My New Life in Equestria.
Chapter 14:
Memories, I've learnt recently they can be brutally cruel, but also sweet and heart-warming, like the camping trip the girls, their sisters and I went on to Winsome Falls. I will always treasure those memories, but all of the memories I had collected as a guardian, felt like they were crushing me, they weighed as much as a fully stocked starship carrying supplies.
I gasped awake the morning of a new school day, the nightmare I just had still fresh in my mind. It was about the time we entered the Infinite Forrest; we died so many times during that mission, it's honestly in the top three things that are haunting me. It is getting better though, the counselling sessions with Doctor T are very slowly working.
There's a knock on the door.
"Come in," I say.
Applejack quietly enters and shuts the door behind her.
"You okay sugarcube? I came to check on you cuz you weren't downstairs before me and I got a little worried, then I heard you gasp." She said.
"Yeah," I say, rubbing my eyes and stretching my neck.
"Just, a rough night's sleep," I say.
"Well, take it easy today okay hon? Coffee downstairs if you want some." She says as she leaves.
I get out of bed and make my way downstairs where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills my nose. I pour myself a cup and sit next to Applejack. We drink our coffee together as she tells me the plan for today.
"So, I've made arrangements with Rarity and Rainbow Dash to have the girls meet us at Twilights Castle so we can show her those amulets." She said.
"Sounds good, then we go from there to school?" I say.
"That's right," She said with a smile.
"What's on the menu for you today?" I say while taking another sip of coffee.
"Well, I'm gonna hit the market with some more produce and products, gotta get all of those apples we harvested sold." She said.
"Makes sense; Well I wish you good luck at the market!" I say with a smile.
It was a few minutes later when Applejack went upstairs to retrieve Apple Bloom and get her ready. Apple Bloom comes down the stairs tired, but still as lively as ever. I run upstairs to grab the amulets and we're off to Twilight's place.
On the way to Twilight's castle, we meet up with the others and finish making our way to the door, Applejacks knocks on the door and Spike lets us in, we make our way to the library.
"Hey ya Twi! Hope we're not intruding." Applejack said.
"Of course not! What can I help all of you with?" She replied.
Everypony looks at me and I take a deep breath. I explain what happened with the amulets in as much detail as I can remember.
"So, that's why we came here, we thought you could help us understand what they are," I say, finishing the story and taking out the amulets.
Twilight immediately gets curious and gets close to them, studying them.
"And, you say these came from the Tree of Harmony?" She said, still looking at them.
"Mhm," I say while nodding.
"Hmm, what happened when you put them on?" She asked.
I tell her about the reaction they had to each of the girls and myself, the elements choosing a new master.
"They did what?!" Twilight shouted.
"Do you think they could be like the Elements of Harmony Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Hmm, possibly, but if what Mex said is true, then they reacted to the Light, and you said you all felt closer when it happened?" She said.
The Crusaders nod together, slightly blushing.
Twilight looks as though she is in deep thought as she studies the amulets.
"Would you mind putting them on for me?" Twilight said.
I shrug and hand each of them to their owner.
"Um, are you sure that's a good idea Twilight?" Rarity said.
"Yes, it will be okay, how else will I discover what they do?" She said.
"Well, okay, be careful you four." Rarity said.
Altogether, we place them around our necks and, just like before, a thread of pure light connects all four gems and our fur begins to glow in our elements, our eyes glow a brilliant white for a few moments before returning to normal.
"Amazing, simply incredible! Those amulets are magnifying and focusing the Light! Mex, would you attempt to use your magic please?" Twilight said.
I nod, and begin to float a table nearby, it floats for a few moments and then the girl's amulets begin to glow brighter and the thread of light increases in intensity and the table explodes.
"Whoa! What the?! I just tried levitating it I promise!" I say, in a panic.
"It's okay, it's just as I thought! Mex, the girl's amulets are empowering your magic even further! The same thing would happen if one of them tried to do something." Twilight said.
"It's like whoever does a task, the others are doing it with them! This is incredible!" Twilight said, clearly unable to control her excitement.
