Keeping One's Word

It has been five days since Mary, and her loved ones had faced her step father. She has spent every night in the sick bay sleeping beside her love. Her two fathers had also slept in the sick bay with her. She had told them to go to the house and sleep there, but both had told her that they were staying there with her and Newkirk. Newkirk was healing very quickly to his and everyone's relief. Klink was very happy to know that his son was doing a lot better now. Two days ago Klink had told Mary that a truck with all the food that she would need to cook for those in need; would be there in a day or so. When he had told her this; she had jumped up and hugged him. General Burkhalter had went home after this; he had wanted to see this selfless girl's reaction to this wonderful news. Before he had left; he told Mary that he would come back in a few days to see her, and the new dresses that she had made herself. When he had told her this; Mary smiled at him. After he had left the camp; she now had no choice, but to make herself some new dresses and outfits. Mary made herself many dresses and outfits, but she had also made her loved ones new clothes as well. She had made each one of her brother's a new shirt. For her uncle Schultz and Grandfather; she made them both scarfs. She was still working on the gift's for her fathers as well as her loves gift.

It was now noon and Newkirk was very happy to know that he could now eat solid food. He was getting tired of broth; even if his love had made it for him. The first time he had ate the broth; Mary sat on his bedside, and spoon fed him. He had told her that he indeed felt like a baby now. She had laughed, and had moved the spoon around in front of him. He had to stop himself from laughing hard; when she had told him to open up for the plane. Newkirk was now sitting up in the small bed. His eyes watched his love walk in the room with his lunch in her hands. Mary walked over and sat down on his bed. He looked into the bowl to see what she had made him. His eyes spotted what looked like to be a type of soup. He watched her bring the spoon up to touch her lower lip; to see if the food was too hot. Newkirk smiled as she done this.

"You know that you don't have to do that." He told her. Mary smiled and told him.

"I don't want you to burn your mouth." Newkirk smiled at his love. She moved the spoon to his mouth and waited for him to open his mouth.

"You know, I think that I can feed myself now." He told her. Mary lowered the spoon, and smiled a smile that reminded him of her father.

"Oh really. And just how are you going to hold the bowl?" She asked him now looking at his arm in the sling. Newkirk looked down and pressed his lips together. Glancing back up at his love he replied.

"Okay you have a point." He said as he turned his head, and opened his mouth. Mary giggled at this, and lifted the spoon up to his mouth. Newkirk took a bite of the soup. His eyes widen at the taste of it. "What is this?" He asked with joy in his voice. "It tastes like Shepherd's Pie." He added. Mary smiled and told him.

"It actually is. It's a Shepherd's Pie Soup." She told him with a smile. "I wanted to make you something that you liked." She added with a loving smile. Newkirk smiled wide at this.

"Thank you diamond heart." He thanked her with a loving smile. After Newkirk had ate all of the soup; he laid back against the pillow's in his bed. Mary sat the bowl down at her feet. She looked over at her love who was smiling at her. Mary smiled wide as he reached over and took her hand into his.

"Peter what is it?" She asked him. Newkirk smiled and told her.

"Nothing. I just wanted to hold your hand." This made Mary smile even more.

"I can't wait for both of us to be in bed together. I miss holding you." She admitted to him. Newkirk smiled wider, and admitted also.

"I know. I miss you laying in my arms, and me holding you too. I say that hopefully soon I can go back to the house."

"That will depend on how your wounds look today." Mary looked up; as Newkirk glanced back. Kreizler walked up to the two in love. He smiled down at the two, and spoke again.

"Freundlicher Engel if you would be so kind to move; so I can look at his wounds?" Mary smiled at the nickname that the German doctor had gave her. Mary moved to let the doctor look at her loves wounds. As Kreizler sat down; Newkirk asked him.

"What did you call her?" Mary smiled and told her love.

"He called me Kind Angel." Her love smiled at this.

"Well you are a Kind Angel." He told her. Mary looked away, and down at the ground. She felt a blush come to her cheeks.

Kreizler helped the young Corporal take off the sling. He took off the bandages, and looked at the wounds. The gun shot wound to the arm was looking very good. It was healing up nicely. After he looked at the young man's arm; he then looked at the wound on his chest. He was looking hard to see if there was any signs of infection. Once he didn't see any sign of it; he smiled.

"Well your wounds look great. I have to admit that I have never seen someone heal as fast as you. But that doesn't mean that you can go on doing what you were doing. You will still have to wear the sling; at least for now. You will be able to get up and walk around, but don't over do it. If you need to rest; please do so. Wilhelm will give you something for the pain; if you need it. But other than that you can go back to the house, and sleep in your bed again." He told Newkirk the good news. Newkirk looked up at Mary who was smiling wide at this news.

"Really? That's wonderful!" She said happily. This made both men smile at her. Kreizler stood up and turned toward her.

"You should go and get the bedroom ready. And you might want to tell the balding Eagle and his Chickadee that your brave knight will be going to the house." When Kreizler said this Mary laughed lightly. Newkirk narrowed his brows together.

"Who?" He asked. Mary stopped laughing long enough to tell her love.

"He means Papa and Vater. Those are his nicknames for them." After she told him this; Newkirk smiled and tried to stop himself from laughing hard.

"Oh that's a good one." He told the German doctor.

"I don't think that they should know that I call them that." Kreizler told the young Corporal. Newkirk smiled and nodded his head.

"Alright." Newkirk said with a large grin. Kreizler looked over toward Mary when she spoke up.

"I will go and tell them, and get the bedroom ready." She said with a smile. Kreizler smiled when Mary leaned down and kissed her love on the lips. After that she turned and ran out of the room. Kreizler watched the door shut; then looked over toward the young man. Newkirk narrowed his brows together; when he saw the older man sit back down, but this time in a chair that was near his bed.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked him. Kreizler shook his head then spoke.

"No. I was wanting to talk to you about somethings that Wilhelm told me." This made Newkirk raise a brow.

"Like what?" He asked the doctor.

"Wilhelm wanted me to talk to you; about being with Mary later on down the road." Newkirk lowered his head some.

"Oh that. I used to think that Mary could do better than me, but now I know for a fact that she was brought into my life for a reason. When I died, and yes I told Mary some of this. But when I died I saw her holding me. I saw myself in her arms. I can still see the pain in her eyes, on her face, and mostly in her voice. I knelt down and tried to touch her face, but my hand went threw her. I looked over at Klink. The pain on his face and eyes… it hurt to see it. I looked at Colonel… at Robert, and saw the same. But it was Mary who was hurting more than anyone." Newkirk's brows narrowed when he told the next part. "I looked up and saw a man standing there looking at me."

"Did you know him?" Kreizler asked. Newkirk looked up and shook his head.

"No. I had never seen the man before in my life. I told Mary that the man showed me her life with me in it, and without. I saw her happy with me in her life. She could do what she wanted to, and be who she wanted to be. Her and I had children, and we were very happy. Robert was there and so was Wilhelm… my Vater. He was there with us, and he and Robert were so happy too. But when I saw what Mary's life would be without me. It scared me… She was married to a German Officer that was just like her step father. She was not allowed to see her father, or even say his name around this man. The man that she married told her that she had to marry him; if not then he would have killed Robert. So Mary married him to save Robert. She was so unhappy with this man. She couldn't follow her dreams, or have children; all because that bastard didn't want her to loose her figure. The last thing I saw was Mary… sitting on the bed with a knife in her hand. She was looking at a picture of me… she was crying and telling me that she would be with me again soon. I watched her cut her throat deep. I watched the life drain from her eyes. She was smiling when she died… I was crying and screaming for her not to do it, but she couldn't hear me… When the man asked me if I wanted to let her go; I yelled at him and told him no that she needed me. He told me that I could go back to her." Kreizler watched as Newkirk wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Do you feel like you are still not worthy enough to be with her?" He asked him. Newkirk looked up and shook his head.

"No. I know that I am. Mary will be happy with me, and I will always be happy with her. I will always love her no matter what happens, or comes our way. She will be my wife one day, and then after that; the mother of my children. I can't wait to be married to her. I want to ask her now, but I need a ring. But not just any ring; a ring that is just as amazing as she is. If I could I would make her one…"

"Why don't you? You made your bow and arrows. I'm sure that you could make a few rings. Make both of her rings; her engagement ring, and wedding band. I saw the bow that you made, and the arrows. If you can make that; then you can make a ring that is as amazing as she is… Hell why not make your wedding band as well." As the German doctor talked; Newkirk looked toward the wall. He had never thought of that. He was good at making bows and arrows; so he should be able to make his love the ring that was just like her. Then when Kreizler spoke about him not only making Mary's, but his ring as well; that gave Newkirk an idea. He looked over toward the older man and asked.

"Do you still have the bullet that you pulled out of my arm?" Kreizler narrowed one brow and raised the other.

"Yes… Why?" He asked him. The German man saw a large smile come to the younger man's lips.

"Because I will need it." He told him. This made Kreizler tilt his head to the side.

Mary ran up the stairs of the Kommandantur. She ran into her Vater's office. Hilda had lifted her head up to see the young woman run threw the room, and into her bosses office. She had gotten up quickly to see if there was something wrong. When Mary had ran into the office Klink looked up from his desk. He saw on his daughter's face that she had to tell him something. Klink got up fearing that something was wrong with his son. With large steps he walked over to her.

"Mary what is it?" He asked her in a worried voice. Mary smiled at him and told him.

"Peter can come back to the house!" She told him loudly. Once Klink heard this a large smile came to his lips.

"That's wunderbar." He told her. Mary looked around to see where her father was.

"Where's Papa? I want to tell him." She asked.

"Robert is down in the tunnels. He said that he was going to try to talk to General Butler." He told her. Mary nodded her head at this news.

"Well I can go to the house and go down into the tunnels and tell him. Then I can get the bedroom ready for Peter." She told him, and turned to run out of the office. Mary stopped dead in her tracks at Klink's words.

"No. You go and get everything ready, and I will go down into the tunnels and tell your father. " He told her. Mary smiled at her Vater's words.

They walked to the house together. Once inside Mary went into hers and her loves bedroom to get everything ready. Klink watched his daughter walk into the room. He then turned toward the stove. He walked over and pushed the stove to the side. He looked down into the whole. He had never been down into the tunnels before, and he was not sure if Hogan had told the other POW's that he knew about them or not. He moved to the whole and started to climb down. Once he was clear of the stove; he pulled it back into place. Klink stepped down off of the ladder. He looked around and saw the tunnels went in both directions. Klink had to admit that this was very impressive. He turned to walk what he hoped to be the right way. Klink turned a corner to only to come face to face with two POW's. One of the POW's pulled out a gun and pointed at him.

"What are you doing down here Kraut?" He asked him. Klink smiled and raised his hands up.

"I came down to talk to Colonel Hogan. I have some good news that I wanted to share with him." He told them. The POW with the gun looked over at his friend. 'I guess Robert didn't tell them.' Klink thought to himself. A small part of him was hurt that his love would not tell the other POW's that he was on their side. It was when the one with the gun spoke to his friend is what brought him out of his thought.

"What do you think Thomas?" The man named Thomas looked Klink up and down. Klink saw a large smile come to the man's lips.

"Well Jackson… I think that he is full of…"

"Qu'est-ce qui se passe ici?" All three men looked over to see LeBeau standing at the tunnel doorway. Two of the men raised a brow at him. LeBeau sighed and went to ask again, but Klink told the men what he had said.

"He just asked the both of you what was going on here?" Both men looked from him to the Frenchman.

