My New Life in Equestria.
Chapter 15:
There I was, walking the streets of this unknown place, the faces of the people around me replaced with screaming innocent victims of the cabal invasion. I looked away and it disappeared.
"I need to try and find a way home, I'm sure everypony is freaking out right now." I think to myself.
I continue to walk until a police car with different officers than before pulls up beside me, I remain as calm as I can and keep walking. The officer rolls down his window.
"Hey kid, why aren't you in school?" He said.
"I don't have school, I just got into town," I say, facing away from them.
The officers look at each other like they've heard that a million times before.
"Right, why don't you stop for a moment and we'll come out and have a chat?" The same officer says.
"No thank you, I have somewhere I need to be," I reply and walk a bit faster.
"Yeah, that wasn't a request kid, stop walking." The officer said, parking his vehicle.
A tall male officer and an average height female officer get out of the car and speed walks to catch up to me.
"Hold it kid, we need to ask you some questions, what's your name?" The female officer said.
"Dam it! I'm gonna have to run again, they'll be asking difficult questions I can't answer." I think to myself.
I take off like a rocket, no light boost but I can still run pretty fast, I head down a nearby alley.
"Hey! Stop!" I heard the female officer say, along with fast-paced footsteps behind me.
I continue down the alley, making quick turns in random order until I came across a house, I leapt over the fence, through their yard and over the other side, coming across a large building, I sprint for the door and enter.
I hide inside and can see police lights driving past on the road, I breathe a sigh of relief and walk further into the building. There are posters all along the wall displaying different things. I keep walking until a bell rings out.
"Wait a minute," I say out loud.
People of different ages flood the hall I was standing in, talking about too many topics for me to focus on one. I look down one hall and my eyes meet the same rainbow-haired girl from before.
The bell rings and the girls get up from their desks and head out of the door.
"So, how are we going to find that kid?" Rainbow Dash said.
"I don't think we should, the police know about him, so we should leave it up to them." Rarity said.
"Come on Rarity, the kid has Equestrian magic and is probably scared and confused, the police can't help him," Sunset Shimmer said.
"Oh, I suppose so," Rarity said.
"Oh, I know! Where do kids usually hang out around town?" Pinkie Pie said.
"Sugar Cube Corner? I don't think he'd go there," Fluttershy said.
"It's worth a shot at least," Rainbow Dash said.
The girls enter the hall and make their way to their lockers when Rainbow Dash gasps.
"Look! There he is!" She said.
The girls turn their heads to see the kid from before, going wide-eyed at the group and quickly walking away towards the door.
I stare at the group from before and my eyes go wide.
"Oh, dam it!" I think to myself.
I turn and begin to head towards the exit and take a quick look at the group again. The girls with rainbow and red and yellow hair are running towards me but I noticed too late as they reach me and grab my wrists again.
"Oh, no kid! Not this time," The girl with red and yellow hair said.
The girl with rainbow hair just glared at me.
"Let me go! I didn't do anything!" I say out loud but not yelling. And tugged at their grips.
Their grip got tighter.
"Just calm down and talk to us," The girl with red and yellow hair said.
"I'm Sunset Shimmer, what's your name?" She said.
I looked at her with distrust at first but figured if they turned aggressive, I could use my light to escape.
"M-Mex," I said quietly.
"What was that? What did you say?" Sunset said gently.
"M-my name is Mex," I said louder.
"Mex? Hello Mex, you know my name, and these are my friends." Sunset said gesturing to the girls as she speaks.
"The other one making sure you don't run off again is Rainbow Dash," Sunset said.
I gasp in shock.
"Wait, what?! How? What?!" I think to myself.
"And this is-" Sunset said before I cut her off.
"Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Applejack," I say, at my regular volume now.
The girls gasp as I say, this.
"H-how did you know that?" Applejack said.
"Is he psychic too?!" Pinkie said after picking her jaw off the ground.
I internally facepalm as I shouldn't have said that.
I stutter a bit and look away, not having an answer.
The girls let go of me.