"As amazing as it is, that also makes those amulets dangerous, I think it would be best if we left them for Twilight to look after for the time being." Applejack said.
We all looked at each other and nodded in agreement, shortly afterwards, the thread disconnects from our amulets and we return to normal, we remove the amulets and hand them over to Twilight who takes them and gently places them into the case the elements had been in.
"I will keep them safe here and study them as much as I can." She said after turning back around.
"What if we need them Twilight?" Scootaloo said.
"I'm sure they will find their way to you should that need ever arise," Twilight said in a comforting tone.
We all relax a bit after hearing her words.
"Well, thank you for your help Twilight, we'd best get the kids off to school." Applejack said.
"No problem, have a good day you four!" Twilight said smiling and waving her hoof.
Applejack and the others drop us off at school a few minutes before school begins. We walk into the classroom and it's adorned in Hearts and Hooves Day decorations. We sit down at our desks and start talking about cutie marks.
I had just started with my proposal of trying snorkelling when Miss Cheerilee entered the room with the rest of the class, everypony took their seats and Miss Cherilee cleared her throat.
"Good morning everypony!" She said.
"Good morning Miss Cheerilee," We all said together.
"So, tomorrow is Hearts and Hooves Day, as is tradition, I would like everypony to make a Hearts and Hooves Day card; You can address it to anypony you wish." Miss Cheerilee said with a smile.
"But, for now, we will return to the topic of pony magic," She said.
We spent the next couple of hours learning and participating in group activities that helped with the learning process, quite genius, to be honest, the time arrives when we make our cards.
"Alright everypony, you can work in groups or by yourself, however, you'd like; When you're ready, please come up and get your supplies," Miss Cheerilee said with a beaming smile. I get the sense she loves making these cards with the class.
The girls and I team up and retrieve our supplies from Miss Cheerilee and return them to our desk.
"Alright, y'all, what do you wanna do for our card?" Apple Bloom said.
"Why don't we make each other a card?" I say.
Sweetie Belle blushes and the others giggle before being shushed by Sweetie Belle. I'm confused as ever as I have a raised eyebrow looking between them all.
"Okay, maybe just one big card for all of us?" I say.
"No! I like making one for everypony!" Sweetie Belle quickly interjected, causing us all to look at her. She blushes again.
Scootaloo and Apple Bloom cover their mouths but are giggling.
"Alright, does that sound good to you guys?" I say looking at Scootaloo and Apple Bloom who quickly compose themselves.
"Mhm, sounds good." They say at the same time.
We get to work on our cards, I'm mainly just copying the words from Scootaloo's with a personal message for each of them, as I have no idea what the cards are supposed to say. I notice I can decorate them however I want so I get to work using every part of my creative brain power to at least make them look decent.
For Apple Bloom's card, I go with some blue and purple glitter around the edges of the card in a hoof pattern, with the text "Thank you for taking me in as a friend, brother, and Crusader, I owe you everything, Love Mex." above the standard greeting.
For Scootaloo's card, I went with orange and pink glitter around the edges of the card in a squiggle pattern, with the text, "I don't think I'll be able to thank you enough for being my friend and helping me learn how to be a pony and a Crusader, keep being awesome, Love Mex." above the standard greeting.
For Sweetie Belle's card, I went with pink and gold glitter around the edges of the card in hearts and hooves shapes that I just thought of while working on the last card, with the text "Sweetie Belle, you and the others mean so much to me that I cannot hope to convey it with words, here's to our eternal friendship, Love Mex," Above the standard greeting.
I make another card for Miss Cheerilee thanking her for teaching me about Equestria.
"There! All done! How are you guys going?" I say.
"I'm all done too!" Scootaloo said.
"Me too!" Apple Bloom said.
"I'm not done yet! I'm a little stuck on what to say for one of the cards," Sweetie Belle said blushing slightly.
"Ohh, I see." Apple Bloom said looking over her shoulder, stifling a giggle.
