I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story picks up where the last chapter left, as the Meta Liberation Front members are now setting their plans in motion as their SECRET PROJECT is coming at full swing.

Ch. 3: Guranpuri no keisei

Deika City.

The scene shifts at a corporate building where Rikiya Yotsubashi, aka Re-Destro, is overseeing the operations as the plans to create a UTOPIA is underway, and there one of the scientists approached him and said that the first phase is almost completed, saying that production is doing well and the mass-producing of the ITEMS are nearing completion, stating that within under an hour the mass-production would be completed.

Yotsubashi smiled as he is pleased with the progress of the upcoming program, and there he told the staff to keep up the good work, and said that he is expecting the ITEMS to be ready as he is anticipating that the APPLICANTS are due to arrive soon, which the scientists nodded in acknowledgement, as they are working double time to complete the supply of the unspecified items.

"Yes, sir."

After that, Yotsubashi went to the controller room where Tomoyasu Chikazoku, aka Skeptic, is making the final adjustments on the program, and Yotsubashi asked him how are things going, which Chikazoku said that he is finalizing the finishing touches and the plans will soon bear fruit, assuring that things will go accordingly and it would enticed the applicants to GET INTO THE GROOVE.

"Really, Chikazoku?"

"Yeah. It'll be ready soon."

"Ah, that's good to hear…"

"Just give me a little more time…"

"Yes, of course…"

"This baby is near completion, so…"

"Do what you can, my friend…"

"You got it, Re-Destro."

Moments later, Koku Hanabata, aka Curious, entered the fray, informing Yotsubashi that she has approached a lot of people, saying that she managed to entice quite a lot, and that they are interested in participating in this upcoming project, and Yotsubashi thanked her for the hard work she made, saying that her efforts will be rewarded and bear fruit.

"Really, Hanabata?"

"Yes, dear Re-Destro. Most of the participants are easy to coax, because majority of them are the homeless."

"Ah, that's good to hear…"

"Perhaps once the DAY comes, we should give them something to entice them more so they wouldn't resist the temptation…"

"Yes, of course…"

"This project of yours is quite an ambitious masterpiece, Re-Destro…"

"Of course, my and for now, try to recruit more guinea pigs, would you…?"

"You got it, Re-Destro."

Chikazoku then reminded Yotsubashi that the program would have to originate here as Deika City is a SAFE HAVEN, and if they commence the program at the main capital it might attract the attention of authorities and even the Hero Public Safety Commission, which Yotsubashi assured to Chikazoku that everything will be okay and that there is nothing to worry about.

Moreover, he also said that the financial backers of this project gave their absolute assurance that this project would remain a top secret, hence no one from the authorities and even from the Hero Public Safety Commission would find out about this, as he made sure that this project won't be made public in order to maintain its secrecy.

"…and that's how this would go, Re-Destro."

"Yes, it'll be a perfect cover-up…"

"True. That way no one would give us problem…"

"Correct, Chikazoku. The pro heroes must not know, or else our plans would be jeopardized…"

"Yeah. Wouldn't want Endeavor to barge in…"

"Indeed…"

"Well…time to resume work…"

"Please do."

Nearly a month later, the scene shifts outside the corporate building within Deika City, where many people are lining up, which turn out to be the ones that Hanabata approached and enticed them to try participating in this secret project, where they were assured of gaining monetary rewards and other things that were promised.

Amongst the people lining up at the parking area is Naruto Uzumaki, who is currently 15 years old, and he is here to try his luck after the promise that Hanabata said to him if he participate in this project, and he noticed that a lot of people are also here, and wondered if they are here because of the same reason as his, which made him ponder if they too were approached by Hanabata recently.

Then Sasuke Uchiha came, and he is quite displeased with seeing a lot of people as he is expecting that he alone would try out this secret project that was told to him by Hanabata, and there he became quite annoyed as Naruto innocently stared at him, prompting Sasuke to arrogantly tell Naruto to stop pestering him, saying that he is not in the mood to entertain strangers.

"Hey. You got a problem?"

"Me?"

"Who else?"

"I wasn't…"

"I don't like people being stared…"

"But I wasn't…"

"To me you are."

"Hey…I said I wasn't…"

Though Naruto politely assured that he meant no harm, Sasuke is still annoyed and is poised to confront him head-on, but someone stepped in between them and urged the two to calm down as their actions might trigger a stampede, and this might cause them and everyone else to give this company a reason to cancel the summons, which Sasuke reluctantly heeded.

Naruto glanced at the person who pacified Sasuke, and noted that this person appeared to be in his late teens, where he is described as a teenager of average height, with a slim muscular build with short and spiky black hair, crimson eyes, and especially sharp teeth. His eyes are also noteworthy as his pupils are white instead of black.

Naruto politely greeted this person and asked if he is here to apply, which the other teen nodded, saying that he is here to try his luck after being laid off several months ago, revealing that he used to be a FIREFIGHTER but was laid off as the company he used to work at are now accommodating firefighters who have Quirks, and those who are Quirkless are laid off, and since then he tried to find other jobs within the firefighting industry but they appeared to hire only those with specific Quirks.

"Huh? For real?"

"Yeah."

"Seriously?"

"True. The firefighting industry now only accept those with Quirks that appeared to be water-based…"

"That's unfair…!"

"Learned it the hard way…so now I'm going to try my luck here…"

"Really?"

"Yeah."

The teen, who told Naruto that he is 19 years old, introduced himself as Shinra Kusakabe, and he somewhat gained Naruto's acquaintance as both boys are friendly in nature, where they shook hands and wished each other luck once they are inside the corporate building, which Sasuke mentally sighed in annoyance as he had to put up with what he deemed as an unsightly scene.