"Is that what you asked?" Thomas asked the little man. LeBeau rolled his eyes and nodded his head.

"Oh well, this stupid Kraut just walked in here." Said Jackson still pointing the gun at Klink. LeBeau looked over at Klink with a raised brow.

"You did? Why?" He asked the German Kommandant.

"He said that he wanted to tell Colonel Hogan something." Said Jackson again. LeBeau walked over toward Klink and asked him.

"Is it about Newkirk?" Klink smiled and nodded his head.

"Yes it is." The small Frenchman smiled wide.

"I will take you to mon Colonel." He told him. Klink lowered his hands, and went to follow LeBeau. They both stopped when they heard one of the POW's speak to them.

"Wait? What the hell?" He asked. LeBeau sighed deeply and turned toward them.

"He is one of us. Monsieur Kommandant has always been one of us." He told them. This made Klink smile at hearing this. He looked back at the two men who had their brows raised. When LeBeau turned and walked out; Klink followed him.

"Thank you for telling them that. I thought that Hogan would have told the POW's that I was on their side." He admitted to the smaller man.

"Mon Colonel did tell a few of them that had been here awhile, but not the newer ones. He wasn't sure that they would believe him or not. He was afraid that they would think that he was a spy for the Germans, and that he had switched sides." LeBeau told him as they walked down the tunnel. Klink thought about this and knew that it was true. If Hogan did tell them this; they would think that, or maybe try to kill him, and the ones that would stand up for him.

"I understand." He said as they reached the room where his love was in. Klink turned the corner to see his love sitting on a stool at a radio with a headset on. Klink walked closer to hear his love say.

"Yes General Butler. You heard me right; Hochstetter wants to set up a meeting with an agent to get Mary's…" Hogan trailed off on what he was saying when he glanced up, and saw his love standing there smiling at him. Not heard to anyone but Hogan.

"Robert? What is it?" Came from the headset. Hogan said into the headset while still looking at his love.

"Hold on for a moment." He said and sat the headset down. He got up and walked over to his love.

"Will what are you doing down here?" He asked him. Klink smiled and told him.

"I came to tell you some good news." Hogan raised a brow at him.

"What?" He asked.

"Mary ran into my office to tell me that Newkirk can come back to the house." At this news Hogan smiled wide. Kinch and LeBeau also smiled at the good news.

"That's great!" Both looked over at Kinch who spoke up now.

"Uhm Colonel. General Butler is asking what is going on?" He said with a smile.

"Oh shit." Hogan moved back to the headset and put them on. This made the older man smile, and shake his head.

"I'm sorry General. We have a guest here and I was asking him what he was doing here." Hogan laughed lightly into the headset. Klink walked over, and looked at Kinch as Hogan kept talking.

"How is it that no one will pick up on this broadcast?" He asked. Kinch looked up and told him that they were using a radio frequency that was safe to use.

"If anyone besides us try to listen in; the only thing they hear is a song being played over and over. This is the safest way for us to have long chats with London." He told him. Klink raised his brows at this.

"That is a good idea." He said. Then looked over at his love when he said his name.

"Will… General Butler wants for you to listen in, and to talk to you." He told his love. Hogan smiled wide at the look on his loves face. Kinch got up and handed the older man a headset as he sat down. Klink placed the headset on and looked at his love. Hogan smiled and spoke.

"Alright General he is here." In his ears; Klink heard the General speak.

"That's good. Now that everyone is here. I would like to ask you some questions Colonel Klink; if that is alright with you?" Butler asked him.

"Yes Herr General." Hogan narrowed his brows at his love when he had put in Herr. Klink saw this and raised a brow.

"You don't have to put Herr in front of General." Hogan told him. Klink looked at the younger man with a strong look.

"Robert, I was bred to address someone of nobility, and in the military in that way. I have always done that." His love told him.

"Really?" Came the voice over the headset. Kinch chuckled lightly at the faces the two made. They had forgotten that the British General was on the radio, and could hear them. Klink looked to the side.

"Yes. My father was in the military, and he made sure that myself as well as my brother, and sister was to address those with a title by their titles." Klink told the man that saw his love as a son.

"Well that's very noble of you." Butler said in a happy tone. "But Hogan told me that you have known about them for along time now." The voice stated.

"Yes Herr General that is right. I found out what Hogan was doing here after the third week of him being in this camp." Klink told the man.

"I see. So why didn't you turn him into the Gestapo?" Butler asked wanting to know why this German man would not do so.

"Well Herr General… I hate this war. I had to fight in the first one, and some in this one. I have seen what war does to a man, and to those that are brought into it. I have seen what it has done to those on the front lines, and in the homes of those that have fought. Like I said before my father was in the military, and he was a firm man. I was told by my older brother that our father had not always had been that way. My brother Wolfgang is three years older than myself. He can remember when our father had been a nice man, but war and fighting had changed him. He ran the house hold like he did when he was ordering his men around. My brother and I were the ones that took all of the yelling and… lets say discipline that he gave us. My sister was not brought up in that way. When my mother had died after given birth to my sister…"

"Wait what?" Klink looked up into his loves widen eyes. "Your mother died! Why didn't you tell me this before?" He added.

"You never asked me." He told his love.

"You could have brought that up on our date." As soon as the words came out of Hogan's mouth; his eyes widen. Kinch and LeBeau turned around with wide eyes, and stared at their commanding officer. Klink on the other hand had closed his eyes and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry. Did you just say the words "our date"?" Asked General Butler in a sweet voice. Hogan smiled a lopsided smile and said.

"Oops… I did, didn't I." He laughed lightly at this.

"So when you told me that you trusted Colonel Klink with your life, and that you had questioned him about switching sides; was this before, or after you made out with him?" Klink's eyes snapped open as his face got red. He saw his love's eyes widen even more, and saw his face get blood red. Over the radio they both heard Butler laughing. "Oh I wish I was there to see both of your faces." He added with a loud laugh. Hogan lowered his head.

"That's not funny." He said in a sheepish voice. What was said next by the British General; made Klink chuckle.

"Oh like hell it's not." Butler said laughing hard again. Klink smiled and spoke up.

"Well at least he's taking it well." Hogan looked up at his love with wide eyes, and still redden face. Hogan heard in his ear.

"Don't worry Robert. I kinda knew that you had a thing for him. I mean all the times you had saved his life; both from people like the Gestapo and from illness. I usually know when you ask for something; it is mostly to protect him." As General Butler spoke; Hogan's face got redder, and his eyes widen as far as they could. Klink smiled at hearing that his love had always been looking out for him.

"Well I have to say Herr General; that I have always protected Robert as well. I would let it "slip out" that the Gestapo was in the woods, or tried to place more guards around the camp; in hope that Robert would stay in the camp for the night, or for a few days. Well at least until it was safe for him and his friends to go out, and do what they had too." When Klink said all of this; Hogan smiled wide at him. 'I didn't know that he did all of that to keep me, and the other's safe.' He thought to himself.

"Well it looks like both of you have been looking after each other for along time." Butler said with an unseen smile. He was happy that his adopted son had found someone that would love him and protect him.

"It looks like it." Hogan said as he slid his hand over his loves. Klink moved his hand around to where they were holding hands now.

"So Colonel Klink; please continue on what your were saying." Klink nodded his head, and started to speak again.

"Like I said Herr General; my mother had died after given birth to my sister. My father started to look for a wife to take care of his children. It was mostly because he didn't want to take care of a newborn, a three year old, and a six year old. My father went to Italy to find a wife, and he did find one. He married her in Italy. When he came home with my new step mother; he tried to order her around like he had done my mother. But he did find out very quickly that his new wife, and my new step mother would not take it. She made it very clear to him that she, and his children would not be pushed around anymore. I have to say Herr General. My step mother Claudia is not a woman that you can push around. My father was not too happy about the fact that he couldn't have the control like he used too. He then started to take it out on myself and my older brother. Our step mother stepped in many times, and yes he would smack her… But my father may have started the fight, but my step mother finished it." Klink felt Hogan grip his hand tightly. This caused him to look over into his loves sadden eyes.

"Colonel?" He heard the General.

"I am here. Robert is upset about this. I had never told anyone about what my home and childhood was like. But anyway… the point that I was trying to make was that fighting in a war can change a man. When I was put into the military by my father; I didn't want to go. The men I fought beside with in the first war… I saw them go from loving son's, husband's, and father's; to coldhearted monster's. Their families would hate to see them walking toward them. Many of the men that I had fought beside ended up killing their loved one's. It was either out of anger, or they just snapped. Watching a man that you know; may he be young, or old being killed in front of you… It leaves scars on your mind and soul. I know that for a fact." Hogan frowned and looked down at their hands. He knew that his love was talking about the man that he use to have the older man's heart. Hogan glanced back up when his love started to talk again.

"I did as told then, and even now in this war; just to be able to stay alive. There are others like myself that live this way. We don't agree or disagree with what is being said; we only go along with it to stay alive for our loved one's. I get asked so many times from other's like General Burkhalter; on why I am not married yet. I will not get married until I know that the one I love is safe, and will not be held against me, or the other way around. I love Robert very much, and I would do anything to keep him safe. I hate this war. It is nothing more than some little child wanting all eyes on him. I do not see this as me turning on my fatherland… but saving it from a madman…. And it's just a plus that I fell in love with your adopted son." Klink smiled wide at his love when he said this. Hogan smiled a sheepish smile at his loves words; then what Klink said next made not only Hogan's eyes widen, but Kinch's and LeBeau's as well.

"And if I could be able to marry him, and not be killed for it… I would." In there headset; both heard the General's voice

"Well that has been talked about here lately. So maybe here soon both of you may get the chance to marry." Both Colonel's smiled at this.

"I do hope so… and like I said before; you better pull out all the stops when you ask me." Hogan smiled a large smile at his love. Klink narrowed his eyes and repeated what he had said before.

"I told you before you have options; to marry me, or be shot." Hogan narrowed his eyes and went to say something, but heard in his ear.

"Oh my god… that's a good one." Butler laughed very hard at this.

"That's not funny!" Hogan told his adopted father. When he heard other's laughing; Hogan looked over to see Kinch and LeBeau laughing as well. Klink chuckled as he saw his love start to pout. Rubbing his loves hand with his; the younger man looked up at him with a smile. After Butler had calmed down; he started to speak again.

"Well than Colonel Klink on what you were talking about before; it sounds like you are just as great as my son has told me." Klink smiled at the General's words. He then heard the man speak again.

"Now Colonel, what is your input on this Major Hochstetter?" Klink narrowed his brows at the General's question.

"Well Herr General; I have to say that… I don't know what to think. Hochstetter in the past has made life hell for both myself and Robert. But I think that the man really does want to help Mary. I noticed that when he was looking at the photo's of her scars; that he was looking at them with pain on his face. My old friend Dr. Laszlo Kreizler also noticed it. I have known Hochstetter for as long as Robert has, but I have never seen the man shy away from photo's of scars on someone's body before. Robert told me that the man admitted to him; that he had cried quite a bit. And I have to say for that man to admit something like that to a man that he hates with a passion; speaks for it's self… He would have never admitted that to Robert let alone anyone; that he actually cried for someone that he doesn't really know. He is too proud of a man to admit weakness like that to someone that he sees as an enemy." Both Colonel's heard nothing over the radio for a few seconds.

"Do you think that the man will hold up on what my son had asked of him?" The General asked. Klink sighed then spoke.