Scootaloo went to look as well and began giggling too.
"Hey, Mex? Could you go and get us some more glitter? Just a bit of all of the colours." Apple Bloom said.
"Alright, I'll be right back. Need anything else?" I ask.
"Nope, that's enough, thank you bye," Scootaloo said pushing me towards the supply table.
"O-kay," I say a bit confused but head to gather the supplies.
I arrive at the table and pick up a small container of each of the colours of glitter with a confused face. Miss Cheerilee walks up to me.
"Everything okay Mex? You look a bit lost." She said.
"Yeah, I'm fine, the girls just hurriedly asked me to get them some more glitter," I say.
Miss Cheerilee looks over to the girls, who are all huddled around Sweetie Belle whispering in a very hushed tone.
Miss Cheerilee giggles and turns back to me.
"Ah, I see, I don't think I should be the one to tell you what's happening though," She said with a smile.
Even more confused, I head back to the table and watch as they all scramble back to their seats.
"Here you go, I got one of each," I say with a smile, a confused smile, but a smile nonetheless.
"That's okay, we're all finished!" Apple Bloom said while packing their cards away in envelopes.
"Then why did I need to get the glitter?!" I say even more confused.
The girls giggle and Scootaloo puts a hoof around my shoulders leading me to the card drop-off point just as the bell rings for recess.
In Canterlot, a group of ponies are having a meeting around a table.
"And you're sure we can use this?" One of them says.
"Yes, it was very difficult to find, but we can use this law to make sure he goes away," Another one said.
"And what if he uses his immense power to escape?" A third says.
"Then he will be a fugitive and Princess Celestia will have no choice but to issue an arrest warrant for him." The second pony says.
"Excellent, let's do this then." The first pony said.
It's the end of the school day and we're about to part ways.
"Oh! Remember girls! Picnic for Hearts and Hooves Day tomorrow, that is of course, if you still wanna have one with me." I say.
"Yes!" That was all I heard from Sweetie Belle.
"We'll be there Mex! I can't wait to see what kind of spread you've got for us." Scootaloo said.
"It's gonna be great! See y'all there!" I say with a smile.
We part ways and I turn to Apple Bloom.
"Hey, I gotta visit Fluttershy before I head home, I'll see ya there," I say.
"Alright, don't be too long or Applejack will send out a search party for ya." She replied as she skipped home.
I smile and head to Fluttershy's house.
I knock on Fluttershy's cottage door and a little white bunny answers the door. The bunny smiles at me and hops away, a short while later, Fluttershy comes to the door.
"Oh! Hi Mex, what can I do for you?" She said.
"Hi Fluttershy, I was wondering, could you help me put together a picnic?" I say.
I spend about five minutes explaining that I want to take the girls on a picnic for Hearts and Hooves day but I've never thrown one before and need some help.
"Oh! That sounds like a wonderful idea Mex, of course, I will help you," She replied.
Fluttershy told me the basics of picnicking and some suggestions on what to bring, she even lent me a picnic basket that I could use. Most of the things on the list I knew where to get, I'll put in an order at Sugar Cube Corner before school tomorrow and I'll be fine.
I thank Fluttershy and teleport home, I appear outside the front door of the farm and walk inside.
It's early morning and I head downstairs for breakfast, after finishing I get up from the table.
"Hey y'all, sorry to eat and run, but I gotta visit Sugar Cube Corner, I promise I'll go directly to school afterwards, bye love you guys, Apple Bloom I'll see you at school!" I say and head outside towards Sugar Cube Corner.
On the walk over there, I see royal guard ponies glaring at me from a distance but I shrug it off and keep walking, I reach my destination and walk inside, and up to the front counter.
"Hi Pinkie Pie!" I say with energy.
"Heya Mex! What can I do for you?" She replies.
"Can I put in an order for a dozen Crusader special cupcakes to pick up after school?" I say.
"Of course, ooh! Is this for your picnic?" She said.
"Uh-huh! I wanted to give the girls a nice picnic for Hearts and Hooves Day." I say with a smile.
