disclamation: I do not own the 'Digimon' anime at all... nor do I own the story of 'Cinderella'. I only own this fanfiction.

The rest of the palace staff include Grand Duke Myotismon. There is also Wisemon, captain of the king's royal guard, who is revealed to be the mysterious man in the forest with the prince when he met Sora.

In addition to the captain, himself, there is also Wisemon's favorite lieutenant, Shu 'Jim' Kido, and his younger brother, Jyou 'Joe' Kido, who has been recently enrolled into Wisemon's guardsman academy as his favorite private and the one of the prince's closest and only true friends in the palace.

There are also two of the younger servants in the palace who the prince had also made friends out of. Their names are Koushiro Izumi, who's friends call him 'Izzy', and a newer servant who had moved to the palace in the past from his home just before one would reach the forest. He was called Taichi Yagami, but his friends knew him by the name of 'Tai Kamiya'. Tai was the prince's best friend and favorite combat partner, while Izzy served the prince as his tutor for studying and passing his palace lessons.

Grand Duke Myotismon: I'm certain that your father spoke to you about your behavior in the forest.

Prince Yamato 'Matt' Ishida: Is it really any of your business, Grand Duke?

Grand Duke Myotismon: Your business is my business, your majesty. In fact, your business is all of our businesses. It simply won't do to let a stag go free.

Prince Yamato 'Matt' Ishida: Just because it's what's done, doesn't mean it's what should be done, or something like that.

Then, they all approach the royal artist.

Royal Artist: Master Takashi, master of the paintbrush, patiently waits.

King Hiroaki Ishida: Make him look marriageable to Princess Tara, Master Takashi. He is to marry her in two months' time, even if he won't agree to it willingly.

Master Takashi: I shall endeavor to please, majesty, but I can't work miracles.

Suddenly, Wisemon, the captain of the royal guard is struck with a brilliant idea.

Captain Wisemon: Perhaps instead of thrusting a marriage to Princess Tara upon my prince, my king would care enough for my prince to simply host a ball and invite everyone in the kingdom… if only to get my prince to finally listen to his advice.

Prince Yamato 'Matt' Ishida: It's not like it'll do any good for you to host a ball for that sake, but if it'll get you to finally stop pestering me about marrying royalty, I'll agree to it. If, and only if, the invitations are sent to every home in the kingdom, and I do mean every home.

Captain Wisemon: Then, it is a deal. A ball for the people, and a bride of his choice for the prince.

Master Takashi: Well, that's a step in the right direction, if ask me.

King Hiroaki Ishida: We didn't ask you, Master Takashi.

Master Takashi: I'm so sorry, naughty paint and naughty brush. Down please, Kosuke. I've got a cushion. Down, down, not that_

But before Master Takashi can finish his instructions to his assistant, however, Kosuke clumsily goes too far in descending Master Takashi's chair and drops the painter onto the floor.

Master Takashi: OY! I'm on the ground. I am literally on the ground. I'm very sorry. Actually, this is a rather good angle for you, your royal highness. Great nostrils, my prince. Could I have a longer brush?

Private Joe Kido, having had enough of this nonsense, goes over to Master Takashi.

Private Jyou 'Joe' Kido: Here, I can help you up.

Master Takashi: Why thank you, Private Kido. Say why are you even a private in the military academy if you're not even all that intimidating?

Lieutenant Shu 'Jim' Kido: It's only because he is my brother. While I wanted to join the royal guard, Joe actually wanted to follow our dad's orders and study to be a doctor. Poor dad, he never even knew.

Private Jyou 'Joe' Kido: No, it's alright. I'm used to having the expectations of others thrust on me.

Wisemon then goes over to his favorite private to speak with him.

Captain Wisemon: Joe, I'm very sorry. Still, though, you should live your life your way, not the way someone else wants you to live.

Private Jyou 'Joe' Kido: Yeah, you're probably right, captain, which is why I must drop out military academy and ask for the palace physician to take me on as his apprentice.

Prince Yamato 'Matt' Ishida's thoughts: Like what the girl I met in the woods assumed I was.

Captain Wisemon: I humbly accept your resignation and know one thing before you drop out of the military academy; I know that the training was grueling, but I had never had a private work so hard to make it. You're going to make an excellent royal physician's apprentice.

Jyou 'Joe' Kido: Thank you so much, Wisemon. Even though you enrolled me in a school I didn't want to go to because of your working relationship with my own brother, you've still been an incredibly great friend, my captain.

It is then that Private Joe Kido leaves the room to pack his things and most likely move them from the guard barracks to the hospital ward.