"Why don't you come with us and we can talk more in-depth?" Sunset said.
"N-no thank you, I have a prior thing I need to get to," I say and take a step back.
Rainbow Dash immediately puts a hand on my shoulder and glares at me again, this was not a request.
"I-I suppose it can wait for a little while," I say.
They lead me into a room nearby and sit me down.
"Okay sweetie, why don't you start from when you got here?" Rarity said sitting across from me.
I can't exactly tell them I came from a place with magic and ponies, and not expect them to laugh at me.
"Well, I got into town today, and noticed there was a robbery happening, so I stopped it," I said.
The girls look at each other and then back to me.
"But, how did you stop it?" Rainbow Dash said.
I stutter a bit, trying to come up with a lie on the spot to explain the Light.
"U-uh, I just did, I ran up to him and subdued him," I said, mentally facepalming again.
"Hm, I think you used a bit more than speed to stop him, am I right?" Sunset Shimmer said, looking at me with a smile.
I shoot my eyes up to Sunset with a quiet gasp.
"W-what? What do you mean?' I say.
"I think you used Equestrian magic." She said.
"What?! They know about Equestria and magic?!" I think to myself.
"Y-you know about Equestria and magic?" I say surprised.
The girls giggle and look at Sunset.
"Oooh yeah, we know about Equestria and magic," Sunset said.
They bring me up to speed with what happened at the fall formal dance with Twilight's crown entering this world.
"I see, this portal Twilight came through, the one that leads back to Equestria? Where is it?" I asked.
"Why do you wanna know that?" Applejack said.
"Because that's where I'm from," I say.
The girls gasp in shock.
"You're from Equestria?!" Sunset said.
"Currently, I suppose," I say.
"How did you get here?" Sunset said.
I hesitate for a moment, not sure if I can tell them everything.
"I can trust these girls, I know I can, I trust my pony friends and they are the same girls." I think to myself.
"Okay, here's my story; You may call me insane but, here's the truth," I say.
"My name is Mex, a former guardian of the last city on earth,"
After my story the girls are left with their jaws hanging open, they all close their mouths and begin to process what I had just said.
Sunset was the first to speak.
"So, you died while on a mission?!" She said.
I nod my head, flashing back to the memories of that day. I shake the memories away.
"So, this portal you spoke of, where is it?" I ask.
"I'm afraid the portal won't be opening for about ten days, but the portal is the statue out by the front of the school, you know, the stallion that's rearing up?" Sunset said, shaking off the shock.
I groan and curl up into a ball.
"Hey, it won't be that bad, it's not too long," Sunset said.
"No, I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about my friends back in Equestria searching for me in a panic for ten days," I say, sounding sad. I stand up.
"Where are you going?" Sunset said.
"Well, I'm gonna explore the town for a bit, see what's where and all that," I say.
I head towards the door and open it.
"It was great talking to you, I'll see you all around," I say and head out the door.
The door opens seconds after and the girls walk up beside me again.
"Hey wait a second! You can't just walk around town unsupervised." Applejack said.
I let out a little laugh.
"Yeah, I think that's what the police wanted to talk to me about before I ran for it; I'll be fine, I'll just avoid the main roads," I say.
The girls look at each other with confusion but, continue walking after me, a few moments later, I come across the three girls from the café, the ones who pointed me out to the six older girls.
That was when a realisation hit me if these girls were like my pony friends, then these three must be the Crusaders! I smile as I take a step toward them but stop.
"They won't know who I am and I shouldn't disrupt their lives just so I can be happier, that goes for the six older girls as well." I think to myself.
I decide to leave them alone and head to the front doors, I turn around and wave goodbye to the human versions of my friends who attempt to follow me but are stopped by an adult who has the same colour hair as Princess Celestia.
"Where are you girls going?" She said with a raised eyebrow.
I took this as my chance and started speed walking away from the school. I give a quick wave to the girls as I leave.
After a few hours of exploring the town and obtaining some food, I notice the sun setting behind the horizon.
"Guess I'd better find a comfy leaf pile to sleep on for the night," I think to myself.