"Ahhh, smooth, real smooth there Mex." She said with a wink.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I ask.
"I mean, come on! A picnic on Hearts and Hooves Day? Just for them? Come on; You like one of them don't you." She said, basically staring me down.
"W-what? Of course I like them! They're my friends." I reply in utter confusion.
"Nooo silly, you like like one of them don't you?" She said while raising her eyebrows.
I stare at her confused.
Exasperated, she sighs.
"You love one of them! Romantically!" She half shouted.
"W-whaaat?!" I said blushing a bit.
"Ah ha! I knew it! Who is it?" Pinkie said with an enormous smile.
"U-uh, nopony! I can't love remember?" I say and explain again why I'm doomed in that field.
"Oh pfft! You're getting younger every day Mex! Every time I see you you're getting younger and younger in your mind!" She said, winking at me.
"Okay you sly little charmer, that'll be 15 bits for your order, young love discount." She said with a slow, exaggerated wink.
I sigh and hand over 20 bits.
"Keep the change Pinkie, okay thanks bye!" I say as I rush out of the door.
I hurry to school and make good time, I'm ten minutes early and see the girls waiting for me at the entrance. We make our way inside and go through the day normally, with a few more minor memory leaks that I was able to mostly hide.
"Okay everypony, now is the time we all open our Hearts and Hooves Day cards we made yesterday, please open your card pouches by the front of your desks." Miss Cheerilee said with a smile.
We all opened them up and take our cards out, I had about ten cards and began opening them, most of them were standard greetings with added comments about it "Being really cool you're an Alicorn!" I chuckle and add them to my pile.
I get to the Crusader's cards and smile. I open Scootaloo's card first. It was decorated with a lot of glitter, and the words read. "I'm glad you joined us as a Crusader, it's been a lot more fun with you around, keep being awesome!" I chuckle at the ending.
I open Apple Blooms next, and there are heart decorations all around the card that doesn't have text on it, the words read, "Mex, I'm so happy you came to live with us, I love having two brothers!" My eyes well up a little.
I open Sweetie Belle's next, there are hearts drawn with glitter in each of the corners, along with a drawing of all of us on the left side of the card. The words read, "You make me so happy every time I see you, you make me laugh and I really enjoy your company, can't wait for the picnic!" I smile deeply and I blush a small bit.
I look up at the girls who were tearing up at reading my cards, I look at Miss Cheerilee who mouths a "Thank you" at me which I nod at.
The school bell rings and we all stand up.
"Alright everypony, that's class for today, enjoy the rest of the day and I hope to see you at the festival tonight." She said to the class.
The girls and I step outside.
The moment we were away from the stampede coming out of the school, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle dragged Scootaloo along with them and the group hug me.
"Thank you for my card Mex, it meant a lot." Apple Bloom said.
"Mine too, I love it!" Sweetie Belle said.
"I-I enjoyed my card as well, thank you," Scootaloo said giving up on getting out of the hug.
"And thank all of you for your cards to me! It made me feel loved and like I truly am supposed to be here, at home." I say and return their hugs.
"Oh! Y'all ready for our picnic?!" I say in an excited tone.
"Yeah! Cutie Mark Crusaders? Let's move out!" The girls and I say together as we all high hoof together.
I go by Sugar Cube Corner and pick up the cupcakes as well as the rest of the picnic basket from home with my teleport spell and return to the girls. We walk a few minutes to the spot and begin setting up.
We had just barely laid the blanket out when two royal guards approach us.
"Mex?" One of them said.
I turn to face them, as do the girls.
"Yes?" I reply.
"We have a warrant for your arrest, please come with us." The same guard says.
"What?!" The girls and I say at the same time.
"For what? What did I do?" I say, panicking.
"Everything will be explained on the way to booking, please turn around." The second guard says.
The first guard steps forward and forcefully turns me around and clicks some hoof cuffs on me that glow a deep blue when they are closed, I can feel my magic being blocked.
"Hey! You can't arrest him!" Apple Bloom said loudly, getting upset.
