you all know, okay?"
"You sure Mex? It won't feel the same to crusade without you." Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah, this will probably take a while before I realise what I am supposed to do. Go and have some extra fun for me, okay?" I say as I give them a quick group hug.
"Alright, go and get 'em Mex!" Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah! We know you'll find out what to do!" Scootaloo said.
"Yeah! What they said! Good luck Mex!" Sweetie Belle said.
We wave goodbye to each other as the Mane 6 and I make our way to Twilights Library once again. All six keeping one eye on me to make sure I don't pass out or something.
"Promise us something Mex," Twilight said.
"Yeah?" I ask as I turn to look at them.
"You will tell one of us if you feel unwell, won't you?"
"I already made that promise, remember?"
"To the doctor, yes, will you make it to us as well?" Twilight replied.
I raise a hoof to my heart and say.
"I promise I will tell somepony if I begin to feel unwell."
Pinkie Pie zips up to me and stares deep into my eyes.
"Do you Pinkie promise?" She says.
"Uhh...?"
"Do you... cross your heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in your eye?" Pinkie says while crossing her heart with her hoof and pretending to shove a cupcake in her eye.
I smile and repeat the movements while I say.
"Yes Pinkie, I Pinkie Promise that I will tell one of you if something is wrong."
"Okie dokie lokey!" She replies while bouncing up and down.
"What do you hope to find in the book Mex?" Twilight asks
"I'm not sure, I'm hoping something will spark and I'll realise what I need to do," I reply.
"Let's hope so," Fluttershy said as we arrived at the library.
"I'll go and get the book, Spike?" Twilight called out.
"In here Twilight!" Came the reply from the kitchen.
"Just fixing you up some dinner."
"Aww, thanks, Spike! But. Could you prepare seven more plates? Our friends are over for dinner."
"No problem!" Spike replied.
About a minute later, Twilight walks over to the table floating a book titled "Predictions and Prophecies"
"Here's the book Mex," Twilight says as she sets the book down in front of me and flips to the page on the elements.
I start reading the book, somehow being able to read pony language. Gonna have to ask about that later.
"I don't understand, I'm not seeing anything that would help me beat Pholmo," I say.
The book mentions the elements needing the core aspects of friendship to work, but this doesn't exactly explain-
Wait, I can't do this by myself... That's what The Traveler meant! I need my friends to help me! But if the six are connected to the elements, how does it work?
"Hey, Twilight?" I ask.
"Yeah?" Twilight replies.
"How do you use the elements? How exactly do they help you protect Equestria?" I say.
"We harness the magic of friendship together and cast an extremely powerful spell. The spell does whatever we need it to do." She pauses.
"For example, it turned Discord to stone, stripped away Tirek's stolen magic and returned it to their rightful owners, or even turning Nightmare Moon back to Princess Luna."
"Princess Luna was Nightmare Moon?! From the legend in this book?" I gasp.
Twilight giggles.
"Yes, my friends and I used the elements to defeat Nightmare Moon and return Luna to us."
I realised at that moment. The Elements need to be used, on me! I don't know if they can use them so easily, or even IF they would agree to blast me like that. But I know that's what eventually has to happen.
"I-I think I know how to beat Pholmo," I say with my head hung low.
"Really?! That's great!" Twilight said.
"What do we need to do?" Said Rainbow Dash.
My head is still hanging low to the floor something is wrong.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Fluttershy asked.
"I-I think you girls are gonna have to blast me with the elements to destroy Pholmo."
"WHAT?!" Said everypony at once.
"No way, no how!" Said Applejack
"That's crazy talk!" Said Rainbow Dash.
"Darling, I'm not sure I'm okay with that." Rarity said.
"Think about it everypony! There's an evil bit- uhh, entity ensnared to my soul, your friendship spell has to be the answer!" I say.
"Mex, I'm not sure what the effects will be if we use the elements on somepony that we don't want to use them on," Twilight said.
"Well, we have to try! Please! I can feel her slowly kil- hurting me..." I say after stopping myself but it was too late, they knew what I was going to say.
"Oh hon, we understand but, what would happen if we ended up hurting you? I'd hate myself if I hurt such a sweet young colt." Applejack said.
"It can't hurt more than the thoughts of what would happen if she took control of me," I said.
A few moments of silence follow my sentence before Twilight turns to Spike and says.
"Spike? Would you send a letter to the Princesses and update them on everything that's happened since we last saw them, please?"
"Sure," Spike replies and starts writing on a scroll.
