Summary: BecauseMagic + Dust = Magical Dust Bunnies and Gajeel wouldn't know what a duster is let alone actually dust his placeā¦.duh.
Pairings: Gajeel/Lily friendship and some implied Gajeel/Levy.
YouTube Prompt: Fairy Tail tribute to 'Time to Say Goodbye' by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams (i.e. RWBY Opening 2).
Lily had been relaxing on Gajeel's bed with a book on Earthland History that Levy had lent him, it had been a whole week since he moved universes and he had a lot to catch up on, that was when he heard it.
The rummaging noise.
He looked up and saw nothing but Gajeel's mess and probably some furniture hiding underneath said mess. He shrugged and went back to his book.
That was when the rummaging noise started up again.
Lily looked up again and saw nothing with another shrug he went back to his book.
Then the rummaging noise started up all over again.
This time Lily whipped round as quickly as he could and met the beady eye of a rabbit.
Not just any rabbit.
A gigantic rabbit of epic proportions.
A rabbit that was almost as big as he was when he was transformed.
And made entirely of dust.
Lily cursed.
The rabbit roared at him.
With a quick jump, Lily dodged to the side, picked up his sword, and transformed into his larger, more muscly, form. The rabbit lunged towards him and he slashed at it with his sword.
The rabbit immediately split into two as dust sprayed everywhere.
"You have got," he muttered to himself, "to be kidding me."
With ease and many years of expertise, Lily slashed one rabbit before he turned to the other and hacked it into two. The dust reformed and now there was four, much smaller, rabbits, and briefly Lily wondered if this was what they meant when they said breed like rabbits.
The rabbits lunged at him and he dodged and hacked and hacked again. Until finally he was surrounded by tiny, bitty, deceptively innocent rabbits, which he happily squashed with his the broadside of his sword.
This was, of course, when Gajeel decided to finally return home.
His eyes bugged out as he saw Lily stomp on a couple little dust bunnies and his jaw dropped open as he took in the sea of the dust that now covered his carpet. "Lily!" Gajeel gasped. "What the hell?!"
"Let this be a lesson to you," Lily said as he wiped the dust off of his sword, "learn to clean your bedroom."
A week later Levy brought them a duster and Lily made sure Gajeel used it.
