Summary: when Levy goes to therapy for her book addiction….nothing exciting happens.

Pairings: Levy/Books, some Parental Master/Levy, and other general family feels.

YouTube Prompt: Couples tribute to 'Resonate' by Journey.

When Levy assaulted a Council Member for accidentally spilling his water over a book she was in the middle of translating as a favour (in order to make the Council forget some of the repair fees Fairy Tail owed them), it was decided that maybe Levy McGarden was a little too attached to books for it to be considered healthy and she was instantly sentenced to a six week therapy course to help with her addiction.

Her therapist stared at her in disbelieve.

"Books?!" he repeated horrified. "You're sent here because you're addicted to book?! What nonsense! There is nothing harmful in reading!"

"I know, right?" Levy said with wide-eyed innocence. "All I did was get a little upset because the Counsellor spilt water over a rare and ancient book of lost magic and the next thing I know I'm here."

"Nonsense," her therapist grumbled, "utter nonsense. I don't know the Council these days has been going downhill." He gave Levy an assessing look over his glasses and then slowly a gentle smile crossed his face. "You seem like a nice girl and I don't care for this ridiculous notion of needing to be cured from a book addiction, so how about for the next six weeks you think of this as an hour to read while I get some much needed paperwork done?"

Levy's face brightened up at that. "I'd like that very much!" she beamed.

"Very well."

And then they lapsed into silence as the therapist set to work on his paperwork and Levy curled up in an armchair to read the latest fantasy novel from one of her favourite writers. The hour was almost up when the therapist looked up and took in the sight of such a small, innocent, quiet, and good girl sitting all curled up as she looked utterly raptured by her book.

And the Magic Council warned him that she might induce him into window jumping…..honestly! People these days….

"See here brats!" Master barked six weeks later a he held up an important looking piece of paper. "This is what passing therapy like a normal person looks like. No window repairs, no disciplinary meetings, no therapists needing a strait jackets, just a nice, simple, normal piece of paper stating that Levy McGarden has passed therapy. Why can't you all be as good and sensible and wonderful as Levy, huh?"

Levy flushed under the scrutiny of Master's approval and affection and the disgruntled glares of her fellow guild mates. She could have sworn she heard Gray call her a suck-up when Master reached out and patted her on the head but she didn't have time to dwell on it when Natsu (who had tried to fight Laxus again) suddenly went flying into her table and accidentally dropped a fireball on one of her books.

Her eyes widened in horror as she took in the fact a rare tome of legends written in Ancient Fiore language went up in flames.

Her heart hammered furiously, her blood boiled, and her head pounded with a rage that drowned out all of her senses….

"NATSU!" she screeched furiously as she grabbed the boy by his scarf. "Do you know how valuable that book is?" she hissed as she shook him hard. "Do you?!"

"Erm…." Natsu squeaked, looking utterly terrified, "…more than I can afford?" he offered meekly.

"More than your life!" Levy snarled. "Even if I were to scrap you for parts I would never be able to replace that book. YOU INCONSIDERATE ARSE!"

And with that she suddenly flipped Natsu over her shoulder, picked up another (less rare) book, and used it to repeatedly batter Natsu over the head. It took not only Jet and Droy but also Erza and Laxus to pull her - kicking and screaming - off of Natsu, who was now bleeding due to the many papercuts Levy had inflicted on him.

"LET ME AT HIM!" Levy shrieked as she squirmed against Laxus' stronger arms like a wild animal. "LET ME AT HIM! MY BOOK MUST BE AVENGED!"

Everyone stared at the red-faced, screaming, hysterical Levy in shock as they tried to compute what they had just witnessed.

"…Are you sure she passed therapy?" Gray blurted out eventually. "Because it sure hell doesn't look like it."

"Five jewels says she cheated," Cana said shrewdly, "somehow, someway, she cheated."

"But….but….but….Levy is supposed to be the good one!" Master wailed. "And if she's like this what does that say about the rest of you?!"

"Oi!" Laxus barked on everyone's behalf. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

But he didn't get an answer as his grandfather spent the rest of the afternoon sobbing like a baby about how he was doomed for all eternity.