I head back in the direction of the field I woke up in, on my way there I find a decent-sized tree that has a perfect area to sleep in.
I climb up the tree and get comfy, I reflect on everything that has happened today when I decide to meditate.
Sitting up in my makeshift bed, I get ready and close my eyes. Almost immediately, my mind is flooded with memories of my life as a guardian again and the happy memories I've made in Equestria. The mixture of memories distracted me from my meditation and broke my focus.
My eyes shoot open and I am lightly sweating, I wipe it away and lay back down, I drift off to sleep, crying a little over the worry I've no doubt caused my friends.
I feel the warmth of the sun on my face as I wake, I sit up and do a little stretch.
"Haven't slept in a tree since I was a guardian," I say out loud to no one.
I begin climbing down the tree, and just before making the final drop to the ground and too late to abort, I hear voices walking down the path, I land on the ground and hear gasps. I turn around and see the Crusaders staring at me. My face drops.
"Oh, uh, sorry, didn't mean to startle you, girls," I say and begin walking past them.
"Hey, you're the boy, who stopped that robbery, aren't you?" Apple Bloom said.
"Oh yeah! I thought I knew him from somewhere." Sweetie Belle said.
"That was awesome by the way! How did you do it?!" Scootaloo said.
I turn around to face them.
"Uh, trade secret, sorry. Have a good day." I say with a head nod.
"Wait! We're going to the café for some milkshakes and cupcakes, wanna come with?" Sweetie Belle said.
"Hold on girls, we haven't introduced ourselves yet, my name is Apple Bloom." Apple Bloom said.
"I'm Sweetie Belle, pleased to meet you!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Scootaloo, could you teach me how to kick that much tail?" Scootaloo said.
I smile and remember that these same girls in Equestria have most likely cried in pain because of my disappearance, my heart aches but I ignore it.
"N-names Mex, good to meet you all." I sputter out.
"And, sorry, but I don't have any money, maybe next time," I say and take a step away again.
"That's okay, we have a coupon for a free cupcake and milkshake, you can have it." Apple Bloom said.
"What's a coupon?" I think to myself but smile and nod.
"Wow, thank you, in that case, yes I would love a cupcake and milkshake, lead the way," I say out loud.
Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle let out a giggle and grab my hand and lead me towards the café.
"Has anyone heard anything about Mex? I couldn't sleep at all last night because I was so worried about him" Fluttershy said.
"I know what you mean, I certainly didn't get a pleasant rest either." Rarity said.
"What should we do? How do we find him?" Sunset said.
The cafe bell rings and the Crusaders plus Mex walk inside the store, the girls take Mex to their regular table and sit down.
"Hey, there he is!" Applejack said pointing out Mex to the others.
The girls all turn their heads and see Mex sitting with the girls.
"Let's start by asking him." Rainbow Dash said.
The girls all stand up and quickly march over to Mex.
"Hey, kid! Where have you been? You had us all worried sick!" Sunset said.
I turn my head and see the girls from yesterday glaring at me with their hands on their hips.
"Uh, I went exploring remember?" I say.
"We mean where did you sleep last night mister?" Applejack said.
"I-I hardly think that matters, you six are not responsible for me," I say.
"You were in the tree when we found you, what were you doing up there?" Scootaloo said.
I internally facepalm.
"Waking up, thanks Scootaloo," I say in a light sarcastic tone.
"You slept in a tree?!, The six said at once.
"Yes, I did, it is far from the worst place I've ever slept, trust me on that, and that is where I'll be for the remainder of my stay until I can return to Equestria," I say.
"You're from Equestria?!" The Crusaders say together.
I turn to the girls.
"Long story, tell you later," I say and turn back to the six.
"Please, I appreciate your concern for me, but there's no need, I'll be fine," I say, smiling.
"Yeah, it doesn't work like that kid," Rainbow Dash said, leaning closer to me.
"Rainbow Dash is right, we can't just stop worrying about you," Fluttershy said.