"Do you think Princess Celestia will know what to do?" I ask.
"I'm sure she'll say the same thing, but maybe she knows how we can use the elements to help aside from casting an extremely powerful spell at you," Twilight replied.
*Whoosh!* The scroll Spike had written was incinerated in green fire and blown into the wind where it disappeared.
"All done!" Spike said.
"Maybe the clue means something different," I say.
"Like what?" Spike says.
"I have no idea," I say while planting my face onto the table in front of me.
"Hey, where are the elements right now?" I ask.
"We had to put them back into the Tree of Harmony. But we are connected to them and don't need the physical elements anymore." Twilight said.
"Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it," I say while smiling.
"Of course Mex! You're our friend now! And friends help friends!" Rarity said.
"Huh. Yeah, I suppose they do, don't they? That's why you're keeping that payment I gave you right Rarity?" I ask while giggling under my hoof.
"Oh yeah! I meant to talk to you about that! You cheeky little-" Rarity was interrupted by a knock at the front door.
Rarity grunts and looks at me in the eye as I give her a cheeky wink.
"Oh! We will have this conversation young colt, believe me!" She said with a giggle.
Spike goes to the door and finds two ponies I've never met before. Another alicorn, with a pink coat that is darker than Pinkie Pie's, a mane and tail made up of violet, rose and gold streaks with a gold crown encrusted with a purple gem sitting atop her head, and a cutie mark resembling a diamond blue heart.
And the other pony, a white-coated unicorn, with several shades of blue for a mane and tail with a cutie mark of a six-pointed purple star similar to Twilights on a dark blue shield with three small light blue stars above it.
"Princess Cadance! Shining Armour! What are you doing here?" Twilight asks as she runs up and hugs them both.
"Twily!" Said the unicorn.
"Twilight! We're so happy to see you!" Said the Alicorn.
"I'm gonna assume that Cadance is the Alicorn because Twilight said "Princess" and that leaves the unicorn as Shining Armour." I think to myself.
"We got your letter about the events that happened here and we couldn't believe it, we thought this was an interesting way of asking for a visit." Shining Armour said.
A confused Twilight looked back at them.
"We sent a letter to Spike yesterday saying we were coming. Didn't you get it?" Princess Cadance said.
Twilight turned to Spike with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, I uh, probably got caught up in my comic and forgot to tell you, sorry," Spike said.
Twilight smiles and shakes her head.
"Come on in please, we're in the library," Twilight said.
"You know, you don't have to prank us to get us to come and visit you Twily, you could just-" Shining Armour said before stopping himself at seeing the Alicorn Colt sitting at the table.
Both his and Cadance's jaw drop to the floor upon seeing him.
"Shining? Cadance? This is Mex and Mex? This is Shining Armour and Princess Cadance." Twilight said while gesturing to each pony.
"Wha- what?! How?! Twilight?" Cadance and Shining said at the same time, clearly confused.
"I-I'm sorry, please excuse my rudeness, a pleasure to meet you Mex," Cadance said while giving a curtsy bow.
"We have no idea Cadance, he appeared here in a meteor a few days ago, and." Twilight then caught them up on everything that's happened until now with me retelling my side of it.
"So, you were killed in battle and woke up in a meteor?" Shining said.
"Yeah, pretty much. I kind of killed myself while taking Pholmo with me. This time felt different though, I mean I had died thousands of times before and I knew I would always come back but, at that moment, I knew I was gone for good." I said.
"And then I woke up here, I was terrified at first because I didn't know what was happening but then the Crusaders found me hiding in their clubhouse and now, they're the best friends I've ever had," I added.
Shining made a gesture with his hoof that I would recognise anywhere, a salute, I saluted back.
"I knew I felt an aura of military around you," I said.
"Alright boys, let's focus on the task at hand, shall we?" Twilight said with the girls giggling behind us.
"What exactly is the task?" Shining said.
"When I detonated that explosive, killing both of us, Pholmo's soul was somehow entwined with mine and was reincarnated along with me here," I say.
"And now, she keeps trying to take control of Mex's body by dragging him into a dream world and fightin him for control." Applejack said.
"I've killed her twice now in that dream realm with Luna's help the first-time and... my family the second time," I say while glancing at the mane six and the Crusaders.
"Aww," they all said at the same time.
"We think the elements of harmony hold the key to freeing him from her, but we can't figure out how to use them without blasting poor Mex here." Pinkie said.
Shining thought to himself for a while before looking at me and saying.
