My New Life in Equestria
Chapter 10:
"Hey Applejack? You got a sec?" I say, walking inside.
"Sure sugarcube, what cha need?" Applejack replies.
I spend a couple of minutes telling Applejack what happened in town with Nosey Pages, while Applejack keeps baking some pies.
"Hmm, an interview huh?" Applejack said while rubbing her chin with her hoof.
"I don't see a problem with it, but you should ask Twilight to be sure."
I nod my head and smile.
"Thanks Applejack, I'll do just that," I say.
I arrive at Twilight's castle and knock on the giant doors.
Spike answers the door and his eyes light up.
"Hey Mex! Here to get a few tips on Ogres and Oubliettes before the camping trip?" Spike said.
"Oh, that does sound like a good idea Spike, but I'm here to see Twilight for a personal reason," I reply.
"Oh, she's in the library," Spike said.
I chuckle out loud.
"Of course she is, where else is she?" I say with a laugh.
Spike laughed as well and waved me over to follow him to the library.
"Twilight? Mex is here!" Spike said as we walked into the room.
Twilight looked up from her book and smiled, she stood up and walked over to us after putting her book away.
"Hi Mex, what can I do for you?" Twilight said.
"Well... you see," I say before telling both Spike and Twilight what happened.
"Hmm," Twilight said rubbing her chin with her hoof.
"I'm glad you came to me first before agreeing to the interview; I don't see why you shouldn't do it; I only ask that you don't talk about what happened with the Taken, okay?" She said.
I nod my head.
"Okay, thanks Twilight, I'd better get going if I hope to get back in time for our camping trip," I say.
"W- wait, you're going right now?! Do you have a sherpa to go with you?" Twilight said.
"I'll be fine, I can just fly there, and it's within eyesight of Ponyville so I won't get lost, I'll check in with Princess Celestia when I get there, see you later!" I say with a wave and teleport back to Sweet Apple Acres.
A dark purple flash of magic appears in the kitchen of the house at Sweet Apple Acres, startling Applejack.
"Oh! Mex, ya scared me sugarcube, what'd Twilight say about your interview?" Applejack said after recovering from the surprise.
"She said I can do the interview, but just to leave a few things out, like the incident about the Taken," I say.
"Oh, fair enough, when are you heading over to Canterlot hon?" Applejack said.
"Uh, right now, I'm just grabbing some bits and heading over now," I say in reply.
Applejack was about to speak when I interrupt her with the same logic used for Twilight.
"So, you see? I'll be fine! The flight will only take a few seconds and there's no way I'll get lost because I can see the city." I say.
"And remember, I'm not actually a colt," I say with a smile.
"I know sugarcube, but in this world, you are a young colt, you may as well be a kid because of your knowledge of this world." Applejack said.
"Applejack, I do appreciate your concern, but I'll be fine! I'll be back in a few hours, if I'm not back by dinner then you can form the search party, okay?" I say with a chuckle and hug Applejack.
Applejack returns the hug and smiles at me and nods.
"You come back straight after your interview, ya hear?" Applejack said.
"I'm checking in with Princess Celestia when I get there, so she'll probably assign guards to look after me until I leave, so I was gonna look around for a bit before I come home," I say.
Applejack puts on her "Big sister" face of concern and disapproval.
"But don't worry! I'll be back way before dark!" I say as I rush upstairs to the chest.
Applejack sighs deeply and chuckles to herself before returning to baking.
I grab a few hundred bits and stuff them in my coin pouch before rushing down the stairs and toward the front door.
"Bye Applejack! I'll be back later!" I call out to Applejack as I leave.
"Be safe ya hear!" I hear her call out after me.
As I burst out the front door, I see the girls walking toward the house.
"Hey Mex! Where are you going so fast?" Scootaloo said.
"Hey girls! Canterlot to do my interview and a bit of shopping, I'll be back before our time to meet up!" I say with a smile.
"Canterlot?!" Sweetie Belle said in surprise.
"And Applejack is letting you go by yourself?" Apple Bloom chimed in.
"Reluctantly!" Applejack's voice could be heard from inside the house.
"I gotta go, but I'll tell ya all about when I come back okay?" I say and unfurl my wings.
I take off into the sky and activate my "Warp Flight" *patent pending*, and a loud boom is heard as I vanish from sight in a warp window.
"Wow, I don't think I'll ever get used to seeing that." Apple Bloom said.
Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo both nod their heads while staring at the visual effect left over from the warp window.