"Yeah! What did he do?!" Scootaloo shouted.
"He's only a colt! Stop it!" Sweetie Belle said, tearing up.
"Please do not interfere." The first guard said.
They both turn and lead me back towards town.
"It's okay girls! I'll figure it out, in the meantime, go get Applejack." I call back to them.
The guards shove me forwards, as to hurry me up.
"Hey! Don't touch him!" Apple Bloom said tearing up.
In no time at all, we were over the hill and away from the girls.
"Come on Crusaders! We need to find our sisters or their friends! Let's split up and check the farm and Twilight's Castle first." Scootaloo said.
"Right!" The others say. And they quickly pack up the blanket and take off toward their destinations.
I'm led through town towards a carriage where a third Pegasus guard glares at me as we approach. The ponies are all staring and have faces of shock as we walk past them.
Miss Cheerilee spots us and sprints up to us.
"What do you think you're doing?!" She said.
"Ma'am, please do not interfere, we have a warrant for this colts arrest, any further interruption with our duties and we will charge you as well." The first guard said.
"No! Miss Cheerilee it's okay, I'll figure out what's going on and be back in no time, please, don't get yourself in trouble." I say, looking at her with pleading eyes.
Miss Cheerilee sighs angrily but doesn't say anything.
They load me into the carriage and we take off towards Canterlot.
Sweetie Belle bangs on the door of Twilights castle, Spike answers the door.
"Oh, hi Sweetie Belle, what can-" He said before getting interrupted by Sweetie.
"Spike! Is Applejack, my sister or their friends here?!" She said in a panic.
"Uh, yeah, they all are," Spike replied.
Sweetie Belle bolted inside and headed for the throne room.
She barges through the doors and sees all of the older ponies along with Shining Armour and Princess Cadance.
"Sweetie Belle?! What are you doing?" Rarity said in a mixture of shock and anger.
"Please help! Mex was just arrested by royal guards!" She shouted at them.
"What?!" They all said standing up.
"They said they had a warrant for Mex's arrest and put hoof cuffs on him that glowed blue!" Sweetie said.
"Magic suppressing cuffs, the royal guards use them when arresting a very powerful fugitive." Princess Cadance said.
"Where are they now? Did you see where they went?" Twilight said.
"No, they lead him towards town!" Sweetie said.
Miss Cheerilee came barging in next.
"Twilight! The royal guards just arrested Mex and took him to Canterlot in a prisoner transport carriage!" She said.
"I've heard, so they went to Canterlot, come on girls, we're going to Canterlot right now!" Twilight said.
"Sorry you two, we'll have to cut the visit a bit short this time," Twilight said to Princess Cadance and Shining Armour.
"We're coming too!" Cadance said.
Twilight nods and they rush out of the door.
On the trip to Canterlot, I turn to the guards who were sitting next to me.
"Now, what am I being arrested for?" I ask sternly.
"You are under arrest for being an unregistered visitor of Equestria." The second guard said.
"What?! Nopony told me I had to register! What kind of hair-brained reason is that?!" I said angrily.
"Silence!" The first guard said.
My light surges into my eyes for a moment, causing them to glow a pure white.
The guards react by drawing their weapons.
We arrive at Canterlot Prison and I am processed into a cell.
The group arrives in Canterlot and heads straight for the Royal Castle, they rush inside and up to Princess Celestia.
"Princess Celestia! Mex was arrested under a warrant in Ponyville about an hour ago!" Twilight said.
"What?!" Princess Celestia said in an angry and shocked voice.
She turns to one of the guards by her throne.
"Please investigate this and report back as soon as possible."
"Yes, Princess!" The guard said with a salute.
The guard rushes off out of the room.
"Tell me what happened," Celestia said.
The Crusaders step forward and tell the Princess what happened at the picnic.
The Princess was looking angrier and angrier by the second until the guard from before rushed back into the room.
"Your highness, the colt known as Mex was arrested under a warrant of not being a registered visitor to Equestria; Since he technically isn't a citizen, the law does say that he would have to register." The guard said while saluting.
