A few servants, Lawrence, his wife, Gwendolyn, and their mutual friend, Clarice, also happen to hear every last one of Sakura and Jun's plans for Sora once she would no longer live in the chateau as a resident.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Once her stepfamily's true nature and intentions for Sora were finally brought into light, Sakura and Jun had finally gone through with their joint plan to abuse Sora, humiliate her every day of her life, and finally force poor Sora to become a servant in her own house.

Sakura Motomiya: I have a surprise for you in my bedroom, Sora. Then, you'll have another surprise in my daughters' bedroom as well.

Sora happily rushes into her stepmother's bedroom, only to find her so-called 'surprise' to be…

Sakura Motomiya: Congratulations, Sora Takenouchi. You have the surprise of your first ever chore as a servant being to make my bed and clean my room. Then when you're done here, you'll be moving onto my daughters' room to do the same there.

Sora Takenouchi: You mean to tell that your surprise for me is that I'm a servant, now?

Jun Motomiya: What did you think the surprise was gonna be, Sora Takenouchi? A pet birdy? Don't make me laugh.

Jun begins to laugh at the notion anyway, while Sora's eyes start to tear up.

Sakura Motomiya: You can thank Leilani for your current situation of being transformed from a resident to a servant, since she was the one gave the idea to me and her sister, Jun.

Sora is openly shocked by this and refuses to believe what her stepmother says about her stepsister, Leilani.

Sora Takenouchi: Leilani gave you the idea? NO! It's not possible. Leilani would never do such a thing. I don't believe a word of it.

Jun Motomiya: Believe what you want to, Sora Takenouchi. Leilani gave our mother the idea just by mentioning your name.

It is then that Leilani finally shows her face from behind a support beam in the hallway. She looks quite downcast at what her mother and sister have just told Sora about her giving them the idea to turn her stepsister into a servant in the first place.

Sora Takenouchi: You did give them the idea, then. How could you, Leilani? I trusted you with every secret in my life.

Leilani Motomiya: I promise you, Sora. It was just an accident. All I did was say that at least we still have you in our lives. I didn't know that my mother and my sister would take it as an idea to force you to become a servant in your own home. I never wanted any part of taking your family's home from you.

Sora, however, is far too disappointed in Leilani to even want to listen to what she has to say.

Sora Takenouchi: Don't! Just don't. I don't wanna hear any of it.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: Her stepmother, Sakura, and her stepsister, Jun, were incredibly cruel and abusive towards Sora, but at least Lawrence, Gwendolyn, and Clarice had stayed in the household while the rest of the servants accepted Sakura's dismissal. And as the next twelve years went by, even Leilani slowly, yet surely, earned back Sora's trust after much attention to her stepsister's ailments whenever they had happened. There were times in her life, however, when the drafty attic was far too cold to spend the night in. Those nights, Sora simply slept next to the dying embers of hearth.

The scene then cuts to the next morning, when Sora practically covered in ashes from sleeping anywhere near the fireplace hearth. That is when Sakura's room's bell rings and Sora is awoken by it. It is then that Sakura comes down to eat breakfast and finds Sora covered from head to toe in ashes from the fireplace hearth.

Sakura Motomiya: I thought breakfast was ready.

Sora Takenouchi: Oh, it is, madam. I'm just tending to the fire.

Sakura Motomiya: In the future, would it be too much to ask that we not be called upon until the work is done?

Sora Takenouchi: As you wish, madam.

Lawrence, Gwendolyn, Clarice, and her stepfamily suddenly notice that Sora is now covered in cinders and ashes from the fireplace hearth. Unfortunately for Sora, Sakura and Jun are the only ones to speak up to her about the conditions of her clothes.

Jun Motomiya: Good Lord, Sora. You're covered from your head down to your feet in ash.

Sakura Motomiya: I agree completely, Jun. You on the other hand, Sora, is it too much to ask that even your clothes look a little bit more… presentable?

Jun Motomiya: I've got the perfect new name for her.

Sakura Motomiya: Oh, do let us know what it is, Jun.

Jun Motomiya: It's 'CinderWench'.

Sakura Motomiya: Oh, it should be something that includes her name but still dirty, just like 'DirtySora'.

Jun Motomiya: 'CinderSora'! That's what we'll call you.

Sakura Motomiya: Oh, Jun, you're too clever. Isn't she, Leilani? Isn't your sister just too clever.

Leilani Motomiya: Oh, Jun's as clever as a whip, alright.

Leilani Motomiya's thoughts: Now, if only the both of you had it in yourselves to grow consciences in addition to it.

Then, Sakura and Jun both begin to giggle up a storm at their renaming of Sora. Leilani, however, only lets out a rather forced chuckle. But Sakura and Jun are far too busy laughing up a storm at their new name for Sora to notice as Leilani simply rolls her eyes at their cruel nickname for the poor girl. Sora, however, tries her hardest to ignore and tolerate Sakura and Jun's mean new nickname for her and sets down a fourth-place setting. Sakura notices her stepdaughter's actions.

Sakura Motomiya: Who's this for? Is there someone we've forgotten?

Sora Takenouchi: Oh, it's my place setting.

Leilani Motomiya: So, it would seem. You can join us for breakfast then, Sora. Let Lawrence, Gwendolyn and Clarice take care of everything for a bit and feel free to join us.

Sora Takenouchi: Thank you very much for the invitation, Leilani.

Leilani might be willing to let Sora eat with the rest of them, but Sakura and Jun want 'CinderSora', a girl they considered as a servant even in the beginning, to take no part in joining them and Leilani for breakfast.

Sakura Motomiya: Oh dear, no. It seems to be too much to expect you to help the remaining servants prepare breakfast, serve it and still with us for it. Wouldn't you prefer to eat when all of the work is done, Sora, or I say, 'CinderSora'? Hmm?

'CinderSora' just removes her plate from the table without even making a fuss over Leilani's invitation to join them once again being rescinded from Sora by her stepsister's own family. Leilani stands up to try to talk to Sora about it, but it is too late. 'CinderSora' has already left for the kitchen on the verge of tears. She continues to walk towards the table inside the kitchen until her eyes turn so watery from tears that she drops her plate onto the floor.

Miyako 'Yolei' Inoue: 'CinderSora'… Names are powerful, just like magic spells. And with this new name assigned to her, it seemed to Sora that her stepmother and Jun had, indeed, transformed her into nothing more than a creature of ash and toil.

Although she had promised her mother, Toshiko, that she would obey her dying words, Sora has suddenly been rendered unable to follow through on her promise to her mother.