"Perhaps I should have learnt my lesson, from the six in Equestria, of course, they would be the same." I think to myself and smile.
"Look," I said softly.
"I just don't wanna put any of you out, you shouldn't have to worry about me," I said with a hopeful smile.
The girls glared at me with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah, didn't think that would happen," I say while standing.
"Alright, let's get this over with, who am I staying with?" I say, defeated.
"And don't even think about using your magic to run away again," Sunset said.
My eyes shift quickly between the girls, I smile and chuckle.
"W-whaaat? I-I never even..." I said before clearing my throat and for once in my life decided it would be best to shut up...
After deciding I would stay with Rarity and Sweetie Belle in the human world, the girls kindly allowed me to stay with the Crusaders until it was Sweetie Belle's curfew. I now shared Sweetie Belle's curfew.
After re-joining the table, the girls are glaring at me like their sisters had been minutes before with an expectant look.
"Guess I uh, have some stories to tell huh?" I say.
The girls nod and off I go repeating everything I had told the six, from my time as a guardian, to now. The girls listened intently.
"W-wait, you died and came back to life?" Scootaloo said.
"Mhm, multiple times, thousands of times," I say nodding my head.
"Until the last mission I was on, Pholmo killed my ghost and then me, therefore suffering my final, and permanent death, took her with me though," I said with a chuckle and took a sip of my milkshake.
"Whoa." Apple Bloom said with wide-open eyes.
Sweetie Belle had a tear down her cheek but quickly wiped it away.
"I-I can't imagine one person going through all of that." She said.
Sweetie Belle engulfed me in a hug as she was sitting next to me and I hugged back, telling her it was fine and that I'm away from that place now, this calmed her down and she let go.
We finished our cupcakes and milkshakes and got up from the table, Apple Bloom hugged me the moment she could, dragging Scootaloo in with her as well who didn't say anything.
"Hey, come on girls," I say.
"Just let it happen, this is how we welcome new friends." Apple Bloom said.
I smile and fully return the hugs.
"They are making me feel better after all. I just hope my Crusaders back home aren't too worried." I think to myself.
It's getting late and we decide to hang out again tomorrow as it's the start of the weekend and that means no school.
Sweetie Belle and I are walking back to Rarity's place when she turns to me.
"Mex? C-can I ask you something?" She said.
"Sure, what's up?" I say.
"W-what was it like to die?" She said.
I stop in my tracks and face her.
"After a while, I just got used to it but," I say and close my eyes, remembering the first death I had shortly after awakening as a guardian.
"The first time, it was cold, darkness all around, like a cloud made of darkness was infesting my mind, surrounded by the empty black of oblivion; Only to have a white spark rip me back into the land of the living with a sharp breath of air filled with smoke." I think to myself.
"It- it's not pleasant at all, very cold," I say out loud.
Sweetie Belle shivers and looks at me.
I'm sorry you had to go through that so many times Mex," she said.
I smile.
"Thank you, Sweetie Belle, I-I'm working through it back home, you three girls are helping me with that," I say.
"We are?" She said.
We walk the rest of the way as I explain Doctor T's plan to help me recover.
Before long, we arrive at Rarity's abode and Sweetie Belle lets me in.
"Is that you Sweetie Belle?" We heard Rarity say from another room.
"Uh-huh! We're home! Can I help you with dinner?" Sweetie Belle said.
"No no! Just take Mex up to your room to play while I finish up here," she said in a slight panicky tone.
I was going to offer to help but decided to leave it, some people take a lot of pride in their cooking I guess. Sweetie Belle takes my hand and leads me to her room.
"This is where I think of things my friends and I can do when we have time, you can help me think of things to do while you're here!" She said, clearly excited.
"Sounds like fun! What do we do while we wait for Rarity to call us?" I say.
"Oh, uh, by the way, where do I sleep?" I ask.
"In here, I think Rarity has a mattress stored away somewhere," Sweetie replied.
"As for your other question, um, how about we come up with some things for us all to do tomorrow?" Sweetie said.
"Sounds good, what'd you have in mind?" I said.
