My New Life in Equestria.
Chapter 13:
It's the morning of the sister's camping trip, I didn't sleep much, the visions of battle I keep getting are getting worse. I can't tell anypony that though, I'm just hopeful that the counsellor sessions will work and I'll get better.
I woke up at about 3 am and decided to just stay awake, I knew Applejack and the others prefer to get going earlier in the morning, at around 8. I had some time to get a combat workout in and do some tidying up around the house.
I had just finished preparing a pot of coffee and was about to grab a cup to pour some for myself and Applejack when another combat vision leaked through, this time, it was the Cabal invasion of the Tower. I wasn't there for the attack, I was off on some recon mission on the moon.
I could feel the heat of the explosions on my face, the same heat from that day. I snapped back when I heard quiet hoof steps coming towards the stairs, I quickly poured two cups of coffee and set the other one down on the table. I sat beside the cup on the other side.
"Morning Applejack," I say.
Applejack was shocked to see me awake.
"H-hey Mex, what are you doing up so-" Applejack stopped herself when she saw the other cup.
"I always repay favours," I say with a smile.
Applejack smiles and walks up to me and the cup, smooches me on the head and picks up her cup and starts drinking.
"You're literally the best Mex," Applejack said with a smirk.
We laugh together and resume drinking our coffee, after we finished, Applejack begins to say something but I am distracted by the sounds of explosions and screaming voices. Applejack does not respond in any way, so I know it's a memory leak again. I turn to Applejack.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" I say.
"I said, I heard you asked the girls to a picnic on Hearts and Hooves Day, do you know what y'all are gonna have to eat?" Applejack said.
"Oh, yeah, I have some ideas, I was gonna ask Fluttershy for some advice on what to pack," I say.
"Well, if anypony knows what to pack for a picnic, it's her," Applejack said.
I nod my head in agreement before trying to listen for the sounds again, but, nothing, thank Celestia for that.
"Hey, you need help with any of the chores before we head out to camp?" I ask.
Applejack thinks for a moment.
"Well, I suppose you could help me feed the chickens and collect the eggs." Applejack said.
"That would free me up to start breakfast, and I won't need the eggs for the first bit-" Applejack trailed off while thinking.
"Alright Sugarcube, that would be a big help, do you know how to feed them? And collect the eggs?" Applejack said.
"Yep, Apple Bloom showed me a while back," I say getting up and washing out my cup.
I open my ODS, take one of the potions Doctor T gave me, and drink it.
"They're getting bad again are they hon?" Applejack said.
I nod my head and smile at her before heading out to the chicken coop.
It's fifteen minutes later and I walk back inside the house where I see Applejack finishing off her preparations. I set the full container of eggs next to her.
"All done!" I say in a hushed, proud tone.
"The chickens are currently munching away on their food, and those are the eggs," I say with a proud expression.
"Thank you Mex, that really did help me out, but, if I may, you seem a little too proud of that," Applejack said.
"Well yeah! It's the first time I've done a task on the farm by myself!" I state proudly.
"Ohh, that's what that's about, well, good job Mex!" Applejack said, giving me a quick smooch on the head again.
Brimming with pride and satisfaction, I ask Applejack if I can help cook breakfast. She agrees, and we get to work. Twenty minutes later, Big Mac and Granny walk downstairs and are shocked to see us cooking breakfast.
"Mornin Big Mac, Granny; Big Mac? Would you get Apple Bloom up please?" Applejack said.
Big Mac smiled and nodded and walked back upstairs, shortly followed by rapid hoof beats coming down the stairs, Apple Bloom appears in the kitchen and greets us all. Apple Bloom, Granny and Big Mac sit down at the table and I float down everyponys plate of breakfast.
"Go ahead and sit down sugar cube, I'll finish up here." Applejack said.
I sit down, proud that I have finally helped the folks that took me in. Applejack joins us and we begin to eat.
The Apples are oddly quiet, glancing at each other.
"Is something wrong?" I say, worried that I messed something up.
"Oh, no hon, it's just-" Applejack said, but was interrupted by Granny.
