It was a lazy evening in the guild and the boys were left to their own devices as the girls ran off to have a girl's night in. So that meant apart from the odd brawl that broke out (usually between Natsu and Gray) it was unusually quiet and boring within the guild.
BANG!
Until Loke slammed the door open. He leaned against the wooden doorframe, dishevelled and completely out of breath, with his glasses falling off his face, his suit rumpled and tie pulled loose, and sweat was dripping from his forehead.
"Guys…" he panted. "Come quick….Fairy Hills…."
"What is it?!" Natsu demanded immediately. "Is Lucy in danger? Did someone attack the girls?"
"Was it Zeref and his demons?" Gray leaped in before Loke opened his mouth. "Or just the Vulcans thinking they're being clever?"
"Is my wife all right?!" Alzack snapped.
"Who in the right mind would attack the girls?!" Bickslow exclaimed. "Was it some sort of creature or a guild?!"
"Whoever it is," Natsu pounded his fists together and set them alight, "I will make them wish that they never heard the name of Fairy Tail let alone think of attacking our family."
"No, not an attack," Loke wheezed, "a pillow fight!"
"…."
"…."
"…"
"…"
"….what?" Gajeel finally voiced. "You got us all worked over a stupid-"
"PILLOW FIGHT?!" Macao and Wakaba bellowed delightedly. "While they're all in their skimpy pyjamas?!" Macao added with a creepy gleefulness.
"Yes," Loke said, "Lucy is wearing the littlest shorts you can imagine and no bra whatsoever! It's a sight to be-oomph!"
Loke doubled over as Natsu firmly punched him in the stomach before he marched out of the guild. No one bothered telling him off as they all immediately began to stampede after Natsu and into the direction of Fairy Hills.
All but two as Freed carried on reading and Lily took a sip of his drink without even acknowledging the stampede with a blink.
"Oh and I suppose you two," Loke sneered huffily as he pushed his glasses up his nose and straightened his suit up, "are too cool for pillow fights."
"No," Lily said calmly, "we just have our dignity."
"And our maturity and our decency," Freed added pleasantly enough, "but if you want to be arrested for perving on girls, you carry on. We won't stop you."
"Whatever," Loke shrugged, "you stay in and be the boring old farts while the rest of us have a good time."
Freed and Lily didn't even bother responding that as they revelled what was a true and incredibly rare silence in the guild.
(It got boring within five minutes but don't you dare tell the others that.)

When Loke said there was a pillow fight going on majority of men at Fairy Tail imagined the girls in giggly states while wearing the skimpiest items of clothing possible and jumping up and down on beds as they whacked each other lightly with the pillows.
They did not expect reality they got but then when they thought about it they really should have because it was Fairy Tail.
Erza's bedroom was turned into a warzone with the bed and desk and chairs moved onto their sides like barricades. The girls were divided into two obvious teams, one led by Erza, and the other led by Mira, and the whole lot of them had deadly, serous, expressions on their faces under the war paint they painted on their cheeks with green and black eyeshadow.
"Mirajane!" Erza barked, as she put a foot on the table and looked as if she was about to give a heroic motivating speech the troops, she pointed a finger at an unimpressed Mira and shot her a determined, challenging, glare. The boys (who were all watching from a convent tree that stood outside the bedroom) all flinched at that. "Your chilly reign has come to an end!"
"Tee-hee!" Mira giggled evilly. Shivers ran down everyone's spine at that and Elfman let out a pathetic, terrified, whimper. "Don't make me laugh," Mira said confidently, "as you just did now."
"ARGH!" Erza screamed furiously. "MEN!" she bellowed. "ATTACK!"
The boys watched gobsmacked as Bisca used one of her cannon guns to send pillows flying straight at Mira (who dodged them all with ease as she did a series of ridiculous acrobatic tricks), Lucy fending off pillows with her whip, Wendy using her wind magic to throw pillows at a fast and dangerous speed, Levy summoning giant pillows with her pen, and Cana used her cards to make her own to add to the ammunition. The others girls fought without the use of their magic but were just as ferocious and fierce as the others.
It was not a pillow fight…it was war.
The boys could feel their souls leaving their bodies at the disappointment and terror of what they were witnessing.
One pillow whipped round the room under Wendy's spell and managed to knock Levy out. The small, skinny, blue-haired mage went sprawling on the floor as she bashed her head against the wall.
"Urgh!" Levy groaned dramatically. "Lu-Chan!" she cried out as she struggled to get up. "This is the end for me!"
Lucy immediately went to her knees and cradled Levy in her lap. "Don't give up!" she begged Levy. "You have so much to live for! So many books to read!"
"Sounds nice…" Levy wheezed. "But's already too late."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Lucy screamed melodramatically as she held Levy close to her chest. "She was so young!"
"Lu-Chan!" Levy croaked. "Avenge…. me!" and with another wheezy, fake, cough Levy pulled a series of silly faces and then promptly 'died'.
Lucy let out a furious scream before she kissed Levy's forehead and picked up a pillow. With the help of Virgo and Aries ("Hey!" Cana protested as Aries knocked her out of the game with a wool bomb. "That's cheating!") Lucy helped Erza win the game.
The girls all laid there on the floor covered in feathers and bits of wool as they groaned in agony. The room was a complete wreck as nothing had remained untouched for their weapons and magic. The only thing that made it less of a battlefield was the lack of blood.
The boys all sat there with their jaws wide open.
"This…." Macao said blankly. "…Was not what I was expecting."
"They have brought dishonour," Master said gravely, "to the great name of pillow fights."
"It must be their upbringing," Wakaba said, "the poor things are clueless to how to have a real pillow fight without any mothers or older sisters showing them how to do it."
"….wait," Natsu blinked, "if that wasn't a pillow fight then what the hell were we just watching?!"
"I don't know," Gajeel grunted with a shrug, "training?"
"Oh for Christ sake, you idiots!" Gray snapped impatiently. "They were having a pillow fight they just weren't having a pillow fight properly."
"How do you have a pillow fight properly?"
"Don't worry," Macao said comfortingly as he patted Natsu's shoulder, "we'll teach the girls how to have a proper pillow fight so you would be able to perve on a real one the next time."

The girls all headed towards the guild in a great mood.
After their pillow fight they had more drinks and snacks as they gossiped, giggled, and did each other's hairs and nails. It had been a successful girl's night in and they were all refreshed and ready to deal with boys and everyday life again.
That was when they stumbled upon it.
Macao, Wakaba, and their guild master frolicking in a field with great, big, plush pillows as they light whacked one another with it.
"Ha-ha!" Macao laughed lightly as he smacked Wakaba in the face….barely. "This was a great idea!" he chirped as he dodged Master's attempt to hit him on the bottom with a pillow.
Wakaba bopped Master on the head gently with his pillow and jumped slightly in order to make his chest bounce (it failed because he had no chest to speak of). "Hee-hee!" Wakaba giggled in a high-pitched voice. "This is so much fun!"
"Oh look!" Master gasped in a girly voice. "All the feathers have come out of the pillows."
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…Jesus," Cana shuddered as the girls all suddenly hurried past the traumatising sight, "that's just fucking creepy."
"You're telling me!" Lisanna agreed as she rubbed her arms in a reassuring manner." I'm going to have nightmares for weeks about that."
"Amateurs," Erza muttered scornfully as she glared back at the older men, "this why pillow fights should be left to the girls."