"Mex? Can I have a quick word privately?"
"Sure," I say.
Shining and I walk a bit away from the group and he turns to me.
"Mex, be straight with me, what is the likelihood of Pholmo taking control of your body? In case-" I cut him off.
"You have to put me down?"
Shining looked shocked and began stuttering.
"W-what? N-no1 o-o-o-of course no-" I cut him off again.
"Oh please Shining, private chat? Soldier to soldier? Away from the others? I'd be asking the same thing in your position. You have your people to protect but trust me when I say, I would rather die... again... before letting that happen." I say with a steely resolve with matching eyes.
Shining nodded in sincerity.
"But, let's make sure that doesn't happen either, right?" Shining says.
"Of course, I say, I love it here and I love my new friends," I said.
"Huh, who'd have guessed it, a guardian with genuine friends?" I thought to myself.
"Boys?" Twilight called out to us.
"Coming Twily!" Shining called back and we made our way back to the others.
"What were you two talking about?" Twilight asked.
"Oh, uh, nothing much, soldier to soldier stuff... right Mex?" Shining said looking at me.
"Oh! Yeah of course! Shining uh... invited me out for a few drinks once I get free of Pholmo." I say with a smile.
"What?! Shining! He's only a colt!" Cadance said.
"Uh, actually, I'm like 30 years old and-" I say before getting cut off.
"No no! I said we'd get cupcakes together" Shining said nervously chuckling.
"Oh! Right! Yeah! Cupcakes! My mistake hehe." I said.
Cadance and Twilight raised an eyebrow at us but then continued.
"Well, any ideas?" Twilight said.
Twilight mentioned the Tree of Harmony, where the elements are. I wonder if I could go there and just see what happens.
"I'd like to see the Tree of Harmony if I could," I say.
"Why? Did you have an idea?" Rainbow Dash said.
"Not exactly, I just think it might reveal itself when I see the Elements of Harmony," I reply.
"And I think the Crusaders should join me" I add.
"Well okay, Rainbow? Could you please go and help the girls get ready for a trip to the Cave and then bring them back here in an hour or sooner?" Twilight said.
"Uh-huh!" Rainbow said as she flew off to find the Crusaders.
Spike groans and holds his stomach, and then burps out a pillar of green flame, a scroll materializes from the flame and lands on the floor.
"Have to ask Spike how that whole thing works later," I say to myself.
Twilight floats the scroll up and quickly reads it.
"Okay, the Princesses are updated, Spike, could you reply to Princess Celestia and let her know of Mex's idea to use the Elements?" Twilight asked Spike.
"Sure thing!" Spike says and begins writing again.
"Everypony else, get yourselves ready for the trip," Twilight adds.
"Cadance and Shining, I'm sorry this isn't a normal visit again but, would you like to come with us?" Twilight asked.
"Sure! We'd love a good hike" Shining said after checking with Cadance quickly.
"Alright everypony! Let's meet at the front of the castle in one hour." Twilight said.
Standing at the front of the castle, in the distance, I can see four ponies hurriedly running up to the door. They are the Crusaders and Rainbow Dash.
The Crusaders run up to me and I to them.
"Hey Mex! We heard you had an idea how to maybe help you?" Apple Bloom said hugging me.
"Yeah, I think so, maybe, possibly... I have no idea for sure, but it's the only thing I've got. Well actually I had another idea but Twilight and the others shot that down pretty quickly..." I say returning the hug and seeing Rainbow crossing her hooves with a disapproving look on her face.
"Really? What was the idea?" Scootaloo asked.
"He wanted us to blast him with The Elements! We told him he's crazy!" Rainbow added
"What?!" They all said together.
"Thanks, Rainbow..." I say jokingly.
"Mex! What could that possibly do?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Well, I heard that spell rescued Princess Luna from Nightmare Moon and I figured it could do the same with Pholmo. I still think it's the best chance but they won't do it." I reply.
"And we never will!"
"And we would never let you do it anyway!" Scootaloo said.
"You may not have a choice," I think to myself.
"Heh, I suppose so, I'm so lucky to have found you all," I say out loud.
Rainbow Dash gives my mane a scruffle and ushers us towards the door.
"Everypony ready?" Twilight said, getting nods in return.
"Alright, let's go!" Applejack said.
After a 30-minute hike, we reach the castle. Throughout the entire trip, my friends and I were talking about the crusading we were going to do once I was free. In fact, the more I talked with them, laughed with them, and planned with them, the more I realised that without them, I couldn't do this alone.