"These are the best darn Haycakes I've ever had!" Granny said with a shocked expression.
"Eyup!" Big Mac said with a very satisfied expression on his face.
"Yeah! Good job Applejack! Whatever you did differently this time, keep doin it!" Apple Bloom said.
"They are very good, aren't they? Mex did a great job mixing the batter!" Applejack, specifying it was me that made them.
The other Apples all look at me, shocked.
"I, guess I have a talent for cooking, who woulda picked that!?" I said with a laugh.
Apple Bloom gasped with excitement and rushed over to look at my flank.
"Oh my gosh! Did you get your cutie mark in cooking?!" Apple Bloom said while looking at my flank, I'll admit, I was excited too.
After finding nothing, Apple Bloom looked sad but shrugged it off and returned to the table, I was a bit sad too.
"Ah well, it'll happen soon, I'm sure of it." Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah, I know it will, with all of us!" I say, smiling at Apple Bloom.
Applejack gasps.
"Look at the time you two! We'd better get a move on if we're going to get ready in time!" Applejack said.
I rush upstairs with Apple Bloom and we pack what we need to camp, I still had all of my camping gear in my ODS spell, but I take it out and make sure it's all there. After that, I help Apple Bloom pack her things, and get them in the ODS.
We come out of our rooms at the same time and we knock on Applejack's door.
"Coming!" Applejack said, and then opened the door shortly afterwards, all packed up as well.
"Alrighty, go ahead Applejack, put ya stuff in," I say.
Applejack hesitates for a moment but puts her luggage in the ODS spell. We all head downstairs and say our goodbyes to Granny and Big Mac. Applejack leads us to the meet-up point, just outside of Ponyville.
We're the first ones there, closely followed by Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle and Rarity. Sweetie Belle is lugging around a lot of luggage, I activate the ODS spell and help her store all of it.
I'm about to greet the others when a vision of the Tree of Harmony flashes before me, with an ethereal voice whispering my name.
"Another vision Mex?" Scootaloo said, after noticing me space out for a moment.
A look of pure confusion on my face gave pause to the older ponies.
"No, this was very different, excuse me, I have to check something quickly, I'll catch up," I say, my horn glows and I teleport to the cave entrance that the Tree is at.
A brisk wind blows across my back, I can hear the rustling of the leaves in the trees all around the top of the canyon.
I walk inside the cave and I can hear the voice whisper my name again.
"Meeeeex" I hear the voice say.
"Who's there?" I say in my combative tone.
I keep walking until I reach the Tree of Harmony, which looks exactly as it did before apart from one tiny difference. Four new crystals were growing on new branches!
After I had seen them, the crystals dislodged from their sockets and floated over to me, spinning around me and changing shapes into amulets, gold thread with the gem at the end on them, perfectly sized to fit around four young ponies' necks.
They float down towards me and I take them up in my magic, studying them one by one very quickly. I knew instantly they were meant for the crusaders but, why? I put them in my saddle bag and quickly teleported back to the group location.
"Mex! There you are! What happened?" Applejack said.
"N-nothing, it's nothing, I'll tell y'all about it when we get to camp," I say with a smile.
"Alright! Let's get going!" Apple Bloom said, glancing over to me with a confused expression on her face.
We've been walking all day now, taking rest stops along the way, until we finally reach the site of our first stop. We're losing daylight pretty fast. We see Rainbow Dash flying through the air getting the camp set up, she waves at us as we approach.
"Whoa, you guys got here faster than you normally do." She says.
She glances at us, confused.
"Hey, where's all of the camping gear?" She asked, clearly confused.
I smile, and cast my ODS spell, pulling all sorts of things from the hole and handing them out to the other ponies.
"Oh, right," Rainbow said with a slight chuckle.
Rainbow Dash flies over and helps us unload the supplies, it didn't take long to get everything out and ready to be set up.
"Scootaloo and Mex? Why don't you get us some firewood and I'll get us a fire going; We'll stay here and get camp set up." Applejack said.
"Alright, let's go Scootaloo!" I say with a smile.
