disclamation: I still do not own the 'Digimon' anime or the story of 'Cinderella'. the only thing I truly own is this fanfiction. all rights of ownership in the 'Digimon' anime are reserved for Hiroyuki Kakudo. as for the story of 'Cinderella', it is owned by the folks of the Walt Disney Animation Studios Company, and before them Charles Perrault, and before even him the amazing Brothers Grimm. I know that they never really did have the word 'amazing' before their joint name, I just added that part as my homage to Wilhelm Grimm and his brother, Jacob.

Within the next day, a car arrives at the chateau. Actually, car is an understatement as it looks more of a limousine. The limo has a woman in the back with two young girls. The driver, however, is a man.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: And so, Haruhiko remarried, and chose for his second wife, Sakura Motomiya, a woman who had also grief, herself. And she had two daughters just Sora's age. By name, they were called Leilani and Jun.

The limousine arrives at the chateau and chases Mr. Goose, as Sora has always called the head gander of the chateau's geese flock, into the courtyard. It comes dangerously close to running poor Mr. Goose over.

Back in the house, Sora is seen repeating her mother, Toshiko's, dying words.

Sora Takenouchi: Maintain the love in your heart and be brave and kind.

Sora hugs Haruhiko on his way to welcome their new family.

Haruhiko Takenouchi: Welcome, ladies. Welcome.

Then, Haruhiko walks up to their limousine, and escorts them into the house.

Girl's voice: Good Lord, she's skinny as a broomstick.

Another girl's voice: And that fluffy, fat hair.

The two girls from the limousine laugh at Sora for her hair, the girl in lime green more than the girl in flamingo pink, though. But it does not matter which one of them is more awful to Sora as they both seem to not like her as much as they are letting on.

The girl in lime green wears her hair even more unmanageably than Sora, herself, does. The girl in flamingo pink has a little more right to criticize Sora about her hair, but not by much.

Haruhiko and Sora try to make their new family feel welcome anyway. Haruhiko helps the girl in lime green out of their limousine, while the girl in flamingo pink simply states…

Girl in Flamingo Pink: I can handle it. Thanks a bunch, anyway.

The girl in lime green, however, at least thanks Haruhiko for being a gentleman and helping her out of the limousine.

Sora Takenouchi: It's a pleasure. I'm so happy to meet you.

Girl in Flamingo Pink: Your hair is so pretty. It's absolutely feathery and fabulous.

Sora Takenouchi: Thank you. You're too kind.

Girl in Lime Green: You should have it styled.

Sora Takenouchi: Oh, I'm sure you're right. Would you like a tour of the house?

Girl in Lime Green: What did she just say?

Girl in Flamingo Pink: She wants to show us around her farmhouse.

Girl in Lime Green: Why would she wanna do that?

Girl in Flamingo Pink: I suppose it's because she's proud to live in it. We gratefully accept your invitation to a tour of your farmhouse…

Sora Takenouchi: Sora. My full name is Sora Takenouchi.

Boy's voice: Hey, Sora, you actually look like a girl today.

Sora suddenly turns around to see her male friend/brotherly figure from another chateau just outside of the forest, Taichi 'Tai' Yagami/Kamiya, is the one who is talking to her that way.

Sora Takenouchi: That's because I am a girl, you eighth wit.

Taichi 'Tai' Yagami/Kamiya: Yeah, but today, you actually look it.

Sora Takenouchi: Well, girl or boy, I can still whoop your butt in any sport and not just soccer.

While the girl in lime green is not even a little bit interested in Sora's claim of whooping this guy's butt in any sport, the girl in flamingo pink actually starts to feel at least some genuine interest in her new stepsister for the first time since the two of them have met Sora just a few minutes prior.

Girl in Flamingo Pink: Well, this might just be something I have definitely got to see. Maybe, there might be some benefits to having a tomboy like this girl as our stepsister, after all.

Girl in Lime Green: Well, the only thing I'm actually concerned about is whether or not this farmhouse keeps animals inside of it.

Sora Takenouchi: No, we do not generally keep animals inside, other than the common house mouse.

Girl in Flamingo Pink: Oooh, that is so not good.

Sora Takenouchi: Why would that be?

Girl in Flamingo Pink: A little advice, girl to well… tomboy, don't let these house mice get anywhere near our food and our mother will not have to sic her cat on them.

It is then that an ugly, weird-looking black cat-like creature shows itself on the way out of the limousine along with the new stepsisters' mother.

Stepmother: Well, this place certainly is very charming. Who's your decorator, my new husband? BlackGatomon, welcome to our new home.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Her stepmother-to-be was a woman of keen feeling and refined taste. And she, too, had known grief via the death of a loved one.

The stepmother comes into the Takenouchi Residence and wears a smile on her face as though to say, 'this is my house, now'.

Back outside, Sora and her father once again embrace one another. Sora giggles a little, but that smile of hers fades when Haruhiko goes back into the house, as though she is hoping she has done the right thing for her father's sake.

Back inside the house, Sakura is seen taking a look around the living room in the parlor at her widower husband's deceased wife when she is met with by Haruhiko.

Sakura Motomiya: You didn't say your daughter was so beautiful.

Haruhiko Takenouchi: Well, she did inherit her looks from me.

Sakura Motomiya: You also neglected to mention to me how loving and kind she was.

Haruhiko Takenouchi: In that regard, she takes after her…

Haruhiko caught himself looking back on old times, but he caught himself much too late for his second wife not to know what he was about to say.

Sakura Motomiya: Her mother. Just say it.

The girl in lime green suddenly joined her mother and new stepfather inside the house while the girl in flamingo pink was still outside watching Sora kick Tai's butt at soccer and plenty of other sports as she said she could.

Girl in Lime Green: How long did you say that your family has lived here?

Haruhiko Takenouchi: For over two hundred years.

Girl in Lime Green: And in all that time, you never even once thought to decorate?

Sakura Motomiya: Jun, hush. They'll think you are in avarice.

Not too much later, the girl in flamingo pink comes into the house with Sora tailing her. The skirt to Sora's dress is a little bit on the dirty side now, however.

Haruhiko Takenouchi: Sora, please, make yourself look more presentable to your stepmother. Did you get beat by Tai, this time?

Sora Takenouchi: No way, dad. I slaughtered him even in soccer.

Tai goes back home, dripping in mud after losing to a girl, much to his male pride.