A loud boom is heard over Canterlot city and a similar warp window is formed overhead as I arrive a few moments after I said goodbye to the girls.
Ponies gasp and look to the sky as they see me zip past overhead towards the castle, still with the glittering after-effects from the warp window trailing behind me.
I arrive at Canterlot Castle and approach a guard.
"Hello? I'm here to see Princess Celestia, she doesn't know I'm coming but she'll know my name." I say.
The guard is about to speak and then seemingly notices that I am an alicorn, he stumbles a bit and then says.
"Oh! Are you Mex? We were told to keep an eye out for you a few days ago, just in case you came to visit the Princesses. This way please."
I follow the guard into the main chamber of the castle where I see Princess Celestia addressing some ponies.
"Please wait here for a moment." The guard says before approaching the Princess and whispering into her ear and gesturing over to me.
Princess Celestia looks over to me and gets a big smile on her face and waves me over.
I walk over to Princess Celestia and bow.
"Hello Princess Celestia, I hope I'm not intruding," I say.
"Oh, not at all Mex, what can I do for you?" Princess Celestia says.
I tell her that I promised Applejack to check in with her and quickly let her know about the interview.
"Oh, I see, will you be alright by yourself in Canterlot?" Princess Celestia said.
"Yep, I have an incredible sense of direction!" I say with a smile, earning a chuckle from the Princess.
"Alright, if you need directions, seek out a guard and ask them, okay?" Celestia said.
"Will do! Bye Princess!" I say and bow again before leaving.
The guard escorts me back to the entrance and after getting some directions from him I make my way to The Canterlot Chronicle.
I arrive at the building and walk inside, after talking to the receptionist who also attempted to bow to me, I told her I was here to see Nosey Pages and she nodded and asked me to wait.
Nosey Pages came barrelling downstairs to see me.
"Ah! Mister Mex! Welcome! Welcome! Shall we get started?" He said.
I nod and follow him to his office.
After the interview, where I told him all about my life as a guardian, the Light, Pholmo and a few stories about some of my missions, Nosey Pages looked at me barely holding back tears.
"So, your life came to an end in your homeland and you were sent here?" he said.
"Pretty much, and yes, I do remember the pain from it," I said while lowing my head and closing my eyes tight.
"Uh, well okay, I have more than enough for the article, thank you for your time," Nosey said.
I open my eyes and nod.
"No problem, the only thing I ask is that you don't paint me as some kind of monster," I say
"M-monster?! Why in Equestria would I do that?" Nosey said shocked.
"Because of all the living things I have killed, I know they were my enemies but, I wonder if I could have tried to make peace, farewell mister Pages," I say and nod my head before turning to leave.
Nosey Pages stood there looking a little stunned before waving goodbye.
Finished with the interview, I walk outside and ask a nearby guard where I can find the shopping district, after being pointed in the right direction, I take flight and head over to the vast array of shops.
Shops selling all kinds of things, from books to fashion, and everything in-between, I wanted to get a gift for the crusaders as well as a book for Twilight. I know what I want to get the girls, and I remember Twilight talking about a book that she'd like to add to her library but was exceptionally difficult to find. Maybe I'll ask the bookshops if they know where I can get one.
I approach a book store and ask the clerk inside, but no luck, they offer me directions to a rare book dealer that would be the best bet to have that book, so I head there.
I walk into the shop; the slight aroma of dust and old paper brings me back to the days of studying in the Tower library. I approach the clerk.
"Um, hello, I was hoping you could help me find a particular book that I understand is quite rare," I say.
The clerk looks at me and smiles.
"My my, you must be Mex, the first-ever alicorn colt, I would be delighted to assist you, young scholar. What book were you looking for?" The Stallion said.
"Uh, it's called "The Application of Theoretical Magic." and I was hoping you had a copy, or if not, could point me to where I could find one," I say.
"Ah, quite the book indeed; not many copies out there." the stallion said.
"By the way, my name is Rusty, not my real name but it's what I prefer," Rusty said.
"Nice to meet you, Rusty, so about the book?" I said looking hopeful.
Rusty chuckles.
"Yes, yes, I understand, I do indeed have a copy of The Application of Theoretical Magic, but it is quite expensive," Rusty said.
"Oh, how much is it?" I asked.
Rusty looked at me with his hoof to his chin in a "Thinking" Sort of way before speaking.
"Tell you what, if you can tell me your story on why you seek this book, I'll lower the price to an extremely affordable "Free", how's that sound?" he said while tracing his hoof in front of him in an arch motion.