Scootaloo zips up beside me with a slightly awkward smile, I figure she's a bit scared of the dark and is happy to be going with somepony. I shrug it off and start moving towards the trees.
"Firewood huh? Hmm." I say out loud.
"Yep! Just grab a few twigs and we can go back, I hate it out here when it's dark," Scootaloo said, nervously looking around.
"Ah, it'll be alright, you grab some twigs and I'll get some logs, sound good?" I say in as comforting of a voice as I can muster.
"U-uh huh." She said, still nervous.
Scootaloo rounds up some sticks very quickly, while I find a fallen tree not too far from us, I walk over and lift it with my magic, breaking it into logs as I do.
We finish up within a few minutes and head back to camp.
"Whoo wee! Great job on the firewood you two! That'll give us hours of fire!" Applejack said, finishing up the tents.
"Thanks! I think we did fairly well, didn't we Scootaloo?" I say looking at her.
"Y-yeah, we did well!" She said, now smiling, and seeming to forget how nervous she was moments ago.
I float the wood down to the outside of the seating Applejack set up for us around the fire, I float some sticks and a log to the fire pit and ignite it with my solar light.
Rarity's jaw fell open for a few moments.
"Wow, I had forgotten just how naturally skilled you are with Magic darling," She said.
"That was solar light, I don't think I could have managed that with just magic," I say, smiling at her.
Applejack turns around with spark rocks and sighs before putting them down, we all laugh as we all sit down around the fire.
"So, anypony got some campfire stories while dinner is cooking?" Rarity said.
"We've heard most of them by now I think." Sweetie Belle said.
"Mex, darling, surely you have some scary stories we've never heard before?" Rarity said.
I look up at her and nod, Applejack looks concerned.
"Uh, let's not, I think those memories of yours are surely terrifying, but, not exactly camp story material." Applejack said.
"Oh, I wasn't going to do that Applejack, I'm the only pony who should ever have to live with those memories," I say with my head slightly lowered.
"But I do have a scary story the children of the city used to tell each other around the bonfires of the Festival of The Lost," I say with a spooky voice.
The girls snuggle up with their sisters and listen intently.
"This is the story of "The Headless Ones" found in the pages of the Book of The Forgotten," I say, and add in a little evil laugh.
"And that's the story of "The Headless Ones," I say.
"Only, of course, it wasn't until a few years ago we found it they were real," I say.
Everypony's face looks confused.
"Wait, are you saying those headless captains were real?!" Apple Bloom said.
"Mhm, scared the apple sauce out of me when I first fought one," I say, taking a sip from my drink.
"But you beat it right?" Scootaloo said, now scared again.
"Oh yeah I had the honour of killing the last one, their foul power no longer infests my home world," I say with a prideful smile and held my hoof to my chest in a heroic stance.
The girls all giggle with their sisters, a visage of a Headless One appeared in front of me, its pumpkin head burning a sick green flame, it disappeared, and I hardly reacted, aside from an annoyed grunt.
I quickly retrieve my potions from the ODS spell and drink one down.
Applejack looks at me concerned but doesn't say anything.
"What about some Equestrian stories? I'd like to hear these." I say with a smile.
The girl's smile and Rainbow Dash begins the story of "The Headless Horse."
"The Headless Horse?" I say with a slightly cocked head and a smile.
"It reminded me of that one!" Rainbow Dash said, pretending to be annoyed.
We all laugh together as she begins the story.
We've all finished up our stories and dinner now, it's been a few hours since we got here, the girls and I let out a yawn, and Applejack gets up from the log.
"Alright y'all, let's hit the sack, we've got a ways to go tomorrow." Applejack said, throwing the bucket of water on the fire, putting it out with a hiss as the steam rises from the fire pit.
"Wait a minute." Apple Bloom said.
We all turned to look at her.
"Is Mex staying by himself?" She said.
"Well, yeah, I suppose I am," I say.
Apple Bloom walked up to me.
"It's alright Mex, I'll stay with ya!" She said.
I smile.
"Thanks, Apple Bloom," I say.
