...

Izuku spent the rest of the day in his camper in peace. The katsudon had been perfect and it continued to remind him of his time in JP's. The homesickness was eating at him and made him want to surrender to Yamato. If only to try and rebuild the relationship between them again.

That night he was unable to sleep. Anytime he tried nightmares plagued him. The memory of losing Yamato playing over and over in his mind. After the third time waking up screaming he gave up all attempts at sleeping.

Instead he changed into a normal hoodie and pants before heading into the city. Almost as an afterthought he put one of his knives up into the pocket of his hoodie. Just in case. Maybe walking it off would allow him to push aside the memories. The city was quiet and no one seemed to be out given the hour.

In his chest he felt the loneliness that had continued to build. At this point he would prefer Alcor to come by for a visit. The demon might be annoying occasionally but he would still be better company than his thoughts.

Unlike when he would patrol looking for trouble Izuku stayed in the street lights. No point in taking unnecessary risks. His chest ached with the loneliness that refused to leave.

He passed by a few open shops mostly internet cafes that were open. From his position he could see a few customers inside. They weren't anything special and he didn't recognize anyone. After twenty minutes Izuku was in downtown Musutafu. The quietness in the city was making the loneliness in his heart even worse.

As he turned to head back towards the beach he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. He was being watched. Almost as soon as he recognized the feeling Izuku reached for the knife in his pocket. With his other hand he grabbed his phone ready to cast magic. He tried to glance around to see where the person might be. There was nothing out of the ordinary though. He couldn't sense the magic that would indicate a demon or JP's agent. This was not Alcor either. Alcor wouldn't just stay in the shadows.

There was nothing to indicate what was causing his senses to fire off. What was going on? Then he felt it. The air shifted as if something was being thrown at him. He dodged to the right narrowly avoiding a grab from behind. A stocky six foot tall man tried to grapple with him.

Izuku tried to put space between them realizing it was an attack. Either they were wanting to hurt or kill him. Not unusual given his status but he didn't have anything they could want. He continued to avoid the grapple techniques. Unfortunately without a weapon being drawn on him meant he couldn't justify drawing his knife.

However he could fight back and as the man came at him again Izuku kicked at the man's knee. It buckled underneath him and sent him crashing to the gravel.

"You little shit," snarled the man his voice and hoarse, "I'll kill you."

Izuku nonchalantly replied, "I don't know why you are attacking me. It's not like I have anything of value to steal."

He didn't bother to answer instead went straight back to attacking Izuku. Izuku fell quickly into a rhythm of blocking and landing small powerful strikes to force him to back off. It was obviously getting to the would-be attacker that he was losing to a kid.

Until a familiar grey scarf shot out of the darkness and wrapped around the man's arm as it went for another punch. It went taught around the arm preventing another attack. Both Izuku and the man turned to where the capture scarf came from. Eraserhead stood there his hand holding tightly onto the scarf. His eyes blazed red with his quirk activated.

They didn't get much of a chance to consider what the hero was doing here. He lunged and struck the man across the jaw. The man went down and stayed down. Zip Ties were pulled out and tied the man's hands together.

Once the criminal was secured Eraser turned to face him. He asked gruffly, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

Izuku's jaw was hanging open in surprise. Eraser was here? What in the world was he doing here?

"Kid," Eraser tried again concern flashing through his eyes, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

Izuku blinked and came back to himself. He gave a fake smile and said, "I'm fine. Thank you, Eraserhead!"

Eraser blinked at him and asked, "You know who I am?"

He rubbed the back of his neck as he said, "Yeah I'm a hero nerd. I can recognize most heroes on sight even the underground ones."

Eraser hummed before pulling his phone out of his pocket and dialing someone. He spoke too quiet for Izuku to hear. It made him nervous despite the fact that he wasn't wearing his vigilante gear.

The two waited for about ten minutes before a dark sedan arrived and out came Tsukauchi and Sansa. It made his hackles rise and he wanted to take a defensive stance. He shoved down the unease that filled him.

Tsukauchi spoke quietly with the hero. Sansa for his part was hauling the criminal up to his feet and went to put him in the back of the police car. Then the cat headed man then came around to stand with him.

He asked warmly, "Are you okay, kitten? The man didn't hurt you?"

"I'm okay," he answered easily watching Tsukauchi from the corner of his eye, "I don't know why he attacked me though."

Sansa's smile went feral as he said, "There's no telling what his issue was. However he won't be bothering you again. My partner will guarantee it."

"Thank you."

Tsukauchi was heading over now having finished with Eraser. Dark eyes gave him a quick once over before he greeted, "Are you well?"

This time Izuku rolled his eyes as he replied, "Again, I'm fine. Can I go home now?"

"Let's talk first," reasoned Tsukauchi, "Can you tell me what happened?"

Izuku gave the truth of what had happened but did not tell him about the knife in his pocket. There was no need to tell them about it as he never used it. The detective and hero exchanged a look that sent a shiver down his spine. Did they suspect something?

Finally though Tsukauchi asked, "What are you doing out so late? You can't be older than 10."

"I'm twelve thank you very much," snapped back Izuku.

The only response he got from the detective was a raised eyebrow. Eraser smirked at him over Tsukauchi's shoulder. The irresistible urge to stick his tongue out at him. To his left let out a genuine laugh.

Tsukauchi tried again, "Why are you out this later? Shouldn't a child your age be in bed?"

Izuku turned his head so he could eye Tsukauchi carefully, "I couldn't sleep. So I went for a walk. I was just about to head home when I was attacked."

Eraser gave a subtle questioning glance at Tsukauchi. Just as subtle Tsukauchi nodded affirmation. He was telling the truth.

Eraser said, "You realize it's three in the morning right?"

"I couldn't sleep. However if we are done here I'd like to go home."

The detective and hero shared a look. Then Tsukauchi said, "Given tonight's activities one of us should take you home."

"That's not necessary," he tried to argue.

"Oh but it is, kid," insisted Eraser, "Tsukauchi I'll take him home. Do you have this?"

Tsukauchi waved him off. Eraser took him by the arm heading away from the area.
