Hey all! Just a quick thing before this chapter. I'm making Billy a bit younger in this story. In JP3 he was 25, so that would make him 42 in this story. For the sake of a future relationship with Beth, I'm lowering his age by about 6 years, and making Beth 6 years older as well. I know I said I wouldn't change ages, but this will be the only one I do, for the sake of the story. That would make Billy 36 in season 2 of this story, and Beth 22, which, is MUCH better than I had in the original story. To also keep Maggie as the older sister, I'll be making her 25 years old. Sorry if this is disappointing to some! On the other hand, if anyone has any ideas for similar relationships, let me know! Enjoy!

Flashback to the day of the outbreak. Alan Grant, Billy Brennan, Gerry Harding and Nima Cruz are all on the same flight to DC to witness the Masrani Global testimonies.

Alan and Billy boarded their 10 AM flight to DC at the Atlanta airport. In his mind, Dr. Grant was concerned with the possibility of encountering flying reptiles on this flight. He had heard that a few weeks ago that a private jet was taken out of the sky by a massive flying reptile in European airspace. He wasn't sure if it came from Isla Nublar, or some form of underground dinosaur breeding and trading. A few sightings of flying reptiles had been reported here and there, though nothing too serious, but the thought still lingered. Billy Brennan, now a full fledged paleontologist, noticed Dr. Grant's apprehension as they sat down.

"Everything alright, Alan?" He asked. Dr. Grant gave him a smile and took off his iconic hat to scratch his head.

"Ah, it's nothing Billy. Just, nervous for the flight is all. I don't quite fly as well as I used to," he said, looking around the plane.

"I know what you mean. The last time we were in a plane together things didn't go so well," Billy said. The two of them laughed.

"Well," Grant started. "At least this time there's no Spinosaurus on the runway," Billy chuckled at this.

"Yeah, well, you never know. After Lockwood Manor," he said, tapping Grant on the Arm. Grant sighed and shook his head.

"Ah, Lockwood Manor. What a mess," he said.

"That's putting it mildly," came a voice in the row across from them. Grant and Billy looked to their left and saw a familiar figure with a woman wearing a bandana sitting next to him.

"Dr. Harding! Had a feeling we might see you here. Good to see you again. Notice you got rid of the mustache," Grant said. Harding laughed.

"And I see you grew a beard," Gerry said. Grant looked over to Billy and introduced them.

"Gerry Harding, Billy Brennan. Paleontologist, and former student of mine," Billy awkwardly reached over Grant and shook Gerry's hand.

"Good to meet you Billy," Gerry gestured to the woman sitting beside him. "Nima Cruz. A good friend of mine. She helped me and Jess get off the island, oh 22 years ago?" Gerry said, looking at Nima. Billy and Nima exchanged an awkward handshake across the aisle.

"Almost 23 now, I think," Nima said, sitting back in her seat. Grant had a confused look on his face.

"The island? You mean Jurassic Park? I thought you got on the boat when the evacuation order came?" Grant asked. Gerry shrugged and shook his head.

"Jess and I were on our way there when we ran into Nima. She uh, got bit by a troodon and things weren't looking good for a while. We barely managed to get off the island alive," He said.

"If it weren't for you and Jess, I wouldn't be here now. Those bastardos nearly killed me," Nima said.

"Troodon? I don't remember that on the tour," Grant said.

"They weren't. They were secretly bred, and it caused a lot of problems for us before we finally escaped," Gerry said. Granted gave a loud sigh.

"I'm surprised any of us got out of there alive. I guess we have that in common," Grant said.

"What do you think we're going to this trial for?" Billy chuckled. Everyone laughed.

"Speaking of Jess, where is she?" Grant asked.

"Finishing up her Doctoral Thesis at Virginia Tech. She's hoping to meet us in DC once she's done," Gerry said, with a look of pride on his face. Grant smiled.

"Well, I hope I get to meet her someday. If she's anything like her sister I'm sure she'll excel at whatever she decides to do," he said. Gerry and Nima smiled as the pilot's voice came over the plane's intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we're hearing reports of a disturbance from inside the airport causing a minor delay. Hope to be in the air soon, but just sit tight and we'll hopefully be departing shortly," the intercom clicked off. There was a series of groans and frustration throughout the plane.

"What do you think they meant by disturbance?" Billy asked.

"Some drunken fools probably. I wouldn't worry too much," Grant said. A few moments later, the plane left the gate and began taxiing down the run way. Billy looked outside the plane from his window seat and something caught his eye. He watched as an airline employee tackled another employee, attempting to bite his neck.

"Woah, woah. What the hell?" Everyone looked over to see what he was referring to.

"Huh. A fight maybe?" Grant said.

"Maybe that's the disturbance? Strange," Nima said. Everyone shrugged as the plane drove by the apparent fight and began its ascent. Everything was going smoothly in the initial take off until the plane shook violently. Grant and Billy looked at each other and then to Nima and Gerry.

"What the hell was that? That didn't feel like turbulence," Billy said, looking out his window. The pilot's voice came over the intercom again.

"Ladies and gentlemen we—wait. What the hell is—OH GOD! Remain seated! I repeat! Remain in your seats! There's some kind of flying—" The pilot's voice was cut off. Everyone on the plane began to look out their windows. Nima looked out hers and saw a massive winged shadow on the wing adjacent to her seat. She tapped Dr. Harding.

"Gerry? What the hell is that?" Gerry, Grant and Billy looked out of Nima's window and saw a massive, feathered pterosaur flying above them, and several smaller pteranodons beginning to circle the plane.

"Alan. Look," Billy pointed to several pteranodons dive bombing the engine of the plane. The fuselage shook as more and more pteranodons attacked the plane. There was screaming and crying heard all throughout the cabin.

"What do we—" Before Gerry could finish his sentence, the massive pterosaur grasped onto the wings of the plane, and ripped them clean off. The pilot's garbled voice came over the intercom one last time.

"Mayday! Mayday! We are going down! Some kind of flying creature has severely crippled our aircraft! All passengers and flight attendants brace for impact! I repeat! Brace for impact!" The plane was going down. Everyone looked at each other, making sure they were buckled in. Billy looked over at Grant who had a terrified look on his face.

"For the record, if we survive this, I'm never getting on a plane with you again!" Grant just looked forward and held on to his seat. Nima looked quickly out the window. The Pterosaurs were gone, but the plane was fast approaching the ground.

"Here it comes!" Nima and Gerry held each other's hands and looked at each other. A few seconds later people screamed and cried out, as the plane tumbled and broke apart crashing into the Georgia forest…

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed the prologue to Dr. Grant's Story! I wanted this plane crash to mirror how the plane in JW Dominion crashed, being taken down by the Quetzalcoatlus. This particular group of JP characters will meet up with Rick's group, likely between season 2 and 3. Please let me know what you think! Thanks for reading everyone!