"We will too! It'll be like a sleepover! The fillies and colts and the older ponies in their tents!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah! What they said!" Scootaloo said.
The older ponies shrug.
"Guess it's a sleepover tonight then darlings." Rarity said.
"Alright!" We all say together.
"Let's go everypony!" I say with excitement.
"Good night y'all!" Apple Bloom said.
"Good night!" The three older ponies all said together.
I spend a minute or so taking down the extra tents, then walk back into mine with the girls still settling in for the night. My sleeping bag was next to Sweetie Belle and Apple Blooms.
"I'm happy I decided to listen to you Apple Bloom," I say.
"I'm glad you did too Mex." She replied while shifting closer to me and putting a leg over my chest.
It's early morning when I wake up, I've found that Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo have moved closer to Apple Bloom and me, making a Cutie Mark Crusader hug pile.
I smile at this and just enjoy it for a few minutes, knowing I still need to do my meditation, I praise The Traveller and Celestia for the ability to teleport and zap myself outside. Today I'm focusing on the task of successfully combining Arc, Solar, Void, and Stasis to create Omni.
I sit by the fire pit we had last night and take my meditation posture, I focus on the elements, feeling them within my horn and body.
Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash come out of their tent, after just waking up. They all stop in their tracks when they see Mex meditating and floating with five sprites floating around him, two of them were purple, one a blue lighting spark, a red flame and a stasis crystal.
They all watch in awe as the five of them spin faster and faster until they clash together in a bright flash, what's left, is a rainbow-coloured ball of seemingly pure magic.
"Oh my gosh! What is that?!" Rarity said.
"I have no idea but it looks awesome!" Rainbow Dash said.
Applejack approaches me.
"Mex? Hon? Are you alright?" She says.
My eyes snap open, and the ball of Omni power disperses in the form of a rainbow lightning bolt into the sky with a thunderous boom. I float back to the ground a little shocked.
"Oh, good morning everypony, sorry about that," I say.
"Darling, whatever were you doing,?" Rarity asked.
"I was trying to perfect the Omni power! I figured out the missing ingredient and the reason we could never do it back home!" I say excitedly.
The older ponies look at each other confused.
"Magic! The missing ingredient is magic!" I say a bit louder and bouncing around.
The rest of the Crusaders all step outside, having heard the lightning.
"What was that?!" Sweetie Belle said.
I rush over to them.
"Oh, sorry girls, I was just doing my morning meditation and I figured out the missing ingredient to Omni!" I say jumping around like an excited kid.
After a recap on what Omni was, the girls seemed happy and celebrated with me.
I help Applejack with the cooking of breakfast and we all pack down the camp, placing it all back into my ODS, we get on the way to our destination once again.
"Hey, where are we going? I just realised I had never asked that." I say.
All six girls giggle and Applejack turns back to face me.
"Aww, if we told ya that, then we'd ruin the surprise!" She said.
I cock my head at them and grunt in an "Annoyed but not really annoyed" kind of way and we all burst out in laughter. As we laugh, I notice the four amulets I received before the trip begin to glow brightly.
"Oh right, I should probably tell them about these." I think to myself.
After a few hours of walking and we reach our next camping spot, we all have the same jobs as before, so off Scootaloo and I went to gather firewood. We got back, and this time I let Applejack light the fire which we all giggled about.
We sit by the fire and I remembered the amulets.
"Hey, I forgot to show everypony something; remember when I zipped off before we got started on the trip?" I say.
"When you had us all worried sick?! Yes, we remember." Apple Bloom said, more giggles from everypony.
"Well, I had a vision from the Tree of Harmony," I say, instantly drawing the attention of the three older ponies.
"I went to see it, and it gave me these amulets," I say, taking them out of my saddle bag.
The moment I do, they begin glowing, and I instantly knew which one was for whom. Blue for Sweetie Belle, red for Apple Bloom and purple for Scootaloo. The rainbow one was mine.
The amulets begin to float and move to their new owners.