"I don't know. I say that he will. He says that he wants to help Mary, but… this could be another way for him to get his hands on Robert…"

"What would you do if he does take him?" Hogan looked down at the floor. A part of him wanted to know what his love would do to save him, but the other part wanted him to be safe.

"I would call my mother and ask for her help." Hogan narrowed his eyes and snapped his head up.

"What?" This cause Klink to smile at him. Kinch and LeBeau moved to stand beside of their commanding officer, and looked at the older man with faces that matched the younger Colonel's.

"I would call my mother…"

"Really? If something was to happened to me; you would call your mother to help you? How the hell is she suppose to help?" Hogan asked his love with raised brows.

"Yes I would like to know that too." Klink heard over the headset. The older man shook his head slowly and told all four men.

"My step mother… well I call her my mother because she was always there for me. She is part of a well known family, and she has strong connections. I told you her first name, but not her last. The woman's name who took in and raised myself, my brother, and my sister; her name is Claudia De Medici." Once Klink said his step mother's last name; the three men in front of him dropped their mouths. Over the radio and unseen to them; General Butler's mouth had also dropped. Klink couldn't help himself; he had to chuckle at this.

"Your mother's last name is De Medici?" Hogan asked him with now widen eyes. Holding in his laugh; Klink nodded his head.

"Yes it is. I have to say the only really good thing that my father had ever done for his children was to marry her. She doesn't take… well as Robert puts it; she doesn't take shit from no one." Klink watched his young love as a large smile came to his face. Over the headset they both heard.

"Well in that case if the Major does keep his promise; then you can set up the meeting son… but please be careful." Hogan smiled at hearing this.

"I will. Now father if you don't mind my best friend and the love of my daughter's life is getting the green light to come back to the house."

"Corporal Newkirk has healed that quickly?" Butler asked.

"Yeah he has. I know that he will have to be on bedrest for awhile, but with our little girl watching over him; he will be up in no time." Hogan smiled at his love; who smiled back at him.

"Our little girl?" Klink chuckled when he saw his love's eyes widen again.

"Yes Herr General. I see and call Mary my daughter. So in away; she has two father's." The German Colonel told the British General. Butler smiled an unseen smile at hearing this.

"Very well. Corporal Newkirk will be getting a large thank you from me when I see him. Butler out." With that the line went silent.

Hogan and Klink took the headsets off, and laid them down onto the table. The older man was taken off guard as his love pulled him close to him. Hogan smiled at the older man, and leaned in to kiss him on the lips. Kinch and LeBeau turned around to give the two men privacy. Once the kiss broke; Klink smiled at his love.

"What was that for?" He asked him.

"That was for many things. One is that I'm sorry that your father was not a nice man. And if something was to happen to me; that you would call your mother to help me. And I will ask questions on that later, but mostly for… for loving me. You did all of that to keep me safe. And not just me, but everyone else." Klink smiled at his love when he said this.

"Well I think that I should get something more than just a kiss for saving your ass as many times as I have. Sergeant Kinch…"

"Wait what? What does that mean?" Hogan asked. Klink looked at his love, but kept talking to Kinch.

"Could you and LeBeau get the POW's together, and tell Schultz to get all the Guards together." Kinch and LeBeau looked at the older man with raised brows.

"Okay, but why?" Kinch asked.

"Well General Butler said that Newkirk will get a big thank you for saving Mary. I think that he should get one when he walks out of the sick bay." Both men smiled at the German man.

"I think that is a great idea." LeBeau said with a large smile. Klink turned to walk out of the radio room. He looked behind him and saw Hogan hot on his heels.

"What did you mean by all of the times you have saved my ass?" He asked him again. Klink walked to the ladder and placed a hand on it.

"Robert my little fox. I have killed a lot of people to keep you safe and alive." He told his love the truth. The older man started to climb up the ladder that led up to the house. Hogan narrowed his brows at this.

"Killed? You have killed people to keep me safe?" He asked; then added. "How many?" Klink smiled as he looked at his love on the ground.

"Oh about twenty so far." Hogan's eyes widen at this news.

"You have killed twenty people to keep me safe?" Klink sighed and looked down at his love again.

"Yes I have. Robert sweetheart… You running your mouth and making them look like fools; is what led me to kill them. There were many that they were going to come back here to kill you, or force me to kill you, or have someone else kill you." He told him as he reached the top. As Klink pushed the stove out of the way; Hogan looked down at the ground. He didn't think that his life was in that much danger before. 'He did that for me?' He asked himself. Then thinking back on those that he; himself had killed, or had sent to England to save his love.

"You coming?" He heard his love ask him. Hogan looked up and nodded his head.

Mary walked into hers and her loves bedroom. She walked over to the bed and took off the sheets. Mary was smiling wide at the fact that her love was coming to their little family home today. As she was putting on the new sheets; she started to hum a little tune. When she was putting on her loves pillow case; Mary's smile grew wider. Deep down she had missed being in his arms at night.

"I know that both Peter and I have missed holding each other." She spoke out loud to herself as she grabbed the clean blankets.

Mary smoothed out the blankets that were on the bed now. She looked over the room to see if she had missed something. The bed was made up with clean sheets and blankets. She walked over and got out some clean clothes for her love. Once the clothes were in hand; Mary made her way into the bathroom. She knew at one point that her Huntsman would want to clean up. Smiling wide at the thought of her helping him once again in the shower came to her mind. Placing the towels beside the tub; her eyes looked over to see if she needed to set anything else out. With a nod; Mary walked out of the bathroom. She reached the doorway to the bedroom, but stopped. Turning her head; her eyes glanced at the closet. She had made herself dresses like Burkhalter had asked her, but she had just brought them to the bedroom, and placed them into the closet. Mary turned around, and walked toward the closet. She stopped when she saw herself in the floor-length mirror. She was still wearing the green dress that her love had made her, but she thought that maybe she should wear something for this big moment. It was true that her love was only coming from the sick bay to the house, but to Mary; it was something more than that. To her; Newkirk was coming home to be in her arms again. They could lay in bed and hold each other once again. The main thing was that her love was alive and healing quickly. Walking over to the closet; she opened the door. Looking inside; her eyes scanned over the new dresses that she had made. Moving her eyes from left to right; she found one that screamed at her to wear for this big moment. Smiling to herself; Mary grabbed the dress and went to put it on.

Once the dress was on; she walked over to a small mirror that was on the little table in the room. She picked up her brush, and brushed her hair softly so not to hit the small cut. Once brushed; Mary took a small piece of hair on her left side of her face, and braided it. She then reached over, and took five little pearls in her hand. Mary then placed them going down the braid. Looking at herself again in the little mirror; she felt like something was missing. Thinking of what it could be; her eyes scanned over the things that she had on the little table. Her eyes spotted some red fake roses that she would have used to sew on a dress. With a large smile; Mary picked all of them up. She twisted the ends of each flower together. After that Mary got up from the little table, and walked over to the larger mirror. She placed the crown of red roses on her head. With a large smile; her eyes looked over herself in the mirror.

"That is so much better." She told herself and walked out into the living room. She sat down in one of the chairs while she waited for her father's to come up from the tunnels. As she sat there with a large smile on her face; Mary thought on what she was going to fix her love for dinner tonight.

'I want to make something that will bring a smile to his face.' She thought to herself. Mary was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the stove being moved. Looking over she saw her Vater climb out of the whole. He then looked down, and asked her father if he was coming up. Mary stood up and waited for her father to come up all the way. Klink looked up and stopped what he was doing. His eyes were on her dress. Hogan moved the stove over, and looked at his love. When he saw the older man looking ahead; he turned his head. Hogan's mouth dropped at the dress that his daughter was wearing.

Mary was wearing a snow white lace dress that had a slit that started at her mid upper leg. The four slit's of the lace dress laid on a cream colored chiffon and silk skirt. The long lace sleeves stopped at her wrist; while the neckline was in the shape of an U. Both around the neckline and her wrist was the same creamed color, but in bunched up tulle. Around her waist was a belt made of chiffon. The belt was a snow white in color, but showed rhinestones in a rose pattern that was sewn on the belt. The dress had a pencil silhouette that made her look so elegant. The bottom of the dress almost touched the floor, but was short enough to just see the tips of her shoes. Mary walked over to her father's who were staring at her with opened mouths. Both men looked at the crown of roses that she war on top of her head. 'Okay now she looks like a Queen.' Hogan thought to himself

"Are you two ready to go?" She asked them; then giggled as both of her fathers nodded their heads, but was still looking at her dress. Klink closed his mouth and smiled wide. He looked over to the younger man. Hogan smiled at him then followed his little girl. Both men knew that this dress that she was wearing; was to bring a large smile to her loves lips.

The three walked out of the house, and across the grounds of the camp. Mary didn't notice all eyes on her. She walked quickly to the sick bay to see her love, and to take him to their little family home. The guard's and POW's all watched her walk across the grounds. Their mouth's would drop, or their eyes would widen at the sight of her in this dress. Mary smiled as she walked closer to the sick bay. Behind her was her father's; Hogan and Klink both heard the men talk about how beautiful their little girl looked in the dress. Hogan had actually heard Schultz warn one of the guard's to only call Mary beautiful, and that was all. Klink smiled as he spotted two POW's walking toward the mess hall, but stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Mary in her dress. Both men's mouths dropped as they turned their heads to follow her as she walked by. Looking back at the young woman in front of him; Klink saw that Mary was not even looking at any of the men that were staring at her. Her eyes were fixed on the building that her love was in. When they were a few feet away; Mary couldn't take her time any longer. She quickened her pace to get to the door. Klink chuckled when he saw this. Hogan had saw this too, and smiled at how happy his daughter was to see her love again.

Mary opened the door to the sick bay. She quickly made her way to the room that her love was in. Once she walked threw the door; she saw her Huntsmen sitting on the side of the bed. Newkirk looked up when he heard someone come into the room. Her eyes watched a large smile come to his lips. Kreizler looked over to see what the young man was smiling at. His eyes spotted the young woman in the dress, and his eyes widen at the sight. Both Colonels walked in and saw General Burkhalter standing near Newkirk. The older man's mouth had dropped at the sight of their little girl. Mary walked up to her love with a large smile on her lips.

"Mary you look amazing in that!" Her smile grew larger when Newkirk said this. Newkirk smiled wide as he looked his love up and down.

"Thank you my sweet Huntsman." Mary smiled as she leaned down to kiss him on the lips. Mary looked over toward Kreizler and asked. "Can I take my gold heart home now?" Kreizler shook his head slightly, and answered.

"Uhm yes you can, but there is somethings you have to know first." When he said this all of the men could see the young woman stiffen up slightly. Kreizler held up his hand and reinsured her.

"Don't worry it is nothing bad. I told Newkirk this, but I have a feeling that he will not listen; so I will tell you. He may have a hard time for a few days being able to stand, and walk. Where he was in bed for so long can cause him, or anyone's legs to get weak. He can only take baths for awhile. I had showed you how to clean his wounds, and how to put on the bandages. He can get up and walk around for a bit, but once he gets tired he must rest. Wilhelm will give a shot for the pain when he needs one, but don't let him over do it. His sling must stay on for another four weeks or so. I will come and look at the wound on his arm off and on to see if he will still need it. And also make sure that your father keeps his sling on as well." Kreizler glanced up to glare at Hogan. Hogan smiled at the man. Klink turned his head and saw that his love was not wearing the sling like he was suppose to.

"Where is your sling for your arm?" He asked his love. Hogan looked over, and raised his hand up to rub the back of his neck and head. He went to answer, but Mary cut in without looking behind her.