"What?! Really?! Okay, deal!" I say before clearing my throat.
"I'd like to get this book as a gift for a friend of mine who has been looking for a copy to read, she hasn't been able to find one so I thought I'd be nice and see if I can get one for her," I say.
Rusty leaned in and listened intently before rising back up and smiling.
"Well, I certainly think that is a worthy cause; alright, the book is yours, do me a favour though, will you? Pass on the kindness." Rusty said with a smile.
I beam a big and bright smile.
"Yes! I will Rusty! I promise!" I say excitedly.
"Hmm, good," Rusty said with a laugh as he turned around and floated a leather binder over to the counter and unravelled it revealing the book.
"Thank you again, Rusty! I promise I will do something to spread your kindness, good sir!" I say as I float the book into my bag.
"Um, Rusty? Could you point me in the direction of a hobby shop?" I said.
"More gifts?" Rusty said with a smile.
"Yeah," I said with a slight blush.
"Five shops down to your right, they're old friends of mine and they'll help you, mention my name for a discount," Rusty said.
"Thanks, Rusty! You're a great pony!" I say as I leave the shop.
I walk into the shop, it's beautifully designed, with a fresh scent in the air, with various kinds of hobby items displayed throughout the shop that all look fun in their own ways.
I spot the clerk and approach them.
"Hello, I just came from Rusty's shop and he suggested I come here for hobby gifts, can you help me?" I say.
"Ohh, Rusty? He's such a nice stallion, I'll thank him later for sending customers my way, now, what can I help you with young colt?" The mare said.
"Well, I'm looking for gifts for my friends and I know what I'm looking for, but could you help me find them?" I say.
"Of course! Let's start with one item at a time, okay?" The mare said.
"Okay, firstly, I'm looking for something for a daredevil friend of mine who likes to test her limits and ride her scooter, so I was thinking of an upgrade kit for her scooter," I say.
"Okay, how about these?" The mare said after showing me a set of four brand-new high-quality tires for a scooter and some handlebars that have a better grip.
"Perfect! Now I also need a crochet kit with instructions on the basics." I say.
"Oh, that one's easy, over here." The mare said handing me one with everything I asked for.
"It's perfect for Sweetie Belle," I think to myself.
"Now the last thing I need is an intermediate potion kit, for brewing higher levels potions," I say.
"Ah, well, unfortunately, I don't sell potion kits, but the shop across the street does, I'm sure they'll help you out." The mare said.
"Oh, okay; thanks for all your help," I say with a smile.
"No problem! Since Rusty sent you, I'll give you a discount, normally these would be about 55 bits, but how about I do them for 45 bits instead?" The mare said.
"That's perfect! Thank you so much for your help and the discount!" I say with genuine happiness and a big beaming smile.
After paying, I head across the street and pick out an amazing potion kit for Apple Bloom that was on sale, only 20 bits! I float all of my things behind me and take off toward the castle.
I tell the Princess that I'm heading back to Ponyville and thank her again for her help. I step outside and open a warp window and fly into it, arriving back at Sweet Apple Acres in a matter of seconds. I walk inside to see Applejack still baking.
"Hey! I'm back! You still baking Applejack?" I say.
Applejack turns to me and smiles and sighs in a relieved sort of way.
"Yep, nearly done though." Applejack said.
"I told ya I'd be fine, didn't I?" I say with an admittedly cheeky smile.
"Yeah yeah," Applejack said with a smile and eye roll.
"There's still plenty of daylight left, so go on and meet up with your friends." She continued.
"Okay! I got the girls some presents so I gotta go give them to them!" I say.
"Oh, that's very sweet and thoughtful of you Mex, I'm proud of you." Applejack said.
"Thanks sis- uh, I mean Applejack, that means a lot," I say blushing a bit and run off towards Twilight's Castle.
Knocking on Twilights castle door, Spike once again answers the door and waves me in.
"Hey Mex, Twilight's-" Spike said.
"In the library." We both say together.
We both chuckled and he led me to the library where Twilight looks up from her book.
"Oh, hello Mex, what can I do for you? I thought you'd still be getting ready to go to Canterlot." Twilight said.
"Oh, no, I'm already back from Canterlot," I say.
Twilight is taken aback a bit and looks confused.
"I can warp fly remember?" I say after a moment.
"Oh! Right, that concept is still new to us ponies so forgive the forgetfulness, anyway, what can I do for you?" Twilight said.