The girls gasp before reaching out and taking the amulets, when they do, Light surged around them briefly, when it finishes, they were wearing their new amulet.
"Whoa! What are they?" Apple Bloom said.
"They look amazing!" Sweetie Belle said.
"They feel, strange," Scootaloo said.
The older ponies stand up and walk over.
"Well, they do look fabulous! But what are they?" Rarity said, looking closely at Sweetie Belles's amulet.
"I'm not sure, I just got them from the tree and came straight back," I say, picking up my amulet.
"I think when we get back, we need to visit Twilight." Applejack said.
I put my amulet on and immediately, a thread of light connects all four amulets, after the light disappears, all four of us have a blanket of light coating our bodies.
When we open our eyes, they are glowing a brilliant bright white, we hover ever so slightly off of the ground; Sweetie Belle's Light turns into Arc lightning surrounding her body, and Apple Bloom's transforms into Solar Light, burning warmly around her body, Scootaloo's Light is replaced with a blanket of Void Light, wrapped around her body. My Light is replaced with rainbow Omni energy, wrapped around me like a warm blanket on a cold winter's day.
After a few seconds of this, the light disappears, our eyes return to normal, and we touch the ground again. We all look at each other with a tear in our eyes and form a group hug in seconds.
"W-what just happened?" Rainbow Dash said.
"I understand what these amulets are for now," I say.
"While wearing them, they help us focus our Light, the elements have chosen their master," I say.
"Sweetie Belle, you are entrusted with Arc Light, you are a conduit for lightning, trust in the Light and it will protect you in your time of need," I say.
"Scootaloo, you are entrusted with Void Light, light as mysterious as the universe we're in, able to rip apart enemies, but not even scratch friends, trust in the Light and it will protect you in your time of need," I say.
"Apple Bloom, you are entrusted with Solar Light, light that burns as hot as the sun itself, but is also used to heal, trust in the Light and it will protect you in your time of need," I say.
"Whoa whoa whoa, the Light? You mean the power you mix with Equestrian magic? Isn't that extremely dangerous?" Applejack said.
I turn to look at the very concerned adult ponies.
"It seems their Light will only activate if all four of us are together and we are wearing the amulets, I would never put anypony in danger; So, they will only be used in emergencies."
"Did y'all feel that by the way? That peace when we connected?" Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah! It was just like before, in the woods!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah! It was crazy! Like, I could feel our friendship and see it right in front of me!" Scootaloo said.
"Yeah! It was, nice." I say, blushing just a bit.
"Come on, let's take them off, for now, I'll keep a hold of them," I say.
The girls take off the amulets and pass them back to me, I put all four back in my bag and clip it shut.
"Do you have a name for them yet?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Oh yeah, the name of the amulets came to me as we were connected," I say, pausing for dramatic effect.
"They're called, The Amulets of Light," I say.
The girls "oo" and "Ah" at the announcement.
"The Amulets of Light huh? I wonder if they're similar to the Elements of Harmony?" Rarity said.
"Well, they both came from the tree, didn't they? They must be!" Rainbow Dash.
"As I said, we should visit Twilight when we get back to town, for now, let's just enjoy our camping trip!" Applejack said.
We all cheer in agreement and sit back down at the fire, after a few more scary stories and dinner, we all pack in for the night and head to bed.
It's early morning and I decide to sleep a bit longer today, I grab the nearest pony I had and snuggled up to them, falling back to sleep.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo wake up.
"Good mornin y'all, how'd you sleep?" Apple Bloom said.
"Yeah, pretty good, no nightmares this time so-" Scootaloo said but cut herself off when she looked down to see Sweetie Belle also awake.
Scootaloo smirked and waved Apple Bloom over.
"Hey Apple Bloom, come here," Scootaloo said.
Apple Bloom walks around to her side and sees Sweetie Belle with a hoof over her mouth signalling "Shh." Mex's front leg is over Sweetie Belle and he is holding her like a teddy bear. Sweetie Belle is blushing harder than a tomato.
"Awww!" Apple Bloom said.
