Chapter 9: Revenge In The Gallopolis Desert
Klonoa and Hero 8 arrives at the Gallopolis Desert. They saw a brown condor with a white head and white wings flying towards a tall pinpoint mountain.
Hero 8: There's a Garuda.
Hero 8 looks at the photos of the Garuda and a white mushroom-like creature with a red top called a Funghoul.
Hero 8: I need those monsters so we can fight the Subspace Army. Slime can't do it alone.
Klonoa: Alright. You lead the way.
Hero 8 summons Slime and he and Klonoa made their way to the mountain, where they came across some Pot Scorpions and Soldier Heartless. Klonoa uses his Wind Hammer to smash the Pot Scorpions with his hammer, while Hero 8 uses Kasizzle on the Soldier Heartless. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the next area, dodging some Dark Wisps, until they stopped by a series of spikes on the ground.
Klonoa: Now how do we cross over the spikes?
Hero 8: We should fly over them.
Klonoa flaps his long ears to fly across the spikes, while Hero 8 uses Kaswoosh to create a tornado to send him flying across the spikes. They made it to the next area, where they got ambushed by some Air Pirates and Pot Scorpions. Slime uses Mega Magic to take out all the Heartless. Klonoa and Hero 8 proceeds to the next area. They broke through a series of blocks that leads to a tunnel with an elevator. They used the elevator and it takes them up a cliff, where they got attacked by red tower-like Heartless called Bolt Towers.
Klonoa: What are those Heartless?
Hero 8: They are called Bolt Towers. Watch out for their lasers and shockwave attacks.
The Bolt Towers slammed their bodies on the ground to create shockwaves, but Klonoa and Hero 8 easily dodged their attacks. One of the Bolt Towers used it's laser to grab Klonoa, but Hero 8 uses Kaboom to make the Bolt Towers explode, freeing Klonoa. They proceed to the next area, where they encountered more Air Pirates and Crescendos. Klonoa uses his Wind Bullets on the Air Pirates, while Slime uses Sizzle on the Crescendos. They took out the Heartless and came across a series of platforms in a canyon.
Klonoa: Now how do we cross over this canyon?
Hero 8: We jump over those platforms to cross over.
They jumped over to the platforms, which as soon as they landed, the platforms started shrinking. They jumped over to other platforms, which also started sinking. They repeated the process, while also dodging the Dark Wisps, until they reached the end of the canyon and entered a tunnel. The tunnel has a huge lake of lava and some more platforms.
Klonoa: Great! Now we have a lake of lave to cross over?
Hero 8: Look on the bright side. At least there are more platforms to jump over.
They jumped over a series of more platforms over the lava lake and reached the end, where they got attacked by the Heat Sabers. There was also a series of fire pillars in the tunnel. Hero 8 uses Kacrackle Slash to do an icy slash on the Heat Sabers, taking them out. Klonoa saw a button on the ceiling and jumps over to press it, deactivating the flame pillars. Klonoa and Hero 8 proceeds through the tunnel until they got ambushed by some Wyverns. Klonoa takes out the Wyverns with his Wind Sword and he and Hero 8 jumps down the pit and proceeds to the next room, where they got ambushed by Shadow Heartless and red versions of Yellow Operas called Red Nocturnes.
Klonoa: Look out! An ambush!
Hero 8: At least those are really weak Heartless, so they should be easy to take out.
The Red Nocturnes used Fire to shoot fireballs at Klonoa and Hero 8, but they easily dodged their attacks. Klonoa grabs the Shadow Heartless with his Wind Ring and threw them at other Shadow Heartless, while Hero 8 uses Kacrackle on the Red Nocturnes. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the next room, where they encountered some Trackballs and Clay Armors. Klonoa hits the Trackballs to take out the Clay Armors. He and Hero 8 proceeds to the next room with a big platform and two floating platforms, where they got ambushed by more Red Nocturnes, Heat Sabers, and Bouncywilds.
Klonoa: Oh come on! How many more Heartless are there?
Slime uses Mega Magic to take out all the Heartless. Klonoa and Hero 8 proceeds to a huge room with a big platform with three floating platforms. They went on the platform and it moves up, where they got ambushed by more Red Nocturnes and Wyverns. Klonoa threw his Wind Boomerang at the Red Nocturnes, while Hero 8 uses Dragon Slash to slash the Wyverns with dragon energy in his sword. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the next room with an elevator. The elevator takes them up to the front of a temple inside the mountain. There is also dark clouds outside.