Sweetie Belle and I talked about activities for us all to do tomorrow for ten minutes until Rarity called up to us.
"Sweetie Belle? Mex? Dinner is ready." We heard from downstairs.
"Okay Rarity! Coming!" Sweetie called back.
"Let's go!" Sweetie Belle said to me as she grabbed my hand and led me back down the stairs.
As we get to the bottom of the stairs, a wonderful smell wafts into my nose.
"Oh! What is that wonderful smell Rarity?" I ask.
"Pumpkin soup darling, have you had it before?" Rarity said.
"No, but it's among the best things I've ever smelled across my multiple lives," I say with my eyes closed, enjoying the smell.
"Well, aren't you a sweet talker Mex?" Rarity said with a giggle.
Sweetie Belle giggled as well, followed by me.
"Just wait till you try it!" Sweetie Belle said.
We all sat down and ate our meal, with Rarity asking questions about the fashion of the guardian world, I told her about the rather dull-looking armour most of us wore but that we spice it up sometimes with shaders.
She seemed interested in shaders, very interested in shaders. When she was telling me about the plans for where I'm sleeping, I hear a distant scream and shout. I jerk my head up and look in the direction of the window where I heard it.
"Is everything okay Mex?" Rarity said.
"Did you two hear that?" I say, still looking at the window.
"No." The sisters said at the same time.
"That was a scream," I think to myself.
"I need to help them, but I know Rarity won't let me go out this late." I think to myself.
"Excuse me, where is the bathroom?" I ask politely.
"Down the hall to the right," Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
"Thank you, I'll be right back," I say.
I speed walk over to the bathroom and go straight for the window, I lift it and climb out, as I land on the ground, I hear the scream again, this time it was more desperate.
I activate my light and draw my hood up on my head and run off in the direction of the scream, it doesn't take me long to come across the sight of a burning car on the side of the road with a lady and child trapped inside.
I zip over to the bent car door and tear it off the hinge, the lady carries the child and I help them both to a safe distance from the car when it erupts into a ball of fire as the fuel tank ignites and explodes.
After making sure they didn't have any bad injuries, I took off again back towards Rarity's home. And into the window, I flush the toilet and wash my hands and come back into the dining area to finish eating.
"Thanks for that, just needed to freshen up a bit," I say as I sit back down.
"No problem! We've got ice cream for dessert! Hope you've got room Mex!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Oh, I've always got room for ice cream," I said with a smile.
The sisters laughed and Rarity got up to prepare the ice cream.
It has been half an hour since we finished our ice cream and Rarity has put the television on for half an hour before she'll be sending us to bed. Out of nowhere, a "breaking news" broadcast interrupts the show we were watching.
"We apologise for the interruption; this is breaking news." A news anchor said.
Rarity looked up from her book when she heard that.
"A one-car crash involving a young mother and her infant child was saved today by a quote "Hooded Hero," The anchor said.
"We go live now to our reporter Becky at the scene, Becky?" The anchor said.
My heart dropped instantly when I saw this.
"We're still getting new information but what we know so far, is that this mother of one lost control of her vehicle and crashed into this tree," Becky said.
"The resulting damage caused her fuel tank to leak and catch fire, that was when the mother said, an angel came and saved her," Becky said.
The picture changed to an interview with the woman I pulled from the car.
"I mean, it had to have been an angel, they moved so fast and were so strong, he just tore the door right off the hinge and helped me out with my child." The mother said.
"And can you describe your hero?" Becky said.
"Not really no, although I do know they were wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans." The lady said.
I quietly gasped and quickly looked down at my clothes and then at the girls who were already looking at me.
"Wow, crazy huh?" I said.
"Yes, quite." She said, looking at me and raising an eyebrow.
"I didn't know these clothes were so common around here," I said with a slightly nervous chuckle.
"Oh yes, there are plenty of people wearing your exact clothing who are also super-powered." Rarity said in a heavily sarcastic tone.
"Alright, alright, I zipped up to help them when I went to the bathroom, but if I hadn't done that then," I said when I stopped myself.