"Shhh, you guys! He's still asleep!" Sweetie Belle said in a hushed tone.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo start giggling their heads off, causing Sweetie Belle to pretend to be upset at them. All of the commotion caused Mex to stir and wake up, releasing his grip on Sweetie Belle.
I wake up and stretch my legs out, I sit up to see the girls looking at me with cheeky smirks on their faces.
"Good morning, what're the looks for?" I say.
The girls giggle even harder, Sweetie Belle gets up and faces away from me. I shrug.
"Well, anyway, We should head out for breakfast, see you out there in a bit?" I say.
"U-uh huh!" Came the flustered voice of Sweetie Belle.
"Sweet, see ya soon!" I say and head outside the tent.
The moment I leave, I hear giggling from Apple Bloom and Scootaloo again, followed by hushed "Shh's" from Sweetie Belle.
Confused as all heck I walk over to Applejack and the others to assist with preparing breakfast. I tell them what happened and how confused I am about it.
The girls giggle.
"Ohhh I think I know what's happenin." Applejack said with a smirk.
"Indeed." Rarity said with a chuckle.
"Hehe, nice one Mex!" Rainbow Dash said, nudging my shoulder.
"Nice? What's nice?" I say in confusion, launching the girls into another giggle fest.
A few minutes later, the Crusaders come out of the tent and sit down for breakfast. I wave as they approach.
"Hey girls! Perfect timing! Breakfast is ready!" I say, plating everyponys food.
"Wow! He can even cook! Nice one Sweetie Belle." Rarity said with a wink.
Sweetie Belle blushed up in seconds and changed the topic.
"So! What are we having this morning?" She said with a sense of urgency.
With my head cocked to the side in confusion I look to the others who are stifling a giggle.
"Haycakes! The Apples like my Haycakes so I thought I could whip some up for us!" I say with pride.
After we eat breakfast, I stand up to help clean up when Applejack stops me.
"Don't worry about it sugarcube, go and play with your friends for a while before we do the last leg of the trip." Applejack said.
"Are you sure? I don't mind staying to help pack up." I reply.
"Come on Mex! We're playin tag!" I hear Apple Bloom say from a distance.
I smile, nod, and head off to the girls.
After everything is packed up and stored in my ODS spell we head off, only a couple more hours till we get to this mysterious campsite the girls are keeping a secret from me.
It's strange, I haven't sensed a single threat since we left, I wonder why that is. I thought we'd be surrounded by danger being out in the wild, I wonder why Applejack wouldn't let me go by myself. I guess it's the younger body, I mean I still feel like myself but, I am getting younger mentally, I can feel it.
My thoughts were interrupted by Applejack.
"Well y'all, here we are! Winsome Falls!" She said.
I look up and before me, I see something jaw-dropping, absolutely gorgeous! Waterfalls and rainbow falls flow into a beautiful, crystal clear river. Trees that remind me of Cherry Blossom trees from the ancient tomes back in the Tower Library.
Perfect grass all around! This is what Earth used to look like! Apart from the Rainbow Waterfall...
"Oh, my, Ghost!" I softly exclaim with my jaw hanging open.
"Isn't it pretty Mex?!" Apple Bloom said with excitement oozing out of her voice.
"Y-yeah, it's very pretty! Ha ha! Wow!" I yell excitedly.
"Hold on y'all, you girls know the rules, set up camp before running off to play!" Applejack said.
I quickly activate my ODS spell and pull out all of the equipment we need and we all begin setting up camp. It doesn't take us long with all seven of us working at it.
Once camp is set up, the girls take me on a tour of the area.
"Keep in sight of the camp please darlings!" Rarity called back out to us.
"Okay!" We all shout back together.
The girls lead me to a few parts of the area that they always loved to visit, the rainbow waterfall, their favourite tree et cetera. We played tag for about twenty minutes before heading back to camp.
On our way back, I took a moment to think about everything that has happened to me since landing in Equestria, how nice everypony has been to be, that's when I decided to throw them all a party! I could get Pinkie Pie to help me plan and execute it.
I took in the energy of the area, you would this place was amazing even if you were blindfolded, that's how amazing the energy in the air felt.