"It's on his bed over there." Hogan narrowed his eyes at his daughter for telling on him. He looked back over at his love with wide eyes when he spoke to him.

"Go put it on!" With a sigh and a pout; Hogan walked over and put on the sling. He walked back over to his love.

"Alright I have it on… Happy." Without looking Klink said.

"Yes… hardhead." This comment cause Hogan to snap his head over to look at the older man. Mary smiled and shook her head.

"Please continue Laszlo." Kreizler smiled and went on.

"Well I told you pretty much everything… Oh yes and I don't care how manly he tries to be." Newkirk looked up at the man with narrowed eyes. "Don't let him think that he can go a day, or days without the pain medicine." Newkirk went to say something, but Mary cut in.

"Don't worry. I will take good care of my hardheaded gold heart." Newkirk snapped his head over to look at his love. His eyes found her looking at him with a large smile on her lips. He went to tell her that he could take the pain, but sighed. He knew that Mary would not let him walk around in pain. Newkirk looked up at the German doctor when he finally said.

"Alright… he can go to the house now." Mary smiled wide with happiness when she heard these words.

Newkirk stood up, but almost fell back down. He looked over toward his Snow when he felt her arms around him. With a smile he stood up again. Once he was able to stand without falling back; Newkirk started to walk to the door with his loves help. Mary had placed his arm over her shoulder; while her left arm was wrapped around his waist. Hogan moved to open the door as well as Klink. Burkhalter who had been quiet the whole time walked behind them. When Kreizler had called him to tell him that Newkirk was getting to go back to the house; he didn't want to miss this moment.

Once outside; Newkirk and Mary looked up to find all of the POW's and the Guard's standing in front of them. Kinch, Carter and LeBeau started to clap for their friend. Both in love looked over when Hogan and Klink started to clap as well. They looked back with wide eyes as everyone in the camp started to clap for Newkirk. Newkirk smiled and looked over toward Mary who was looking at him with a large smile. Without caring if his next action would hurt his side; Newkirk leaned down, and kissed his love on the lips. Mary smiled in the kiss, and kissed him back. When they did this everyone started to clap harder, and started to yell out that Newkirk was a hero. When the kiss broke; Mary helped her love walk to the house. Once in the house; Newkirk saw what his friends had done for their little sister, and his love. He was happy to know that they cared about Mary enough to not let her have a flashback. Mary helped her love to their bedroom. Newkirk smiled when he saw the bed made up with clean sheets and blankets. He felt his love move him toward the bed. He let his love walk him over to the bed. Newkirk smiled at her as she pulled the covers down. The walk had been a short walk, but it still had made him tired. Trying not to let the tiredness be heard in his voice; he told her.

"Mary, I have been in bed for almost a week now. Kreizler said that I could walk around now." Mary knew better than that. She knew that her love was tired from the walk over here; even if it was a short walk.

"You are tired from the walk over here. You need to rest in the bed for awhile. And Laszlo did say not to let you over do it. So you are going to rest in bed for a bit, and when supper is done I will help you to the table. Then after supper; you and I can sit on the sofa together." She told him while not looking at him until the end. Newkirk smiled at her words, and looked up at her when she had finished speaking. With a sigh he got into bed. Smiling wide as his love covered him up; he watched as Mary quickly made her way to the other side of the bed. She took off the crown of roses that was on her head, and laid it on the table; that was beside the bed. Mary laid on top of the covers and moved herself into his arm. She made sure not to hurt him as she placed her arm around his waist. As Mary laid her head onto his chest; she sighed heavily. This caused Newkirk to chuckle lightly. He laid his head onto hers, and sighed with a smile on his lips.

"Finally… I'm in your arms again." When Mary had said this Newkirk smiled wider.

"Yes you are… And I would not have it any other way." He told her.

They laid there holding each other until Newkirk went to sleep. Mary smiled at hearing her Huntsman's heartbeat again. Looking up to see his sleeping face; she smiled and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek.

Klink went back to his office while Mary helped his son, and her love to the house. Hogan had went to the house with them; while he went to the Kommandantur. Klink walked into his office, and sat down at his desk. He started to do the paper work that seemed to have no end. As he was signing his name to a paper; the phone on his desk began to ring. With a heavy sigh; he reached over and picked up the handset.

"Stalag 13, Colonel Klink speaking." His eyes widen at the sound of the other voice that came across the other end of the line.

"Guten abend Colonel this is Major Hochstetter. You can come and look over Headquarters whenever you want. Everything has been changed here like promised." Klink's mouth dropped. He cleared his throat and spoke.

"Very well I will tell him, and I will be there in an hour or so. Newkirk is back at the house, and I want to check on him before I leave." On the other end of the line he heard the Major say.

"Good good, I bet Fräulein Mary is very happy about that." He said in an actual happy tone.

"Yes she is very happy. She pretty much ran to the sick bay to see him; after she had gotten the bedroom ready for him. Mary is very happy to have him back in their bed with her. I know that she was very happy to finally be able to laid down with him in the same bed, but I think that she was also happy to show him her new dress that she had made. Mary does love to bring a smile to his face. I say whatever she cooks for supper tonight will be very good. Mary loves to make other's smile." Klink chuckled at remembering his daughter almost running to the sick bay.

"Well I am very happy that she and Corporal Newkirk are back to the way they were before all of this mess started." Klink noticed that the man actually did sound happy to hear the good news.

"I will be there in a hour and ten minutes." He told the Major.

"Very well. I will be waiting outside for you." He told him. What the Major said next really shocked the German Colonel. "Auf Wiedersehen." He added before the line went dead.

"Auf Wiedersehen." Klink said to the dead line. He sat the handset down, and turned his head. "Well that was odd." He said as he got up. In all the time he had known the man; he had never began a call or ended a call without saying the phrase that everyone in Germany was suppose to say. Klink had always hated saying the phrase. Even now thinking about saying it; made the anger rise within him. He walked out of his office. As he made his way to the house where his little family was. There had been many times he had not said the phrase, because he hated saying it. Klink smiled at the thought of what he really wanted to say to those that said the phrase. 'Hi the little man in Berlin. The man that wants all eyes on him. The man who wrote a book on basically what he was going to do before he started this war. Hi the little man that has mother issues… I can't wait for this war to be over with.' He thought to himself. Then stopping in his tracks; he thought again. 'Then again… I am not ready to let them go just yet.' The thought again on having to say goodbye to his love, daughter, and son; made his heart hurt. Klink pushed the thought away with a sigh. Making his way into the house now; Klink heard two voices in the kitchen. Walking slowly so not to be heard; he listened on what was being said.

After a few moments of listening to her love sleep; Mary slowly got out of bed. She made her way to the door, and opened it. She glanced back at him; then with a smile she left her love to sleep. Mary made her way out to the living room. She looked around, and saw that her fathers were not there. Looking at their bedroom door; she saw that it was standing open. Narrowing her eyes; Mary shrugged it off and made her way into the kitchen. She walked into the kitchen to start cooking, but her eyes found her father sitting at the table. Hogan was sitting at the table with his arm still in the sling; while in his other hand he held his coffee cup. Mary saw that her father was staring down into his coffee. She knew that her father's mind was somewhere else at this moment. She stood there for a minute until she saw him close his eyes and make a painful face.

"Papa what's wrong?" She asked him. Hogan jumped slightly at hearing his daughter's voice. He looked up at his daughter. With a sigh he looked back down and told her.

"I was sitting here wondering why I ever fell for your mother." Mary raised a brow at this.

"What? Well that came out of nowhere." She asked and stated as she walked over to him. Hogan sat up more in his chair as he spoke again.

"I don't know why I fell for her. She was so selfish, and controlling. She only wanted me to hold her, or kiss her; is when she wanted something from me. How did I not see that she was using me?" He asked mostly himself. Mary sat down beside her father and told him.

"Lizzie could charm a cobra if she wanted too. She probably told you something that you wanted to hear at that time. That is how she always did it. I had watched her charm one of George's friends one time. He had came over to the house looking for George, but only found her there. I was to stay in the kitchen at the time. But I saw how she did it though. The man was nothing like George at all. He was a nice man… A little broken in away." Hogan looked at his daughter with narrowed brows.

"What? What do you mean by that?" He asked her. Mary sighed and told her father.

"Lizzie would go for men that were a little broken. I guess; she wanted to find someone for her to mold into what she wanted them to be. She would start out by asking them the same questions that she asked all of the men. If they were married, or was happily married. If they were married; she would ask who was their wife. They would tell her their wives name; then she would tell them; that she knew their wife. But she never actually knew them. She would tell them that she had seen their wives with someone else. When they would get mad; she would tell them that they should get even with them. She would talk them into sleeping with her. But she always made it sound like they were doing it to teach their wives a lesson." Mary rolled her eyes. Hogan listened as his daughter went on.

"If they said that they were not married; then she would start asking them the other questions. Like if they wanted a family someday. Most of the men said that they would one day, but there was some; that said that they didn't want children. Those were the ones that she really preyed on. Lizzie would tell them that she wished that she had a wonderful man like them. That would always get their attention. Once she had it; she would start telling them that either the man that she was with, or was with now; was not good to her. Like with George; Lizzie told this poor man that George beat her and raped her. She would tell them the things that he did to her, but in reality it was all done to me. The men would feel sorry for her. I don't know how she did it before I was born, but that is how she did it after… What all did she ask you Papa?" She asked him. Hogan shook his head and told her.

"She asked me the married thing; then the do I want kids someday thing. When I told her that I wasn't, and that I didn't want kids…" He looked at his daughter, and added quickly. "I thought that I didn't when I was younger… I do want you… I.." Mary smiled at him and placed her hand onto his.

"I know Papa." Hogan smiled at this.

"Well I told her that; and she started to tell me about her ex… oh my god." Hogan paused for a moment. "She played me… she played me like a fool." He said in a brokenhearted voice. Mary moved closer to him. She laid her head onto his shoulder; then lifted it when she heard him sob very quietly.

"Papa?" Mary moved closer to her father, and placed her head closer to his. "Did you love her that much?" She asked and added. Hogan lowered his head and nodded it.

"I did… I loved Lizzie so much. She made me feel like I was truly loved… I fell so hard for her, and she… she didn't care for me. I was so broken when she left me… and maybe when she found me. I should have seen what she was doing to me. She only wanted me when I had money. I loved her so much. She would sit in my lap, and would tell me that I was the one. We talked about getting married. I had a ring for her and everything. That night that she left me… I was going to ask her to marry me, but she was gone. I read the note that she wrote, and… lost it. I told you this yes, but what I didn't tell you is that after… I…" Hogan lifted his head slightly. Mary saw the few tears that ran down his cheeks.

"What Papa?" Mary asked wanting to know; so that she could find away to take her father's pain away.

"I dated a man by the name of Jason Waters. I was with him for a few months." Mary's eyes widen at this news.

"Papa, why didn't you tell me this part?" She asked him. Hogan lifted his head more, and looked into his daughter's snowy blue eyes.

"I don't know… Jason was good when other people were around. When he and I were alone; he was so different. He drank all the time. I told you some about my father, but not all of it. There are somethings that I left out, because I didn't want you to feel sorry for me." Mary frowned and stood up. She moved over and hugged her father.

"Papa… you should know that I would not do that. I am here to listen to you; just like you are here for me. If you want to tell me about my ass of a grandfather then you can, or about Jason then you can. But I know what it is like, and I know how to ease the pain like Peter, Vater and most importantly… like you did for me." Hogan smiled and placed his hand on his daughter's arm. He breathed in and started to tell his daughter about his father, and about the man that reminded him of his father.