"It's okay darling, I understand, you did well but, you're in my care now," Rarity said with a smile.
"Okay, I understand," I said.
"Make sure to tell you before I run off?" I say with a cheeky smile.
Sweetie Belle giggled at my reply and Rarity soon followed.
"You'll need a mask if you're gonna be a superhero Mex!" Sweetie Belle said.
"A "superhero"? What's that?" I say.
"No Sweetie, it's far too dangerous for-" Rarity said before I cut her off.
"A super-powered individual?" I said with a chuckle.
Rarity narrowed her eyes at me.
A few moments pass until she lets out a grunt.
"Fine, but if you're going to be doing this, we're telling the other girls as well, and I'll design a super fabulous costume for you!" Rarity said with eyes sparkling like stars.
"Oh, that's why she agreed to it," Sweetie Belle said, giggling.
I giggled along with her as we stood up to help with the dishes.
Sweetie Belle and I were getting ready for bed while Rarity set up the spare mattress on the floor of Sweetie Belle's room when I heard another cry for help, I sprung up from where I was sitting and listened closely.
"Mex? What is it?" Sweetie Belle said.
"Another cry for help, excuse me," I say.
"But wait! You don't have a mask!" Sweetie said.
"I'll be careful, Rarity? I'll be back soon!" I say and activate my light.
I zip out of the front door this time and quickly arrive in the general area I heard the cry. I hear another scream and cry close by and run over to it, I see a masked man running away from a lady while carrying a bag.
"Come on dude," I said to myself.
I zip up to the guy and grab the back of his shirt, I tie him up to a nearby tree using his shirt just like the jewel thief and grab the bag, I pull off his mask and zip back to the lady. I hand the bag back to her and point at the man tied to a tree and then take off before she said anything.
I arrive back at Rarity's place and remove my hood; I was gone for a total of thirty seconds.
"Wow! That was fast!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Yup, just some guy who stole this lady's purse, he was easy pickings," I said.
"I'm still going to worry about you Mex," Rarity said putting a hand on my shoulder.
I look at her and smile.
"I know you will, but it's in my nature to help and protect people, this is something I have to do," I say.
Rarity ruffles my hair and ushers me to bed in my newly set up floor mattress.
"Goodnight you two," Rarity said as she flicked the light off and closed the door.
"Goodnight Rarity!" We both said.
A few seconds after Rarity had left, Sweetie Belle turns to me.
"Hey Mex?" She said.
"Yeah?" I reply.
"Do you miss Equestria?" She asked.
"Yeah, I do, I miss my friends most of all, they took such good care of me when they didn't have to," I say.
"It hurts to know how much panic they must be going through right now, not knowing where I am," I say with a sniffle, as I was trying to bury my emotions.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Sweetie said with a genuine soothing tone.
"Yes, I would, I really would," I say.
It's early morning when I open my eyes to find Sweetie Belle cuddled up to me just like Apple Bloom does back in Equestria.
I chuckle at this as I remember why she was even down here with me. After venting my concerns about Equestria and feeling true concern for the first time, my emotions got the better of me and Sweetie Belle joined me on my mattress to comfort me.
I get up out of bed and make sure not to disturb Sweetie Belle, I sit down a few meters from the mattress and begin a meditation session. During my meditation, I calm down my anxieties about the worry I'm causing my friends back in Equestria.
I shift my meditation to the Light and can feel myself lift off the ground, I gain access to more Light and can feel my reserves growing, I'm just about finished when I hear Sweetie Belle's voice.
"Mex? What's going on? Are you okay?" I hear her say.
I hear the door open and Rarity enters.
"Sweetie Belle? What's going-" she said when she stopped herself and looked at me, she gasped.
"Mex Darling? Is everything alright?" Rarity said.
I end my meditation session and land on the ground, I open my eyes and they are pure white for a moment.
"Yes, it was just my morning meditation, I'm fine," I reply.
The girls continue to stare in a state of shock for a moment when they sigh a breath of relief and relax when Rarity walks back downstairs to continue making breakfast, still looking a little confused.