"I hereby order Mex's immediate release and for official citizenship to be organised." Princess Celestia said with a stomp of her hoof.
"Yes, your highness! I will deliver your orders immediately!" The guard said and ran back outside.
"What could this happen, Princess?" Applejack said.
The Princess sighs deeply and explains.
"We have learned recently that there is a small group that opposes Mex and are scared of his power and say he is dangerous, they have put in several demands to banish him from Equestria but I have always denied them." She said.
"They must have found this obscure law from hundreds of moons ago and used it to get a warrant created behind my back." She continued.
"What?! Mex isn't dangerous! He's our friend." Apple Bloom said while tearing up.
"I know my little pony, he will be released soon and I will personally see to this group's punishment." Princess Celestia said with a hoof on Apple Bloom's shoulder.
The Crusaders group hug and quietly sob, comforting each other.
I sit alone in my cell thinking about how this could have happened.
"It must be a mistake, I am positive Princess Celestia wouldn't have issued that warrant, so what happened?!" I say out loud and in a confused tone.
Out of nowhere, I hear a large bang from somewhere in the cell and it startles me that I stumble backwards, the next thing I know I was falling through space and time and land on the ground in some grass.
The guard comes rushing back to the throne room and bursts through the door.
"Your Highness! Mex is missing from his cell!" The guard said in a panic.
"Huh?! Where is he?!" Twilight said.
"We don't know, the guards said they checked on him fifteen minutes before I got there with the release orders and he was just fine," The guard said.
"Those hoof cuffs would have prevented him from teleporting away, I don't understand," Twilight said.
The crusaders gasp and step forward.
"The Light! What if the light wasn't blocked?!" Apple Bloom said.
"Twilight, head back to Ponyville and see if he has returned there, we will search Canterlot and I will organise searches in every town in Equestria." Princess Celestia said.
Princess Celestia quickly writes something down on a scroll and hands it to the guard.
"This is a royal order to find those responsible for that warrant," Celestia said.
"Okay, let's go girls!" Twilight said and led everypony back outside.
"Yes, your highness!" The guard said bowing and then rushed off.
I open my eyes in a groggy state, lying on the ground and so I go to stand up, only, something is off, I look down to my hooves.
"W-what?! I have hands again?!" I say out loud.
"What the heck happened? Where am I?" I say, looking around.
I stand up and take a look at myself, I'm wearing a hooded jumper with a white shirt underneath it and blue jeans; I try to open a portal to Sweet Apple Acres but I can't feel my magic at all!
"W-what? Where's my magic?!" I say.
I then try and feel my light which I do feel.
"Oh! Yes!" I say, as I channel it around my body and can feel its enhancement, I test out my abilities quickly to know my limits in this place.
I find a nearby tree and punch it as hard as I can, the tree trunk shatters and the tree falls over, worried the noise might attract attention, I begin to run away when I notice that I'm running very fast.
So fast that the trees are blurring as I'm running past them. I quickly come across a small town with people walking around and cars driving on the roads. I approach the town and put my hood up.
As I get to the town, I hear glass breaking and a security alarm blaring, I look towards the alarm and see a man in a mask fleeing in my direction. I activate my light again and sprint up toward him and stop him from running by grabbing his shirt.
"Hey! What the-? Where did you come from?" The robber said.
I didn't answer and instead pulled his mask off and tied him to a nearby street light with his shirt, before super sprinting away again.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders were walking around town after having visited the local mall when they hear glass breaking and an alarm going off, they look towards the alarm and see a guy dressed in a mask, carrying a bag.
The Crusaders gasp watching him run away when out of nowhere a hooded figure appears in front of him and grabs his shirt, lifting him above the ground, pulling his mask off and then ties the robber up with his shirt before disappearing again.
"Awesome!" Scootaloo said.
"W-who is that?" Sweetie belle said.
"I'm not sure, but here comes the police!" Apple Bloom said, pointing at three approaching police cars.