"First of all… my father… gave me to a man at the liquor store." When Mary heard this; she moved away, and sat down beside of her father again.

"What?" She asked as anger rose within her. Hogan nodded his head.

"He gave me to him for five bottles of liquor. The man did rape me… My father waterboarded me, and beat me. He was drunk all the time. Jason was kind of like him in away. He would get drunk, and beat me yes… But he would also drug me and… rape me. I told Will some of this, but like you; I didn't tell him all of it. Jason actually broke a coffee table once, and beat me with the leg of the table. He beat me so badly that I couldn't move. When he was yelling at me to get up… I couldn't. He got on top of me… and started to choke me. A woman that lived down the hall called the base, and Butler came out. He opened the door and saw what was going on. He got him off of me, and knocked Jason's ass out cold. Butler saved me again… Jason was put into prison for what he had done. Butler brought me back to London after that. Then when I walked into the base for the first time in three months… I saw Lizzie there with George. I noticed that she was pregnant with you. She was four months along, and I went and told Butler. He told me to go back home." Once Hogan had finished speaking; he didn't look over. He didn't want to see the look that his daughter was giving him.

"Papa… that was in the past. Yes what was done to you by the three of them was wrong, but you are here. You have a man that loves you, and I say can't wait to hold you tonight." Hogan looked over at this point. Mary smiled at him and went on as she lifted her hands up to wipe his tears away.

"You have a man that loves you, and would do anything for you. You have friends that love you, and will always have your back. You have a daughter that loves you so much that she actually put herself threw hell to keep you alive. Papa you are blessed with so much now. We all may not have had a wonderful or great beginning, but it has made us who we are now. I love you, and yes if I ever see this Jason guy… ever… I will kick his ass." Mary said this with a large smile, and in a sweet voice. Hogan couldn't help himself; he had to laugh at this.

"If Will is right, and you are like me; then yes you will kick his ass. I know when I was punching George in the face and in the gut… it felt pretty damn good." He admitted to her. Mary smiled and leaned over.

"I have to say when I was punching him in the face; it did feel pretty damn good. I got to show him that I was not the little girl; that he used to hurt all those month's, and year's ago." Mary smiled wide at admitting this to her father. Hogan smiled wide; then they both looked up at Klink who was at the doorway when he spoke up.

"See she is just like you." He told them both. Both father and daughter smiled at this.

"Vater, when did you sneak in?" Mary asked as she got up. Klink smiled and walked over to her and his love.

"Not too long ago… But long enough to hear what all was being said." He looked over at his love. Hogan frowned and stood up. He didn't want to talk about his past anymore. Klink walked over to him, and took him by the hand.

"She is right. I would do anything for you. I love you very much Robert, and don't ever think that I will ever stop loving you." With that said; he leaned over and kissed his love on the lips. Hogan smiled into the kiss, and kissed back. Once the kiss broke; he leaned back. Hogan smiled more when his love hugged him softly so not to hurt his arm.

"I thought that you were in your office?" He asked him. Klink's smile fell some. He pulled back and told his love about the phone call.

"Major Hochstetter called me. He told me that all the changes has been made. I told him that I would be there in a hour and ten minutes." Hogan narrowed his brows together.

"He actually called to tell you that?" He asked him. The older man nodded his head, and spoke again.

"Yes he did." Mary narrowed her brows together, and asked her fathers on what was being talked about.

"What are you two talking about? What changes?" Both men looked over toward her.

"I told Hochstetter to change how the Gestapo does things at their HQ." Mary shook her head some while she spoke again.

"But why?" Hogan looked back at his love who rubbed his good arm. He looked back at his daughter, and told her.

"Hochstetter wants to do something nice for you, but I don't believe that he would be that generous to do something like that. I told him if he wanted to help you; then he would have to change how things were done at Gestapo HQ. Snow honey… I have known this man for a long time, and he hates me a lot. But I have to make sure that he will not use, or hurt you. Mostly taking you, and hurting you to get me to talk about why I am really here. I am just…"

"Being a adoring father." Mary smiled as she finished her father's words for him. Hogan smiled and nodded his head.

"Yes. I am just trying to be a good father is all." He told her and moved to hug her. Smiling wide; Mary hugged her father back trying not to hurt his arm that was surprisingly still in the sling. Once the hug ended; Hogan looked back at his love.

"Make sure that you look over every inch of that place. He may want to show you only a few rooms that make's it look like things have changed." Klink nodded his head.

"I know. I would not put it past him to only want to show me the good things within the building. But I will look in every room in that place. If I get a hint that he has not kept his word; then I will make sure he will never come near our little girl or you ever again." Hogan smiled at this; then remembered what his love had said in the tunnels. Narrowing his brows; Hogan went to ask his love if he was planning on killing the Major if it came down to it. But Klink walked over and kissed him on the lips; then turned to leave the room. Klink made his way to his son's and daughter's bedroom. He opened the door to see his son still fast asleep. With a large smile he shut the door, and left the house. Hogan turned back toward his daughter who had leaned her head against his good arm. He smiled and laid his head down onto hers.

As Klink's car pulled up to Gestapo Headquarters; he saw the Major standing outside waiting for him. Once the car came to a stop; Major Hochstetter opened the door for Klink. Klink thanked the man, and followed him into the building. The older man was surprised that the Major told him that he would follow him around the building. Klink told him that he was going to check every room in this building, and even outside in the smaller buildings. To his shock the Major nodded his head, and told him that he knew that he would. The Major was shocked when the older man turned to walk down into the lower floors of the building first. Klink knew that's where the cell's of those that were really being beaten and questioned were at. The cell's was used for those that were thought to be spy's, or an enemy with a high rank. Klink walked down into the bottom of the building. He looked down the long hallway. The Major followed him, but soon moved in front of him. Hochstetter opened every door for the older man; so that Klink could look inside. Klink looked into every room to see if he could see any "tools" that would have been used to make whom so ever to talk. He noticed that all of that had been used in the past; had indeed been removed.

After looking at the lower level; Klink made his way up to the first level. The Major would opened the doors for the older man. The men that worked under Hochstetter saw this, and wondered why the Major cared what the older man thought. From there the two went outside to the smaller buildings that was on the property. Klink looked in the buildings. The older man moved things around to look behind them, and in them. Hochstetter did raise a brow when the older Colonel even looked in the trash can's. Klink knew that he was over doing it by wanting to look at everything that was on the property. But he knew that if Hochstetter wanted to hide things; he would put them in the places that he was looking in. When he didn't find anything outside; Klink went in, and up to the next three levels to look around as well. He was shocked that Hochstetter had kept his word; so far. Once they reached the top level of the building; the Major showed Klink to his office. Klink thought back on what all he had looked at. 'Even the cell's had been cleaned down, and warm. Usually all of the cell's were so cold that the water would freeze in them. There was even fresh food, and water for whoever is to stay in them. Even the bed's looked to be new.' He thought to himself as they reached the Major's office. Ritter was sitting outside of the office doing paperwork; when he saw the older Colonel walking with the Major. He raised a brow at the sight that was walking toward him. He stood up and raised his hand out to shake the Colonel's hand.

"Herr Oberst. What are you doing here?" He asked the older man. Klink smiled and told him.

"The Major asked me to come down here. He wanted to know how Mary and Newkirk were doing." He lied to the younger man. Hochstetter nodded his head and added to the lie.

"Yes, and I thought that you would want to know as well Captain." Ritter smiled and nodded his head.

"Yes I would. How are they?" He asked.

"They are doing well. Newkirk was able to come back to the house today. He is there now, and I am sure that Mary is planning on fixing him one hell of a supper." He said with a large smile; knowing that she probably was doing that as they spoke. Ritter smiled wide at hearing this.

"I say that she is very happy to have her love back in bed with her." Klink smiled and nodded his head. Both men looked over toward the Major when he asked.

"Would you like to come into my office for a drink?" He asked the older man. Klink nodded his head and walked into the office. Hochstetter went to follow, but stopped long enough to tell Ritter.

"Captain, could you leave the Colonel and I alone please? I have to talk to him about something personal." This caused the younger man to raise both brows at this. With a nod of his head; he told his boss that he would go, and get something to eat. Hochstetter nodded his head, and walked into his office. Klink sat down when he heard the door to the office close. Hochstetter walked over to a small table. He poured himself and the older man something to drink. With both drinks in hand; he walked over to the older man, and handed him the drink. Klink thanked him and sat his drink down. He was not going to take a drink until the Major did. He had watched the man pour the drink yes, but he knew better than to take a drink just yet. Klink was waiting until after the Major took a drink of his first. The last thing he needed was to be drugged, and for something to happen to those he loved. When Hochstetter walked around his desk, and sat down in his chair. Klink eyed the man as he took a large drink from the glass in his hand. 'I'll wait a few minutes to take a drink of mine.' He thought to himself.

"So did I pass your inspection?" Hochstetter asked in a low, but hopeful voice. Klink took his drink in hand and nodded his head.

"Yes you did… But I have to warn you Major." Hochstetter looked up to see an evil look within the older man's eyes. The slightly younger man widen his eyes at the look within the older man's eyes. 'I have never seen that look before.' Hochstetter thought to himself. Klink smiled a smile that matched the look within his eyes, and went on to say. "If this is some kind of trick to get your hands on Mary; so that you can use her against Hogan… Then I will not have a problem with killing you. I care very much for the both of them, and I will not let you get your hands on one to hurt the other. Both of them have been threw enough hell in there life." Klink took a large drink from the glass within his hand. Hochstetter's eyes widen at this warning.

"You would kill me?" He asked. He was about to go on when Klink cut in by saying.

"Yes I would. I have killed a lot of people in my past to protect those that I hold close to me. And I will kill you; to keep them safe. Mary is like my own little girl, and I love her very much. And Hogan is a very good friend of mine… Plus I don't think that you would like to piss off a member of the De Medici family." As he said this he finished his drink. He smiled wide at the look of shock on the Major's face.

"You are a member of the De Medici family?" He asked.

"Yes I am. My step mother kept her last name when she married my father. Naturally once they were married; her family became my own. I have to say that my step mother's family does love myself, and as well as my older brother, and younger sister… So Hochstetter; if you are planning on hurting Hogan or Mary, or Newkirk who I see as my own son. I will have you killed, or I will kill you myself." Klink sat the glass down onto the desk as he said this. The Major leaned back into his chair, and told the older man the truth.

"I do want to help Mary… When I was having things changed here… I really saw what was going on here. Those that past me when we cleaned out the cell's, and got rid of the… tools; I didn't see them… I saw Mary. When I read, and looked at what all was done to her… I couldn't believe it. Those that we had done some of that too here… they were broken. They couldn't do anything but look ahead, and not react to anything. But she… she can smile and laugh… She was upset because I had read about what all was done to her. She hugged me and apologized to me… I have never seen someone, or anyone to be able to push past what was done to them, and be able to smile and care about other's. I don't care if Hogan is a spy anymore. I will tell you and you alone; mostly because I know that you walk a fine line between both sides… If following that man in Berlin means I have to be heartless, and become lower than the devil himself; just to make someone talk about something that they may not even know about… Then I don't want to follow him anymore. I would rather be apart of something great; than have blood on my hands all the time… Hell I would gladly follow Mary's command if she gave me one." Klink sat back in his chair and listened to the man. He was shocked on what he was hearing, but he didn't show it. When Hochstetter said that he would follow Mary's command; Klink smiled. The thought of Mary becoming a Commanding Officer, or become a true crowned Queen; made him smile wider. Hochstetter saw the smile on the older man's face.