"That. Was. Awesome!" Sweetie Belle said.
I laugh a little. Remembering Apple Blooms and Applejack's reaction to it the first time.
"Why thank you, Sweetie Belle. Shall we go to breakfast?" I say.
Sweetie Belle nods her head and grabs my hand to lead me down the stairs.
The most wonderful smell wafts up my nose when we reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Ooh, what is that amazing smell?" I say.
Rarity giggles from the kitchen and pokes her head around the corner.
"Thank you, darling, we're having French toast for breakfast, come and grab a seat." She said.
After breakfast, Sweetie grabs my hand and rushes me towards the door.
"Bye Rarity! I'm taking Mex with me to hang out with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo!" She said.
"Hold on a moment!" Rarity said.
She approaches us with a costume on a coat hanger.
"This is your costume for your hero activities Mex, make sure to put the mask on as well." Rarity said giggling.
I take a good look at the costume, it is primarily white with a gold trim running down the sides in the form of a lightning bolt, just like the hoodie I was wearing, the warlock symbol was embraided on the chest (I had described it to her last night) the mask was a standard white face mask with along with some white goggle-like glasses that along with the hood, formed my mask.
"Whoa," I said.
I take the costume to the bathroom and quickly put it on, I'll admit, I looked really good in it, I put the mask on and stepped outside again.
The girls looked up at me and gasped.
"Whoa! You look so cool!" Sweetie said.
"I know right?!" I said, giving myself a look.
"Yes, you do look great don't you?" Rarity said with a smile.
"And don't worry, I still remember what we talked about, I'll be careful," I said, looking at Rarity.
"You had better! I'll be telling the girls today," Rarity said.
I put my regular clothes over the top of my costume, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. Sweetie Belle grabs my hand again and starts leading me outside.
"Come on Mex! Let's go! We're meeting the girls on the edge of town," Sweetie said and lead me out the door.
After meeting up with the girls we began walking through town talking about what to do.
"What about the mall?" Scootaloo said.
"Yeah! I'll bet you haven't been to a mall before Mex, right?" Apple Bloom said.
"Can't say that I have no," I say.
"It's decided! Let's go to the mall!" Sweetie Belle said before grabbing my hand and leading me away.
It doesn't take long to arrive and the girls take no time in showing me to their favourite shops.
"This is where we eat when we're hungry, most of the time anyway," Scootaloo said.
"Over there is the smoothie shop, Applejack works there!" Apple Bloom said.
"At a smoothie shop?" I said.
"And over there is the arcade where we play games!" Sweetie Belle said.
"Ooh! That sounds fun! Can we go there first? Unless you guys wanna eat first?" Apple Bloom said.
We all agreed to go to the arcade first so they can show me some games they like to play, for the first time I started to believe that I could live a full life of peace, not having to worry about time the Cabal invade, or the Hive performing their rituals.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of shop keeper yelling.
"Thief! Someone stop that man! He stole from me!" He said.
I look around and see a man running from the shop holding a bag and people getting out of the way.
I dart around a corner where no one would see me and quickly change into my costume. I channel my light and speed up to him. He gasps and attempts to swing his fist at me. I step out of the way.
"Stealing is wrong you know," I say with my arms crossed.
"Get out of my way or I'll-" Was all he said before I rushed up to him, grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back and then kicked out his leg so he falls to the ground.
"Do not move or it will be worse for you," I said in a calm voice.
The shopkeeper and what looks to be a security force guard come running up to me.
"Thank you, thank you! Who are you?" The shopkeeper said.
I looked over at him and then the girls and smiled.
"I am a friend, and I'm here to help," I say with a smile under my mask.
"This is going to be an interesting week, a very interesting week indeed, "I think to myself.

Hey everypony! Sorry that this chapter was a tad dry but I had trouble coming up with things for Mex to do in the human world so, I turned him into a superhero!
The next chapter will see Mex going home and reuniting with his pony friends, can't wait to see y'all there!