By then the corporate secretary came out and thanked the people who came all the way and said that they can come inside and follow her as she will lead them to the meeting room where they are going to be debriefed on what to expect and what the terms are so as to give them an idea, and the applicants went inside which Sasuke, Naruto and Shinra also went along.

Due to an unspecified number of applicants, they took the escalator instead of the elevator, and proceeded to the 35th floor (of the 50 floors) of the corporate building, in which the applicants entered the room, where Yotsubashi is standing at the balcony and welcomed them as well as thanking them, for accepting the invitation, welcoming them and said that they are going to participate in a program which he assured that it won't be hard and that this would be an easy task.

As the participants wondered what Yotsubashi meant, Yotsubashi said that the applicants are going to participate in a LITTLE EXPERIMENT, in which they are going to become PARTICIPANTS IN A LIFE-LIKE GAME that is akin to online games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, and there they are tasked to compete and complete certain tasks which the ones who make it to the FINAL ROUND will be given rewards, ranging from monetary to public status.

As a gesture of good will, the participants present were given ATM cards, where the amount placed has 100,000 Yen, and said that points accumulated during the specific tasks would be converted to monetary rewards, which enticed the applicants, seeing that this would be easy in earning money, and most of the applicants present, most of them are homeless, unquestionably accepted.

"I'm in!"

Sasuke sighed in annoyance seeing that the applicants are easily swayed by money, while Naruto seemed to understand that some of the applicants appeared to be desperate for money, though Shinra was quite disturbed by what he is seeing, wondering if the applicants enticed due to personal need or out of greed, and glanced at Naruto and Sasuke, seeing that they are not swayed, which made him mentally relieved.

Not far, Chikazoku and Hanabata saw the reaction of the applicants and are pleased with the turn of events, as they anticipated this and now they can get the program started and see how things would go and what the results would be like, saying that this would surely help in their plans to overtake the Hero society by shifting public opinion in Re-Destro's favor.

"A good way to start the day…isn't it, Hanabata?"

"Yes, dear Re-Destro. It's because of the participants are easy to coax, since majority of them are the homeless and are looking for easy ways to earn quick cash."

"Ah, that's good to hear…and I feel that things are shaping up well…"

"Perhaps this is the DAY where our plans are bearing fruit, so we should give them something to entice them more so they wouldn't resist the temptation…they are quite the type who are willing to do the work for us…"

"Yes, of course…"

"I got to admit…this project of yours is quite an ambitious masterpiece, Re-Destro…"

"Of course, my dear, and now, try it's time to see our project come to full circle…"

"You got it, Re-Destro."

Back at the ballroom area of the room, Yotsubashi had one of the his staff do the honors in explaining the rules of the program and what are the requirements in order to succeed, as well as the risks involved, the staff member, a woman identified as Tsumuri, stepped in and explain what is needed, as well as showing the applicants the items they are about to receive as they are going to use it once the program commences, and asked the participants if they are willing to go forward, which they almost all of them accepted without questioning.

"I'm in!"

Then Tsumuri led the applicants to another room, where she had them lined up and there a couple of ushers are standing in front of a wide table, and one by one the ushers gave the applicants a pair of items which they were instructed on how to use them, and most of the applicants seemed to get the hang of it, and once they received the items, which are revealed as:

- ID CORE

- DESIRE DRIVER

After receiving the said items Tsumuri told them to head back to the ballroom to receive additional instructions, which the applicants did as told as they went back to the ballroom where Yotsubashi had a huge monitor revealed and a footage is shown.

There Yotsubashi told the applicants that this is where the JOB INTERVIEW commences, as he said that this is where they are going and what their task would be, as well as telling them what the following requirements would be in order to pass this first step before advancing to the next phase, which majority of the applicants feel that this first task would be easy.

"Whoa…"

"This looks easy…"

"Better than applying as a call center agent…"

"I can get rich easier…"

"Got to win…"

"Want to buy a house…"

"Money…more money…"

"Me too…"

Naruto, Sasuke and Shinra glanced at the items they received, and wondered if this would be worth it, though Sasuke doesn't care as long as he would be the one who wins and told Naruto and Shinra to quit as there is no point trying, though Shinra said that he came all the way here and reminded Sasuke what Tsumuri and Yotsubashi said about the requirements needed to pass the first task.

Naruto then tried to calm the two as he felt that what Yotsubashi said might have merit, though Sasuke told him to shut it which didn't seem to sit well with Shinra, who seemed to get turned off by Sasuke's arrogance and selfishness.

"Hey…you're way off the line here…"

"You got a problem?"

"Look, I was…"

"Then shut your mouth."

"…"

"I'm not here to make friends…I'm here to win…and you lot are eyesore…"

"You…"

"Leave…or else I will make you…"

Tsumuri stepped in and tells Sasuke that following the requirements for the first task is needed in order to advance the next phase and assured to him that in the next stages he will get to shine on his own, and in the end Sasuke reluctantly obliges as he leaves the ballroom with Naruto and Shinra following, and soon the applicants left the corporate building, where they are now heading to a specific location where the first task is located.

Hope you liked this chapter, though there is not much action here since majority of this opening plot focuses on the Meta Liberation Army setting up the secret project, which is now about to go into full swing, where an unspecified number of people appeared, including Naruto and Sasuke, as they are briefed in on what to do and how to accomplish something.

And while this is a Naruto fanfic, a surprise came as the main character of another manga-turned-anime, Fire Force, appeared, where he is among those who are going to participate in this secret project.

Shinra Kusakabe appeared to be in good terms with Naruto as he tries to ward off Sasuke's arrogance which could have threatened the peace and order situation.