"What are you smiling for?" He asked him in a calm voice. Klink tilted his head and told him.

"Before I tell you; yes I did hear what you said, but I just pictured Mary in command, or being a crowned Queen. There are times that she acts like a Queen. The way she walks, and mostly talks at times. That's why Burkhalter calls her Lady Mary. But I can tell you this. If she was in command… there would be no war. Everyone it seems that she meets in her life; will benefit from meeting her. That young lady was sent from the heavens to show kindness, love, and to care for everyone around her." Hochstetter smiled wide at this.

"That is true. She was sent from the heavens… Please tell Hogan that to, and I meant what I just said. If it is possible for me to be apart of what he is doing here… than I will follow his lead, and do as told. I know that you could have me killed for saying that, but I don't think that you will. I know that you care for him… for all of them. But please tell him about what you have seen today." Klink nodded his head, and stood up.

"I will tell him, and I will send Carter to somewhere in town with a message telling you what he had said." Hochstetter raised a brow at this. Klink smiled and told him.

"I will call you and tell you where Carter is. You will come alone, and I will know if you do or not. I will have an old friend of mine that Carter has never met; he will be watching him… and you. But I will call with this code." The Major raised a brow at this. The older man sighed and told him.

"The phone lines are tapped; both mine and yours. The code will be 'My sister will see you..' then wherever, and at what time it will be. It may be a good idea for you to come and talk to Mary, and find out if she knows who her grandfather is, or if she has ever seen him before." The Major nodded his head and stood up.

"Yes I think that would be a good idea. I would like to talk to her, but with someone there with her. I'm sure that would be easier for her if someone is there with her." Klink nodded his head at this.

"That is a good idea too. Mary has flashbacks, and if she is there alone, and has one; then you may not know how to help her. I say my son… Newkirk will be there with her. He seems to know how to get her out of one, and knows when she is in one as well." Hochstetter nodded his head, and walked with Klink out of the office. They both walked out of the building, and to the older man's car. As the car pulled away Klink smiled at what he had told the Major. He hated telling people his second last name, and using his families name to threaten someone, but this time he had too. He had to make sure that his love, daughter, and son was safe.

Mary was standing in the kitchen cooking dinner for her loved ones. She smiled to herself, and couldn't wait for her love to eat. She knew that he was tired of broth and soups. Mary checked the meat that was in the pot. She smiled to herself as she took a bite of the meat; she had to make sure that it had enough flavor. The flavor was just right. As Mary put the vegetables in with the meat; she heard her father walk into the kitchen. Mary looked over to see her father walking toward her. He smiled and tried to get a look at what his daughter was cooking. Mary knew what her father was trying to do, and covered the food with the lid. Hogan narrowed his eyes playfully at her. He then turned to walk over to the table. When he sat down; he asked her.

"When I went to the Barracks; I thought I saw Kreizler walk over here earlier." He stated. Mary smiled and told him.

"You did. He came over to give me the IQ test." Hogan looked up from the table and asked.

"IQ test? He gave you an IQ test to take?" Mary dropped the last of the vegetables into the pot while she spoke.

"Yes he did. He is looking over it right now." She told him. Mary smiled as she remembered handing the test back to the older man. He had timed her taking the test, and was shocked at her time. Her father's words brought her out of her thought.

"How long did it take you to take the test?" He asked her. Mary smiled, and knew that when Kreizler came back over to the house; that he would tell them how long it took her. Hogan raised a brow when she replied.

"You will have to ask Kreizler; he was timing me. I really don't know how long it took me." She lied.

"He will be here for dinner; won't he?" He asked. Turning around; Mary nodded her head.

"Yes he will be, and then you can ask him." She turned around hiding her smile. Hogan was about to ask his daughter something else, but stopped when they heard the front door open. Klink walked into the room, and over to his daughter. He looked into the pot, and smiled at her when he saw what she had made.

"Hey why can he look at what you are cooking and not me?" Hogan asked in almost a child like voice, and a pout. Klink looked over and smiled at his love.

"Because she knows that I will be the one to help her with the cake that I know she made." Mary looked at her Vater, and smiled quickly.

"That is true. I did make a cake." She smiled wide at the idea of how she was going to decorate it. Hogan pouted a little more at this. Klink walked over to him. Hogan turned his head so not to look at the older man. Klink smiled wider, and leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. Hogan couldn't help himself; he had to smile at this. Turning his head back; he looked into his loves baby blue eyes.

"So… how did it go at Gestapo HQ?" He asked his love. The older man sighed, and told him the truth.

"Hochstetter kept his word. Everything has changed. There is no…" Klink paused as he looked over toward Mary who had her back to them. "No tools anymore." He finished. Hogan's eyes widen at this news.

"You mean that he actually kept his word, and got rid of those 'tools'?" He used one set of finger quotes. Klink smiled and nodded his head.

"I looked everywhere that they would have hid them. There is none in that building, or on the property. Even the cell's were cleaned down, and was warm. There was fresh food and water ready, and it also looked like the bed's were new as well. But there is something I have to tell you though." Hogan narrowed his brows at this.

"And what is that?" He asked. Klink walked over to a chair that was near the younger man. He took off his coat, and rolled up his sleeves as he talked.

"Hochstetter told me something that I think that you will be shocked to hear… both you and Mary." At the sound of her name; Mary turned around, and walked over to the table.

"Was ist es Vater?" She asked him in German. Klink smiled when hearing this. He looked at both of them and told them.

"He does want to help Mary. He said when he was having things changed there; he really saw what was going on there. Those that he saw being walked out of the cell's when they were cleaning them down; he said that he didn't see them… that he saw Mary. He said when he had read, and looked at what all was done to our sweet little snow; he couldn't believe that someone could do that to someone else. But I say when you had told him what you have heard from other POW's and guard's; that opened his eyes. That those they had broken; couldn't do anything but look ahead, and not react to anything. Hochstetter is amazed that our little snow can smile, and laugh after everything she has been threw. That she is not broken by what was done to her. He did say that he couldn't believe that you had been upset after finding out that he and Ritter had read, and saw what was in the file. You hugged him, and apologized to him. He then said that he doesn't care if you are a spy anymore." Klink looked at his love who was looking at him with widen eyes and opened mouth. The older man smiled and went on.

"He told me and only me, because I walk a fine line between both sides. That if following the man in Berlin means that he has to be basically become lower than the devil himself; then he doesn't want to follow him anymore. He would rather be doing something good; than wrong. He even said that he would gladly follow Mary's command if she wanted to give him one." When Klink said this Mary's eyes widen.

"What does he mean by that?" She asked stepping closer. Klink smile down at her and told her.

"I think what he meant was that if you wanted to be in Command of your own little army; he would be apart of it. He would follow your command. Think of it as you being his Queen in away." Hogan's eyes widen as far as they could at this. He stood up and asked.

"You mean to tell me; that Hochstetter would… I don't know fight with an army with a spoon… if Mary told him to do so?" He asked. This caused Klink to narrow his eyes and brows at him. The older man opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out.

"Yes that is kind of what he meant… Wait how would someone be able to do that?" Hogan started to laugh at the look on his loves face. Klink was looking at him like he had lost his mind. The younger man closed his eyes and shook his head.

"No one could be able to do that; I was just trying to make a point… nevermind. So he would actually switch sides?" He asked a more important question this time. Klink's face went back to normal when he answered his loves question.

"With all honesty… I do think that he would, or will. We will just have to see, but you can set up the meeting with an underground agent. I told him that I would send Carter to a location with a message saying when to meet with this underground agent, and where. I also warned him not to hurt you or Mary; mostly because of my second last name." Klink smiled wide at this. Hogan nodded his head and agreed with his love. Mary narrowed her eyes and asked.

"What do you mean you have a second last name, and can I know what it is?" She asked him in a happy tone.

"I would also like to know what my Vater's second last name is?" They all looked over to see Newkirk leaning against the doorway to the kitchen. Mary's eyes widen as she quickly moved to his side.

"Peter! You should have yelled for me to come and help you." She told him with worry in her voice. Newkirk smiled and wrapped his arm around her.

"I'm fine. Besides I would never yell at you unless your life was in danger." He told her with a large smile. Mary smiled at him, and helped him over to the table. Once Newkirk was sitting at the table; he looked up at Klink. Klink smiled and told his son and daughter what his second last name was. Klink started to laugh when he saw the looks on their faces. Mary looked over toward her father to see if this was a joke. Hogan nodded his head in a silent way of telling her that it was indeed true. Newkirk couldn't believe what he had heard. He had known from an early age not to mess with some members of many families, but when his master had told him not to mess with a member of the De Medici family. He had listened to him; it was when Klink spoke again is what brought both out of their shock.

"Oh and Mary…"

"Yes?" She asked not knowing what he was going to tell her.

"Major Hochstetter will be coming here at one point to talk to you." He told her. Mary raised a brow at this.

"Alright, but I don't know why he would want to talk to me about. And I don't know why he wants to help me with? What does he want to help me with by the way?" She asked. Hogan spoke up and told her.

"You will find out soon… But how about we help you finish dinner?" He asked her. Mary smiled and nodded her head. Then looked at her father's arm.

"And how are you going to help me? You and Peter both have your arms in a sling." She asked and stated. Hogan looked down and smiled.

"Oh yeah I forgot, but I'm sure that we can do something." He said trying to think of what he could do to help. Mary shook her head and told him.

"No, you and Peter can sit here, and talk to Vater and myself." Klink smiled and looked over at his love.

"Yes I think that would be the best for both of you. I don't want my son to get too tired, and miss out on what will be a damn good dinner." He said with a smile. Hogan sat down in his chair, and watched his love and daughter start on the cake that she had made. His eyes looked from them, and over to his best friend.

"How you feeling?" He asked moving into the chair next to him. Newkirk smiled and looked at his best friend.

"I feel pretty good right now. I know that I can't be up long. I hate the idea of always being in bed. I wish that I could be up more, and move around more too. I hate the idea of my Eira not having someone to protect her." Hogan raised a brow at what his friend had called his daughter. He went to ask him what he had said when Mary told him.

"Eira means Snow in Welsh." All three men smiled at this. When Mary had heard her love call her this; she smiled wide. Her eyes looked up at her Vater. His brows were narrowed, and was trying to think of what his son had meant.

"Oh okay. But I don't think that you, or anyone has to worry about that." Newkirk raised a brow at this. Hogan smiled and told him.

"Well while you were in bed. Mary has been talking to the guard's and POW's. I think everyone in camp sees her as a sister, or a niece." Newkirk smiled at this. He looked over at his love when she walked over to the table. She sat down the pans that still had the cakes in them. She glanced up to meet his blue flamed eyes. With a sheepish smile; she asked.

"Was that alright to talk to them?" Newkirk smiled and told her.

"Yeah. I think that is a good thing to do. That way they can get to know you." He told her with a smile. Mary smiled at this.

She then turned her attention to the cakes. Taking a cake out of the pan; she placed it on the cake stand. Both Newkirk and Hogan could smell the sweet smell of chocolate. As she sat the cake down; Mary reached over and grabbed the whipped cream and placed it in the middle of the cake. After she spread it out; she started to place the cherries in the middle. Klink walked over and smiled wide.

"Is that a Black Forest Cake?" He asked her. Mary nodded her head and hummed.