We arrive back at camp just before dark, it didn't long as we were in eyesight of the camp.
"Welcome back y'all, did you have fun Mex?" Applejack asked me.
I look over at her and smile.
"Yeah! This place is amazing! I'm really glad Apple Bloom convinced me to come." I say with a beaming smile.
Apple Bloom smiles proudly, triggering a round of laughs from everypony.
"Alright, y'all! We're having hayburgers and salad tonight" Rarity said.
"Alright!" The Crusaders say together and sit down, we begin munching away.
After eating, Applejack gets up to clear the table.
"Hold on Applejack! I made something last night, while you were all sleeping, sorry about that by the way." I say with a sheepish smile, shying away from the glares I got from the older ponies.
I pull out an apple pie from my ODS spell and place it on the table.
"I made this last night following Pinkie's instructions he wrote down for me," I say.
The pie was cooked near perfectly, in the ODS spell it suspends everything as it was when it went in, so it's still piping hot!
"D-does anypony want a slice?" I say sheepishly.
The Crusaders jump up out of their seats.
"Ooh ooh me! Me!" They all say together.
"That sounds lovely Mex." Rarity said.
I cut a slice for everyone and place them on plates with my magic, everypony digs in and looks of shock and satisfaction cross their face.
"Wow! What a pie!" Applejack said.
"Right?! This is great kid!" Rainbow Dash said.
"I might have ta put you on pie duty from now on." Applejack said, making us all giggle.
We finish our food and head to sleep, we're making our way home tomorrow, the reason they do this trip around this time of year is because of the extra long weekend that Miss Cherilee has so she can plan the next few months of school. We pretty much have the whole week off!
I woke up before the others again, I found myself snuggling up to Sweetie Belle, with Apple Bloom up against me, I decided to just stay here instead of disturbing them, I didn't have to wait long though, because the others started waking up only minutes later.
"Good morning Crusaders!" Sweetie Belle said in a tired but excited tone.
"Aww! I can't believe we're going home already!" Scootaloo said.
"Yeah, I would have preferred to stay longer as well, but I guess that's what makes this place so magical," I say.
The girls agree with me, begrudgingly.
"Oh, Sweetie Belle, sorry about clinging to you like a magnet to a fridge, I tend to do that," I say, with my head down.
Sweetie Belle immediately blushes like a tomato and the other start giggling again.
"Huh?" I think to myself.
Rainbow Dash pops her head inside the tent.
"Hey, everypony! Ready to go?" She said.
She notices Sweetie Belle blushing and smirks.
"I'll give you guys a little more time, she said with a chuckle before leaving.
"Huh?" I say out loud.
"Never mind! It doesn't matter! Let's go!" Sweetie Belle hastily said, ushering us outside.
"Mornin y'all! Come helps us pack up and we'll head out." Applejack said.
We all help pack up camp and store the supplies in my ODS.
"Hey, Applejack? Would you mind if I get some flying practice in before we get going?" I say.
Applejack turns to look at me.
"Well sure, I don't see why not, ten minutes okay?" She replied.
I nod my head and turn to Rainbow Dash.
"Hey, slowpoke! Wanna do some flying?" I say while giggling my head off.
"O-oh! You did not just say that mister!" She said, getting ready to grab me and scrunch my mane.
I unfurl my wings and take off into the sky at high speed, I can hear Rainbow take off as well. We're both zipping in and around the clouds, Rainbow Dash right on my tail.
"When I catch you, kid, you'll be sorry!" She said laughing.
The entire time I'm giggling my head off, Rainbow is laughing as well. We do a couple of sharp turns and tricks in the air and then land on the ground near the others. Rainbow Dash trots up to me and gives me my well-deserved mane noogie.
"Hey! Whoa there slowpoke, I mean, Rainbow Dash," I say with a smirk.
The Crusaders are laughing their butts off, Applejack and Rarity join in as well, and eventually, we all burst out in a laugh that would solidify not only our friendship forever but also a tradition that would happen every year we came here.