"Well, I got you a present while I was in Canterlot, for helping me and always being there for me, I could only carry so much so I could only get yours and the Crusaders present this time around," I say.
"Oh, that's very sweet of you Mex, but you didn't have to," Twilight said.
"I know, but I wanted to," I say with a smile and take out the book.
"Now, I remember you saying you wanted a copy of this book but couldn't find one, well I found one for you," I say and show her the copy of The Application of Theoretical Magic.
Twilight gasps and leaps up off her chair with a surprised expression on her face.
"W- What?! How? How did you find this?" Twilight said after taking the book in her magic and opens it to the first page.
"Just some good luck is all, I'm glad you like it," I say.
"Like it?! No, I love it! Thank you so much Mex! Come here you!" Twilight said as she picked me up in her magic and hugged me tightly.
"Wow." I think to myself. I truly am a friend to these ponies; I couldn't have asked for a better new life.
Twilight lets me go and I smile at her.
"Well, I'd better get going and meet up with the Crusaders, enjoy the book!" I say and leave.
"Alright, thanks again Mex!" Twilight said calling out to me.
I head over to the clubhouse and can hear the girls giggling inside as I walk up the ramp.
"Hey girls! I'm back from Canterlot!" I say as I walk in.
"Hey Mex! How did your-" Sweetie Belle said before cutting herself off as she saw things being floated down to each girl.
"What's this?" Apple Bloom said.
"Presents, from Canterlot, you girls mean so much to me, being my first true friends," I say with a blush.
"Awwwwe!" The girls say together with a tear in their eyes.
"Thank you Mex!" Apple Bloom said while hugging me.
"This is so thoughtful and sweet, thank you Mex!" Sweetie Belle said and joined the hug.
"Wow! What they said!" Scootaloo said and also joined the hug.
After a solid thirty seconds of tight hugging, the girls check out what I got them, more surprise and tears later and we found ourselves back into another group hug for another thirty seconds.
"Oh wow! Now I can learn more advanced potions with Twilight! I only have one more potion to learn and I've finished the beginner kit." Apple Bloom said.
"With these new parts, I can go even faster!" Scootaloo said.
"Oh! It comes with instructions! Yay!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Thank you Mex!" The girls together.
"No, thank you, girls," I say while hugging them again.
It's early morning the next day, and I lie awake in my bed thinking about an idea I had a few days ago. I wanted to create a spell that could carry lots of luggage with minimal effort, so I spent a few hours last night trying to perfect it, I call it Other Dimensional Storage or ODS for short.
I decided to try it again now that I've woken up a bit fresher than after a long day and tired and to my surprise, I did it! The spell activated and I was able to store a small rock and retrieve it a few minutes later. Through my excitement, I forgot that today was camping trip day!
I hop out of bed and pack my things into my ODS spell and go downstairs where Applejack is already awake and looks up to say hi to me.
"Hey ya Mex, you packed and ready fer your trip?" She said.
"Yep! I have all of my stuff in a spell I made, at least I think I made it." I say.
"You... think you made it?" She replied.
"Yeah, like, I'm fairly sure nopony else has made a spell like this before," I reply.
"What's it do exactly?" Applejack asks.
"Well, it opens a small pocket dimension that I can use for storing large amounts of things or bulky items, theoretically, there wouldn't be a limit to how much it could store," I say.
Applejack looks confused and shakes her head in confusion.
"Huh?" She said after a few seconds.
"Here, I'll just show you," I say, I activated the spell and reach in to grab my saddle bag and then put it on, afterwards the spell deactivates.
"See?" I say.
"W-wha?! How, what? Where'd your bag come from?!" Applejack sputtered out.
I chuckle and reply.
"From the pocket dimension remember? Using this, I can store whatever I want and call on it later." I say.
"T-that's crazy! Have you showed Twilight this spell of yours?" Applejack asked.
"N-no, I only just perfected it this morning," I say.
"Come with me." Applejack said.
"O-okay, I don't think Twilight will be up this early though," I say.
"She'll forgive the early wake up for this, trust me." Applejack said while leading me out the door.
As we get into town, we pass Rarity and Sweetie Belle going for a sisterly walk.
"Hi Mex and Applejack! What are you two doing in town this early? I thought breakfast wasn't for another 20 minutes." Rarity said.
"Mex just invented a spell that I think Twilight will want to know about before he leaves for his camping trip." Applejack said.