"Yes it is. I always wanted to try to make this cake." She told him with a smile. Both Hogan and Newkirk knew that this kind of cake was a big thing here in Germany. They both looked at each other with an unsure look. They looked back to watch Mary put on the last piece of the cake. She put more of the whipped cream on the top of the cake. Their eyes watched her smooth out the whipped cream on the top.

"Are you not going to take it down the sides?" Her love asked her.

"No… I think that it looks prettier with it just on top… Why do you think that I should?" She asked him while stopping what she was doing to look at him. Newkirk shook his head, and told her.

"No… I think that you are right. It does look pretty good like that." He said with a smile still looking at the cake. Mary smiled at him.

"You really don't care what it looks like do you? You just want a big piece." She asked and stated. Newkirk looked up with a large grin.

"Yeah I do." Mary shook her head, and went back to what she was doing. Once the whipped cream was smoothed on top of the cake; she reached over and grabbed the cherries. With a cherry in hand; she looked at the cake. All three men saw that she was trying to think how she wanted to put the cherries on. She looked up at her Vater when he spoke up.

"I think that you should put them around the edge, and then put some pieces of chocolate in the middle." Mary smiled, and looked back at the cake. She smiled wider as her love and father agreed with her Vater. Mary started to place the cherries around the edge of the cake. Once she had all the cherries on the cake; she reached over and grabbed a chocolate bar, and a vegetable peeler. They all leaned in to watch her take the peeler, and start to shave the side of the chocolate bar. The pieces of shaved chocolate fell onto the cake; making little curls. Once she was done; she backed up, and looked at the cake. With a large smile; she sat down what was in her hands.

"There it is done." She said with a smile.

Mary sat the last plate on the table. She had sent Carter to go and get Burkhalter, and Kreizler for dinner. She looked over the table to see if she had forgotten anything. Smiling to herself; she walked back into the kitchen. She walked up to her love who was still sitting in the chair at the table in the room. Newkirk had told her that he could walk by himself into the dining room, but Mary had told him no. When she had left the room; Newkirk looked over to Hogan and told him that he was going to be babied. Hogan had laughed, and leaned in to tell him that he had a feeling that both Mary, and Klink was going to baby him. Newkirk had sighed and agreed with his Commanding Officer, and best friend.

Newkirk had his eyes closed; his chest and arm was starting to hurt him pretty badly now. He had not said anything to either of the three. He didn't want to miss the first meal he was going to share with his love after almost a week being in the sick bay. Newkirk looked up from the table into his loves snowy blue eyes. Mary smiled as she looked deep within his blue flamed eyes. She didn't say anything, but placed her arm around his waist, and helped him up. Newkirk smiled as his love helped him into the next room. When he walked into the room; Kinch pulled his friends chair out for him. Newkirk thanked his friend, and breathed out heavily. Kinch leaned down close to his friends ear, and whispered.

"You are in so much pain right now aren't you." He stated. Newkirk leaned over, and whispered very low so that his love would not hear him.

"At this point; I just want to rip my arm off." He said with a forced smile. Kinch nodded his head, and helped his little sister bring the drinks to the table. LeBeau went to sit next to Newkirk, but half way down in the seat he realized that Mary was going to be sitting beside him. Newkirk looked over as the small Frenchmen moved over to the seat next to Mary's. Mary walked out of the kitchen with the large pot in hand. She took the lid off of the pot, and Hogan finally was able to look inside of the pot to see what his daughter had made. Once he saw; he smiled wide.

"You made pot roast." His smile grew wider. His daughter glanced over toward him.

"Yes I did." She said with a smile as she started to fix everyone's plate. At that time Carter walked back into the house with Burkhalter and Kreizler right behind him. Carter saw that Mary was fixing everyone's plate's. He walked over and took the spoon from her. Mary looked up at her youngest older brother.

"Andrew let me finish making everyone's plate's." She told him. Carter smiled at her and said.

"No you sit down, and I will make everyone their plate's." Mary placed her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes at him. Carter smiled at her again, but this time with a larger smile.

"Andrew, I mean it." She warned him. Carter sat the spoon down, and turned toward her.

"No sissy. You sit down, and I will fix everyone's plate. You cooked this for all of us, and we should at least fix your plate, and get you something to drink." He told her in a loving voice. Mary went to warn Carter again, but this time Burkhalter cut in.

"Lady Mary, sit down and let him do this." He said in a strong, but sweet voice. Mary sighed, and sat down. She smiled as Carter moved to pull out her chair for her. When Mary sat down; Hogan noticed something. 'She listens to Burkhalter more than any of us. If he was not here; then Mary would have made Carter give her back the spoon.' Hogan thought to himself. Klink sat down next to his love, and saw that he was in deep thought. He leaned over and whispered to him.

"Burkhalter is like a grandfather to her; so she will listen to him more than any of us." Hogan looked over at him, and nodded his head.

Burkhalter had sat down at the head of the table. The General glanced over toward Klink when he heard his name. He smiled when he heard what the slightly younger man said. Kreizler had sat down between Burkhalter and LeBeau. Carter handed everyone their plate's, and sat down next to Kinch and Hogan. They all started to eat. Hogan took one bite, and closed his eyes. Mary looked up at her father and asked him.

"Papa? Do you not like it?" Hogan opened his eyes, and smiled at her.

"Snow honey… this is so good." When he said this; it had brought a large smile to her lips. Mary was happy that her father loved her cooking. Everyone started to tell her that the food was very good. She smiled at all of them and thanked them. She looked over toward her love, and saw that he was taking small bites.

"Peter? Do you not like it?" She asked him. Newkirk looked over at her, and tried his hardest to force a smile on his lips.

"I love it." He told her. Mary narrowed her eyes at him; then saw it in his eyes.

"You are in pain; aren't you?" She asked him. He shook his head no, but his eyes gave it away. Mary narrowed her brows together and added. "You are so in pain. I can see it in your eyes." At this point Newkirk had to give in. He could see the worry start to build within his loves eyes.

"Alright yes I am." He told her the truth. Klink got up from the table, and quickly walked into his and Hogan's bedroom. He walked out with the pain medicine, and a needle. He moved the small bottle up, and stuck the needle in the end. He narrowed his eyes as he moved the end of the needle outwards. Afterwards he sat the bottle down on a small end table that was between the two chair's in the living room. He walked over to his son, and pulled his sleeve up. Newkirk closed his eyes as he felt the needle go into his right arm.

"There you should be feeling better in about five minutes or so… But next time don't go that long without telling us." He said in a strong voice to the young man; who he saw as a son. Newkirk nodded his head.

"I will tell you next time. That was ruddy stupid of me to wait this long." He admitted. He looked over when he heard his love breathe out.

"You think." Newkirk narrowed his eyes at her, but had a smile on his lips. Mary moved closer to him, and did the same. Mary caught him off guard by leaning in, and kissing him on the lips. Newkirk smiled into the kiss and kissed her back. Within five minutes he was feeling a lot better.

After dinner; Kinch and LeBeau did the dishes for their little sister. Mary was going to tell them no, but she heard Burkhalter clear his throat. With this she sighed, and told them thank you. Now Everyone was sitting in the living room, and was now eating the cake that Mary had made. Her brother's looked at the cake at first not knowing if they wanted to eat a German cake. But when they saw Hogan take a big bite, and saw him lower his head; they did the same. Everyone of them couldn't believe just how good the cake was. After awhile Hogan had to know something that was on his mind all evening. He looked over toward Kreizler and asked him.

"So what's my little Snow's IQ?" He asked. Everyone looked over at the German doctor. Kreizler smiled at all of them; then looked over toward Mary.

"Well it only took her twenty minutes to take the test." He stated. Both Hogan and Klink sat their plates down.

"What?" Klink asked his old friend. Kreizler nodded his head.

"Yes it only took her twenty minutes to take the test, and it took me three hours to find out what her score was." He smiled again at the young woman. Mary smiled a sheepish smile.

"Well are you going to tell us, or not Dr. Kreizler?" Burkhalter asked him. Kreizler smiled and told them what Mary's IQ was.

"Her IQ score was 350." When he said this; three plate's dropped in three laps, while seven mouth's dropped open. Newkirk looked over toward his love who's eyes were as wide as they could get. Kreizler stopped himself from laughing as he watched the three young men that called themselves Mary's brother's; pick the cake out of their laps.

"No… there is no way my IQ is 350. Did you go over it again?" She asked him. Kreizler smiled and nodded his head.

"Yes I did… five times… Mary, your IQ is the highest in the world I do believe. You are a smart young lady and not only that, but you are just as sweet as this cake… How do you feel about knowing your IQ is that high?" He asked her wondering what she was thinking. Mary looked down at her hands.

"I don't know…" Kreizler knew that Mary was thinking something about this.

"Yes you do. Tell me what is on your mind right now." Closing her eyes; she started to tell him.

"I don't want it to be that high. How can it be that high? I am not a smart young lady… I am not that at all… I am…" All started to see Mary's body shake, and heard a low sob. Newkirk moved over toward her, but stopped himself. 'Is she having a flashback?' He asked himself. He leaned down as far as he could, and saw that her eyes were large. Tears were falling from her widen eyes. Mary could hear her voice yelling in her ears. 'You are a stupid hideous demon… you will not get far in life with a brain… your mind needs to be empty.' Mary's breathing started to quicken as she heard her mother's voice in her mind. Hogan and Klink moved quickly toward her, but stopped when Newkirk put up his hand to slow them down.

"Don't… she's having a flashback." He told them. Hogan got on the floor in front of his daughter; as Newkirk started to talk to his love.

"Mary… They are gone. They can't hurt you, or make you feel bad about yourself anymore. He killed her, and I killed him…"

"But she's right… I shouldn't use my brain for anything… I am just a hideous demon." Hogan closed his eyes at hearing this. He opened them again, and looked over toward his three friends. They were all sitting there with a shocked look on their faces. He looked at his love when he felt his hand on his shoulder. His dark chocolate eyes met his loves baby blue eyes. They both looked over when Newkirk started to talk to Mary once again.

"Mary my diamond heart. You are who you are, and I love every part of you. I love your eyes; so much that when I was laying in that bed in the sick bay… I couldn't go to sleep without seeing them. I couldn't go to sleep without hearing your voice; that I love to hear. I had to feel your hand on mine, because I had to feel your touch. When we were laying in bed earlier; that was the greatest feeling. To be able to hold you once again, and to know that you are safe from him. I honestly can't wait to go to bed again; just to be able to… somewhat hold you. And I can't wait until my arm and chest is fully healed; so that I can hold you tight again, and never let go. To be able to kiss you again while holding you tight; is something I have dreamt of. To be able to be with you in that way… knowing that you do love me for me. Just like how I love you for you. I love your body… your hair is like black silk. Your touch… doesn't matter if it is just a brush from your finger's on my hand; it sends fire threw me… I love your mind, because sweet lord… You can do anything you want to do. And I will never stop you from doing anything you want… Now if you want to jump out of a plane… Then your on your own. I have done that a few times, and I kinda don't want to do that again. But I'm sure that your father would do that." He chuckled lightly, but went on.

"But I love the fact that your IQ is at 350. Eira, that is amazing. You were so excited at the fact that I could shoot an arrow that fast… Well I am as just as excited that I have one hell of a smart, good-looking, creative, talented, and a true diamond for heart of a woman like you in my life. And you actually love me. I have to say… I think that blows my mind more than anything." Mary looked up at her love as she listened to him. The voice of her mother faded away as he talked about things that he loved about her. Mary smiled at him when he said that he was shocked that she would love him.