After going down a staircase that led to a cave, Twilight stepped up to me.
"Okay Mex, this is it, the Tree of Harmony is in this cave."
I turn to the cave and take a deep breath and turn to the others.
"You all don't have to come with me if you don't want to you know."
"Are you kiddin? O course we're all comin!" Applejack said.
"Yeah, kid! We've got your back!" Rainbow Dash said.
"You're stuck with us Mex, always," Twilight said smiling and giving me a quick hug.
"Alright, let's go," I said.
We all walk into the cave and follow it along until we come across a giant crystal-like tree, with colored gems adorning the ends of each branch along with crystal baubles surrounding each colored gem.
"There it is. The Tree of Harmony." Applejack said.
The other crusaders and I stared at the tree with wonder and amazement, many "Oohs" and "Ahhs" were heard as we all looked at this stunning tree.
"Wow! Look at that tree!" Apple Bloom said.
"It's gorgeous!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Whoa!" Was all Scootaloo said.
After looking up at the tree with my friends by my side I slowly began to make a realisation. Every time I faced Pholmo since being here in Equestria, I had at least one or all of my friends right there by my side. They were the ones who stood by and fought by my side.
Almost as if reacting to my thoughts, the tree glowed, and at the same time, everypony there with me began to glow as well.
"What's happening? Apple Bloom said.
Before anypony could respond, my head began to glow a deep green, and Pholmo's screech could be heard throughout the cave. A blinding flash of the same green caused everypony to shield their eyes for a moment.
There, before us, was a projection of Pholmo, bearing her claws in all of their fury.
"Watch out! She's here!" I yell.
The Crusaders scream and hide behind their sisters as the girls and I take a combative stance.
"Pholmo! Your opponent is ME!" I yell.
Pholmo turns to me and screeches before charging at me and swiping her claws. I duck and roll under them joining up with the others who prepare to fight.
"Wait!" yelled Twilight.
"I don't think she's actually here; I think it's a manifestation of some kind, being near the Tree of Harmony must have forced her to appear." She added.
"She's still dangerous! Please friends! Be careful!" I call out.
"We will! Everypony! Let's go and help Mex! You three, stay here and away from her!" Rainbow Dash said to the Crusaders.
"No! We have to help Mex!" Sweetie Belle said.
"No! It's too dangerous! As soon as we can, we're sendin him back here with you three as well." Applejack said.
"But Applejack!" Apple Bloom said.
"I'm serious you three, stay here!" Applejack replied before rushing to help her friends.
Pholmo screeches and flies towards me swiping several times at me, dodging and weaving while I was being backed up against a wall, the final dodge was a roll under her.
"She's after me! Keep your distance and-" I was cut off by a successful swipe to my chest, lightly cutting me. I grunt in pain a little.
"Mex!" Twilight said.
"Come on girls!" Rainbow Dash said before zooming up to Pholmo with a flying hoof kick only to pass straight through.
"What the hay?" Rainbow said.
"I can't touch her!" She added.
"No! She's only here for me," I say.
Blow after blow, strike after strike, the battle ensues with the girls standing helplessly on the side.
"Grrrr! I can't stand this!" Scootaloo said.
"Our friends fighting for his life and wellbeing out there and we can't do anything!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yes, we can!" Apple Bloom said.
"Huh?" Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle said together.
"We can cheer him on! We can't physically help him, but we can encourage him! Come on!" Apple Bloom replied.
The girls step a few meters closer and say.
"Come on Mex!" Apple Bloom said.
"We believe in you!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Kick her tail!" Scootaloo said.
I look over at my friends cheering me on and then back at Pholmo when it all clicks. "My friends!" I think to myself.
A white aura appears around the Crusaders as their cheers fill my mind.
"My friends will always be there for me Pholmo! And together through spirit, their friendship gives me strength!" I say.
The Tree of Harmony glows again, and I can feel the connection all of my friends have with me. This feeling of friendship begins to well up from deep within me and mixes with my light. The crusader's glow increases in intensity and fires a beam of multi-colored light at Pholmo, while a beam of purple and white light streams from me.
Pholmo screeches in response. Trying to move away.
But, it's too much and she is disintegrated in front of everypony in a blinding flash.
"What just happened?" Apple Bloom said.
"I don't know! It all happened so fast!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Well done, Mex!" A voice echoed around the cave spoke.
"Huh?" Everypony said at the same time.
An apparition of myself in human form appears in front of me.