"He did? What kind of spell?" Sweetie Belle said.
"You're welcome to come with us to see Twilight, it did my head in when he explained it to me." Applejack said.
The sisters look at each other and shrug before following us to Twilights Castle. Sweetie Belle looks at me as we walk and I give her a shrug as I don't really understand what's happening either.
We arrive at Twilights Castle and knock on the door; Spike answers and says.
"You two are here early too huh?" He said with a chuckle inviting us all in.
"Mex? I thought I was meeting you guys at the farm for the trip." Spike added.
"Yeah, I'm not sure why but Applejack brought me to see Twilight," I say.
We all walk to the kitchen where we see all of the other adult ponies gathering around and chatting and giggling away. They all smile at our entrance.
"Oh, hi girls! Looks like we're doing breakfast a little early, so-" Twilight said but stopped herself when she noticed Sweetie Belle and me.
"Oh, hello Sweetie Belle, Mex, is everything alright?" She said.
"Hey Twi, yep, everything's dandy, Mex here just made something you really need to see." Applejack said.
Twilight looked at me with a raised eyebrow and a cocked head and said.
"Oh? What'd you make Mex?" Twilight said.
"Would you mind doing that spell for Twilight and the others Mex?" Applejack said.
"Uh, sure. I'm not in trouble a-am I?" I said a little worried.
"Oh, no, don't worry sugarcube, you're not in trouble I think you've just done something amazing." Applejack said.
All eyes were on me as I cast the ODS spell again and the little window opened up once more.
A gasp was heard through the room and then confusion.
Twilight looks surprised and then walked closer to study the window.
"What is it?" She said after a few seconds.
"It's my new spell that I made, I call it Other Dimensional Storage or ODS for short; It allows me to store a vast amount of or bulky things and lets me retrieve them whenever I want," I explain.
"See?" I say as I reach into the window and pull out my tent.
Gasps were heard again as the tent seemingly appeared out of nowhere, Twilight was floored with her mouth hanging open.
"But, how did, when, what?!" She sputtered out.
"I got the idea from the Taken, see the leaders of the Taken have their own pocket dimension that they have absolute control over, so I used that concept and integrated magic to it and made this spell," I explain.
"T-this is incredible! No, this is unbelievable! This could change the world!" Twilight said.
"Huh? What do you mean? I thought something like this might be commonplace." I say.
"Oh no! If this spell was available to everypony, think of things like." Twilight said before pointing to Applejack.
"Apple order deliveries could be just loaded into a spell and it doesn't weigh anything because it's in a spell!" Twilight said.
"Or." She turned to Rarity.
"You could use it to store a bunch of materials that you've picked up and it would be easier to carry," Twilight said.
Everypony seemed to understand now and excited chatter began to circulate the room.
"Do you understand what you've just invented now Mex?" Twilight said after turning to me with an excited face and a beaming smile.
"I- I think so," I reply.
"Mex, please, before you go on your trip, could you write down the spell you use to conjure the ODS?" Twilight said.
"Uh, I can't write very well yet because I haven't been to school. But I can say the spell to Spike and he can write it for me?" I say while turning to Spike who pulls out a quill and paper.
A few minutes go by and I thank Spike for his help and I float the page over to Twilight who eagerly takes the scroll and studies it.
"Hold on Twilight, aren't we supposed to be having breakfast here? Can't you study the spell after?" Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh, right, of course," Twilight said and set the scroll on the table.
"Well anyway, I need to head back to the farmhouse to get ready for Discord, see you later everypony!" I say and begin to make my way back.
"Oh, girls? I'll be right back, I'll just take Sweetie Belle and the supplies back to the boutique, won't be long darlings." Rarity said.
"Oh, no problem Rarity, I can walk her back and I can store the supplies with the ODS, stay and have some breakfast with your friends," I say with a smile.
"Oh, how sweet of you, I appreciate it very much." Rarity replied.
I cast the spell again and help Sweetie Belle load the supplies into it before heading off towards the Carousel Boutique.
"Wow Mex! That spell is amazing! Do you think I could use it as well?" Sweetie said.
"Oh, I'm sure you could, would you like me to teach you it one day?" I reply.
"Yeah! That'd be sweet!" She said.
"Sweet like a Sweetie Belle?" I said and followed up with a laugh.
Sweetie Belle laughed as well and followed up with a playful groan at the terrible joke.