"Why wouldn't I want you? You saved me from George; both from my mind and body. You died to save me from a monster. You showed me what true love was… and you took your time with me. I'm sorry that I listened to her words… you asked me not to let them get to me, but I… I.. I can't help it at times." Closing her eyes; Mary started to cry again. Newkirk moved down to kneel in front of her. With his one hand; he slowly placed his hand on top of hers. Kreizler saw this, and noted how Newkirk was handling Mary's flashback. He listened to the words that he said to her, and watched her reaction to them.

"Eira… I know that their voices will come to you off and on, but I just don't want you to believe what they say. I know what it is like to hear a voice come to your mind that you don't want to hear… The Kommandant that was here before Vater… He used to do the same to me. It got to where I would believe every word that he said to me… But when Klink came here… He helped me get over that bastard. And I will not lie; there are times I still hear that man's voice in my mind… but I have you, and everyone else here to tell me that what is being said in my mind is all a lie." Mary looked up into her loves blue flamed eyes, and saw that he was speaking the truth. Newkirk moved up to one knee, and asked her.

"Mary may I kiss you?" He asked her. Mary smiled and nodded her head. Newkirk leaned up, and placed his lips onto hers. The kiss was that of a truly loving one. After the kiss broke; Mary smiled at her love. Then glancing over when she saw someone move to her loves right. Mary looked over, and saw her father kneeling beside his best friend. Mary's eyes widen as she looked around, and saw everyone looking at her. She spoke quickly as she started to apologize to everyone in the room.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! I'm sorry! Please none of you be mad at me!" Nearly all of the men in the room raised a brow at this. Mary's head snapped over to look at Kreizler when he asked her.

"Mary, Why would we be angry at you?" He asked her. In a quick voice again she told him.

"Because it was a mistake! I didn't mean to have one! Please none of you be angry at me… please." On the last part of the sentence; Mary started to cry again. Kreizler now knew what was going on with this young woman. As he thought on how to word what he had to say; Hogan spoke up. Mary looked over toward her father.

"Snow honey, none of us are mad at you. Everyone makes mistakes; hell I have made a lot of them… but sweetheart you never have to fear anyone of us being mad at you just because you go threw something that you can't control. You told me not to feel bad over not having control in the past; so I am asking you not to feel bad for having flashbacks. You know that I love you… we all do." Moving his left hand over toward Newkirk; then to Klink. Hogan kept speaking to his scared daughter.

"Newkirk loves you, Will loves you, and everyone else in the room loves you. We all worry about you, and they all may fear what I do at times." Mary narrowed her eyes at this.

"What do you fear?" She asked him. Hogan moved closer to her, and placed his hand on her arm.

"That one day you will think that we don't want you, or that all of us are going to leave you, and that you will take your life." All looked over when Carter spoke up this time.

"Colonel Hogan is right. None of us can leave you, or be mad at you. Now at the end of the war; we will have to go home to our families, but we will come and see you off and on." He told her with a smile. From Carter; her eyes shifted to Kinch.

"He's right sis, and like your dad said; everyone makes mistakes. I mean this war is a mistake. It's doing nothing, but two sides hurting each other. History is almost made up of different people making mistakes, but with your flashbacks… You cannot help it. We all have moments where we have some kind of flashback in our lifetime." LeBeau spoke up next.

"Oui that's true. I have a friend back home that has them. He can be walking down the street, and hear something that sounds like what had happened to him along time ago. And his wife will be right there beside him; helping him with the flashback." Mary looked back over to Kreizler when he spoke up now.

"Mary. It looks like to me that you try to please everyone around you, but you don't do things for yourself. You seem to think that if you make everyone around you happy. That if you make a mistake; than they will leave you, or forget about you. You want to bring a smile to everyone's face; that you forget to make yourself happy. You are afraid of making a mistake; that those mistakes will drive everyone around you away. Then when you try to be selfish; even if is just as small as a grain of rice amount… You can't do it. Herr General Burkhalter told me when you and he talked a few days ago; that you wanted to go horseback riding."

"Yes I do. Is that wrong of me to want that?" She asked with a raised brow. Kreizler shook his head and held up his hand.

"No it isn't, but when you found out that Wilhelm is a master horseman; you said that if you went riding; that you would want to have him ride again as well. Even when you try to be selfish; it is like deep down you can't be. Being selfish every once and awhile is fine. Like Newkirk told you also a few days ago… Here's what I want you to do, and yes this is doctor's order's too." He smiled at her. Mary narrowed one brow while raising the other one again.

"And what is that?" She asked him.

"Well… once a week; I want you to have a whole day all about you. I want you to spend that whole day doing things that make you happy. Just a day to yourself. Cook what you want to eat; read books that you love to read. Just something that will make yourself happy. Go and spend a day out on the town. I'm sure that a few guard's here will go with you, and make sure that you are safe. Go to the books stores, the market, clothing stores, and other stores in town. And on that day; your fathers, your love, and brother's can look out for themselves." Mary lowered her head and thought about this. Newkirk saw that his love was not going to agree with this.

"How about you have a 'me day' every Sunday. You can go to church in the mornings, and then go to the stores afterwards. We are all big boys here; we can look after ourselves. If you can't look after yourself; then how can you look after us?" He asked her. Mary looked up at Burkhalter.

"That is what grandfather said… How did you know about that?" She asked him. Newkirk smiled and told her.

"He told me. When I was waiting on you and your fathers to come to the sick bay; Burkhalter and I had a little chat." Mary narrowed her eyes at him. While leaning in close to him; she asked.

"And what were you two talking about?" Newkirk just smiled at her.

"We are not telling you." Mary looked up at the General with narrowed eyes. She pointed a finger at her love, and looked back down at him.

"I will find out." She told him. Newkirk stood up slowly while he spoke.

"Oh you will soon, but not too soon." He chuckled when his love made a face that reminded everyone in the room of her father. Mary then smiled at him. She looked into his eyes, and could see that he was getting tired.

"How about we go to bed. You are getting very tired; I can see it in your eyes." She told him as she stood up.

"Yeah I am." Everyone got up, and started to leave the house. Hogan stood up with his plate in his hand. He was walking toward the kitchen to take his dish to the sink; when Mary's word stopped him.

"Papa… Are you proud of me?" She asked him. Hogan turned around with his brows narrowed.

"Are you talking about your IQ, or everything else? Because I am proud of you no matter which question it is." Mary smiled at him, and hugged him. It was what she said next is what caught him by surprise.

"I am proud of you too Papa." Hogan smiled and hugged her tighter.

Mary laid down in bed beside her love. Newkirk smiled as he wrapped his right arm around his love. They both sighed at the feeling of holding each other once again. Mary smiled as she wrapped her arm over her loves lower stomach. She laid her head on his chest to hear his heartbeat. Smiling to herself; she thought back on what her love had said earlier.

"Peter?" Newkirk hummed when he heard his name.

"Hmm."

"Are you really happy that I have a high IQ?" She asked him. He smiled wide at her question.

"Yeah I am. That just means that I am a lucky man to have someone as amazing as you." He told her the truth. Mary smiled at this. Then she asked what she had wanted to ask him.

"Peter, what did the last Kommandant do to you?" Newkirk closed his eyes at this question. With a heavy sigh he told her some of what the man had done to him.

"He used to call me into his office three times a day. When I would go into his office; I had to kneel before him. After that he would circle me; while asking me the same questions. I would agree with whatever he said; it got to where I would believe every word he was telling me. He would sometimes ask me to take my jacket, and shirt off. I would do as told, and he would… beat me with a belt, or whatever he had in his hands. There were many times that I had to lay on the floor in his office for hours at a time. I couldn't move or talk; if I did move an inch then he would start to beat me again…" Newkirk looked over at his love when she moved to sit up to look into his eyes. Mary saw the pain that was there in his eyes. She looked closer, and saw that he was hiding something from her.

"That's not all he did… did he?" She asked him. Closing his eyes at this question. Newkirk felt his heart drop, and the tears came to his eyes. He opened his eyes when he felt Mary's hand on his.

"Peter please tell me. You told me that we can tell each other what is on our minds, and in our hearts." Newkirk breathed out, and told her the rest of what had happened to him.

"Your right… that's not all he did to me… There was many times that he would give me something to drink, and sometimes he didn't do that. He would put some kind of drug in the drink. My vision would go blurry, and I couldn't move. I would fall to the floor, and stare up at the ceiling. Then he… he would get on top of me… and start taking my clothes off." He finally told his love. Mary's eyes widen at this news. The hot tears that fell from her loves eyes pained her to watch them fall.

"What?" She asked moving closer to her love.

"He drugged me to where I couldn't move, or talk. Then there was times that he would just jump me. He called it stripping me of my dignity… The questions he asked me at first was always the same. He asked me if I had hope that I would go back home. If I was the dirt that was under his boots, and I would tell him that I was. I told him that I would never go home again, and that my hope of that was gone. He was my god and master, and I was his English toy… It got so bad that I wouldn't fight him when he jumped me. I would just let him do what he wanted to me. Then when he was reassigned somewhere; he actually asked if he could take me with him. They told him no; that I had to stay here… Then when Klink came here; he was told what the last Kommandant had done to me, and he called me into his office. When I walked into his office… I did what I had done before; I knelt down in front of him, and waited to be beaten, or whatever he wanted me to do… Then when he told me to stand up, and to sit down in a chair; I was confused on why… I asked him, and he told me what was done to me; would never happen again. He actually sat down with me and told me that one day I would go home, and he would make sure of that. He told me that I was like a ray of sunlight; that no one could hold me down. That my god was the same as his… that if I put my trust in god; then he would show me how great I really was… Klink spoke to me like I was his son even back then. After that I had flashbacks… I would hear that bastard in my mind. I would go to Klink and he would help me. He reinsured me that I would never be raped again, and I have to say that there was a few times I thought that I was going to be. But he stepped in, and saved me both from whoever and my own mind." Newkirk smiled at the end, but still had the tears running down his face. He glanced up and saw that his love also had tears in her eyes. Mary rubbed her hand up an down his arm while she spoke.

"I am sorry that you went threw that. Now I know how you know how to help me; when I am in a flashback. That is how Vater talked to you." She stated. Newkirk raised his hand up and wiped his tears away.

"In away; he did talk to me like that, and it did help a lot. So I just thought if that helped me while I was in a flashback; then it would help you… It does help doesn't it?" He asked her. Mary smiled wide and told him.

"It does actually. You make me see that I am not what they told me that I was. You make me feel so special, and so loved. But you know that if you have those flashbacks again I can help you; like how you helped me." Newkirk smiled wide at this.

"I know that you will help me." He told her. His eyes watched her narrow her brows together.

"But how do I know if you are in one though?" She asked him. Newkirk wetted his lips and told her.

"I freeze in place, and tense up. I can't move or talk." He frowned at remembering how long he had been hiding this from his friends. There were many times that he would be in one, and he had to fight threw it; just to be able either hide it, or to finish doing what he was doing at that point in time. Newkirk was brought out of his thoughts when he felt Mary move herself back into his arm. He smiled wide as she draped her arm over his lower stomach.

"Well I will be there for you, and help you. And maybe I can make you cry with all the lovely words I tell you; just like how you do with me." She told him with a large unseen grin. Newkirk smiled wide and laid his head back down onto the pillow.

"We'll see about that." He told her. Mary smiled wide then moved her head over, and kissed his chest. Newkirk pulled her tighter when she did this.

A/N Okay I wanted Mary's IQ to be pretty high up there, and later on you will see why.

A/N Okay I do have a reason for all the sad back stories with everyone…. And you will all see later down the road. ;)