"Hey! Who or what are you?!" Applejack yelled in a combative stance.
"Wait everypony!" I say.
I walk up to the figure and say.
"Are you who I think you are?" I say to the apparition.
The Apparition just smiles and nods.
I turn to face Twilight.
"Twilight? Remember how you said during our training/study lessons that you'd like to meet The Traveler?"
Twilight nods.
"Well, Twilight Sparkle and everypony, meet, The Traveler."
Everypony gasps and their jaws fall to the floor.
"A pleasure to meet all of you, Guardian, I will not stay for long, I have guided you to your new friends, and together you have rid yourself of Pholmo for good this time."
"I figured you wouldn't be staying; I don't suppose you'll be around though? In case something like this happens again?"
"No Mex, I was never going to interfere with your new life here at all, but under the circumstances, I had no choice." The Traveler said.
"Even though you do not have access to your guardian powers anymore, you are blessed with something even greater." The Traveler added.
"What's that?" I ask.
"I'll let you discover that for yourself, I will be sealing the connection between our worlds permanently, go forth now, and live your new life without worry, farewell for good Mex." The Traveler said as he began to vanish.
"Traveler wait! Thank you! Thank you for this! I'll always be eternally grateful!" I call out just as he vanishes completely.
I turn to my friends and smile, they smile back.
"This is it, isn't it?" I say.
The others turn to each other, clearly confused.
"What do you mean Mex?" Sweetie Belle said.
"I'm free of Pholmo, thanks to all of you. And I couldn't be more thank-" I cut myself off, I choked up.
The Crusaders walk up to me and embrace me, Applejack put a hood on my shoulder and smiled.
"Y'know Sugarcube. There's no need ta hide your feelings, what were you gonna say?"
I look up at all of my friends and smile.
"I understand now, I understand friendship, Pholmo was a mountain I could not climb alone, without all of you, who knows where I'd be right now," I say while hugging the Crusaders.
"The Magic of Friendship is the most powerful magic of all, and you've only just begun your journey into discovering it," Twilight said.
"But you've got some pretty awesome tutors you know!" Rainbow Dash said causing everypony to chuckle.
"Come on y'all, let's go back to Ponyville." Applejack said.
"Oh my gosh! We totally need a "Saving Mex From That Awful And Mean Pholmo" party when we get back!" Pinkie said bouncing up and down in circles around the group.
"Now! About the matter of your sneaky little payment young colt!" Rarity said.
"I-I have no idea what you are talking about Rarity!" I said with a "totally innocent" smile.
"Oh, you! Listen here little colt! You will take your payment back! I insist" Rarity said playfully and started to chase me around the cave with me running.
More laughs from my friends ensue as we make our way out of the cave and back home.
"Huh, home." I thought to myself.
"I have a true home now, friends who care, well, more friends who care; Kai? Demi? Fight on, sharpen your light and kick some Hive ass!" I think while smiling to myself.
"Hey! Mex! You there?" Pinkie Pie said while walking backward in front of me.
"Huh?" I said looking around to meet the concerned faces of my friends.
"Oh yeah, sorry, I was just thinking a thousand things at once, what'd you say Pinkie?"
"That's okay! I think a thousand things at once all the time! Anyway! What's your favorite cake flavor and favorite colour? I gotta get set up for your party tonight!" Pinkie said.
"Cake? You mean cupcakes?" I reply.
"No silly! Normal cake!" Pinkie Replied.
Apple Bloom and Applejack gasp and look at each other.
"Oh no." Applejack said.
"Uh, I've never had normal cake before so I'm not sure what-" I say before getting cut off by Apple Bloom.
"Uhh, his favorite is chocolate!" Apple Bloom said.
"Probably," she said under her breath.
"Okey dokey lokey!" Pinkie said bouncing alongside us again.
I turn to Apple Bloom and shrug my shoulders in a "What was that?" kind of way.
"Just trust me; it's better this way. I have no idea how Pinkie will react if she learns you've never had cake before." Apple Bloom answered.
"MEX HAS NEVER HAD CAKE BEFORE?!" Pinkie shouts.

Hey everypony! Sorry, this one took longer than usual; I was pretty sick for a while there and haven't been able to write as much or at all as usual.
But I am feeling much better now and I can finally get back to writing! So, the story of Pholmo has come to an end but it was never going to be the main focus of my little story here, Pholmo was an introductory problem for Mex and his friends to get over together and teach Mex the importance of friendship.