After unloading Rarity's supplies at the Boutique and saying goodbye to Sweetie Belle, I head back to the farm and decide to have a coffee while I wait for Discord and Spike to arrive as well as Big Mac to get ready.
While I sip on my coffee, I think back to everything that has led me to this point. From my rebirth as a guardian to another rebirth as a pony. Doing this, of course, led to me missing my fireteam, Demi's antics in the waiting room for the crucible, Kai pretending not to laugh but actually he finds it just as hilarious.
They were combat friends for sure, but I could never open up to them as I could with the Crusaders, or any of them if I needed to. Maybe after the camping trip, I should talk to Applejack about it. There sure were some horrors on those missions but I'd do them again any time if it meant protecting the city and my fireteam.
My thoughts were disrupted when Big Mac came downstairs with his luggage and gave his patented nod of greeting.
"Good morning Big Mac! Ready for this camping trip?" I see, not even trying to hide my excitement.
"Eyup!" He said with determination and a smile.
"Great! I can't wait to learn this game that you and the others wanna show me, it sounds like a lot of fun from what Spike briefly told me." I say.
"Eyup!" Big Mac said along with a nod and smile.
There was a knock at the door and Big Mac went to answer it, it was Spike, and he was dressed up in an outfit that strongly resembled a wizard.
"Hey, you two! You ready to go?" Spike said, clearly beaming with excitement.
"Oh yeah! I was just telling Big Mac that I can't wait to learn this game of yours!" I say.
"Oh, you'll love it! It's all about using your imagination and-" Spike said but was cut off by a flash of light, leaving Discord in its wake.
"Hello, fellow campers! Are we ready to party?" Discord said while a party hat appeared on his head, while he was waving Ogres and Oubliettes flags and confetti popped behind him.
"Hey Discord, we're set! Where are we going?" Spike said.
"To a fantastic place, perfect for camping and relaxing." Discord said, seemingly proud of his words.
"Oh, just a sec, I'm gonna say goodbye to the Apples," I say and quickly rush into the kitchen where the Apple ladies were sitting around the table.
"We're off! Back in a few days, love you guys bye!" I say and book it towards the door.
Discord snaps his lion paw and we were all teleported away.
"Did you hear that Applejack?" Granny said.
"Hear what Granny?" Applejack said.
"He told us he loved us!" Apple Bloom said with a smile.
Applejack turned her head from the stove and smiled.
"Yes, yes he did, didn't he?" Applejack said quietly to herself.
We arrived at the camping site and were all stunned at its beauty, a waterfall off in the distance casting a full rainbow in front of it, wide-open fields to the left and a beautiful forest to the right.
There is only one word for the sight in front of us, "Tranquillity."
"Well, here we are!" Discord said while taking a "Demonstration" stance with his arms open like he's displaying the whole area.
"Wow Discord, how did you find this place?" Spike said.
"Find? Oh no no my dear scaly friend, I made this place." Discord said.
"What?!" Spike and I said together, with Big Mac taking on an equally shocked expression.
"Yes, I made it to bring Fluttershy for when we have a picnic, sadly, we haven't had the chance to do that yet." Discord said somewhat sad.
"Oh, well I'm sure you'll get the chance soon," I say with a wink.
"Anyway, let's set up camp and the game board!" Spike said.
"Right, one second," I say and cast my ODS spell and proceed to pull out my brand-new camping equipment, instantly earning a gaze from Discord.
"What the- What is that?" Discord said while pointing to the ODS window.
"That's my new spell! Other Dimensional Storage or ODS for short" I reply.
"Interesting, very interesting indeed." Discord said stroking his beard.
"This is very impressive Mex, the ponies hadn't figured out dimensional magic yet, and you just whip up a spell in a day?! You really could be my apprentice you know." Discord said.
We all share a chuckle as I help Big Mac set up the tents. I go off to gather some firewood and set up a fireplace, something I hadn't done in a long time. I ignite the fire with my solar light and it burns away, I collected plenty of firewood so we can just keep it going the whole time we're here.
Spike had set up the game board nearby my fire when he calls us all over.
"Alright, are you ready to enter the world of Ogres and Oubliettes?" He said.

Wow! I'm sorry this has taken a while; I've been super busy lately and haven't had the same amount of free time I used to but I write whenever I have inspiration and free time.
This chapter was more focused on the "Slice of Life" than others, but the next chapter will be more focused on some of the more emotional scaring that you'd expect from an ex-guardian. So, we'll be diving down that rabbit hole next time. Thanks for your time to read this little project of mine!