Klonoa: What is this place?
Hero 8: It's called the Gallopolis Ruins. The Luminary once traveled here a long time ago.
Klonoa: So why are we here?
Hero 8: I heard that there is a powerful treasure that could help us defeat the Subspace Army. This has to be the way.
?: Sorry, kids. But you made it this far!
They looked up to see someone jump down at them. The two boys leapt out of the way. Dracula is right in front of them.
Dracula: So we meet again. This time, I won't let any of you escape.
Klonoa and Hero 8 gasps. They knew Dracula. It was the same one who kidnapped Pac-Man and Chrono.
Klonoa: Dracula, you're the one who is finished! Hand over Pac-Man and Chrono right now!
Dracula: Is that so? Sorry, but I don't have them. But I won't leave the two of you alive.
Hero 8: Dracula, we are going to stop you! We won't let you turn anyone else into trophies!
Klonoa and Hero 8 stood up and got in their stances.
Dracula: Oh please! You're not members of the Belmont Clan. You can't beat me. I might as well turn you two into trophies and be done with it.
Hero 8: Klonoa, get ready!
The battle begins with Klonoa using his Wind Bullet to fire a Charge Shot at Dracula, doing some damage to him. Dracula uses Pillars of Flame to summon flame pillars under Klonoa, doing some damage to him. Hero 8 uses Kazapple on Dracula, doing some more damage to him. Dracula uses Dark Inferno to summon dark fiery orbs to attack Hero 8, doing some damage to him. Slime uses Sizzle on Dracula, doing some more damage to him. Dracula uses Bat Rush to transform into a swarm of bats to attack Slime, doing some damage to it.
Klonoa: It's no good! This vampire is too powerful!
Hero 8: Then we may have to finish him off quick!
Hero 8 uses Gigaslash to charge up his Dragovian King Sword with electricity and delivers a powerful slash at Dracula, doing alot of damage to him.
Hero 8: That was for my friend, Chrono!
Then Klonoa uses Tornado Attack to spin his body to create many tornadoes to attack Dracula, doing alot more damage to him.
Klonoa: This is for you, Pac-Man!
The last attack sent Dracula flying in the air.
Dracula: This can't be! How could I lose to some brats? AAAAAHHHHH!
He disappears into the sky and came down in trophy form. Hero 8 calls back Slime and did a high-five with Klonoa.
Hero 8: We did it!
Klonoa: We showed Dracula who's boss!
Then Klonoa remembers Pac-Man and looks around for him. But his trophy is nowhere in sight.
Klonoa: I wish Pac-Man was here.
He looks down in sadness. Hero 8 puts his hand on his shoulder.
Hero 8: Don't worry, Klonoa. We'll find him.
Then there was a noise from the temple that made them jump.
Klonoa: There's something in there!
Hero 8: We have to go in there and find the treasure. Follow me, Klonoa.
Klonoa nods and they entered the ruins. Meanwhile, back at Wily's Castle, Wily was busy looking at the trophies he has taken from Dracula. He had just finished dusting off the Pac-Man trophy.
Wily: Ahh, much better. Now to place some badges for perfection.
He pulls out two skull-like badges from his sleeves and places them on Crash's nose and Pac-Man's forehead. As he was about to put one on the Tifa trophy, he realizes he was all out. The last one was on him. He sighs and takes it off and places it on Tifa.
Wily: There...better.
Then all of a sudden, rumble was heard throughout the castle. Wily looks around to see who it was. Then he saw the roof was falling on him. One part of the ceiling hits him on the head.
Wily: Ahh, what pretty birds.
He fell to the ground. As the rest of the roof fell down, Eggman and his robots leapt down and looked around.
Eggman: Hmm...Now where is that Tifa trophy?
As he and his troops looked under the rubble, he found what he was looking for.
Eggman: Ahh, there you are!
He picks up the Tifa trophy and went through a hole in the wall. Under the rubble, the Pac-Man and Crash trophies were laid on the ground and Wily was turned into a trophy as well.
That's it for chapter 9. Next time, Sonic and Cloud's group will try to save Tifa from Eggman, while Klonoa and Hero 8 will explore the Gallopolis Ruins to find the legendary treasure.