The police swarm the man and arrest him, an officer approaches the girls and asks what happened.
I figure the towns guard will catch up to the man I tied up, I walk through the town, trying to see anything that would be a way home. Half an hour later, I'm walking past what I think are shops when I look into a window and see a T.V.!
"This world appears to have pre-golden age technology!" I think to myself.
I take notice of what's being played on the T.V. and am shocked to see the incident from half an hour ago playing from a nearby security camera, thankfully, it didn't record my face, only my back.
I continue walking, checking to see if anyone saw me, I hear a group of girls talking about the report nearby when a police car approaches me and stops.
Two police officers get out of the car and approach the café the girls were in, they were both female officers. They wave to the group of girls in a friendly hello before one of them spots me and nudges her partner.
The officers approach me.
"Hey youngster, haven't seen you around here before, you new round here?" The first officer said.
"Uh-uh, yeah, I sorta; Arrived today," I say, awkwardly.
The officers look at each other a bit confused but quickly look back at me, the group of girls from before came over to introduce themselves as well, but never got the chance.
Three girls come flying into the café and up to the six older girls.
"We saw a robbery foiled! It was amazing! This guy just appeared in front of the robber and picked him up like he was a feather!" They all said at once.
The officers look at each other.
"Sounds like that report from about half an hour ago," One of them said.
"Did you tell the police officers what happened?" One of the girls said.
The girls all nod their heads and were about to start speaking when they all spotted me.
The girls gasp and point at me.
"Hey! That's who stopped the robber! He has the same clothes on!" The girls all said at once.
I internally facepalm as the officers turn to me. They had just opened their mouth to speak when I turned and booked it as fast as I can.
"Hey! Wait!" I heard the officers say.
My light was drained and I couldn't use it yet so I had to rely on my own two feet.
"Oh, of course, you won't work light," I utter under my breath as I run.
I looked behind me and the officers were right behind me, the group of six girls were also behind the officers. I've got a full mob after me!
I take some sharp turns around some alleys and I seem to have lost the officers as I was a decent distance away from them, to begin with. I catch my breath for a few moments.
I exit the alley from the other side and nearly run straight into the group of six girls.
"Oh, War Beast sludge!" I say to myself and turn to run again.
The girl with rainbow hair grabs my shoulder and spins me around.
"Where do you think you're going, kid?!" She said, in a strangely familiar tone.
The girl with red and yellow hair grabs my wrist firmly but not like she was crushing it. I try and tug away from her grip but she only tightens it.
"Whoa, hang on there buddy, who are you and why are you running from the police?" She said in a strong yet still friendly tone.
"Let me go! Please! I don't want trouble." I said, panicked.
The girls were about to respond when I feel my light return enough for another use. I channel it and quickly tug my hand away from the girl and free myself, then sprint away.
"Hey!" Sunset Shimmer said in surprise.
"Where did that kid go?" Applejack said, looking around.
"What was that all about?" Rarity said.
The Crusaders run up behind their sisters.
"Who was that?" They asked together.
"We're not sure girls, but he was young, very young, about y'all's age." Applejack said.
The girls look at each other confused.
"How could someone our age be so strong?" Scootaloo said.
The girls just look at the older girls waiting for an answer.
Sunset sighs deeply.
"Equestrian magic most likely." She said.
Everyone gasps and eventually agrees.
"I'm not sure exactly how it would work but, I think some of it latched onto him when I brought the crown here," Sunset said with her head low and eyes closed.
"Well, we gotta find him then!" Applejack said.
"Yeah! We'll help too!" Sweetie Belle said.
My light drained once again, I stop and catch my breath and processed what had just happened. I couldn't stop thinking about the rainbow hair on the girl who grabbed me.
"I guess Rainbow Dash wouldn't be the only being with rainbow-coloured hair," I say out loud to myself as I continue walking.

Phew! What a twist eh? The next chapter will be entirely in the human world, focusing on Mex's attempts to get home and the slow realisation of something... important that I'm sure you have all already guessed.
