Summary: Inspired by Fruit Baskets. Natsu quickly learns why you shouldn't slam the door in Erza's face.

Pairings: General family and friendship feels.

YouTube Prompt: Loke tribute to the song 'You're So Vain' preferably the John Barrowman cover but any other would be fine too.

When Natsu opened his front door he had not expected Erza to be standing on the other side waiting to be let in, so he reacted instinctively to the horrifying sight….

…and immediately slammed the front door in her face.

He regretted it instantly as Erza began to push the door open. "Natsu!" she growled furiously as the door got wider and wider. "Did you slam the door on me?!"

"No!" Natsu squeaked as he shoved all of his body weight against the wooden door. He succeeded in pushing it back into Erza's face and keeping her and her murderous rage out of his hut. "It's broken!" he lied hastily.

"Natsu!" Erza said warningly as she pushed back. "Open the door!"

"I can't!" Natsu yelled back as he began to pour all of his strength in keeping the door shut. "It's broken!"

CRACK!

Natsu screamed as Erza's fist punched itself into his door and suddenly grabbed hold off his scarf. He was then yanked against the jagged hole in his door as Erza's face appeared right by his. Her eyes had an evil, demonic, gold gleam to them as she snarled silently. "Open the door!" she screeched in an inhuman voice.

"….and that's why I need this job to pay for a new door," Natsu finished explaining his problem to Master. He tried to take a more risky job that was reserved for adults only (it's so unfair, adults get all the fun) and Master had been refusing him up till now. "Jeeze!" he whined. "It's so unfair that she damaged my door. Do you know how much it costs to mend a door? And I mean to get the hole patched up and the hinges replaces and put all back in. its costs a fortune. It was really, really, inconsiderate of Erza to just go and smash my door like that!"

"It is indeed," Master agreed sagely, "and what lesson have you learned from all of this?"

Natsu sat there in silence as he pondered over that question. After all….was there a lesson to learn from this? And then he lit up with realisation and grinned. "I know!" he cried out cheerfully.

Master perked up and looked hopeful. "You do?!" he asked eagerly. "Really? Because you'll be the first one to learn that property damage is-"

"I learnt," Natsu interrupted brightly, "to never slam the door in Erza's face ever again."

Master instantly collapsed against the bar at that.

"I SWEAR YOU ARE DELIBERATELY LEARNING THE WRONG LESSON TO MAKE MY LIFE A MISERY," he bellowed as he shot back up with a furious look on his face, "YOU SHITTY BRAT!"

"Jeeze," Natsu mumbled to Gray who happened to be nearby, "what crawled up his arse and died?"

"….You're an idiot."

And that was when the seventy-eighth brawl that week started and a lot of very expensive property damage was caused much to Maser's never-ending despair.
